Description of Work: Replaced (3) 20 year old garage doors and openers with new. The new doors and openers are great. Much better insulation and MUCH quieter. Plus the motion detection lights really light up the whole garage whenever I go out there. |The only negative is that they took longer than estimated and when they finally came they were the wrong doors (we ordered top of the line and these were lesser doors). We then waited another couple of weeks until the right doors came in. Installation went smoothly and we are very happy with the result.

Description of Work: Overall very satisfied. Repaired garage door that came off track on July 4 evening. They responded quickly and it was fixed within an hour or two from when I made the call. They did quality work and pointed out things that need to be looked at in the future. I felt the price was a little high but then again I called them on July 4th evening so I knew it was not going to be inexpensive...but it had to be fixed.

Description of Work: They measured the garage gave me the dimensions for the door opening. I built the opening to there specs. They could not fit garage door opener because opening (to their specs) would accommodate opener. Still don't have opener.

Description of Work: I first used this company years ago at my parents home. The work was excellent and the technician so professional. My parents couldn't afford to replace all their doors so the technician fortified the main door without charge - just as a courtesy to an elderly couple. So I chose them again when I needed work on my own door a week ago. Although I purchased a coupon for "maintenance" work, Brian reviewed the old door and suggested several options beyond the basic coupon. It all made sense to me as the door was 28 years old. He left the options totally up to me and I chose to replace the door. Landon did the work and did an exceptional job. Both Brian and Landon were personable and professional. |I like to develop relationships with the same professionals for specific services - to use them exclusively for plumbing, electrical, etc. Precision will be the only company I will use. Recommend them without hesitation.

Description of Work: The 8 year-old garage door on my newly purchased house was working well (but was a bit noisy). I thought the $79 offer through Angie's List to have the door system serviced and inspected by Precision Door seemed like a good deal. Precision's service person was prompt and professional and knowledgeable. He also found a bunch of things that he said needed replacing, besides what was included in the $79 deal. Total additional cost: more than $500. Not being a garage door expert, I took his word and had the work done, partly because he indicated it would be cheaper to have it done right then than to go through another service call, and partly because I did not want to get stuck with my car in the garage and the door broken, which he said was a possibility. The door still works well. It is quieter, and I expect is in much better condition, given the number of replaced parts. Did it need all those parts? I have to rely on the honesty and professionalism of the service person and assume that it did. Was the price reasonable? I don't know for sure because I did not comparison-shop. Did I have to have the extra work done that day? No. There was no arm twisting. But I am the type of person who, if told that there is a problem, wants to get it addressed promptly, especially if I am told it will cost more if I wait. One of the questions in this evaluation asks whether I would use this provider in the future. Too bad there is not a place for "Maybe." The service person appeared to do good work, but maybe I could have gotten it done cheaper if I had gotten several estimates, as I usually do. In summary, Precision used Angies List to get a foot in the (garage) door and I ended up spending way more than the deal, in part by failing to do my due diligence. I will be smarter and more skeptical in the future when considering using Angie's "deals."
