We have used Radiant many times over the past several years and they have done a good job for us. They can be pricey on some things but overall I think they are in line with other plumbing and AC services. They continue to be our "go-to" service company.

HORRIFICALLY expensive. Ridiculous. Appraiser that gave us quote made us think the work involved was much more complex than it turned out to be. He talked about removing any right angles and so on - complete hooey. Very simple line move...hardest work was digging for a new placement. The work went poorly as they first did not complete job correctly but were very responsive and a supervisor came out with a problem solver and they got it done quickly and correctly the second time. Very disappointing to think it is so very easy to get ripped off by contractors because they KNOW we do not have the expertise for plumbing and gas issues... I kept asking why so expensive for about 6 man hours of work and never received an answer. Never will use this contractor again - and I thought I was going local for help since they just opened an office in Bee Cave - my bad - did not realize just another average large contractor company. My problem could actually lie only with the original appraiser but the owners never returned my call to explain the expense. We feel like it was about a $600-800 job at most. On their contract they ask to be contacted on any issues and they never called me back so...dunno.
Description of Work: Moved approx. eight feet of propane gas line away from patio by 2 feet. First did not complete job properly and they were very responsive to get back out and complete properly.

We apologize that you are not happy with the work that you had us do for you. We would love to talk to you to get some feedback on what has changed since we were out last. I am sorry that your request for a call back didn’t get answered. We seem to have misplaced that message and for that we are sorry. When we came back out to move the gas line around both posts of the gazebo like you wanted, we went ahead and moved the water line for you as well free of charge as a token of good will. I hate that after we left you became unhappy with the work again. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience to discuss the matter further. Thank you

The staff were professional and prompt. They scheduled quickly and arrived on time. They explained everything they were doing and answered all our questions. It was determined based on their inspection that our waste line needed to be replaced. They got us an estimate for the work very quickly. However, after getting three other bids for the work, we discovered that their estimate for the job was almost twice as much than the other companies. We ended up hiring someone else to do the job and all ended well (and we saved almost $4K!)

I had purchased an Angie's List deal for a $142 outdoor faucet replacement. When the plumber arrived, he noted that the water pressure from the street was much too high and the existing cut off valve was leaking. He said he could replace both, but it was a "big job", so it would be expensive. As I had observed the same problems in the past, I agreed to the additional work, mostly to avoid having to coordinate another visit in the future. I had expected the work to take at least half of the day, but everything was complete and working within 2 hours. A little google research after the fact leads me to think that the cost of the additional work to install the pressure regulator and new cutoff valve was exorbitant. The new parts together sell for under $200 at Home Depot, leaving a charge of around $725 for 2 hours of labor.

I was surprised when I heard about the difference between what the ad said and what the company said. Was not clearly described in the ad, I found the ad very confusing. Thought I was paying for one kind of service and that was not entirely the case.

My house is less than 1000 sq ft, and the length of the pipe replaced outside was about 3-4 ft. He also told me (without testing first) that the p-traps under my tub and washing machine were collapsed, and the slab needed to be jack-hammered and the trap replaced (he didn't tell me how much that would cost). He also said he would bring my natural gas pipes up to code for $6500. Perhaps this would be a good plumber for wealthy people, but not for a middle class person working for a non-profit.
Description of Work: I was told they snaked all of my pipes. I watched the repairman put in new shut-off valves (outside) to the tune of $3400!!!

It went very well. Cobey offered a possible solution that would cost a lot less and had a relatively low chance of working, but we simply wanted to move on because the hot water heater will eventually wear out because we weren't servicing it like we should have. I would definitely recommend Radiant and I would request Cobey.
Description of Work: Assessed our plumbing issues and recommended replacing the hot water heater. I spoke with 2 other plumbers and all made the same recommendation. Replaced a toilet flapper and flushed the lines after installation.

I've had another plumber that I've used for years. He had great prices, but he was not always reliable on getting to the house or answering calls. I called Radiant and they were able to come out when I needed them. They came out with a truck that had many parts on it. They were also able to get a couple other people out there when the work escalated to include a replacement of the water heater. The workers were all friendly and seemed knowledgeable. They got everything done on time. The only real negative was their prices. I was frankly stunned when I got their bids. They worked with me a bit on the price when I added in the water heater and I appreciate that. However, they were still pretty pricey compared to what I normally pay. If you have a job that can possibly wait a few days, then you can likely find a plumber to do the work for cheaper. Radiant may be a good option if you are willing to pay up for better responsiveness.

We had water seeping to the surface in our front yard, indicating a water main break. We called Radiant Plumbing to give an estimate and the plumber that came quoted a $2384 price for a "primary leak repair package." When I questioned the high price he explained that he would have to install an owner shut off valve that was required by code and that there was a lot of risk in the repair because they would be using the utility company's shut off valve (until mine was installed) and it could break (he said it was delicate, with a repair cost in the thousands). I told him I would need another estimate before deciding. While waiting for the second plumbing company to arrive, I called my utility co. to verify his statements. The owner shut off valve is not required by code, just a "nice to have" and my utility co. said there's nothing delicate about their valve - it will withstand turning off and on repeatedly if necessary. The second plumbing company came out, located the break and repaired it for a cost of $457.

Unfortunately, when our house was built, the connector used to connect the city PVC water line to the house copper line was NOT a metal connector, so after years of pressure, it started to leak. Radiant came out and slogged through the soupy mud to find and fix the problem. It was a filthy mess, but it was taken care of. They also helped to prepare a statement for the city so that we could receive a reimbursement. Radiant is a bit pricey, but well worth the cost! I have NEVER had any problem with anyone who has come out to work with us. They are THE BEST!!

The plumber showed up about 2 hours late for the first appointment of the morning. He was courteous and professional and did a good job of explaining technical details. He estimated it would be $1608 to replace a 12" PVC pipe, add a shutoff valve and a pressure reducing valve for the main water line at the street. $1600 seemed way too high. I asked for a cost material/labor cost breakdown, but he was just quoting numbers from a price book and couldn't provide more details. I rejected the work based on price and he waived the $39.95 appointment fee. I called another plumber who made the same diagnosis and recommendations for $433 after applying a first time customer 10% discount.

The first person who came out said he was not a licensed plumber and could not determine the kitchen drain line problem, so he called the actual plumber to come out. Meanwhile, he attempted to unclog our bathroom sink drain, and although he was not successful, he did break the pipe under the sink. He did not have a matching pipe to replace it with, so he told my wife to go to a hardware store and buy a pipe to fit and he would call her the next day and return to install the pipe. My wife bought a variety of pipes and washers since she had no idea as to what would be needed. He has never called or returned to fix the pipe. When the plumber came, he located the kitchen drain line problem, marked the ground above the areas that needed to be dug up, wrote an estimate for the two areas that needed repair, and had my wife phone me at work so he could explain the problems. After we spoke I said that I would discuss it with my wife when I got home, and he said he would call me a on the following Friday and see what we had decided. This all happened about six weeks ago, and no one has called us yet. My son attached one of the bathroom sink pipes my wife had bought, and although it still leaks, at least we can use the sink with a bucket underneath. The kitchen drain line still needs to be repaired, but I would not use this plumbing company for any further services for obvious reasons.

Plumbers worked hard to hand clear tree roots. Supervisor used camera to show me a clog down the line and tried to sell me thousands of dollars of additional services. He told the plumbers to pack up and did not let them run their rooter to the clog. The line was not running when they left. Five minutes of my effort with a garden hose and the line opened up nicely. It's still running freely a month later.

Great. All work was completed in one day and plumber arrived at our home at 6:45AM to accommodate our need to get to work. Pleasant workers, cleaned everything up nicely when finished.
