I scheduled an AC tune up and inspection visit and repeatedly got rescheduled, once the day before, once at the end of a day of waiting for service call (I had to call to see if they were coming), and once about an hour before the scheduled time. This would have been a big problem if I were taking time off work to meet them; however, it was still an inconvenience to rearrange my days over and over without them making it out. If this hadn't occurred so many times, I would've rated with straight A's since the service was excellent once technician got out to my house. The technician was thorough, professional and knowledgeable.

Discovered my water heater leaking slightly and called my home warranty company. They gave me a list of recommended plumbers in my area. Called the first one they gave me, their "highest rated" contractor who will remain nameless in this review. The plumber answered "Hello?" instead of a more professional greeting. Already having a bad feeling about this particular company, I was hesitant to schedule with them. I started asking questions regarding timeline for replacement and it was a minimum of three days, and that was if they had the right heater in stock. I didn't get a chance to get a ballpark quote because this shady character would not directly answers any questions about price. On top of this, the gentleman was very condescending during the conversation, he definitely had some sort of "plumber-god complex." Going with my instincts, I did not schedule with them and called Radiant, and things began looking up right away. Radiant has a knack for making you feel good about working with them. The call was immediately picked up by their answering service (it was after normal working hours) with a pleasant operator on the other end. I described the problem and she scheduled Woody to come assess the situation the following morning at 8:30am. Woody was running a bit late that morning, but Radiant's dispatch service called prior to the scheduled meeting time to let me know he was running 15 minutes late. He arrived 2 minutes late. Never have I experienced a contractor in any field that could compare to Woody. He is very pleasant and knowledgable and will provide excellent running commentary on the work he is currently performing in his English accent. He quickly assessed the situation and determined what repairs needed to be done. In 15 minutes, I had a written quote in my hand listing at least 6 different options. I chose a pricier option that would make my system 100% code compliant. There was a low end option for just replacing the water heater; however, I wanted the job done right. So I opted for the high efficiency Rheem, with new ball cutoff valve, new gas lines, new expansion tank, new drain pan, new moisture sensor, and automatic shutoff solenoid valve. Woody also repaired the flue gas vent pipe to ensure proper placement over the heater outlet. Woody completed the work in about 3 hours. He moved my washer and dryer to allow for water heater access, including properly disconnecting and reconnecting the supply and drain hoses. He made sure to coordinate with me when the water main was shut off. He kept the area clean, and actually swept out the water heater closet before installing the new heater. This has been the best experience I have ever had with a contractor, I cannot stress enough. Woody is the man. This company strikes an excellent balance between professionalism and humor. The work and service is outstanding and a couple of candid photos of him are featured on his service truck; one of him lovingly embracing a toilet, and another with him boldly "calling his shot" Babe Ruth style with a plunger. My experience was outstanding and well worth the money. I have never been so happy to drop so much cash on a home project! The peace of mind that my new code-compliant system brings is priceless. Radiant is an fabulous company and they have without a doubt earned a customer for life!
Description of Work: Replace 27 year old water heater that began leaking. Correctwater heater flue gas exhaust issues, installed new ball cutoff valve, new gas lines, new flex copper supply lines, new expansion tank, drain pan, moisture sensor, and automatic cutoff valve that shuts a battery operated solenoid valve if leak is detected. Made water heater system 100% code compliant.

First visit was initiated be a deal on Angie's list for a home inspection, including a water heater cleaning. All went well, water heater cleaned and the rest of the plumbing was given a clean bill of health. I did get a quote for a circulating system that enabled faster access to hot water for our bathroom on the far end away from the water heater. In this visit, the plumber was prompt, courteous and did a good job. The quote was reasonable, but we let a few weeks go by before acting on it. The second visit didn't go as smoothly. I had the need to have a water line installed for a new refrigerator and gave Radiant a call. And since we were getting a plumber out, figured it was a good time to get the circulation system installed. This time, a different plumber came out who was prompt and professional. The problem was with the quote - he re-quoted a circulation system that was double the price that the original plumber had quoted. We had to produce the original quote and it was ultimately honored, but it took, in my opinion, a bit too much wrangling since I would have hoped that the quote would have been recorded somewhere. Also, the quote for the water line seemed a bit high, and with the other quote coming in high, I was uncomfortable that this was the correct pricing. So, in the end, I went ahead and completed all the work and the work seemed to have been completed promptly and well. I never got a satisfactory answer as to why the circulation system was quoted so high, something that he didn't know that the original system that was quoted was available to him. That said, we did resolve all this in one visit, so it never made sense to me that if the system was not known to the plumber, how is it that he was able to install it without having to get a new circulation system. So, I would recommend Radiant - they are prompt and their plumbers are courteous and professional. I just have reservations regarding their pricing given my experience with the different quotes from different plumbers.
Description of Work: First visit was a water heater cleaning and overall plumbing inspection. Got a quote for a hot water circulating system for a bathroom at the far end of the house away from the water heater. Second visit was to install a water hookup for a refrigerator and to follow up on the installation of the circulating system.

Things were great. I had to be re-scheduled, as my inspection was not an emergency. But I understand that being in Texas. The tech was very friendly, and took a look at everything. Even letting me look over his shoulder a bit, so that I might learn some new things to watch for. He was up in the attic twice, and even provided a small PVC cap for one of my drain lines...that he happened to have. I really appreciated that. He said all looked perfectly normal...and was on his way! I thought everything would be fine, as my system is relatively new, but I just want to keep up with things.
Description of Work: This was a simple yearly inspection. The tech climbed up in the attic, checked everything there, and then went outside and checked everything there.

The person was very professional, clean, and friendly and did a great job. He did not try and sell me other things. We decided on our own to take out the service plan because we have the AC and Heater checked every year and this would pay for itself. The service woman who answered the phone was very nice. I would give them an all around excellent rating.

They were very overpriced. I won't use them again because of their pricing. It turned out that I needed a new water heater and they charged me quite a bit more than my regular plumber would have. It is a smaller water heater.

Tim not only did the work we had requested but when he did an inspection he found a crack in our garbage disposal that we had not noticed previously. We had noted a leakage under the sink but could not find the source. He had the parts available on his truck to replace it with a choice of a system similar to what we had or a better/larger unit. We went twith the smaller unit becaue if fit our usage better. He did not push to up sell the other unit.
Description of Work: I called the company and they were able to get someone out the next day. Tim was my serviceman and was very professional and prompt in arriving. We had purchased a package deal from Angie's list for a full house inspection. We also wanted some faucets repaired or replaced.

I called these guys to ask how much a basic water heater replacement would be. They wanted to talk about it in person, which is the first bad sign. They arrived on time and professional. Even took their shoes off, which was probably the second bad sign. We went over what I needed, man went to truck for quite a while and came back with some "options". Naturally in his opinion I needed a bunch of work, not just a new water heater. The first option was $13,000 or some ridiculous amount, and it went down from there. Finally I asked him how much to do what I called him for which is install an all electric water heater. His price was over $800 as I recall. I literally laughed in his face. Let me emphasize, this is just for the install, not including the water heater. I asked him to explain how he could possibly justify charging more than twice as much as Sears or Home Depot or any other place and he went on about how they replace the lines ($20) and guarantee their work. Listen I'm sure they do a great job, and they are diligent, etc, but it is clear by reading these reviews that they are just taking advantage of people. Installing a water heater is hardly a difficult task. You don't need to pay $800 for it. Furthermore they tried to get me to spend $13,000 fixing things that did not need to be fixed. The next plumber I had come out told me that although he agreed my system wasn't perfect (water pressure into house was a little high) he saw no need to go through the effort and expense to fix such a minor problem. His quote to fix it was also well under half theirs. In the end I decided my house is over 25 years old, the "problem" has always been there and heck I have two water heaters that were original so it certainly was not affecting that. I would recommend you keep looking, there are more honest and much more affordable options out there.

Radient Plumbing had a special on Home air conditioning tune ups. Their stated price was $69.00. These two units had not been tuned since last spring. I called Radient (who is located in Austin, Tx.) and asked if this applied to the surrounding area, and was told yes. I live in Lakeway, Tx. which is approximately 25 miles ffrom Austin. I asked the young lady if the $69.00 applied to two units, and she said no, it was for each unit. I said okay, since I was still going to get the service for half price. Radient showed up about 45 minutes later and the ac specialist immediately went to work, and finished the tune up in about 40 or 45 minutes. This tune up included a trip into the attic, which was probably 110 degree. After he finished and handed me the bill, the total was for $69.00. When I asked him about it, he said that the owners had determined that the ad was misleading, and that they were honoring the $69.00 price, no matter how many units a person had. I am sure Radient took a beating on a lot of calls, because of time and distance, and at that time paying faround $3.55 per gallon for gasoline to fill their vans. I would reccomend them to anyone, and will use them for any job they do, that I would need a service for.

We planned major renovations for a new house. Marcel Lavallee was in charge of all plumbing issues. The team did an excellent job and I found each worker friendly, skilled and hard working. Marcel spent many days at the house, completing most work himself. He provided excellent ideas with our kitchen and two bathroom upgrades. I am unable to compare the price of the work, because we only obtained one quote - but we found Marcel so professional and knowledgeable, that we went with Radiant. The complete work was excellent and passed city inspection effortlessly.

I contacted Radiant due to some of the reviews on Angies List. The service man that came out was dead on, the unit was old and assisted me with financing of a new unit. Five days later a new unit arrived and it was installed. It was a simple cut and dry meets non invasiveness. The only thing I was asked for was a bucket, it was no big deal. No over fake smiling, it was great customer service.

Overall, Tim was conscientious and thorough and I would be pleased to have him do any future work for me. My only down-rating was for for the all-day wait which, considering the urgency of the problem, was entirely satisfactory. Further, the coupon price of $99 was an outstanding value!
Description of Work: On 6/14 I experienced a blocked kitchen sink drain. After my attempts to clear it myself failed, I decided to take advantage of a $99 Big Deal coupon which included drain cleaning plus camera inspection by Radiant. I called Radiant and was informed that they could send someone the next day after a couple of morning appointments. They said I would be called 30-45 minutes before the technician arrival. By 2pm I had heard nothing so I called for a status check and was informed that it would be another hour before the tech could make it. At 3pm "Tim" called to say he was on his way. He asked for some details about my problem and said he would have to return to his shop for another piece of equipment. He finally arrived at 4pm. He proceded to run a power auger approximately 70 feet down the drain which cleared the blockage, then ran the camera probe down in order to make sure the drain was fully cleared. The camera probe contains a radio transmitter; using a hand-held sensor he then traced the position of the probe to the point where the drain emerged from under the slab, which he noted "for future purposes". Good idea! The job was completed about 5:30pm.

Heard on the radio they now service AC units. We had a bird's nest in our duct work. In the exhaust fan duct going from our 1st story bathroom to the exterior. About 5 feet of duct work. Explained we wanted it completely cleaned out and/or replaced if need be. Asked if they serviced my area, they said they would do it. Great. Tech came out a couple of days later on a Monday. Nice guy. He didn't have any tools to do the job. Used my ladder, Ok. But didn't have anything to pick out the nesting material out of the duct work with. Borrowed a gardening tool to do the job and a golf club. Then sucked out what he could with a shop vac. Recommended a wire basket to prevent future infestations. With such delicate tin foil duct work, I can't believe he didn't have a tool to clean it properly. He also didn't remove the bathroom fan to check that it was cleared or run a cleaning tool through the entire run to remove alll the nesting. Remember we gave him the ok to replace the exhaust line if necessary. My wife told me what he did and I was furious he didn't have tools to completely clean the duct. It's unprofessional to use a garden tool the customer supplies. Emailed the owners wife at Radiant to express my dissatisfaction, never heard back. Very different customer service from what the commercials portray. So here is my review.
Description of Work: Hired them to clean the bathroom exhaust line. We had birds nesting in the ductwork and wanted it thoroughly cleaned and/or replaced. Whatever it took. He came with no tools to do the job and didn't thorougly inspect the line. Nice receptionist and tech, but he didn't do the job. The owner did not respond to my emails either.

Hi there! Thanks for the feedback. I'm so sorry you thought I was ignoring your email. On the positive side of the experience, I had an Angie's List coupon for the tune-up, and as far as I can tell that work was completed correctly for the price I paid. The technician was nice enough and worked quickly. My A/C seems to be working fine at this point. On the other hand, I did have issues with the repair. First, the technician was confused (his words) and unsure about how to price my job. No one at the office seemed able to answer my questions, and kept referring me back to the technician. When I got the bill, it literally didn't add up to the price charged. Second, he told me the motor would need to be replaced (for $250) until my husband pointed out that it was still under warranty. We ended up not paying for the part, but we did pay for labor. Third, he was several hours late to complete the job (although he was on time for the first visit) and the only reason I knew when to expect him was that I called the company when he didn't show up. We were very busy and had a lot going on, so I do not fault the company for all of the communication problems. I don't feel that we were charged an exorbitant amount--as far as I can tell, about $179 for travel and diagnosis of problem, plus $100 for labor. Overall, a fair job, but I would have preferred clearer communication about the charges.

David arrived on time and was very professional and personable. He looked at all of our problems and wrote several estimates beginning with most expensive which included a tankless water heater to least expensive which was replacing the same size water heater tank. These estimates included the labor and the various repairs to the bathrooms. We chose the mid-range estimate because it took care of our needs. Replacing the water heater was the most labor intensive. He had to raise the heater 18" inches, cut 2 exhaust holes in the outside wall and install a drain pan and tube to outside wall. Everything was finished in a timely manner and the work was excellent. I definitely will be using Radiant for my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Our water heater was 14 years old and not up to code. The pipe under one of our bathroom sinks had corroded and was leaking, one toilet needed repair as did the shower knob in one of the bathrooms.

I will not use them or call them again ever.
Description of Work: I was very impressed by the comments on Angie's list. I was also impressed with the follow through and the professionalism. Marcel was very polite and informative. Where the stink comes in is the high pressure to make a decision over 6 or seven options on the spot. We do not work that way. We like to weigh our options and make a solid decision for us financially and feel we will get the quality we expect. I was shocked when Marcel said he could not leave the options with us, but would be happy to come back and go over them. Based on the high pressure nature and the fact that we paid the $39 and have nothing to look at, we will not move forward with Radiant. I had thought earlier since one of my responsibilities is facilities at my office, I would use Radiant for work as well due to the follow through. I don't make snap decisions at work either, so I will not be calling again.

I got them from Angie's List. I bought one of those Angie's deals for $99 for $200 worth of plumbing, and I did not have to pay any additional. They were very good, timely and very clean. Even thou my original plan was to get a tank-less water heater for the fact i wanted instant hot water, they told me that that wasn't really the best case for that. So they recommended getting a pump that will circulate the hot water thou out the house and be instant at the tap. Also they worked with my A/C and said that who ever installed the them last didn't install a filter/dryer and that my lines were clogging up. So they worked with me on the price and did a bundle price. Also the pump i got installed was well worth it, I am now getting hot water instantly! It took an average of over a minute before it even got hot, now I get it in a matter of seconds. I'm still thinking about getting the tankless water heater, but that will be a bit down the road. I am very happy with their service and will for sure use them again if anything else arises! Thanks again fellas!!!

Thou I am currently in Afghanistan, my sister was the one who dealt with them personally. They came right on out and looked things over and gave me a price right away. After that I told them i wanted to give it some more time before i decided. Let me just say these guys took great care of me and worked with me even thou i am deployed. They kept in contact with me and always came up with some really good proposals and really wanted my business. Well after about 2 months of going back and forth and trying to decide, they wanted to do a conference call on Skype with me. Not to mention among all of this my A?C was acting up so i had them come out and look at that as well. Once we did the conference call they went over all the details and options. And Let me say, even thou it was a bit pricey, they ensured me they would take care of everything, and that when i got home, i would be very happy. So i went ahead and set them up. And lets just say from what my sister is saying, it was well worth it. Thanks guys for a great job! Highly recommend!!!

I don't recall ever writing a review before. Perhaps because I don't recall any previous mechanical systems calls going so well. Initially, there was some confusion with the office about the day and time. But, despite being under a shorter than usual time window, Joey T. and David got everything done quickly, pleasantly and professionally. I am very pleased. Not only will I call Radiant again, I will request Joey and David.
Description of Work: HVAC - serviced all components. Advised about potential future parts replacement to be considered. Plumbing - Repaired leak and replaced flush valve in one toilet. Cleaned out kitchen faucet to improve flow. Inspect all other plumbing.
