In a word, RX Home Solutions are consummate professionals. While it took a little bit of time at the beginning to receive bids and negotiate the scope, once the crew arrived they worked from very early until dusk and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The crew supervisor was very responsive to my calls while the work was continuing and even assisted me when a small leak occurred around one of the siding panels, which is more than I can say for another company (which charged me $650 for what seemed like 15 minutes of work). This company stands behind their work 100% and they did a fantastic job. They were not the cheapest bid I received but I am 100% satisfied with their work and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to do remodeling or other house work.
Description of Work: Replaced some exterior Masonite siding that was damaged; additional work included the installation of both a front and exterior door, patching the slab and even some minor plumbing repairs.

hardwood floor

The owner was very cordial in the beginning. His employee came to my home to get a sample of my hardwood floor to match for the repair job. He ordered the wood, but when came to install it, it was the wrong wood. We decided we would each search for the matching wood on our own and we would decide on a mutually acceptable resolution for the mis-purchased wood, including me perhaps splitting the cost. I was told I would never find the matching wood. I found it less than a mile from my home for 1/3 the price. This showed me they never really looked for the correct wood and jacked up the price on the incorrect wood they decided was close enough. They completed the job, yet left dried glue all over my floor. Further, the owner called me in an attempt to collect the balance due from the incorrect wood purchased by his company. I refused and he told me to "go screw another contractor" next time.
Description of Work: His company repaired hardwood floor in my home.

I called R X Home Solutions after finding them on Angie's List. I got four bids for this work and selected them after I met with Paul. He took a lot of time to help us decide the best way to go about the installation of the door. His price was neither the highest, nor the lowest, but he was priced competitively. I couldn't be happier with the results. I took a new job recently where I now work primarily from home when I'm not traveling. Having a home office was needed and the upstairs loft area was the perfect solution. However, we needed a door constructed to close off this area since we have small children and pets at home. The door and wall that R X Home Solutions constructed look like it was part of the original home. You can't tell that it was added later. Also, the job was originally slated for four days, but they finished in two! So we were extremely happy with the work and the timing.
Description of Work: Paul's crew closed off our upstairs office area by constructing a wall and doorway in an opening that was approximately 4 feet wide. The doorway was installed in a manner to square up the passageway as much as possible. A small portion of the air return vent had to be closed off in the hallway to make it work. The door that was installed was 36". The door and door hardware matched the other interior doors. Sheetrock was installed on the walls, as necessary. The walls were taped, floated and textured to match. The walls, door and trim was then matched with the interior paint. Price included labor and cost of door and hardware.

I was a little disappointed in the depth of the outer beam - an engineer had told me several years ago that it should be bedrock or 2' deep. The outer beam was made at ground level. However, a few days after the job was complete, I discovered a hole in the concrete. The company disavowed responsibility for the hole, but came and patched it anyway.
Description of Work: Altered & expanded front porch to be 12' wide and 6' deep. Outside edges to have beam installed with rebar attached to existing hose slab. Poured in a manner to support future porch overhang addition

We had a horrible experience with this company. The hole in our wall is repaired, but the paint doesn't match. When we initially got the estimate, they said they would call to schedule the work, but they didn't. We called them, and they had forgotten about us. Originally, they told us that paint and staining supplies were included in the estimate, but they ended up using leftover paint and stain from when the house was built 7 years ago. The paint doesn't match anymore. This was after the person doing the estimate told me the original builder hadn't used the correct stain for the porch in the first place. We made arrangements to be home on the day of work, but they canceled the day before. We had to take another day off. We had to remind them to finish the deck--they didn't bother to stain the posts. We chose this company because of the positive comments on Angie's List and we got burned. They weren't the cheapest, but we thought we were paying for quality. Ha!
Description of Work: Roofing repaired, drywall replaced and painted, front porch stained.

Paul showed up on time for the estimate and was friendly and helpful. The estimate came over 3 days later than expected, but was acceptable. I called to schedule work on a Tuesday and was told his scheduler would call me Thursday. I was informed they were 1.5 to 2 weeks out at that time. I got a call from the scheduler the following Tuesday (5 days late) after I left a message Monday. The suggested start date was 4 weeks away. Although initially impressed with the service at the estimate meeting I immediately was let down with the lack of attention to detail when it came to customer service. I therefore did not follow through with the work and am moving on to another provider who can follow through on the front end of the project. If you cannot do that part well, it gives me too much concern about your ability to manage subs and perform quality work.
Description of Work: Remodel downstairs hall bathroom. Toilet has been removed and new toilet will not fit level. Remove existing vanity, vanity top, sink, faucet, mirror and tile floor. Level tile floor to as close to perfection as possible. Install new ceramic tile floor. Install new pedestal sink. Install bracing for pedestal sink as necessary. Alter water lines and plumbing to fit neatly behind pedestal sink. Install ceramic tile wainscot around perimeter of room. Wainscoting to be approx. 38-40" high. Top edge of wainscoting to have a tile rail finish. Greenboard to be installed on walls where tile to be installed. Sheetrock to be repaired as necessary. Sheetrock to be taped, floated and textured to match existing texture. Sink and faucet and new mirror to be installed. Bathroom to be painted at completion of work. Price does not include cost of tile, pedestal sink, toilet, faucet or mirror.

Very pleased. I took several bids but Paul seemed more confident in the cause of the siding decay than the other primary bidder; both bids were comparable in dollar estimates. Several problems occurred during the repairs but the solutions the crew provided for alternative approaches were figured out in consultation with the homeowner (me) and reestimates of costs provided for my evalution and acceptance. Workers arrived promptly and scheduled their work around when I or my wife could be home to allow inside work and to make sure the vicious guard dogs were put up for the outside work. Work was performed in a timely and professional manner. We will call them first when future projects develop, and they will, of course.
Description of Work: Siding damage caused by bad flashing, front wood porch repair, back deck pillar support repair, rescreening two doors, resize a kitchen cabinet for an odd sized microwave, replace two kitchen flourescent light fixtures.

The work began on a Tuesday and was finished by Friday, a day earlier than anticipated. I met Mark, the contractor and John, the carpenter, at my Mom's. They were early every day but one and that was due to having to go pick up supplies. They got the cabinets torn out the first day, prepped the walls and picked up the cabinets the second day. The ceiling repair drywall was done and the fan and switch installed. The third day the cabinets were installed. There was a glitch as far as a couple of the cabinets and how the range hood was to be re-installed due to trying to replace custom cabinets with off the shelf cabinets, but it was figured out quickly. The ceilng repair texture was applied and it so closely matched that no painting was needed and I couldn't tell the difference between the patch and the rest of the ceiling. The cabinets were painted Friday and the hood re-installed. John re-hung the bifold doors in my mother's closet for me at no charge.
Description of Work: Three jobs were done: Tear out old upper kitchen cabinets and replace due to previous termite damage and repair wall if necessary (it wasn't). Repair hole in ceiling due to plumbing repair upstairs and install ceiling fan and replace light switch upstairs. The work was done at my mother's house 30 miles away so much of our communication was by phone instead of face to face. The estimated time to complete all the jobs was 1 week. They actually finished in 4 days. The cabinets were the biggest job and required the owner, Paul Hudspeth, to go to several stores to try to find off the shelf, in stock cabinets that would match the lower cabinets the closest. Mr. Hudspeth kept me up to date on the cabinets and the scheduled start date, and always called me back promptly when I called and left a message. He and his crew, Mark and John, were excellent in dealing with my mom, who has Alzheimer's. They kept the work are clean and cleaned up very well after all was complete.

I purchased all the materials before hand from another retailer so the price RX charged me was just for the installation. I was pleased how everything looked when it was completed. I would refer this company to other people looking for someone to do jobs like this.

Overall, it was a disaster. They power washed the deck with no regard to where the paint chips were going, sending them onto my pool cover (good thing the pool was covered). They painted the deck white, when we specifically told them we wanted it painted the same color as before. While they were painting it they said the paint would get darker as it drys. It did not. When confronted with my dissatisfaction in the job, I was told that I told them I wanted the deck painted the same color as my bar (an off-white), which was untrue. Not to get into he said they said, because it's irrelevant. The fact is I know what I asked for; I know what I paid for; And I know I did not get what I wanted. The cost of the job was grossly over priced, but I figured I would get a good job if they were charging that much (WRONG). The owner said he would come out and look at the job, that he wanted to, "make it right", after arguing with me over the phone. He came out, and it turned into another conflict.
Description of Work: They were hired to power wash/remove paint from a deck surface (approximately 25'X40', and repaint the deck surface the "same" color (gray) as before. They power washed the deck, and painted the deck white.

The estimate was so high ($1,800) I didn't hire him. Another estimate was $160.00. I explained my needs to both people exactly the same way. I suppose Mr. Hudspeth just didn't understand what I wanted. I just couldn't believe the estimate!
Description of Work: I wanted someone to patch a few holes in the facia of my house. I explained that I did not want anything but a basic repair, without painting or finishing as I will have my house remodeled soon. Mr. Hudspeth came to the house when promised to create an estimate for me.

My husband and I were very pleased with their work. Paul was pleasant to deal with on the phone and very professional. Greg arrived on time (always a bonus!) and did a very neat job with the installations. There were a couple of trips to Home Depot to get the right replacement faucet, but other than that, the job seemed to go smoothly. Paul came by during the day to check on the progress.

We didn't hire him in the end because he was much higher than another bidder, but I was impressed with Paul's honesty and professionalism. Paul came out to look at what needed to be done. He jotted down notes. We talked about individual tasks, and he asked questions. With certain tasks (broken faucet), he confessed I'd do better going with a different professional (plumber). Within two days, he sent me via email an itemized estimate for all the tasks I identified. I was really impressed by the amount of detail in the estimate and how he grouped them all together by similarity. My original list was not organized. It was just a list of things that needed to be done by room.

The owner was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. He showed up exactly on time and gave me a quote. Upon being hired, I was given a date when the work would begin. A few days before the work date, I was given a courtesy call and advised when the worker would arrive at my home and how long it would take to complete the job. On the morning of the scheduled date, the worker and the owner arrived 5 minutes early. The work was completed, all materials were removed and the work area was cleaned up in a very timely manner. There was nothing to clean after they had gone.
