They do residential and commercial plumbing. We didn’t have a consumer turn off for the water in the street and we had only the city access. We needed them to install that which they did. They did that well. We paid about $800 for that. The quality of staff was good and they were quite responsive on timing. We haven’t called them out for an emergency but we have often called and had someone come out the same day. We have had them out a few times and majority of the times they were fine but there was this one time when one of the guys tried to sell us more than we wanted. The other occasions we have been very happy with them and I don’t know if it was just one employee but still it happens. They are not the cheapest but their quality is good. They are often busy but they are always punctual.
Description of Work: I used the service of Radiant Plumbing for general plumbing work two weeks ago.

came to look at a hot water heater issue, he found the issue and put in a temporary stop. Since the part wasn't covered under the warranty I would need to replace the hot water heater. Then proceeded to give me a couple price quotes. When I asked for written copy of the quotes he refused. The prices where 3 times as much as other places I called after he left without giving me a written quote. If they won't give you a written quote what are they hiding? Makes you really wonder.

I learned quickly that my coupon wouldn't go very far towards the removal and installation of 2 bathroon fixtures. In addition to charging $475 for the replacement, the plumber wanted to replace the drains at a cost of several hundred dollars, he suggested several other changes at an additional cost. I said I thought the cost was pretty high, but wanted the services done. He indicated that he was trying to work with me on the cost, but this was the best he could do. He suggested that I could get just one fixture done with the $200 coupon. Now that would look great. It took him 2 hours to complete the job. That's a pretty hefty per hour charge for replacing 2 faucets, I think. I'll not use them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for $200 worth of plumbing services. I called the company to ask if the coupon could be used to replace bathroom plumbing fixtures and was told it would. I scheduled a service call once I received my fixtures. They were very prompt in setting an appointment. The service was to replace 2 faucets with 2 new faucets.

I bought a "deal" for $200 worth of plumbing for $99 thinking that I could get some minor plumbing done for close to that. By minor plumbing, I just mean cleaning out aerators in a couple of faucets. The plumber came back with estimates that included a number of items that we did not discuss and presented them to me as options. These options totaled over $2,000 dollars of work that I could have done including flushing the entire plumbing system for the whole house. Then just to have part of what I wanted to have done, the cost was $361. Unclogging a partially clogged drain would have been another $150! So I ended up paying and additional $161 on top of the "deal" just to get something done that in the end, had I spent a bit more time looking at it, I could have fixed myself in 15 minutes or less. Lesson learned, don't call a plumber unless you absolutely need to and you have really looked into the problem and be prepared to spend at least $300 - $500 if you do call a plumber. I feel like I just threw away $250.
Description of Work: I was having water flow issues with a couple sinks. The kitchen sink, one bathroom sink and the master shower were just dribbling water. I could not get the aerator off of the bathroom sink and I cleaned the aerator on the kitchen sink but it did not help so when I saw the Angie's list coupon I though for $99 I would just have a plumber take care of it. Turns out there was more than one aerator on the kitchen sink, who knew? The kitchen sink had another aerator that was clogged. I was told on the estimate that it would probably involve disassembling of the pipes underneath the sink. It turns out it did not require that so the plumber through in a "freebie" and cleared a slow drain in the bathroom. He also cleaned out a shower head in the master bathroom. Start to finish, he was probably at my house for 45 minutes and for two aerators, a shower head and a partially clogged drain the cost was $361 and with my Angie's list coupon, I saved $100. In the end, I could have done all the work myself...

Radiant informed me that they have a water analysis meter that can help analyze where the water comes in. The fee was $250 to do this analysis and if I decide to go with them I can get this fee deducted. I decided to go with this proposal. Two guys came back the next day with the meter and the meter was not getting a good read on where the main water line was coming in. At first, there was a strong reading from the meter showing that it was on the right side near the exterior water faucet. We cut a small sheet rock opening and it was not there. After extensive analysis, they said that they were pretty sure that the main water line was coming in on the left side of the house from my front bathroom. I actually went with another plumber to do the water filter system install. After cutting the sheet rock to get to the pipes, the other plumber found out that the main water line did not come in from where Radiant told me. It actually came in on the opposite side of the side under my hot water heater. This have costed me additional time and additional repair. The only reason why I did not go with Radiant for the install was that their quote was $1K higher than two other plumbers.
Description of Work: Radiant came out to give me a quote on installing a water filter system that I purchased from Crystal Quest. Since I do not have a water filter loop in my garage, we have to find out where the main water line comes into my house. The city water meter is on the left side and my garage and hot water heater is on the right side of my side. So....does the water line come in on the left side or the right side? I found out the quote depends upon knowing where the main water line comes in.

Bath tub drain needed replacing and wanted to do both tubs since they are the same age. Service man was prompt and friendly. But when he worked up an estimate he had prepared several proposals for whole house check-up, maintenance agreement and finally the repair I wanted. However the price was so high I could only justify replacing one drain.Once he started work it took about ten minutes and that is very little time for $388. The drain stop and plate couldn't have cost more than $35. (an Angie's List coupon took off $25) Actually spent three times as long preparing estimates as the actual work took. I won't use Radiant again. Everyone needs to be paid a fair price for professional work but over $300/hr is a little steep. By the way, on the estimates the whole house check of all faucets, valves and drains was a whole day job for $2600. So over $300/hr was consistent on the estimates.
Description of Work: Bath tub drain assembly needed replacing. Chose the basic "lift and turn" type stopper.

I could not be happier. They worked me in, so it took a while that day to get here.Once they got here, I was very happy. The plummer was very professional. He explained all the things that may be wrong and what he was going to do about it.. He got after it. He tried the easy fixes first and on the tougher drains got out the big equipment. I could not be happier.

I was very pleased at first and signed a service agreement ($155 for one year) for regular maintenance. After the first visit, the service sort of tapered off. Kevin was wonderful and I was disappointed that I was passed off to different service technicians. I also experienced a couple of misunderstandings regarding the time of the appointments.
Description of Work: My first experience was with Kevin. He came out to repair some problems with my plumbing after we had a flood. The fee listed is their service call fee without any extra hourly charges or parts.

the individual was pleasant enough and did provide different options for the repair. the work appeared to be well done and i have had no problems. i felt the cost was excessive for the amount of work needed to be done but wanted to get it out of the way. discussing the issue with the provider resulted in no reduction of the cost, just eliminating a certain part of the project. i probably have to blame myself for my problem with the project in that i did not get a couple of estimates from other providers. i would probably use them again but only if no other option is available. this is just from a cost standpoint.

great service and quality parts used. Leak and low pressure fixed.
Description of Work: leak checked on toilet supply line and low water pressure investigated. I was presented with different options and elected to replace the main and toilet cut-off valves, main pressure gauge, and toilet supply lines. Good quality replacement valves used requiring only a quarter turn to open or close. Toilet cut-off valves were two-part so that supply line and valve are separate. Plumber was friendly, courteous, and answered all my questions. Even insulated my outside main line around the valve for winter protection. Definitely would recommend.

6 hours ago, I woke up to a water-leak alarm on my hot water heater. As of now, it's completely replaced and the new one is installed and working great! Gary, the plumber who came out, got here quickly and assessed the problem, talked to me about replacement options, and then went and got the parts needed. He came back and got the old one out, as well as all the old fixtures and pipes, hoses, etc. All the new material went in quickly and he was nice about showing me what he was doing and how and why. I had hoped all this could be accomplished for under $1,000, but that wasn't possible. Our new water heater is larger and more efficient than the old one, and it has an emergency shut off valve that will engage if this one starts to leak (like the last one did) so that we can avoid property damage that would come from a major, unchecked leak.
Description of Work: Old hot water heater removed and new one installed.

I would not recommend them because I think they are too expensive and I think they try to sell you stuff that you don’t really need. They tried to tell me that all of my water lines should be replaced; it was a totally different scale of work than what I ended up doing to get my problem resolved. I really felt like they tried to oversell me and they really scared me about what I needed to do. They were nice and all, but I think they thought I was an idiot or something. The problem was solved by replacing about two inches of pipe, but they wanted to dig up my yard and replace my water main. What I paid him for his estimate was more than I ended up paying to get the whole thing fixed.
Description of Work: Radiant Plumbing gave me an estimate to fix a plumbing problem. He did a small repair in the sink to see if that was the problem.

Overall the experience was great. The fellow from radiant plumbing - I'll give his name, although I am a bit nervous that he'll get so busy that we'll never get him over here again - but he deserves the credit - and that's what angies list is about right - turning folks on to good people. It's Gary. My wife and I even decided to move our business over to Radiant Plumbing when he changed moved over to this company. The fix ended up being pretty easy, but in general it's a good example of the service from this company. I had turned the water off a while back and had taken the hoses off the back of the washer to check the pressure and clean the small screen filters - but this did not help much. Gary did the same thing with the same results. He then checked the other end of the hose .... I know, seems simple right. That end of the hose was packed with a mess of stuff, and the screen was pretty tron up. But I need to add this - prior to calling Radiant, I rang an appliance company that we'd used before for the washer/dryer - they did not check the other end, and suggested that we had a water pressure problem. They suggested a plumber. (I am of a certain age, but there's still a learning curve happening!) I also asked Gary about metal hoses as opposed to rubber (which is what we had) - I told him that I don't want to send money just to spend money, buy would appreciate your two cents. He said that with the PRV valve (Pressure Release Valve) which he put in a while back between the city's pipe and the one going into our house, it's unlikely that there would not be a problem. But I have some stuff in the area of the washer/dryer that I'd be bummed if it got messed up, and he was thoughtful about that ... adding that the rubber can possibly burst, and the metal is much safer in that respect. So, he removed the old hoses, cleaned out the area of the outlet where the hoses are attached and replaced them with the metal hoses. And talk about some good water pressure going into the washer! Again, I know this is a pretty simple one, but It's like finding a great car mechanic, when they say something needs to be done, or can wait, you can trust that they are telling you the truth.!! I've read a bit that some folks feel Radiant Plumbing is on the pricey side - they may be just a tad higher than some other companies we've checked with, and in line with other companies. But personally my wife and I feel that for what we have gotten in terms of service, and the supplies that the company provides it's well worth the price. (That was my only "B" in their rating, because I feel their prices are good). In the past we've had far too many companies out that were willing to cut corners, and supply cheap materials - I'd rather have the job done right, and right the first time around!
Description of Work: Our washer/dryer (a stack unit) for a couple months now has been taking forever to fill up - very, very slow water flow. the fellow from Radiant Plumbing came out to find the issue.

The plumber appeared to have all the tools and supplies needed to complete the install. Overall, the experience was very good. Plumbing work is relatively expensive, but does require a quality craftsman to perform the work correctly. Radiant's plumber appeared to be very well qualified and completed the work on time. The fixtures look and work exactly as I had hoped, and I am very satisfied with their service. It would have been a pleasant addition for Radiant to have called to let me know that they had re-directed the scheduled plumber to another call, and that they would dispatch another plumber as soon as possible.
Description of Work: Replaced plumbing fixtures on master bath Roman tub and shower. We had purchased plumbing equipment from Austin Plumbing, and needed it installed. The agreed time was 8am to 10am. I called Radiant to find out if the plumber was on the way, and received word that the original plumber had been redirected to a critical call by an established customer (this was my first use of Radiant) and that they would dispatch someone as soon as possible. I received a phone call not long after that, and the plumber arrived at 11am. He looked over the installation and the hardware we had, provided an estimate ($1,050.00) and after my approval, began work. We had to move a cabinet out of the way that was against the wall behind the shower - the valve's and water lines pass through that wall. The plumber cut a square hole in the wall to expose the old valves. He also had to drill through a faux marble ledge surrounding the tub to accommodate an added spray head. His work was neat, quality workmanship. Once installed and tested for leaks, he closed up the access panel for the tub, and caulked the panel with clear caulk. I didn't notice that it was clear until it dried. I would have preferred white caulk for this installation, but the clear caulk was properly applied. The invoice was presented as estimated, and was paid as agreed. He finished the work about 5pm.

I do not know the quality of this company's work and they were on time and professional when giving their estimate, but I just thought I would reiterate what other people have said about the prices this company charges. I would not use this company if the repair is simple. Their estimate was three times more than two other bids from plumbers. The company wanted over 300.00 dollars to reset a toilet. Both of the other bids from plumbers were 100.00 or less. The toilet was working and in fine condition. For the other repairs, reconnecting the gas stove and replacing a broken hose bib, their price was also three times greater. I don't know the quality of their service, but I could not afford to use this company. I posted the above last week, I wanted to post an update and say because I was even more disappointed with this company after I had the work completed by a different company. The plumber that I hired informed me that the toilet did not need to be reset, that it was fine. That the outside hose bib was not broken and only needed to be tightened. He informed met that the initial estimate was a shame and I would have given hundreds of dollars for needless repairs. Again, I did not use this company but I would certainly not recommend them in the future,

Hi, Thank you for your honest feedback on your recent service appointment with us. I will certainly be taking at a look at the pricing and options that were presented to you. Occasionally we go out and give options based upon what the customer states is wrong and needs repair and then when we get into the repair find that it does not require it and make an appropriate adjustment on the pricing. We certainly value your comments, because we want to be the best! Best regards, Sarah Casebier

Woody came out and found the leak we had in our wall. Listening to other issues we had, he also made suggestions and estimates for other work we might consider. He was really great at explaining issues that might need to be dealt with and why we should consider doing the work to protect our house. When he opened the wall, he found mold and quickly called The Steam Team to come out and deal with the mold before he finished the work. Woody also gave me the number of a company who could fix the drywall after the plumbing was fixed and mold issue was handled. I called right away and had things set up before Woody was out getting materials (since our plumbing was not at current standards). Before he left, he mentioned that he might not be able to get back, but if not, another person from Radiant would be back within the same time allotment that he estimated. The guy from The Steam Team came out while Woody was out. Just as the mold issue was done and a fan and dehumidfier were being set up, another Radiant worker, Billy, came in, (Woody had been called away) and got right to work and did a great and very efficient job! I really appreciated the detailed information and explanations that Woody gave me to help me make decisions. Woody was very friendly and helpful. Both of the companies he recommended to do follow up work (with mold remediation and drywall repair) worked out super well. I was pleased with both of the companies he recommended.
Description of Work: We noticed water leaking under baseboards. The Radiant Plumber serviceman, Woody (Michael Wood) began search for the leak and found it very quickly. Considering the placement of the leak and the age of our plumbing, he gave me 2 options and estimates: 1) Retrofit the current connector so a new pipe could fit; or 2) Replace the connector with the new standard size so that the new pipe could fit precisely. I opted for the new connector, which Woody didn't have on hand. He went to get the correct materials, and because he couldn't make it back, another very efficient Radiant plumber came in and finished the job within the time frame that Woody had originally given me.

After contacting Radiant and setting an appointment they called me back the day of the appointment and tried to reschedule. I told them I couldn't and they finally agreed to arrive at the scheduled time. The gentleman that showed up was pleasant and courteous and committed to emailing me a written estimate/quote for the plumbing modifications I wanted done. After a week and a half I still had not heard from him, but Radiant kept calling to set up an appointment with me. I would call them back and leave a message (they rarely answered the phone) that I wanted my written estimate first before anyone came back out. A few days went by and they tried to reschedule someone at my house again. Again I called them and told them to send me the estimate first. Finally the plumber that originally met with me called and gave me a price that was twice as much as any other estimate I had received. Never did get that written estimate. These folks are very disorganized and way too expensive.

What I liked about this company and/or Gary as a service person: Although not technically an emergency by any means, they were able to meet with me the morning after I called. Gary was punctual, polite and honest. He explained why the tap line was probably leaking now, after the installation of the new washing machine, and, it was possible, that it might stop leaking on its own at some time in the future. This had to do with the nature of older pipes and corrosion. I was impressed that he told me this at all. Even though it was a small leak, it was bothering me that any amount of water was being wasted, and I wasn't keen on the idea of having corroded lines delivering water to the relatively expensive new machine, so I decided to go with one of the lower-priced options that he presented. Which brings up another point that I liked about this company: Gary didn't just quote one fee for one job; he drew up a quote with five fees for five jobs, ranging from minimal (replace only the cold water faucet handle and corroded pipe) to the higher service: yearly maintenance program which concerned routine service to the hot water heater with reduced fees for any additional plumbing services. Mid-range service options involved the type of faucet handles and connectors and whether or not both the hot and cold taps were changed or just the cold tap line. At some point, I may revisit the full-service option, but at this time, it is not financially feasible. I did appreciate the option to choose service based on price and/or services performed. I also appreciated the fact that when I opted for a lower-priced service, he didn't try to "hard sell" the more expensive service plan. I'm tempted to say that they are expensive, but then I think plumbing services are expensive regardless. The important thing is that the job is done correctly, they arrive on time, scheduling is quick, and you feel that your service contractor knows what they are doing: Radiant Plumbing meets all of these qualifications. Also, there is a $25 coupon available to Angie's List members and parts and labor for this particular job are guaranteed for two years. He was also finished in the time that he had estimated, which was a plus.
Description of Work: After purchasing a new washing machine and having it installed by service personnel from the store, I noticed water leaking from the cold water tap hookup to the machine. I then noticed how corroded both the hot and cold taps looked. Having purchased a front-loading machine primarily to save on water, the irony of leaking water taps from corroded pipes was not lost on me. When I called Radiant Plumbing for an estimate, they were able to come out the next morning. I had two other companies lined up to call (both of whom appeared to have lower service fees than Radiant, gleaned from Angie's List reports), but after speaking with Gary, Radiant's service contractor, I decided not to mess with lower hourly fees and go ahead and get the tap line replaced. Gary replaced the corroded portions of both the hot and cold tap lines and replaced both faucet handles. He also tested the water pressure coming through the lines to make sure it was acceptable with the new washer (my old washer had been a top-loader with only two water settings: mud puddle-small or ocean size-super).
