+ -1 moreThey promised us it could be done in one day and it is finally completed (with several additional trips to fix and re-do the original work) after a month. The original plumber ran a 1.5 inch gas line across the front wall of our house where no new gas line was necessary. It was an eyesore. We did not receive a contract detailing what his costs or the terms of our agreement. Even the team who came to fix the bad job put a red 2 ft long pressure release nozzle on my back patio at eye level with my toddler. They did not seal the vent pipe in the roof and we got rain in our attic. I would not use this company again for anything. The owner Brad got involved and was very polite. He has been very kind and responsive to our calls and emails to fix the original problem. He and his staff really has put forth a lot of effort to "make it right." I just want a plumber who can do it right the first time and not waste so much time cause so much wear to our house.
Description of Work: We replaced a broken water hearter with tankless and moved it to the attic.

+ 0 moreI had two water heaters replaced. One didn't have enough capacity to fill the bathtub, which I felt the technician should have recognized up front. They had to return and replace one heater with a much larger one. The quote for the second replacement penalized me for the first heater and the tech did not want to credit the first heater toward the replacement. I called the office and talked with the manager and he was very nice and adjusted the contract to what it would have been if it was done right. They are a reputable company.
Description of Work: The service was great and very professional. Prices are way high.

Our shower drain had been a big problem and nothing took care of it until they came. They were prompt and professional. They didn't try to sell additional services -- they simply to do what they promised to do and did it well.

+ 1 moreEasy scheduling. Generous introductory Angie's list special. Very professional plumber and good equipment. Thorough diagnostic process with good communication regarding findings in non-technical terms. Good maintenance plan. Wide array of upgrades for plumbing and HVAC. Had high end tankless water heater installed. Usual remodel issues were dealt with in same day installation with no "add on" costs beyond original bid. Not the cheapest bid but the bid didn't change when the inevitable "uh oh" appeared in the older house installation process.
Description of Work: Did a drain unclog which turned into a very involved exposition of the condition of 2/3 of my drain system. Determined the fall of the line and the old cast iron piping were creating the soft buildup clogging condition. Will have to clean the line annually because the previous "repair" did not fix the fall problem nor clear out the old pipe build up when they had a straight shot into the system. Replaced the tank water heater with a tankless system.

They gave a complete report to me from long distance since I was not in Austin at the time. They have a good warranty as well.

He recommended some other work and got more money out of me because they pointed out a few other things that they could do. I did let them do it and paid them extra for it. They explained what they were doing, cleaned up, and explained all the repairs that they made. I liked the way they did that and I think with the coupon it was a very good deal. They also did a good job.

+ -1 morePoorly. After we did our homework, we found that their service provider was dead wrong on all of his recommendations. Call someone else.
Description of Work: A service provider from Radiant came out to take a look at our tankless water heater, which had stopped functioning suddenly. We were given two quotes for the job, one to "fix" the water heater, and one to replace it entirely. We were told that the water heater was installed improperly, never had been serviced, and was a brand that he would not ever install. We were strongly encouraged to do the complete replacement of the water heater, which would have run us about $6000. We also got a recommendation to add a chlorinator to our rainwater collection system. We decided to do a little research ourselves, and found out that the water heater was installed properly, and needed no servicing. We also found that we were low on propane and that the water heater had shut itself off. RADIANT DID NOT EVEN CHECK THE PROPANE SUPPLY TO THE WATER HEATER!!! Long story short, we did our homework, refilled the propane tank, turned the water heater back on, and everything is fine. These guys were trying to rip us off to the tune of thousands of dollars! The recommendation to put a chlorinator on the rainwater collection system was also completely off base, it could RUIN much of the equipment involved. I highly recommend that you call someone else, don't be duped because you are unfamiliar with fixing plumbing problems. If we had gone with his recommendations, we still would not have had hot water and would have spent $6000.

+ 0 moreSo far, so good. The installation was low stress and Marcel was friendly and engaging. Time will tell, but he gave me his 24-hour phone number for any emergencies. I will definitely use Radiant again should the need arise!
Description of Work: Marcel came out and diagnosed our leaking water heater as basically kaput and discussed affordable, quality options. He did promote and recommended an additional piece of equipment/service,, and after I did some research and declined he said no more about it and remained engaging and friendly. He was visibly conscientious and careful about cleanliness and left the hallway in which the water heater was located cleaner than it was before he installed the new one. He explained the process of removal, installation and ongoing maintenance in easily understandable terms and taught me how to troubleshoot and to operate the computer control system on the heater.

+ -1 moreI called to schedule an appointment to unstop a toilet, and to replace the inner workings in the toilet tank. The technician came promptly, but then spent considerable time trying to convince me to replace the entire toilet. After I repeatedly said no, he gave me a price structure on the various services he could provide. I chose not the lowest but the one next to it. After working on the toilet for a few minutes, he said he would have to replace the water turnoff valve, which was going to add an additional $200 to the price. When I expressed dismay, he said he would call the office to get the price reduced. We finally agreed on a price and he did the job promptly and very well. I was very satisfied with his work and I am happy to have the toilet working again, will all new parts, but I did not appreciate the hard sell. While they did good work, I probably will not use them again because of their price. They are not the most expensive but they are definitely not a good bargin. Plus, the hard sell is a real turn off. A representative called me later to check on the job. She also wanted me to sign up for their monthly service contract. I was hesitant and did not do it since it was obvious she was calliing from a personal cell phone. The company name did not come up on caller ID, which made me suspicious.
Description of Work: Unstopped a toilet, replaced the inner workings in the toilet tank, replaced the water turnoff valve next to the toilet.

The only reason I grade this experience out as a "B" is because they originally set my expectation for same day completion at a price about $400 less than I ended up paying. Again, once the Radiant team figured out what was actually required, they were very diligent, informative and efficient ... just that initial misfire had me off center for an extra day or so.
Description of Work: The water heater died on Sunday night. I contacted Radiant and they had somebody out by mid morning the following day (great response). All the folks involved were very punctual and professional, but there was a small mistake in the service team's original assessment (they did not realize the water heater was a direct vent propane unit) and that caused an additional day of delay for the replacement and some additional dollars. To be fair the $ increase was not their fault and Radiant did get aggressive on the pricing to try and offset the mistake.

+ 0 moreWe came home from traveling on New Year's Day to find our hot water heater broken. Based on Angie's List reviews we chose Radiant. They sent someone out to our house in a little over an hour. He was able to replace our hot water heater as well as take care of a few other minor plumbing issues (small things for which we wouldn't call a plumber to the house but we figured while he was here it couldn't hurt). He fixed our other plumbing issues as well. All in all he was at our home for about 6 hours. It's been a little over a week and so far everything seems to be in working order. We're also VERY appreciative that they did a service call on New Year's Day. We were also having a problem with our bathroom sink not draining, but rather than snaking it and charging us, Tim just used our shop vac and cleaned it out free of charge. It drains normally now. Tim was also polite and pleasant, which goes a long way. Overall it was a good experience.
Description of Work: We had our broken hot water heater removed and a new one installed. Additionally he fixed some wonky plumbing under our kitchen sink and snaked a drain in our bathroom.

+ -1 moreWhen the gentleman arrived he spent the first 15-30 minutes trying to sell me other services and stating why he didn't think he could install the replacement. After I kept telling him no to every service he wanted to sell, he settled in and did the replacement. It took him a matter of minutes and he had none of the problems he warned me he would have. So while the end product was exactly what I had hoped for, I really did not appreciate the hard sell on all the other services.
Description of Work: I bought a deal for outdoor faucet replacement. I had an old faucet that leaked and was at an odd angle, so it was difficult to attach hoses, or a hose timer. The new faucet has a simple lever and while it is too close to the wall, it was easy to add an elbow so that I could attach the hose timer.

Description of Work: Our small hot water heater was draining outside the house. We called Reliant. They came over in a few hours, after some misunderstandings about when they promised to come. They reviewed our options with us for different sized water heaters and helped us make a choice. It was replaced the next day. I was pleased with their service, professionalism and their knowledge of products.
