Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Started leaking again that night. A call-back fixed it the 2nd time with a different technician.

They were excellent. The technician did a good job and even gave some recommendations for future reference. I think the price was reasonable.

Cut a hole in the dry wall and checked for any signs of a water leak; found none. Opened the controller unit (valve unit) and checked for any water leaks and after a period determined the water leak was coming from the cracks in the grout around the tiles in the shower. Instructed me to buy some waterproof silicone to put over the grout. Did not charge me the original estimate for $350.00 and charged me only $55.00. The Service Technician was polite and understanding.

My one problem with the company is that they messed up my appointment time. Massively messed up. I had 3 customer service reps give me 3 different explanations and was even kept on hold for 45 minutes by one of them. I only had one day off that week and a 9am appointment ended up showing at 7pm. So I spent all day waiting for them to show up. Once he did get there, though, he did a great job. He quickly (and accurately) diagnosed the problem. Told us how much it would cost to have them fix it, but also told us how to fix it ourselves since it was relatively easy. We haven't had a problem with the sink since that day.

Barn drain stopped up. Called for service. Added a slow bathtub drain to the job. Punctual, friendly and fair.

When the alarm for my sump pump went off recently I called Roto-rooter and asked if they did sump pump work. When they said yes, I made an appointment. The technician came out at the time he said he would and he was very friendly and courteous. However, in the end, he did nothing, and I paid $57 for it. He did not even open up the sump pump to look at it. Instead he guessed at what the problem was (even using the word "possible" on the invoice...he had no clue whatsoever). How can you make a diagnosis if you don't even look at the equipment? I asked him if he could take an actual look and he said that the company wasn't certified to do that kind of work but he mentioned a couple other companies that did (one which I called and ended up using). If you're not certified to do sump pump work, then why, on inquiry, did you say you did that kind of work? The only reason I didn't refuse to pay altogether was: A) my momentary confusion over what was happening and, B) I was dealing with an upset toddler. In short, a complete waste of money. I ended up feeling scammed.

There was a block in the toilet bowl. The reason for the blockage was there was a root that was going through the pipe. They basically took out the root and fixed the problem by putting some root killer around the piping. Two of the other companies that we talked to recommended very expensive solutions like putting a camera for the whole drainage, like network, basically relaying the pipes, which would have been $3000. Roto-Rooter fixed the problem without going into all that. They seemed to know what was going on more than the other companies. It took them a day to return our calls. They were a bit late.

I really liked the fact that they were here in less than an hour and a half of me calling. Also, the product I needed, they didn't have on the truck. However, the next day they came back at 8 am to install it. They were very courteous and knowledgeable. They explained everything plumbing related to me. If I had a problem I will be calling them again.

The technician came out and took a quick look at my sink clog and opened his price book and found the price for his service. I was stunned that to snake my kitchen sink drain they wanted almost $400! They know that people are less likely to say NO if the technician is already at your house and ready to do the work. That way they can charge their crazy prices. We negotiated a bit and I got him down to $250, but it was still over $100 than the quote I received from another company. He said he couldn't match that price, thanked me and politely left.

Jesus arrived early and did not waste time. Total time 45 minutes most of which was paperwork. He was polite and very competent. I have no complaints over the work but he was expensive.

Job went well overall. Plumber was here when promised and performed his job efficiently. Would call them again.

Overall, good work, but was unable to fix one of the bathtub faucet handles. Plumber did put in a lot of time and effort to fix the faucet. Faucet may be completely unfixable due to age / wear. Price seemed high.

The young man was honest and dependable, and did a good job.

They were expensive. They lied to be by telling me that I needed to replace my whole sewer line when I later discovered that I didn’t need to. They said they wouldn’t come out anymore until I replaced my sewer line. I would never recommend anyone to roto rooter.

The service tech was appropriately pleasant and helpful, explaining what had happened to result in the clogs. Returned later that week to check system status although this was not required by our service contract. For a large company, our experience was relatively positive.

They always get the job done, that's what I like about them.

Both times they were on time and effective. Scheduling service on the phone was easy. Not the cheapest out there but you get what you pay for. The septic pipe cleaning was straightforward. The water pipe repair was a little more involved due to a special coupling used that the service person did not have on his truck. He had to leave and come back the same day to complete the repair so it took about three hours in all. I was still satisfied with the overall repair.

We had a flood in our house and could not readily and easily identify a source of the water. They thoroughly checked all possibilities but were unable to find a cause or source. They did not charge us for this because they do not charge for estimates.

They said is very common in Texas. I would use them again.

I had these guys come out to quote a job. The price was probably inline with other high profile plumbing companies but was 2-times higher than a group of licensed plumbers that had insured and licensed plumbing companies, but didn't pay A. List for advertising, although they all had good reviews on Angie's List.For my dollars, it was worth it to shop around.

The toilet in our garage studio would not flush and the drain was spewing out waste whenever we flushed a toilet in the main house. We thought we had a septic problem so we had our tank emptied. The problem still persisted so I called Roto-Rooter. I called around 1 p.m. and they were here at 4:30 p.m. The gentleman, Nahrain Ruiz, who arrived was very nice, professional and really knew his business. We discussed the various drain clearing options and I received the cost of service before any work was performed. He guaranteed me everything would be fixed before he left. He then set straight to work. The line from the studio T's into the main septic line and he was able to get his plumbing snake through the elbow and checked if there was a clog in that section of the drain. There was not. He then retracted the snake and set it towards the main house. The clog was found and it consisted of tree roots. He had to work for about 10 minutes before the clog was cleared and a large rush of water, etc. came pouring out into the septic tank. He continued on up the line toward the house. He requested that I flush the toilet in the studio and in the main house twice and run hot water in the kitchen sink. Afterwards he reported that the initial water he saw was black which turned to brown which then turned clear. He also indicated that he thought we had a small hole in the drain pipe and marked the position on the ground so that we could have that repaired. Roto-Rooter also gave us a 30 day guarantee. Mr. Ruiz did a wonderful job and all of our drains and toilets are working well again.

Service included the use of a camera after the blockage was removed to determine the problem. Was able to show that the pipes from my home are slightly misaligned with the city's pipes as well as a some separation several feet into the city's pipes. Provided a bid on providing a spot fix of the owner/city pipe connection, but encouraged me to see if the city might correct the problem. NOTE: I generally think plumbing services are overpriced which is reflected in my ratings above but would probably not be much different than any other plumbing service.

So far the work has been okay. The guy that did the installation was a very nice guy.

They are a good company. They did what they could for the clock, but the clock itself is an older clock so there wasn’t a lot they could do for it.

The work turned out very well. They were very careful, but they did break a path light. They were supposed to follow up with me about fixing the light, but I never heard anything back.
