The owner The Critical Update, Luis Delgado, has always been a wealth of information on topics from computer security, backup solutions to malware. Recently, I had to call on The Critical Update when water spilled on my laptop. Their response was calming, professional, and friendly. A technician came out quickly and they were able to rescue the system. I highly recommend The Critical Update for anyone needing IT services!

Tommy did a number of checks to try to determine what was causing the problem. After his first two visits, computer was still not booting up and freezing up after opening. Tommy worked on-site and remotely on three different days to find the problem and correct it. He was always patient and in good humor. After hours of work, he determined what was happening and it is now working well. Thanks Tommy!

The install went really well as has all of the various IT services that they've provided through the years.

They helped resolve the computer issue over the phone. I would have personally preferred to speak to someone in person. I do not think I would use a service like this one again. They did resolve the issue and were persistent. It was kind of a lengthy process and was a little frustrating. It was easy to get in touch with company.

Process was completed. Technician wasn't very knowledgeable with apple computers but the job was done.

Excellent! Brian from TCU was polite and very capable. He did exactly what we needed.

I found them through Angie’s List. It is the second time we used them so if they haven’t been good the first time we wouldn’t have used them the second time. They were personable and they came in and did the work. The only problem is that the second time it was hard to get the payment because they never did send the bill if you can believe that. They did a good job. They just came and did what they were supposed to do in a timely manner and they didn’t drag it up because you are paying by the hour. When you call to set up the appointment it is hard to understand the recording on the telephone and they give choices of which person to go to but you don’t know which person to pick. The second time I knew I had to pick Louis but first time I didn’t know. The same thing happened when we try to pay the bill too. My husband did it so he didn’t remember the name. I think the price was fair.

Service tech worked on reloading operating system and saving personal files and making them accessible. However, after reloading the operating system, it became clear that the computer (7 yrs old was on its last legs). Got good advice about new computer system. Will work with Critical Update again in reloading personal files from the old computer's hard drive.

The computer tech from Critical Update cleaned the computer off all the accumulated adware and such. Solved the problem. I've used Critical Update several times in the past and have recommended them to friends.

I am a small business person and I wanted computer support help that can tackle the things I can't handle myself. Jim was my technician and he came to the house, listened to what I wanted and got it done and educated me on how to address my questions so I can maintain my independence. A partner is what I am looking for and that is what I got.

He was excellent too. He did everything he could to get to work. I felt that he was very honest and professional. He gave me some recommendation for other pc's that would be good and reliable, so he did a great job.

Excellent service, courteous and knowledgeable about my equipment

Worked on the computer at some length, did thorough cleaning. Seemed OK when done. Problems reappeared later on, were eventually resolved. Was several years ago, don't remember details.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went pretty well. They're very friendly, very nice and very helpful. With the coupon, the price was good. Without it, it would be expensive so it was nice to do it with the coupon.

They did what they were supposed to do.

They spent much more than an hour on it but only charged me for an hour. Bill and Luis were very professional and answered all my questions. Bill indicated that the PC did not have any known viruses on it when I left. However, when I returned home and tried to run virus scanner on it, the PC consistently had a BSOD. Not using PC until I evaluate options. Expect that at a minimum I'll reformat the HDD and have Windows reloaded. May end up just throwing the PC away since it could cost more than the $700 replacement cost to resolve the issue. Bill did much more than he originally promised and he warned me that it could take a long time to find the issue. Bill was very responsive and willing to share information. He worked extremely hard to do the right thing and make sure that I did not have any issues when I left. Luis was very helpful as well in discussion that I had with him. Two great people. Too bad virus removal is such a nasty and uncertain business.
