I was very happy with them from the last time that they did work for me. They did a closet for me in April. Then they came back to do some more work. They were trying to protect the floors and when they pulled back the paper that they were walking on, it pulled up the varnish on the floors because they had put the wrong type of tape. So, I had the tape marks everywhere on the floor and when I tried to get them back to fix it, they never even got back to me. They messed up my floors. The work was great except for the tape. Their price was low. I liked what they did a lot. They were professional and always positive. They were on time and they gave me a detailed estimate. They were great. Everything else with them was great except for the tape that they put on the floors and it was not something that I had to deal with. I would probably like to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I have used the services of Rudy's Painting and Drywall in April 2011. They did drywall, built a closet and did some painting in my house.

Everything went fine and on-track -- even without a real schedule (so many changes). I know from lots of experience that you can do much, much worse than Rudy, but I seriously doubt you can do any better. Look no further and ask no more, these guys are the bomb!
Description of Work: Project #3...and more! This project entailed repairing sheetrock cracks (from settling), texturing, and painting. When it comes to sheetrock repair and matching texture: Jorge is the man! He fixed flat ceilings, angled joints, and walls. Really an artist (he's the same guy that stuccoed our bathrooms). This started out as a $900 job for the ceilings in the living areas (repair/paint). After Jorge started, I noticed some cracks in the master bedroom that I had not seen before. So I asked for Jorge to repair three bedrooms. Well, I closed up a six foot opening to our office by building a wall and sheetrocking it. I asked for Jorge again. Then those bedrooms needed painting (ceiling & walls). And, since some of the cracks were on the walls in the living area, they needed to be painted. So, instead of trying to stop and match wall colors, we had them paint all the walls a new color. But, don't forget the niches leading to bedrooms and baths (walls/ceilings). Talk about project creep! So when all was done, that's why the price went from $900 to a reasonable $4,250.

From start to finish, in and out, faster than you can imagine, these guys are your best bet!
Description of Work: All three of our bathrooms had out-dated wallpaper -- my wife always wanted a stucco finish. Rudy came by a quoted us on three projects -- this one is number two. Anything that was too big was covered. They stripped the walls (some were easier than others). Then they had a machine that blew texture and Jorge came in and did his magic with a trowel. They primed/painted the walls and were done. When my wife saw it, she was sooo impressed (and wondered why it wasn't done years ago)! It was just what she had pictured in her mind. After everything was done, Rudy walked through and noticed some paint cut-ins he didn't like (he seems to be a bit of a perfectionist) and had the guys fix whatever he found immediately.

Folks -- you just can't go wrong with Rudy.
Description of Work: These guys are the best and I found them on AngiesList! Rudy showed up and gave me estimates on three different projects. This one is for painting the exterior of the house. These guys are fast! I needed to remove/replace my framed chimney (masonite) with hardyboard. I thought I had plenty of time, but they prep & paint so fast, that they had to wait for me to finish my construction. I was so pleased with the results that I just had them start another project (next report). While they were working on the next project and when I finished, they just got up on the roof and caulked and painted my chimney -- no problem.

Rudy came out the same day to give an estimate. He was professional and the price was reasonable. His team painted my master bedroom and bath; they did an excellent job and moved all the furniture before and after the move. They were trustworthy and I felt comfortable leaving them in the house alone. We ended up asking them to come back the next day to the baseboards and trim. At the last minute I asked Rudy about pressure washing the deck. He had his guys start that day and the finished the next day. A great experience, I will use Rudy and his team again!

Rudy was great. He was very responsive. When I called to say that I had a complaint about some little speck paint splatter he responded immediately. He was willing to have people come out and fix it. They did a fine job. I was disappointed that I had to put a second coat on in one area. That was not a big problem, though.

I was not impressed with him in the least. Very unprofessional, did not get back with me. Was late for the appointments that I would make for him to meet me at the house. He basically said he couldn't find the materials to fix my house when I knew myself where you could find the materials. He never did supply an estimate. I definitely will not use him in the future.

It went very well. They are very reasonably priced, but don't cut corners or skimp on materials. Very professional. Rudy is there on site overseeing the work. His workers are happy and highly skilled, honest, and trustworthy. They did the work quickly, went through all the options with us when there we decisions to be made, and always helped us save money where possible. He never tried to push work that wasn't necessary. I would definitely use them again for all our drywall work, painting, carpentry, etc.
Description of Work: They built a brand new closet in our bedroom. Did a great job. Replaced roughly half the drywall (walls and ceilings) in our house where it was cracked from movement over the years. Replaced entire kitchen ceiling.

Our walls and ceilings developed some stress cracks in our main living area, some from normal minor settling during the two year drought, others caused by hammering when having our old siding replaced with hardi plank siding a few years back. Got several bids from drywall/paint contractors on Angie's List. All were in the same ballpark price wise. Hired Rudy because of the consistently good reviews regarding how well he matches texture, communicates with the customer, and stands behind his work, and he didn't disappoint in any regard. In fact, he definitely went the extra mile to make sure it was done right, and sharing his knowledge of the process was a great learning experience for me. This was a two day job because of the extensive and time consuming taping and masking off from the ceilings down including floors, the entire areas comprising our entry, living, dining, kitchen, breakfast, and hallway, most of which have high vaulted ceilings. Rudy explained that our ceilings had never been painted, just sprayed with popcorn texture when the house was built (1985), and so just painting them with water based latex paint after all these years could cause issues from the sheetrock actually absorbing the paint. So, in order to do the job right, after repairing the ceiling cracks and retexturing he would first prime the ceilings with oil base primer before spraying them with latex. Not only was having to prime first news to me, but this seemed to be an extra entire step in the process that we hadn't previously discussed and wasn't written in the bid, yet to Rudy it was the only way to do it so the job would be right, and he seemed to treat it as just part of the original bid. When finished, the wall crack repairs were totally invisible because the retexture matched so perfectly with the existing texture. However, on some areas of the ceiling it just didn't look right because the popcorn didn't seem to match and/or the paint didn't match, which resulted in it being very obvious where the ceiling had been repaired in some areas. Rudy came by immediately that afternoon to inspect the ceilings with us, agreed that they didn't look right, and without a moment's hesitation said he and the crew would be back the next morning to redo the ceilings, which they did, and the ceilings turned out PERFECT. This was no small task as they again had to tape and mask the whole area, scrape and retexture, and repaint. They also repaired a small wall crack I hadn't noticed because it was behind a curtain and for no extra charge. Rudy told me that popcorn ceiling texture, or more specifically, the little chunks in popcorn, comes in a number of different sizes and can be really tricky to match to the different sizes of popcorn that was used on older houses. I never had a clue that popcorn texture was anything but just popcorn texture, not different sizes, and Rudy was very thorough in explaining this and even showed me handfuls of different popcorn sizes he had in the truck. And after determining which popcorn best matched ours, the ceilings look awesome! Bottom line is that Rudy stood true to the many reviews I've read about him on Angie's List. Yes, it took two tries to get the ceilings right, but when he saw it wasn't right, he didn't hesitate or balk or come up with some lame excuse - he just made it right, and right away. It was a tricky texture match and Rudy's great attitude and professionalism toward getting the job done right and to the satisfaction of the customer was exceptional. He's also very personable and a pleasure to work with. I will be calling him next time I need such services, and I highly recommend him to anyone needing drywall/painting work. I should add one other thing - Rudy's was very understanding and flexible with scheduling our job. When I first called him on a Friday and gave him the go ahead, he said he would like to start on Monday or Tuesday, but that conflicted with my schedule so we agreed he would start on that Thursday. I ended up getting sick early that week and reluctantly had to postpone. When I got feeling better later that week, Rudy was able to get us scheduled right back in and started the next Monday, which we needed because we needed the ceilings/walls fixed before we could move on to the next project we have scheduled. Thanks again Rudy!

I had started to do the work myself earlier in the year, but found I was in over my head. I found Rudy on Angie's list and scheduled an estimate. Rudy provided a reasonable estimate and we scheduled the work to take 3 days. He arrived on schedule and began the work. Originally I was going to do the painting, but became ill and asked him if he could also paint. We agreed on a price and to my surprise he thought he could get it done within the 3 days scheduled for the original work. In addition to the paid work, he helped me finish emptying the garage and putting things back in the evenings. He was courteous, professional, and easy to work with. He ad his crew completed the work within the 3 days and I was very pleased with the quality. He cleaned up each day! After having two very bad experiences with contractors over the past 3 years, I was gratified that there were still excellent contractors out there!

He was topnotch. He was very professional and punctual. We chose another provider. I am sure his work would have been just as good. One of the reasons we ended up not going with him was that he needed a little more time before he could do the job and we wanted to get the job done. His price was fair. The quote was for $750. It was about the same price as the other provider we used. I would use him again in the future if needed.

I called Rudy after our first contractor pulled out after working the job for just 2 hours and left our house in shambles. He was an amazing contractor that went above and beyond expectations/job description. Rudy did not notice the ceiling was sagging when the estimate was made, but went ahead and fixed it free of charge. The crew was VERY professional and personable. My neighbors came over both during and after the job, and asked Rudy for his card so he could do some work on their house as well. Thank you Rudy!

So all in all, a really good job on a tough house to work with, but do be very detailed with Rudy when you do your estimate.
Description of Work: Rudy and his team did a great job on drywall repair in my old east-side house with really challenging, big cracks and subpar existing drywall. That said, they did take longer than the estimate and cost a couple hundred dollars more than the estimate. That would be totally reasonable given the condition of the drywall they were working with. But I have to admit, it does seem that maybe Rudy's team went astray a little here and there. They repaired an area that I said to ignore (a closet) for instance.

We are so thrilled with the work Rudy and his team did for us; we still can't get over the difference their efforts have made in our home. We kept tacking on extra jobs (originally we had only planned to have the paneling removed and drywall repaired) and they accommodated us willingly and at such reasonable prices. Rudy was always responsive whenever we called during the workday -- and even after! -- with newbie questions, and often even stopped by the house to answer questions in person. He also drove to Cedar Park for us to pick up a kind of hard-to-find trim. The whole team was so professional and provided very personal service. Our house is utterly transformed! We found out at the end of our project that Rudy's company was also working on another house -- one much larger than ours -- but we would have never known we weren't their only job site because we felt we had the whole team's attention at all times while we were working with them.
Description of Work: Rudy's team removed the dated 70's paneling in our living room and repaired the drywall underneath, as well as fixing some DIY drywall/texture projects gone wrong in the foyer. They spray textured everything in the living room and foyer with a uniform finish that now matches the rest of the house. The team also painted the living room and foyer, as well as a built-in bookcase. Additionally, they installed and painted new trim and fixed a DIY trim project with decorative molding. Now it's as though the 70's never happened!

We couldn't be happier!! Rudy came out the same day I called and gave me a very fair price - slightly more than another company I was leaning towards who didn't include the drywall work in their quote (i.e. Rudy was definitely cheaper overall). They were also able to start the next morning. They estimated the work to take 3 days but were done in 2 days. Rudy & team were very thorough and it took them several attempts to get the wall texturing looking right on the drywall sheet they replaced. I never had to ask them to try doing more with the texturing - they did it on their own. At the end it was perfect - there was no way to tell where the new sheet of drywall was located because they were able to blend it so perfectly. Rudy's motto was to not collect any money up front. He said "just pay me when the job is done and you're happy". For me that's a statement of confidence in their ability to get the job done right and to getting satisfied customers. If I ever have more painting/drywall that needs done - these will be the first guys I call! I would even wait for them to become available if that was an issue. It's seems rare that you find this type of craftsman anymore! P.S. I have no affiliation with the company. I'm just a happy customer and really like to see companies like this be successful.

Rudy did not want to get paid until I was happy with the work.

We needed some serious drywall re-texturing and repair throughout our entire house and we had no idea if anyone would even be able to fix it. We called Rudy on day 1 and left a voice mail and he called back within 5 minutes and said he could come out that evening to take a look. He arrived at our house when he said he would and he was very friendly and listened to everything we wanted to be done. After looking at everything he said he would call me that night or in the morning with an estimate. He ended up calling that night with what seemed to be a great price for the amount of work we needed done. Just to make sure, we called another contractor on day 2 and he seemed less knowledgeable, did not have the 'can do' attitude that Rudy had, and his price was higher. That day we called Rudy and told him we would be using him and he said he would be there the next day ready to work. On day 3 he showed up with about 6 guys and they began taping the floors and covering furniture. Now, if I had one complaint about the job I wish he would have been more detailed about the time table because we did not remove everything from the rooms that he was working in and he was spray texturing, but he did cover most of the stuff so it wasn't too bad. He said the job would take 7 days and it took him only 4 days and the finished product was AMAZING! We could not believe how well he matched the existing textures and removed some 'waves' from the walls. This guy is the real deal and knows what he is doing and I would not hesitate recommending him to anyone. Also, I am a female and I was there by myself most of the time and felt 100% safe around him and his crew.

I love working with Rudy and his guys and have used them for several jobs now. The reason I go with them is value. They quote a fair price and stick to it and Rudy and his men are very responsive, friendly, professional and detail-oriented. They can be busy, so I try to give them an early heads up if I have a job coming up so that the scheduling can be worked out. Usually I do this at the time of the estimate, since Rudy does these in-person anyways.
Description of Work: We had an old set of cabinets removed and drywall and a door put it to make a pantry. We had the new pantry, and an old pantry, painted and trim added. We had drywall repairs to the wall and ceiling in our living room from where we had electrical work done, and those areas repainted. We also had drywall work in the kitchen on the ceiling and repainting from where we put in a new, large kitchen lighting fixture.
