Rudy's Painting & Drywall

After trying to deal with some other contractors who wouldn't even call you back when they said they would, it was a pleasure dealing with Rudy and his guys. The air conditioner installer (don't get me started on THAT idiot!) screwed up the condensate drain lines on the A/C in the attic over the kitchen ceiling, and I didn't realize it until I had about 50 gallons of water streaming through the ceiling and bringing the whole thing down in a big wet mess on the kitchen floor. I didn't think things would ever look right again, but Rudy showed up on Friday right on time, surveyed the damage, and didn't blink an eye. He offered me a quote on repairing and painting the whole job which I accepted, and had his guys there on Tuesday. (Rudy even offered to have them start work on Monday if I chose, even though it was Labor Day!) The drywall guy cut out the damage and deftly fitted new sheets onto the ceiling (working ALONE, by the way!) and had the hole closed up in four hours. He then scraped and cleaned the old popcorn texture back so he could blend it in, and re-textured the ceiling. Everything he did was planned to try and keep the house as clean as possible, including laying out a roll of thick brown paper all the way to the front door so that he wouldn't track anything onto the floors. The paint guys showed up the next morning, and went to work completely encasing the kitchen in plastic from floor to ceiling. They spent way more time preparing and cleaning up than they ever did actually painting, and the job showed it. When they were done, everything was neat, clean, and back in perfect condition. This whole project had my stomach in knots, but it turned out that Rudy had everything well in hand. I hope I don't need him again anytime soon - but he's the first person I'll call if I ever need drywall repair again.

I picked up my paint and they did all the rest. They were finished and cleaned up all in one day.

I contacted Rudy thru Angies and he got back to me the next day. (Two others I contacted did not get back to me) He gave me a bid and said that he could have painters at my home in 2 days and I contracted with him. I bought the paint the next day and they showed up on time the second day. The two brothers did a great job and finished in one day. I had two colors (two coats each) and a vaulted ceiling and a wall going up the stairs to the second floor. They spent a lot of time on covering everything and therefore cleanup was not a problem. They were very professional. I would use them again.

It was perfect. They came right on time and were polite, clean and nice. They went above and beyond what you need to do to protect--they even covered the garage floor with plastic. They didn't leave a mess when they were finished. They also said it would be a 2-day job, but we told them we needed to go out of town. They accomodated us by working around the clock, and the owner even came out himself to finish the work. We're also going to use them to paint the exterior of our house. Their prices were also excellent.

The work crew was great! The whole process went extremely well and was not too disruptive to the household (we had to all rely on the 3r bathroom). From start to finish, the work took 4 days. The painting is flawless.

Rudy's drywall man did a fantastic job, and his painters are top-notch excellent. Very close attention to detail, and very clean cleanup. I'd use them for the whole house!

Rudy was responsive and punctual, and his crew did a good job. They obviously take pride in their work and aim to please. We chose his company because he seemed as competent as anyone we contacted and bid somewhat or a lot lower than the others.

I called Rudy and he was able to meet a few hours later on Saturday. He surveyed the job, told me would take 7-10 days and gave me a price to complete the job. I gave him the GO on Saturday about 2:00 PM and he had workers there on Monday Morning to begin the job. As the job was started by another crew & not finished. Rudy found a few additional things the first crew had not done properly, and corrected those without additional charge.

Very professional, great crew. Rudy was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. His crew was courteous, fast and very good.

I contacted Rudy a year ago to obtain a bid on painting the exterior of our home. He arrived promptly for our appointment, spent a good deal of time examining the house and gave me a reasonable, fixed price the next day. He was one of four Angie's list painters we had out to bid on the project. He was right in line with every one else's estimates, but Rudy was especially personable and detailed oriented. He struck me as an honest businessman and he liked cats. We put off the project for a year (old houses have unexpected issues that can derail the best of plans), when I called him last month to see about getting the house painted, he said he would honor his previous bid. I told him he should look at the house again before committing to that promise. As before, he showed up on time, made a thorough inspection and called his previous bid good. The schedule was slightly was derailed by rain and a few carpenter issues but Rudy always kept in touch and found a great, reasonably priced carpenter when we were in a pinch. His crew was meticulous. They worked steadily throughout the day, did an excellent job on the massive amounts of prep work that needed to be done and painted with careful precision. The job site was tidied up each night before they left. The men were pleasant, friendly and not even slightest bit creepy. I felt very comfortable for the six full days they spent working on our home. Rudy stayed in constant contact via phone or text. He was on the job site every day and spent a good amount of time talking over the day's work with me, addressing details and directing his crew. He was on top of the project and took great care that it was done to my satisfaction and his high standards. He was always upbeat and cheerful. At the end of the job, my house looks beautiful. Amazingly beautiful. I couldn't be happier with the results or the man I hired to get it done. We've had countless good, mediocre and downright terrible contractors work on a variety of minor and major projects in the quest to resurrect our old, badly built house - Rudy was truly one of the best experiences we've ever hired. I would highly recommend Rudy to anyone. He's a stellar guy who honors his word and does excellent work. A true craftsman.

I called Rudy on Thursday and he scheduled repair for the next day. His assistant Jorge arrived at the promised time, evaluated the repair and proceeded to mask and cover the surrounding area. The repair was quick and the texture is as close a match to the original as I could expect. Jorge also did a great job cleaning up the work area when he was done. Rudy's was the only quote I received (he gave it over the phone when I sent him a text photo of the area) because he did some repair work for me in 2011. The only reason I gave a B for price is because I was hoping for a price under $300. I would use Rudy and Jorge again.

I called Rudy for an estimate after going through numerous nightmare experiences with other sheetrock contractors (including one contractor who removed one wall and never returned to complete the repairs). Rudy showed up the very same day I called for an estimate and carefully inspected all the areas that needed to be repaired. He even suggested a very creative and viable solution that prevented me from having to remove siding from a portion of the exterior of my home due to sheathing damage. This single solution saved me from having to spend another $1500-$2000 to hire another contractor to remove siding and perform exterior repairs. Rudy's estimate was very fair considering the amount of work that had to be done. Rudy and every member of his crew were courteous, professional, and hard-working beyond belief. They showed up on time every day, and the first day they worked in my home, they were there from 9:00 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening, only breaking once for lunch. Because I had to leave and go to work, Rudy sent me videos of the repairs they were performing on the wall with the sheathing damage. He told me he wanted me to see that they were actually doing the repairs and not just slapping drywall on the studs without performing the other work. Unbelieveable!! Every day they worked at my house, they covered the floors with plastic and heavy brown paper, covered nearby furniture and doorways, and at the end of every workday, they cleaned up after themselves. At the end of the project, they took every bit of trash and debris away. Anytime I had an issue or question, I texted Rudy, and he texted or called me back right away. He was on-site at my home various times on every day of the project and was very involved in project management. All the work his crew did was extremely high-quality. Where walls and ceilings had been repaired, there was no evidence of any prior damage. The texture and painting work was beautiful. When a mirrored half-wall in my bathroom came loose (not through any fault of Rudy's crew), they took great care to re-attach it to the wall and ensured it would not loosen again. On the last day of the project, I mentioned to Rudy that I would be having a handyman out in the next couple of days to replace the bathroom light fixture. He got a very concerned look on his face. He then went in the bathroom and removed the fixture himself to see what the wall looked like behind it. The reason Rudy was concerned? Because he was worried about how the wall would look with the new fixture on it because it was a different size than the previous fixture, so his crew hadn't had a chance to remove the wallpaper, patch the sheetrock, and add texture and paint the wall. He immediately got on the phone with one of his workmen and told him to be at my house the following morning to make the repairs to the wall. Jorge came out (Jorge did absolutely amazing work on the entire project, by the way), made the repairs AND THEN INSTALLED THE NEW LIGHT FIXTURE HIMSELF!!! The awesomeness of this company just does not end! And if all of this wasn't amazing enough, Rudy performed the final cleanup of my floors himself on the last day of the project. He told me that he felt that clean-up after a job is just as important as doing a good job. I don't think I have ever heard these words come out of a contractor's mouth. I will always work with Rudy's company for any future painting and sheetrock needs I may have because they are hands-down, the very best at what they do Austin and the surrounding area.

Rudy was responsive, reviewed all needs and recommended appropriate paint. All work was completed well. Cleanup could have been better.

Rudy was pretty professional but the painters were not. The work turned out mostly good but they got paint on the carpet in one of the rooms and they didn't tell me about it. They fixed it and cleaned it up pretty good but that was not good. I had a brand new hardwood floors in the house and they got pain in the floors and some paint in the trim and that's frustrating. I would probably not use them again.

Rudy is not the cheapest but his guys do great work and the job was stress free. I used someone else over him one time due to price and it was a nightmare and not worth it in the least. Rudy's guy did an excellent job and it looked night and day better than the work the other guy did and for only a couple hundred more. Don't makethe mistake I did, use Rudy the first time!!!

Rudy's drywall tech (Jorge?) arrived at the appointed time on the appointed day. VERY courteous and professional. Quietly executed the repairs as requested and agreed. Cleaned up after himself and left no mess. I am VERY satisfied with the work, the responsiveness of the provider and the courteous nature of the tech. He re taped the crack and applied the appropriate texturing to the ceiling. Can't tell that there ever was a problem. We are VERY pleased with the results. It would be great if ALL in home service providers conducted themselves as Rudy and his team do .If you need drywall repair, Rudy is your man.

We weren't in a big rush, and weren't going to move in for a couple of months so we could finish up all of the work, so Rudy put one of his best guys on it full time for a few days. He was very good, and worked very fast. The slap brush texture takes skill and he did a very good job matching it seamlessly. I had previously begun scraping off all of the old popcorn ceilings before, so I had them spray a new heavy orange peel on the ceilings. The vaulted ceiling in the living area had a terrible texture on it that had to be completely re-floated before texturing, which was a huge job. Rudy would text me with updates and questions. He was easy to get a response from. He also applied a slight discount after his initial bid. I'm not sure if Rudy did actual work himself, or if in addition to the main guy he put on the job, maybe he had a helper here and there when they weren't busy doing other jobs. But he definitely went by the house to check on progress a lot. Rudy was very nice and laid back, and they did a great job.

Rudy was prompt in coming over to give us an estimate, started work the next day, finished the following day. The work was perfect! Not only was the wall repaired to it's original condition - drywall and paint - he left my home immaculate. Covered everything in plastic first. When finished, he vacuumed and cleaned so that you would never construction was going on. I would use him again, and highly recommend him if you are looking for a painter or someone for drywall work.

I'll just add to the accolades - Rudy and his crew are pure professional. Courteous, punctual, trustworthy and OMG! so very, very neat!! When they left, there was no debris, no overspray, no paint runs or 'thin' spots. Largely I wasn't home while the work was being done - so it was like magic! Come home in the evenings and "POOF!" done! I'd hire him again and recommend "Rudy's Painting" to anyone needing interior or exterior painting or any sort of services they offer. You will NOT be disappointed.

This was truly one of the most positive experiences we have ever had with a service provider. Rudy and the guys that work for him are professional, punctual and provide a high quality service. His drywall guy did such a good job we had trouble finding the spot after he was done and it hadn't even been painted yet. I knew I was going to like the painters when the first thing they did was remove all the switch plates and outlet covers without being asked...how many painters try to just paint around those?! My last comment will be about how Rudy treated every bump in the project as if it were no big deal. He came to my house to cut a piece of wall off so I could get a color match when Sherwin Williams didn't have my records. His guys repainted a wall after a miscommunication about the color (that was totally our fault) without a single complaint even though it was the end of the day and they were ready to go home. I've rambled enough but had to let everyone know how great this experience was.

I had a great experience with Rudy. He came out and looked at my issues on a Friday and had someone at my house on Monday to fix it! The gentleman who did the work was very polite and did a great job. While he was here, I asked if he could fix some more drywall because we had taken down my backsplash and some of the wall was messed up. He called Rudy who came and looked at it and agreed to fix it as well. I could not be happier with the work and the service!
