Description of Work: The sales presentation was excellent and the salesman very professional. The killer was the cost. It was way more than we thought we could afford even with the no cost for installation and zero interest. Andersen may be a high quality product but there were others just over a quarter of the total costs which were equally as good except for the special material which Andersen promotes. If I could have afforded them, I may have continued with the purchase.

Description of Work: The windows were installed in 5/2010. Since the house was built in 1983, the windows were not "standard" size, so we decided to go with the custom sized. The people at Andersen were polite and kept their appointments, etc.. We are pleased with the outcome; however, they failed to repair one windowsill (left 2 nail holes) or address all the scraped shutters, which occurred when they removed them. We were not there the entire time, so I would recommend homeowners to be present and check everything carefully before they leave.

Description of Work: They replaced a window. They did a good job but their prices are high. They did an estimate to replace the other windows and it was huge. There are other companies that also do a good job with a good product, but are more reasonable.

Description of Work: The crew was great. They took out the old and installed the new quickly, efficiently and cleanly. They even had the opening to comply with code. Did a great job. I love the windows. They look great, really updated the look of my home! They open and close so easily! I feel secure with the locking mechanics and I have benefitted from the energy efficiency. And they block out at lot of outside noise. Yes, I would definitely recommend Anderson.

Description of Work: This was the third set of windows we had Renewal by Andersen put in. The windows are wonderful but it seems as though the service and quality/knowledge seems to have gone down each time they came out. Scott doesn't seem to take complaints or issues to serious so I haven't even called with a problem I'm having with a leak (but I will). The windows have saved us money on bills. Very good product.

Description of Work: While the windows themselves are very good quality and installation went fairly smoothly, their sales tactic is as sleazy as it gets. I was on a time constraint and decided to go forward with them based on a lack of time, but if I had it to do over again, I would have shopped the market more. At the time, their process was to ask you - repeatedly - before a sales person comes out if every one who can make a decision will be present. I said, "yes", at least three times. I suppose they didn't believe that a woman could buy some d*** windows by herself as the "pre sales" people continue to convey to me that they wouldn't send a sales person unless everyone is there. In sum, they - of course - want you to pull the trigger on a contract when they first visit and want to make sure the pant of the family are there. I finally had to tell them that I owned the home and nobody else would be there. When a salesman does come out, be prepared for the "this is our price only for the next 24 hours". Again, really great windows. Sleazy, sleazy sales approach.

Description of Work: They sent out 2 different sales persons neither gave me all my choice. The first gave me the top price only and it was Way over. The second only gave us the price per window and only one choice. I am a grown up I can decide what I need if given the chance to choose.

Description of Work: We added large windows on either side of the fireplace that we different sizes since we have vaulted ceilings. As it turned out, the walls were load bearing & had to be constructed as such. They did a great job & the windows are beautiful!

Description of Work: Replaced all the windows in our small house. Took longer than estimated so crew left without cleaning the windows thoroughly, but on the whole did an excellent job of installation. Haven't noticed any savings on energy bills, but our old windows were also double glazed. Although price seemed extremely high, would use them again unless we could get a much better price with comparable quality.

Description of Work: We hired Renewal by Andersen to replace 6 windows in our house. The quality of the windows and installation is excellent. However, I feel like we paid too much and could have found comparable windows at a more reasonable price. The contractors were mostly prompt and professional, though we did have to pester them to come out and repair and paint drywall around windows where they had enlarged the cut-outs to comply with current building codes (minimum distance from the floor for fire egress). | |We've had these windows for several years now, and they do help minimize the sound from the street, they look great and function well, and they don't appear to have any leaks or damage. I'm happy with the end product, I just think we may have paid too much.

Description of Work: We had 4 windows and screens replaced. The windows are much higher quality than the original windows. The sales rep took his time showing us options. The installer was very professional; he was on time and kept the work area to a minimum and neat. On the day of the installation, he noticed one of the screens had a tiny tear and put in the order for a replacement right away. We love the windows ... they open very smoothly, let in lots of light but not the heat. We'll use them for more windows in the future.

Description of Work: Replaced 13 aluminum framed, single pane windows with top of the line double pane double hung frames and sun shade screens. the job went fairly well considering the crew was too small for the amount of work to be done and the job rolled into another day. Some components were damaged in shipping,they were replaced expeditiously.
