My AC stopped working on a hot July night. I called Petrocelli Services the next afternoon and they were at my house just hours later. The technician was very polite, professional and was quick to find the problem and fix it. The price was more than fair. I have used this company before and they have always delivered top notch service.

The Petrocelli tech recommended that I replace the entire heating unit, with very little diagnosis to go on. I called another tech and got a second opinion. Heating unit is working fine after installation of correct filters (special filters for the unit itself). I will be more careful with companies that offer service coupons.

They are fabulous! If I haven't called to make my fall or spring appointment, they would call me. I really, really like the company. I pay it only once a year, like I pay in the fall and then they do a follow up spring service. It's reasonable.

I had questions about the inspection as I received a really short e-mail giving me almost no information. In the last 10 days I have called and asked for their manager multiple times. I have repeatedly stated that I am not calling to complain but just need some information. Each time I have been told that the manager is busy and she will call me back. Sometimes she is in meetings. She has been unable to call me back in 10 days!

We had an emergency situation on the Saturday morning before Easter. I called several places - some wanted extra emergency charges, others couldn't come for at least eight hours. At Petrocelli, a human (not a machine) answered the phone, took my info and promised to call me back after checking with the technician for a time estimate. The tech (Justin) called me within about 20 minutes and was at my house soon after that. He checked it out, explained what the issue was and gave us a couple of different options to fix the problem. He patiently put up with all of the questions about how and why it happened until we selected one of his options. Then he fixed the problem. And the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend these folks.

The technician, Terry, was very thorough in his work and explained everything to me. He also showed me where the filters were and how to change them. He left the filter sizes with me, and told me what to look for when checking the filters. He described the functioning of both the air conditioner, the furnace, and the blower unit. He showed me what to look for when a problem occurs. He cleaned the lines, vacuuming them out all the way at the top and bottom of the line. Very professional, and very friendly.

No additional charges. They came out a few days after the purchase. It was fine. Nothing bad. They were there maybe 45 minutes.

We got them because we had a prior issue which we had fixed ourselves right before we went on vacation the week before. We went and we just wanted them to just check it out to make sure that there wasn't anything else that was happening. That deal was fine. It turned out to be both more and less. I'm sure they did go and do the checking. But once they got here we said, please perform that service. We recognize that the unit may not be working as efficiently as it could so we would like for you to see if there are some other things that can be done. The first time, there was just one time that came out. There was a little bit og battle of wills between the installer and the manager. The manager asked that a certain thing be done. It wasn't done to his specifications so he made the guy come out and do it again. Then that guy showed up, this is when Holly was here, I had been here for all the other interactions. He basically told Holly, I'm not going to do that and I just want to get paid then he left. That was super bad. At that time, Mr. Petrocelli wasn't there. He was out of town. When he got back in to town, Holly called and explained the situation to whomever. Mr. Petrocelli came, saw what the issue was and made it better. In fact, he had some work for free. In the end, it was a good story. Initially it really wasn't because not only, between the two of us, we were home three times for what should have been one time event. Then also, we had a situation where Holly comes home specifically for this guy to do what he was supposed to do and then he just flat out refuses to do it and leave because he disagreed with what this manager had said. I know Petrocelli has a ton of really good reviews, we chose them specifically for that. In fact, we had used them once before completely successfully and we were very happy. Ultimately, Mr. Petrocelli made it right personally and he came here and apologized for what had happened. He said apparently, this does happen on occasion where everybody decides that he's in charge. In the end, we're satisfied and I feel like we would use them again. But it was, in the interim, we were pretty angry. You took time out of your job to come home and say, no, sorry I'm not really doing that. I think the prie was fair. Ultimately the quality of the work was very good. He was professional. It unfortunate that his people weren't and that he had to clean up but he did which not every owner of the business would.

It turned out very well. We basically has a problem with our heating and cooling, the unit would no longer come on. So they determined that it needed to be replaced and they gave us an estimate on replacement, but in the end we did not go with them for replacement. We went with another company for replacement because the other firm was able to do the replacement with less than half the cost. The deal did exactly what it is, it was basically inspection and a diagnosis and they delivered on that perfectly. It took them a long time to actually respond to me and to actually make an appointment to come out. The pricing for the replacement of equipment they wanted to put in I thought was too high, however, pricing for just what the deal offered I thought it was very fair.

After an initial apparent lack of communication, we got to talking and found this deal does not qualify for a pool furnace.

My heater started blowing cold air, so I found a deal on Angie's List from Petrocelli ($39.99 Heating or Cooling Diagnostic Service Call). Justin came out and in about ten minutes determined that the ignitor had failed and would need to be replaced. I agreed to the repair, although no cost was mentioned yet, and he went out to get the ignitor and was back in around forty five minutes. He quickly (perhaps ten minutes) replaced the ignitor, and I had heat again. He told me the cost of the repair ($289) and while I thought it high, given the speed and small size of the part replaced, I knew nothing of HVAC part prices and handed over my credit card. Later, I started looking into the cost of an OEM ignitor for a Trane XE80 (which is the part that was replaced). On various places on the internet, they seem to cost around $25. While I expect whatever local supplier Petrocelli uses charged more, I'm left thinking that the $289 I was charged for the part and labor was quite excessive. While I can't fault Petrocelli on any measure other than price, I recommend calling a different HVAC company that doesn't take advantage of it's customers.

Everything was good. They were super good at fixing things and we had a few issues but they worked it all out and everything was good. They came out the same week. There were a few things that went over the big deal. We had an older air conditioning unit and they had to fix a few things that weren't expected. I thought they were really great. They came and took care of it. We needed another part and they went and took care of that and they were very good at communicating and giving expectations so I thought everything was great. They did a good job.

We've gotten annual AC and heater tune-ups from various providers over the last 4 years, through our home warranty coverage. This "tune-up service" seemed like a gimmick just to be able to get in the house and offer services/upgrades for sale. It took 1/3 the time that the previous tun-ups had and all the technician wanted to do was suggest services or replacements, based solely on the age of the unit and not the condition. I regretted using this company. I don't remember the date of the service, so I am ballparking it.

Really friendly, prompt, honest service. I feel like they provided an objective view rather than trying to up-sell me.

We have an electric heater and when we came back from vacation it was not blowing hot air. Jacob came out same day when promised and confirmed it was actually working by the time he go there. I appreciated the honesty and that he did not try to sell me unneeded repairs. He explained how electric heaters may take longer to heat up the coils than gas. Sure enough after we gave it more time it was apparent there was no issue. He also provided an estimate for running air to a garage conversion and provided good options there. Would use this company again.

Very good. Appointment at mutually acceptable time was agreed to. The technician was on time, professional and forthcoming. No complaints.

It went well--the tech told me exactly what was wrong and which portions of the service could be fixed and which needed replacement. He was helpful and punctual and got me in contact with their service to discuss future finance options to replace the a/c unit.

I called two A/C repair companies to provide estimates on repairing my broken A/C system and asked them to come to my home on the same morning, provided that they come after a certain time so that someone would actually be home. One company came promptly during the agreed-upon window of time, provided a free estimate, and later completed the job in a timely manner for a reasonable price. This company communicated throughout the process and made things pretty easy. Petrocelli Services was the other company. I'm not sure if they ever showed up or not. If they did, it was outside of the agreed-upon window of time. All I have to go by is a contractor's assistant who says they *may* or may not have spoken to someone from an unidentified A/C or ventilation company sometime in the hour before the start of the agreed-upon time. This unidentified person didn't leave any paperwork or make any attempt to contact me via phone call, text, voicemail, email, letter or messenger pigeon -- until a bill arrived for an A/C diagnostic from Petrocelli a week later. Apparently they expect me to pay $127.50 for a visit from a ghost. Not to say I'd have anything against a ghost with A/C repairperson aspirations, as long as they attempt to do at least a few of the following: A) mention the fact that they charge for estimates during the initial phone consult, B) show up at the proscribed time (or make efforts to communicate if they will be early or late), C) actually show up at all (? - not sure if this even happened), D) make any effort to communicate with me afterward regarding the repair job and what it will entail in an attempt to see if I actually want my A/C fixed (I really, really did). I suppose it's easier for them to just send invoices to people they've never communicated with to see who's idiotic enough to pay up, though I'm not sure if that's a sustainable business model. I would surely never recommend this company to anyone unless they are prepared to chase this company down to ensure they do the bare minimum of what they are asked (except sending invoices for work that may or may not have been done - they're good at that, at least).

They were fine. He did a good job, and they came in on time. They were very professional, and polite. When I called to make an appointment, I needed them right away, and they were there right away, and on time, so they were fine. They did a good job. I had purchased the big deal for $39.99 and I paid over $900.

They did a great job. Fortunately nothing wrong with the furnace and we never found out what caused the problem, but I at least had peace of mind.

3rd time I have used them, always honest, helpful and professional

When I noticed that our heat upstairs wasn't working at all, I went to Angie's List and chose Petrocelli Services to call. They sent Terry out that very evening, around 6:00. He was very personable and got right to work in our cold attic. He quickly found that the control board was bad and told us that he would buy a new one for us the next day, giving us an estimate as to what that specific board might cost. The next evening he called to say he was on his way to our house with the new control board. The control board cost him $325 and he charged $85 for one hour of labor, even though he came to our house two times. He seemed very knowledgable and honest, and we decided to hire them for an annual maintenance program for an additional $139. That maintenance plan includes two check-ups per year, one for the AC and one for the furnace. We chose Petrocelli Services and their serviceman Terry because he knew what he was doing, is honest, and because they are available to work 24/7. We sure appreciated having our heat quickly restored, especially during this first real cold snap.
