Lenny was great and he is very professional. He removed the toilet, replaced the flange and reset the toilet. He cleaned up his mess as he worked and ensured everything was clean when he left.

Set up an appointment, they never turned up. Same thing next day and the next day. Gave up trying to use them. Seems they just make appointments they cannot keep..

For that I was charged $189.00. Not a fair charge and will seek alternatives plumbing services in the future. The plumber was a nice guy, and my criticism is not intended to disparage his efforts, he was polite and professional, but the company policy that does not adjust for job scope and scale. UPDATE September 24, 2015: When I initially posted I had not received any follow up from my Roto Rooter Request to call me to discuss this charge. However,on September 24th, I did receive a call from Lawanna Bradford, Rotor Rooter Account Management, apologizing for the delay and the mix up. To her credit she allowed me to express my frustration, then patiently and very professionally answered my questions and concerns, apologized as needed and then noted I should not have been billed at that rate given the limited work involved. She immediately refunded 52% ($100) of my initial $189.00 charge and threw in an additional $50 coupon for future services. All in all Roto Rooter exceeded my expectations and won me back as a client.

They did an adequate job - in and out quickly. Time will tell if they snaked it far enough down the drain to clear it out. Next time I will confirm the price before I ask anyone to come out. Roto Rooter has been fairly competitive in the past but I will now do a lot more shopping around.

Top notch! Called on a Saturday morning. The very polite dispatcher had a technician on the way within minutes. Lenny was efficient, pleasant, and did a neat, quick job.

Roto-Rooter sent out a technician named Freddy. Freddy was a well mannered and respectful gentleman who showed up early and worked quietly and efficiently to finish the job. He answered questions clearly. I recently hired another company to do simple work and they wanted far more, so I turned them down. Freddy discounted the faucet installation since he was already there to do the drain work. All work areas were left clean.

Scheduled online about 24 hours ahead of time, got a call about 30 mins before arrival saying Richard was on his way. Richard was friendly and knowledgeable. He did say that his boss told him that they needed to give me a discount because I seemed concerned about the cost when I called, and the boss didnt specify how much of a discount so he was going to work out something good for me. I knew this was crap because I hadn't scheduled over the phone, but whatever. Honestly I just needed it done and it was below what I had decided was my max so I told him to go ahead and do it. He made sure to give me a specific written estimate before he began and said the only variation would be that he had to go get some parts from Lowe's that would add about $20-$30, it ended up only adding $15.

Went very well. The technician was professional, and helpful with advice about preventative measures for the future.

They are about the only company in town that has the Ultra Sound Water Leak Detector. It only takes them 30 minuets to find the leak compared to 8 hours it takes other companies. They came out within 24 hours. The reason I recommend them is because of the equipment. There were two workers and one was a master plumber.

Our drains started backing up on all of our toilets, this occurred at about 6 PM on a Sunday evening of course. The tech (Eli Gonzales) arrived within about 40 mins. of placing the call. It took him about 2 hours to locate the stoppage, clear it and then to run the video camera down to take a look. It appears that the break falls just off of my property line and if that is the case then the city will be responsible for the repair. I'm waiting for a copy of the video to forward to the city. Eli kept us informed each step of the way as to what he was doing, he kept his work area very clean and when he left there was no mess to clean up after him. I am very happy having had him do the work on our house.

He was horrible, took 20 minutes to tell us that 2 basic toilet replacements would cost over $1000+ on labor. Stay away from this company unless you have a money tree in the backyard. Couldn't believe they were on Angie's list.

I thought the toilette was going to overflow and it kept running and the shut off valve was stripped. I did not want a huge water bill or to waste water. I had bought a toilette on sale and was planning to have it installed. Called a few places here in Cedar Park and no one could come. Found Roto-Rooter in the phone book and they where able to send out a plumber. Jerome was awesome. He was very professional, nice, and answered all my crazy questions. Next time I need a plumber I will request him. Also, I was pleased with the price.

These guys were timely. Dispatch said that they would give us a call when the plumbers were a certain time frame away from being at my residence. The time frame given was accurate and we were able to have our service performed. These guys were very professional and courteous. They also took a look at another placer we had installed by another technician and informed us of some things that we need to do. Again I would recommend using Roto Rooter Austin ask specifically Civic for Daniel and Jeff. Go Roto Rooter Austin!

It was the Saturday, July, 5th - hot and the day after a holiday. We has someone in to assess the quality of floors as he pulled the third and final screw out of the threshold water started pouring into the house. We turned off the water and called Roto-Rooter. Daniel Miller ( R-R tech #304) showed up within the prescribed time (which included two calls from R-R to confirm he was on his way). He had crawl under the house to assess the location and damage, get some special tools and pipe since the damaged pipe is no longer being manufactured and was able to replace the pipe/stop the leak within 45 minutes. He even diagnosed an issue with our kitchen sink while he was here. We were really worried the cost of the service call was going to be a lot higher and that that we were going to have to spend the rest of the weekend without water but do to being Angie's Lists customers, we received a discount and as I mentioned, the leak was fixed in less than an hour.

Needed emergency plumbing service on Friday night due to a plumbling leak. Called roto-rooter and scheduled the appointment for the next day. They said they'd be there between 9 & 11 the next morning. No show. They kept calling saying, "we haven't forgotten you." By 2 pm I told them not to bother and called 1st Plumbing Services instead. 1st Plumbing was there within 45 minutes.

They are the 2nd plumber who recommended the water pressure regulator. Our neighborhood has very high water pressure, and the house fixtures, over the last 18 years, have been under stress to manage that amount of water. Consistently, one or the other of our fixtures has needed replacing, more often than from normal use. The root cause of all these malfunctions seems to be the high water pressure set by the water company. Now, our fixtures are all in top working order, and they will be able to last to the manufacturer's specs. The Roto-Rooter men, Jesus and Jose, both were courteous, and very well informed. They explained everything to my satisfaction, and performed all the tasks quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up afterwords, and I will definitely depend on them as reliable plumbers for the future.

First let me say for emergencies I have used Roto-Rooter but always thought they were a little on the pricey side. This time our Master bathroom water heater went down again after it had been repaired by the same guy a few months prior. The repairman was here timely, but then checked the water heater and stated that it was dead. He offered a costly estimate for repair and a couple of options of how to do it for several thousand dollars. A few days later the water heater started working for a couple of days and then died again. I decided it might be electrical, so I called an electrician. It turned out to be the thermostat and the sum total of the repair was $99.00 labor and parts. I would think that for a big company like Roto-Rooter, I would have at least gotten a correct read on what was wrong with my water heater and have had it done correctly.

Exceptional service. I called on a Sunday anticipating a long wait or possibly no help until Monday. The sewer was clogged causing a mess outside. Roto-rooter estimated it may take up to 3 hours and agreed to call 30 minutes before they arrived. They actually called me back within a half hour and said the service person would be there in 30 - 40 minutes. Pete arrived and quickly cleared the clog. He suspected that the problem was clear out at the attachment to the city sewer system and recommended I call the city to prevent further problems. He explained how the connection was made and pointed out where the ground and sidewalk may have settled, causing the connection to the city line to come out of alignment. He worked quickly, efficiently, and professionally - explaining what he was doing and why. Overall I am very satisfied and particularly happy with how quickly they responded.

** This is an update to the following review: I was contacted by the general manager of the Austin office. He listened to my concerns regarding the service I received from his company and explained their pricing policy regarding any service requiring digging. He also apologized for the difficulties I encountered when trying to schedule service and offered a discount due to those difficulties. I was very pleased with his professionalism and his desire to "make things right." As a result, I will call this company in the future. I called to schedule an appt. on Monday at 10:30. I was told someone would get back with me in about an hour. After several hours I called back and was told that they were so backed up that no one could get to my house until the following day between 10am and 1pm. I got a call on Tues. morning that no one would be able to get to me until between 1pm and 4pm. At 1:00pm I got a call that a plumber was on their way to my house and would be there in 45 minutes; they did not arrive until 2:35pm. An estimate of $550 minus a $40 coupon they volunteered (so $510) to complete the work was given because they (Jose and Jesus) were going to have to dig to locate the leak. Not being very savvy about this kind of work, I agreed thinking that if it was not as difficult a job as they predicted that the price would be adjusted down. The plumbers proceeded and 30 minutes later the job was done, much to my surprise. They only had to dig a 1'x2'x2' foot hole in muddy ground (so not that difficult at all) and replace a portion of pipe less than 18" in length. I was then presented with a bill for $500.00 (they had taken off an additional $10 for whatever reason). I was in shock and proceeded to question why the bill was so high. They explained that $550 is the price set by the parent company (Roto-Rooter) for any job requiring any digging so as to be fair to all customers (not exactly sure what was meant by that); the fact that it was an extremely easy job that took only 30 minutes from start to finish was beside the point apparently. I, personally, do not feel as if I was treated fairly by this company and will not use them again, even though the work done was excellent, simply because of their pricing policy. I should point out that the $550 set price included parts and labor. I did inquire as to how much the parts for this repair cost --- the two brass fittings came to about $30, the cost of the length of pipe was not disclosed so I will estimate a high amount of $30, This would put the labor cost that I paid at $440 for two grown men to dig a 1'x2'x2' foot hole in muddy ground and replace a <18" pipe for a total of 30 minutes of work. One more thing I would like to say though, is that the two plumbers were extremely nice and professional. If they had their own business with competitive pricing I would definitely call them again.

I hesitated to call an outfit like Roto Rooter but they were recommended by another company my husband located on Angie's list. Roto Rooter very quickly sent a polite, knowledgeable crew. Our problem was anything but straightforward and there was some difficulty with the locating equipment. Nevertheless, the crew returned, figured it out, and resolved the problem.

They never came or called got tired of waiting for them and called so me one else

Water conditioner Install required digging for a water line connection, wiring for the device's timer, and setup. Once the unit was installed, the technician had to call for assistance in setting the controls, and couldn't explain what he'd done. Someone else came out later to reset this (and I still don't understand it). Within the warranty period they had to return to fix a water line leak at the original connection, and we had also discovered that they disconnected power to the jacuzzi tub when they ran wiring (this was fixed by someone else). They noted after they finished that we should probably build a building around it since it's outside--no mention was made of this beforehand. I think they do a good job when staying within their range of expertise, i.e. plumbing leaks and repairs, water heater install were all fine, but would not hire them without knowing their level of expertise for anything beyond that. I understand the tech who worked for us is no longer employed there.

When I requested a service call, I was very specific that there were (3) 3/4" copper lines to be capped/sealed. The technician arrives and does not have the supplies needed for the job. I wait an hour and a half for him to return with supplies (it does take that long from my location). One of the seals was not successful and when the water was turned on it spewed like a fountain all of the ceiling, the room and myself. The technician did not have an extra cap to fix it and was going to leave again for supplies. I found a copper piece that could be used as a cap in my own supplies and gave it to him and he completed the job. It took an excessive amount of time to complete the job and I felt the charge was equally excessive. Roto Rooter charged my credit card twice for this job. It took two phone calls, over two weeks to get the charge reversed. UPDATE: A new General Manager of Roto Rooter called and asked for more details of the problems incurred. He apologized and said that he was taking information like this to improve services. I was reimbursed $150 for this service call. I am pleased they did something to make amends.
