Overcharged me, when I replied that the balance they were attempting to charge me was incorrect, they refused to respond and sent me to collections. I cannot say this strongly enough: do not ever use this awful company

Things did not go well from the start. Miscommunication on their part, incredbily poor installation. After the install gas company brought to our attention that the entire new unit was destoryed during install. Radiant came back numerous times within the first year. Now, we are about to enter year two and we now have to replace all the work they did in attic. All duct work is blown out. On top of that, the new company we had doing a new inspection because the AC wasn't working. New company noticed all the "boxes" in the attic need replacing and mentioned they should never have installed it the way they did in the beginning. Now due to hot and cold air meeting in the ducts, we have mold and other issues coming our way. Would have loved to give them a chance to try to make it right but we gave them too many chances. Now we have a lawyer involved. Worst company I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

Austin Energy detected a large leak at my house while I was away on vacation. They shut off the water and told me to call a plumber to evaluate leak and fix. Called Radiant and they sent a person out and said it would cost me around $6000 to fix issues. I didn't have much choice since I was gone and didn't want any further damage, I agreed. Long story, short. The leak was in my irrigation system, which they didn't tell me until after deciding I needed ton of other stuff done that had nothing to do with the leak. They thought they'd be nice and refund me $1,000. So basically I paid them $5,000 for work i didn't need. As well, they have refused to send me a detailed receipt outlining everything they did with a corresponding cost. Which my insurance company requires. So basically a horrible experience made much worse by the folks at Radiant.

This place is a scam. Fixing and correcting HVAC and plumbing issues is not their priority. Figuring out how to continually suck $$ from the customer is obviously the goal. We spent $12K in 2022 to replace our heating and cooling system. Since then, we have had 10+ service calls to work on a NEW system they installed. Each time they tell us the “fix” is to fix something else. In our case, it has been the air ducts. We trusted them to replace /repair duct system for another $3K. Each time, we are told, “that part did not get replaced…” and “a certain component was not installed…” and “the vents are not operational…” It goes on and on. Keep in mind that Radiant is the only vendor to have ever worked on our HVAC. Run as fast as you can from Radiant and spit at their stupid, corny advertising. I am an educated citizen attempting to tell the truth about this place and save others from letting them bleed $$ from others. Of course they show us in a timely manner! They need technicians there ASAP to suck $$ from clients.

Stay away from this company. The management is only our to make quick money. They charge high prices and the technicians are not allowed the time for good work. I hired Radiant for A/C maintenance and was happy with the routine service. When I had to replace two A/C systems I hired Radiant despite their quote was 50% higher than competitors. I didn't get the excellent work promised as the justification for the high price. The technicians had to replace both systems in one day instead of the explained two days. The ducts were connected in the easiest way, not the proper way. When I didn't accept the work a quality control technician inspected the work and agreed with my complaints. Nothing happened for two month and then Radiant called and insisted that the work was done correctly (Radiant are the experts to decide, not me) and unless I pay the final amount same day the invoice would go to collection. The fact that one system failed after a month due to a badly made wire connection and actually was incorrectly wired didn't make Radiant reconsider their claim for having provided excellent work.

Waited 4 weeks for repair in 100+ degree heat every day, no communication, and they bumped us. Horrible business management, no communication, it's company run by narcissists who just want to see themselves on TV every day. Our AC went out in the height of summer in Austin when the temps were over 100 every day, which means ALL AC repair companies were incredibly busy. We are not unreasonable people, we understand that. So we made an appointment three weeks out and decided to get out of town in the meantime while we waited for our AC repair appointment. Over that time we never got an email or call confirmation from the company and so were very concerned so we called. Come to find out because the previous owners of our house had used their service they sent any communication to that person, because apparently their extremely antiquated computer system simply overrode all of our contact details. For this reason, we called to confirm ourselves and were told yes in fact we were on the schedule, and we were able to fix all our contact details in the system. With temperatures still at 100 degrees +, we ourselves called the day before our appointment to confirm our appointment and were told "Yes, a technician will be there between 8-12 tomorrow morning." So we did what we could to keep ourselves and our dogs comfortable but come 12 pm the next day there was no technician and no call. A call eventually came and we were told that they were simply "too busy" and they would put us on the schedule for the end of the week. We called and scheduled an appointment WAY ahead of time, we waited 3.5 weeks for the appointment, and we called ourselves to confirm 24 hours ahead of time and they simply bumped us. This is an emergency case at this point we will have been without AC for 4 weeks in 100+ degree heat, who the h*** are we getting bumped for? We called to speak to someone and were simply told that "a manager would call us back in 24-48 hours." Given that we never received an appointment confirmation, we never received an appointment cancelation and given that no one ever showed up after 3.5 weeks of waiting we are not holding our breath at all. So I asked who we should expect a call from, the woman wouldn't say, she said she was remote and that she had no idea of who would be calling us or how to reach someone directly." This company clearly spends all their money on advertising, and zero on business management. They are terribly run, and frankly, all their ads and their owners are straight-up liars because they speak to their reliability and friendly communication. Do yourself a favor and hire a REAL local professional versus a company run by narcissists who simply want to see themselves on TV every day and don't give a h*** about the people they are charging money to "help."

Purchased a brand new AC unit summer 2022. Had someone out just a month or so after installation when it abruptly stopped working. Radiant was relatively quick to send out a tech, and the issue was an error on the previous tech's install job. Not a huge deal, people make mistakes. Last night was the first night heat was required. Instead, it apparently blew cold air all night, and we woke up to a less than one year old unit that is somehow unable to heat our house. Do not recommend unless, like us, they are the only available option. They are responsive, which is nice, but I would vastly prefer a job done correctly the first time, especially with the amount it cost for the replacement. Update: had a tech out, same one as last time (thanks Ryan!), and the problem was once again an error during install (a board programmed incorrectly that was shutting off the heat when it got too cold outside). My initial issue stands. While the techs have all been friendly, and Ryan especially was awesome, the problem started at install. At the end of the day, my recommendation is this. If you want someone friendly and responsive, go for it. If you want it done right the first time, maybe find someone else. Summer 2023: AC is no longer cooling the upstairs, and we are hearing occasional grinding from the utility closet. We had a tech come out and tell us that the unit was absolutely working as intended, and there was nothing wrong. With the thermostat set to 75, the upstairs was at about 80-85 depending on the room. He declined to do anything about the grinding, on the premise that it was a new unit (just about a year old) and he didn't want to open it up and start poking around. He requested we try to record the sound, and then maybe he'd do something. About a week after he was out we noticed the white sealant above the unit our utility closet was separating from the ceiling and the UV Halo installed was literally dangling by a few strands of the same white stuff. Not sure how that was missed by someone who was supposed to be there looking for possible issues, but here we are. Radiant has thus far done nothing but cause issues. The unit we purchased, through them, on their recommendation, has had nothing but issues, though most have been human error. We have been told three times now that a manager will be reaching out to address our concerns, but have yet to hear from anyone. Strongly do not recommend.

RADIANT CONDUCTED ILLEGAL, UNPERMITTED WORK! RADIANT DID NOT INFORM US THAT THE WORK REQUIRED PERMITS! RADIANT IS AVOIDING ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE! We would have never agreed to allow Radiant to replace our ductwork if we had known that they were doing it illegally. Radiant, would you like to address why you did not acquire the legally required permits for the job we hired you for? The City of Austin has extremely strict permit laws and Radiant failed to acquire the legally required permits for the job we hired them for. Radiant is avoiding addressing our questions about the permits and is only offering $1000 of the $11,697.15 we are owed. We gave Radiant multiple opportunities over several months to revisit and fix issues with their ductwork install in our house. It was a nightmare to schedule any appointments, and none of the techs seemed to be fully aware of the situation when they arrived. After finding out Radiant’s techs were doing illegal, clearly incorrect work, we stopped working with Radiant and hired another company to finish the job and redo most of Radiant’s work. We spoke with an Austin City Inspector who confirmed that it was/is illegal for Radiant to conduct unpermitted work, and, after reviewing photos of the work, the inspector confirmed Radiant’s work on our house was done incorrectly and would not pass an inspection. We informed Radiant’s Customer Relations Specialist, Nicole, that their work was done without a permit and that it was incorrectly done, and we provided pictures of the incompetent and incomplete work. The HVAC Operations Director Ken Price responded by sending us their revised version of the timeline that ignored most of the issues we reported to them, and offered us a 9% refund as an apology without even acknowledging the unpermitted work. The attached photos show Radiant’s shoddy, illegal work. The attached screenshot from Austin’s public online permit search shows all permits opened for our address over the time we had Radiant work at our house, which includes a permit from the company who fixed Radiant’s work, but not a permit from Radiant. The attached email screenshot shows the HVAC Operations Director’s summary of the issues in a response to us, which does not even acknowledge the lack of permits or their blatantly incorrect work. It also shows him ignoring our entire nightmare experience with Radiant to only admit to a couple of scheduling errors. Don’t hire Radiant, unless you’re looking for illegal work with unacceptable results and no accountability.

My sewer line backed up and broke my wax ring in my toilet from sewage coming up. I fixed the wax ring in my toilet and when they came they then grabbed and shook my toilet which moved the wax ring and caused the toilet to start leaking when it wasn’t previously and then they proceeded to charge me $300+ to put a new one on (wax rings cost $1-$10 depending on what you’re getting). They then popped the sewer clog outside and used a video to check it out. The price they quoted me to fix it was outrageous ($6,000+ Compared to quotes I’ve been getting from other companies. Safe to say I won’t be calling this company again.

If you’re going to use Radiant, be aware that their post-purchase customer service is beyond deplorable! I had a brand new Goodman HVAC installed in June. With the cold front that came in on Nov. 11, I turned on the heat for the first time. The furnace promptly shut down a few moments later. The very first time I tried to use the new furnace, it FAILED! Radiant identified the problem as a manufacturer’s defect. As I told Radiant, I don’t fault them for a manufacturer’s defect, but how they handle correcting the defect is solely on Radiant. Well, Radiant FAILED miserably!!! It took 3 visits and five days to get the never-used furnace fixed. After each of the first two visits, I was told a part was required, but my repair would be noted as a “high priority” and “top priority” to get it fixed right away. In actuality, I found that my repair went back to the bottom of the stack for repairs the next day. At no time did Radiant follow up with me regarding the timing to complete the repair. I initiated all contact. I kept being told that the required part was either days away or had no known ETA. However, twice after escalating calls to managers, the required part was in hand less than an hour later. When it comes to follow-up and follow-through from Radiant, I cannot think of a worse experience than this one. If you’re going to use Radiant, follow these tips: 1. Don’t buy Goodman. I’m told there has been a spate of defects with their furnaces of late. 2. Be prepared to do your own follow up with Radiant to get the repair scheduled and completed. 3. Use the magic words, “I’d like to speak to your manager” as soon as you realize your repair is falling through the cracks.

The Radiant sales person came out to discuss the install and gave me a quote, they were going to use sub contractors one for electrical, second for the install and third for the HVAC, not to mention out of all the already quotes I received they were by far the highest at over $8k for a single install of just a mini split, pure ridiculous. The only one good thing I can say is that the sales person provided good sales service so I gave a 5 point on professionalism in that regard but I didn't use their service due to the price.

Our AC unit had died and we reached out to numerous companies. We went with Radiant thinking the extremely high added cost would ensure a smooth installation. This was far from the case. Our sales person in Austin sold us on the top of the line system they have and it wasn't cheap. Figured it was worth the money so we moved forward. The installers came and there was so much confusion. They were instructed to install an air intake next to an existing air intake which made no sense to even their supervisor. Next we were told our filtration system wouldn't fit and they couldn't install it. We called our sales person to discuss and were told instantly there was no compensation and it is what it is. We were told we were getting a filtration system they we just wash the filter off and don't have to replace it. Well, this was a lie because that wasn't the unit they brought. Installers couldn't get the system to work properly so they had to come back the next day. QC person comes the next day and informs me that the installers installed the dampers backwards, the wiring to the thermostats was wrong and the emergency shutoff wasn't even wired in. They tell me it's all good to go. Next day we come home from breakfast and our entire system is dead. Come to find out the installers and QC guy, never flushed our lines like we were told they would do. We should have stopped there, but we wanted to get the project done. About a week later we call the gas company to do an inspection to ensure the gas lines were hooked up properly. Gas company brings me to the attic to compliment me on a nice system we have, but also said "whoever installed this ripped you off and obviously doesn't know what they are doing". Soooo many broken seams, air leaks all over the place. The equipment was not in any way handled with care, even though we just spent $35,000 on 1 AC unit and furnace. They had to come back yet again and patch it all. The funny part was they had already completed 3 return trips to "fix and finish" the system. It took the gas company to show me what a poor job they did. So embarrassing. We highly discourage anyone from purchasing product from Radiant. The lack of customer support, the lies from the salesperson, the extremely inflated price, lack of a real quality QC process, added costs for things we didn't need. When we spoke to our sales person he even tried to pin half of the issues on us saying he didn't have enough time to do his initial inspection. This too was a lie seeing either myself or my wife were home, during his initial inspection, the entire time. Radiant was more about the dollar than the quality of their work. Completely disgusted with them. Nothing like feeling getting ripped off for a $35,000 system. Lastly we requested and itemized receipt so we can ensure we received everything we paid for. This has yet to happen. Hard to believe a 12 hour project, plus 4-5 return visits has 4 line items on the itemized receipt.

Radiant Plumbing & Air Conditioning. Got a new system installed by radiant. They had to remove some brick work to braze the copper pipe. So they installed the ac and left the brick work saying that they needed to find a brick. I told them its summer and it can rain anytime. "Please give me priority and get the brick installed as soon as possible". Its been 2 weeks now and it rained today. I am very disappointed by this company. Half work done and no priority given to work completion. I am not doing any business with this company going forward. Wont be recommending them either...When the guys installed the ac they said they would tape it up. However they put some pieces of plenum box material and covered it. It was not sealed. So I had to go and put duct tape and seal it. I have put a picture. If you zoom in you will see water drops. Had I not put all that f******* duct tape with that amazon bubble wrap.. All the water would be inside. I rushed out while it was raining and put that duct tape....Thank you Radiant for ruining my Sunday and raising my hopes with all your positive reviews. Mine sure is not..."This is very shoddy work by Radiant to say the least. Besides losing all the money I spent on the AC work done by them; it caused me great mental inconvenience and trauma to have to leave my work and rush outside to plug in the leak with my own bubble wrap and duct tape. Radiant didn’t provide me any value for money. But infact caused me a big waste as I had to waste my time, energy and materials to plug a leak which they should have taken care of when they were at my place. What a loss of $13,000 spent on them."

The technician that Radiant company sent to my house was named Mitchell Wilhelm. He was the most ignorant and inept technician I have dealt with. My AC was working but when he was changing the electrical cables he created a shortage of my unit damaging my fan motor!! He took no responsibility neither the company. They said all they could do was not charge me for the repairs!! How insulting! What repairs? They broke my AC when the temperature was 102 degrees! He simply left and I requested that the company sent another technician. Later I called and was told they didn’t have another technician to come over! I ended up hiring someone else, had to do a re- wiring to fix the damage done by Radiant technician and change the fan motor that the technician damaged. When I made a claim to the company they refused to accept any kind of responsibility. The WORSE company ever! And their Estimate out of this world!! They charged $850 to damage the cables. And wanted another $1,700 to replace the fan motor. The other company I hired charged only $500 to replace the fan motor !! Please save yourself some money and avoid headaches!! DONT TRUST RADIANT AC and PLUMBING!!!!

irst I want to say our experience with each, and I do mean EACH, of the Radiant employees who came to our home was an exceptional blend of friendly professionalism and enthusiastic education that was remarkably genuine.. In the “no service" customer service culture surrounding us these days, these guys really stood out...really! The process is complete, seamless, and thorough. I was educated (not pressured) and actually excited to spend money with THESE guys!! What does that tell you?! A plus, especially right now when many of us are staying home and you need to have this kind of work done, they were also very respectful of our carpet, furniture and work areas, minimizing messes and cleaning up completely. Sooo . . . MAJOR kudos and shouts out to Cameron, Drew (hey!), Tim (hey!), Calvin, Jose, and Andry. Great guys, great company, and let’s not forget all the advertising… don’t let the light hearted nature fool you or put you off in anyway. These guys are SERIOUS about their business and their reputation. Let them prove it to you, we’re glad we did! Staying in AND staying cool in south Austin!!😎

Travis and Dave arrived on time, and walked through a few small tests. The city utilities had told me I probably had a leak under my foundation because my water bill had jumped up incredibly. The guys showed me the meter, explained how it works, and said that they would perform the test, but didn't think I had a leak. So I declined the expensive test. They had pointed out some small leaks and things that needed attention, and I had been considering getting a new toilet so I went ahead with the small repairs and the very nice new toilet. In all, less than 2 hours from start to finish; clean professional techs. Do I think they are a little pricey? Yes. BUT I got next day service and did stuff for me that I either didn't know how to do, or didn't want to do. So, thumbs up.

I’m so disappointed. I’ve had such great results with Angie’s list. I’m not sure how these guys are even listed here. We had a plumbing issue that ended up being a simple fix. Paid nearly $700 to these guys and the guy that fixed it charged only $170 and FIXED it. They wouldn’t return calls. Didn’t stand behind their work. Within 48 hours we had exact same issue and they never offered to come look at it again. Disappointed in Angie’s list for having them on here and very disappointed with the service especially after the fancy radio ads they run. Will never use them again.

They offered a lower price on the unit and its installation than competitors, and I felt that the technician at the time (this was in 2012) was knowledgeable. There was some confusion in that I was charged for a programmable thermostat that they forgot to install, but they ended up making it right. However, this year, the mini-split broke. At my request, my property manager called out Radiant again. They told us the compressor had failed and there was a freon leak, and that it would cost $6K to repair (almost double the original installation cost). We asked them to provide an estimate for a replacement. They kept promising a callback but never actually called. Well, it's fortunate that they didn't return our calls, because during that time I realized the unit — built by Mitsubishi — was still under a parts warranty. When I called Radiant to ask about the warranty, they seemed totally uninterested in dealing with it. So instead, I called Mitsubishi, and they recommended someone. The people who ended up coming out were prompt, and moreover quoted me $180 for a freon charge and leak check. The final price ended up being under $300, and it turns out the compressor wasn't broken after all. I don't know how Radiant dropped the ball on this one, but I won't be using them again. It's unacceptable to quote me $6K for repairs on something that (a) they installed for far less, (b) is still under warranty, and (c) isn't actually broken. Moreover, they failed at returning calls promptly (or at all). It was stressful and disappointing.
Description of Work: Radiant installed a mini-split heating/air conditioning unit several years ago; it broke, so I called them for service.

Overpriced for poor service. They tried very dumb method to looking for pipe leak. Never able to find it. Total waste of money. I hired another company, they locate the leakage with much better equipment for the same price.

They did well and helped us put back our new landscaping. My only objection was when they completed the job they left debris behind, and we now have to use the W bag and have them come out to pick it up. It also took some time to get them to come back and cut off the clean out valves.
Description of Work: We needed a new sewer line from the house to the street.

I've been a contractor for 42 years and know unethical business practices when I see it. Radiant has and continues to take advantage of my sister to the tune of almost $30,000. She suffers from anxiety and severe PTSD and was easily manipulated. $2,000 just to install 5 toilets? And that doesn't include delivery!!! $3,740.43 to clean and video 6 pipes? They were to have provided a written report for me to review and after 7 months I have yet to receive a single word! She thought she was signing completion papers for toilet installs less than a week ago and realized it was a 50% down payment for $25,000 to replace a poorly draining pipe only when the credit card company asked if it was a legitimate charge (two other plumbers from other companies said the toilet replacement alone would have solved the drainage issue)! They advertise on frequently on KLBJ radio and all I can say is that I was mislead by the kind words of the on-air personalities ...

The plumber spoke poorly of his employer. The plumber was disgruntled I would say, and he told us all about it. It was just kind of weird and unnecessary. We just got that off the internet. We heard them on the radio and they were local, so we just went with them. As for quality, well it still works, so an A, I suppose. For responsiveness an A - they were out here pretty quick.
Description of Work: This was for repair of a cut-off valve and a leak in the dishwasher.

They told us to tighten a washer...that could have been communicated over the phone. The washer never stays tight and faucet gets loose constantly.
Description of Work: Adjusting kitchen faucet after a new one was previously installed by Radiant.
