Peoples Signature Flooring

As part of a larger remodeling job, we hired Floor Coverings International to remove carpet and tile and replace it with hardwood floors and tile. Robert (co-owner and sales rep) came out to the house, listened to our interests, and brought in a number of samples for us to look at. Initially we'd planned to put wood throughout the house, but at an opportune moment he diplomatically suggested we consider keeping tile in the kitchen. It was a very practical suggestion,of course, and we were pleased with the range of tiles he offered. He and his wife, Julie, were extremely good at scheduling around the painters we had contracted to come in. They mentioned the part of the job that should be done prior to painting (the tile removal), and scheduled that for us early. Robert continually checked in to make sure we were satisfied, and that the workers--who were very professional--left as small a footprint on our lives as possible. Everyone he employed was first-rate. The floors--tile and wood alike--are absolutely fantastic. We couldn't be more pleased with the experience, and recommend them highly. You can probably purchase a cheaper floor, but you will be hard pressed to have an experience and a product as satisfying as we did.

We shopped with 5 providers and had 4 come out to measure and give estimates. While three of the four were highly professional and helpful in giving information about the products, Robert and Julie were the most thorough and eager to answer questions, and they finally provided the carpet we all (including Robert) thought would suit our needs. Robert responded to my questions with detailed data about the specs for all of the carpets we were considering, even mailing us copies of data from the manufacturer. He came out to the house multiple times to show us samples and discuss our preferences. Their installers were extremely competent and exact in their work, and that was also impressive. Finally, Julie and Robert were constantly in touch with us about the carpet order and installation and contacted us repeatedly to be sure we were pleased with all that was done. We highly recommend Robert & Julie Peoples because of their professionalism and commitment to service.

First, Robert came to our home with oodles of carpet and wood samples to consider. He discussed with us what we liked and didn't like about our current flooring, how we use the areas and what kind of look we were going for. He helped us to eliminate and narrow down our choices. When we decided on a certain carpet, it was difficult to choose the exact color since the samples were only 4" by 4". So, he ordered big full sized samples and delivered them. We were able to keep these for several days so that we could evaluate the different colors in different light and different times of the day and night. Once we selected the carpet, the installation date was set. The installers showed up exactly on time and installed the carpet over a two day period, moving all of our furniture out and replacing it. Nothing was damaged - not even the walls! What a great experience!

I called Julie on Tuesday, October 27& told her that I needed this expidited because the new tenant was ready to move in. I met with Robert on Thursday, October 29 for him to measure & give me the price. The installation took place on Tuesday, November 3. I am very happy with the service that was given & will definitely call them again. I received a cup of flowers from them on Tuesday afternoon. They are the best!

Robert and Julie Peoples were very friendly, professional, responsive, knowledgeable and accommodating ? an overall pleasure to work with when we installed new hardwood floors. They were also very proactive in calling to give us updates and returning our phone calls promptly. My husband and I have pretty busy schedules, but we set up an appointment with Robert on Wednesday evening (which was great because we didn?t have to take time off work), and our floors were installed the following Monday and Tuesday. Robert came to our house for a free consultation and to measure our rooms. He brought over several samples, working with us to determine what type and color of wood would work best to achieve our vision, explaining the pros and cons of each sample. The large sample sizes also made it much easier to visualize the finished product against the other existing features of our house and in the lighting of different rooms (some other companies just offer little sample squares). Robert was very good about making suggestions about how to run the wood for the best flow and overall look, but he was not a high-pressure salesman at all (which was nice). He also brought up design aspects we had never considered, and his idea to have the wood flow between two rooms (instead of having a clear division and following the existing carpeted areas) really made a HUGE difference in the overall layout of our house. You would think dark wood floors would make the house look smaller, but everyone agrees that it looks bigger and more open and inviting. Plus, Robert gave us an estimate on the spot and also offered a great interest-free financing deal. Considering all the work that was involved, the price seemed very competitive and fair. Robert told us all about the installation and scheduling process, so there were no bad surprises. He talked us through all the details involved in the process (pulling up carpet, busting up tile, putting down new molding, etc.) that some other companies don?t mention until the end when you receive the bill. We knew up front exactly what we were paying for. The installation process went without a hitch; the four-man crew worked very efficiently and quickly ? I was amazed they were able to do so much work so quickly and with such accuracy. They arrived on time and all got right to work. Also, they carefully moved a majority of our furniture for us (including a very heavy pool table) and put it all back in place when the job was done. We actually liked their placement of our living room furniture better than how we originally had it set up, as it created a more open living space. And I was really worried the pool table would be a big problem, but everything worked out great. We were very pleased with the results. They did not leave any trash, the floors were spotless and they even gave us a special broom and solution for cleaning. It was like walking into a brand new house with beautiful floors instead of ugly carpet. We really were guided through the process and felt very confident about the whole thing, beginning to end. Our house looks beautiful, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Especially compared to many of our friends who were doing remodeling work at the same time: this was a painless, easy process. The quality seems amazing and Robert and Julie's professionalism, customer service and attention to detail made all the difference. We had zero problems. I would absolutely use them again for new floors and recommend them to others.

First of all, these people LOVE their jobs! They know floors. Our distressed hickory flooring works perfectly with our wall color and carpet choices. We were guided through the process and had absolute responsiveness from everyone at the company. Our house looks breathtaking. We couldn't be happier! Use this company for any of your flooring needs and you will not be disappointed.

After my experience with Flooring Covering International, I would not buy carpet and/or ther type of flooring from anybody else. It is so nice to have someone come in to your home and explain the different types of carpet with the pros and cons of each type. Also, seeing the carpet samples in your own home in the room that you will be recarpeting is extremely helpful.

This was an excellent business transaction..they took the time to show "many" examples. After the selection was completed...they put me on the schedule and the work was excellent. It's nice to do business with a competent company.

I didn't go into their showroom. They came to me. He brought samples to the property. I picked out the flooring and it was actually two different types of the laminate flooring that I saw for the kitchen and also some carpets. He worked with me to determine what type of material and what grade of carpet to use. He had the carpet samples that he brought out to the property. He gave me an estimate right there. It worked out very well. The installation went without a hitch. It was great and the carpet went down wonderfully. There was just one little plastic threshold that I had to go back and re-glue. I don't really fault them for any deficiency. I never really had any complaints about them. I am actually going to have them do an estimate on another property of mine.

Robert Peoples conferred with me by telephone and in person several times to determine what the job entailed. Was very helpful in suggesting a carpet style and color. The carpet and vinyl floor covering workers arrived promptly, worked steadily, and did a very nice job. They left no trash. The tile work was done by a subcontractor who kindly helped me reseat the toilet.

When his crew arrived to do the work, they got right to work, did a fabulous job, were very experienced, neat and organized. We could not be more pleased with the results. Beautiful wood flooring, exactly what we ordered and the price was exactly as quoted.I would give them a 10+ for the quality of workmanshipm professionalism, and promptness.

Last year I had Floor Coverings install hard woods in my home. At that time I did not want my staircase done since I had two small puppies that enjoyed racing me down the staircase. The hard woods we chose are soft on the feet and most important, they are not slick. I called on a Monday and they were able to order and install on Friday. Additionally, the Hickory hardwoods that we chose have held up to two small dogs that love to run and play. I have no scratches after a year and love the look of my home. Adding hardwoods to the staircase made my home more elligant. Another well done job!

This is an amazing company to work with! From the very start they were extremely responsive, and explained the process in detail. They were able to come out to my house within days of first contact, and were professional, thoughtful, organized and knowledgeable. I was actually able to choose a carpet, find availability and secure pricing the same day. They were able to start the shipping process the same day, and it was installed by the end of the week. I even had to change installation days a few times and they were very accommodating. I think that the pricing was very fair as well. Oh, one of the most impressive parts was the installation team-- they were very careful with the furniture as they took it out of the room and put it back in. I have a bed skirt on my bed, held in place with special pins. I forget to tell them about this, and when they put the bed back together they had brought their own fresh pins and put the bed skirt back on perfectly! Julie even sent a tiny bouquet of flowers during installation to thank me for using their service. I will absolutely try to use them again and believe that service people can take notes from this team.

We were very happy with them. Our experience with them was very positive because they were very helpful in not just doing the job but also in solving a problem where the wood flooring in our kitchen floor was damaged. They came up with a good idea to effectively and relatively inexpensively address the damage that was done. They showed up on time and worked very hard. They would have finished the entire job in one day except that there had been an underestimate in the amount of materials that was required. They pulled up all the carpets, pulled up tack strips, laid all the flooring and did a very nice job. They came up with a clever idea to prevent the bump appearing on the floor between one room and the other. The quality of the work was quite good. The contact person for the work came by after everything was done to make sure that we were satisfied and everything looked right. The work done in addition to the wood flooring was very nicely done. They delivered the shoe molding ahead of time so they could paint that to match our rooms and they could nail in the finished painted molding without me having to get down there on my hands and knees trying to paint the molding after the flooring was already installed. I really appreciated that. Their price was very good. They sent the bill packaged inside a mug, which I found unique. I would use them again and I have recommended them to others too.

I could not ask for better than Robert and Julie Peoples. After a plumbing leak in the slab destroyed 80% of the flooring we had put down ourselves just nine months prior, Robert found a near-perfect match for the flooring that remained in our master bedroom, brought it over along with a few other options, measured and gave us a quote right there on the spot, and the floor was delivered the following Monday, allowed to acclimatize for four days, and completely installed perfectly that Friday. It was all so easy and gorgeous that we were almost thankful that the leak happened (I said "almost," mind you). There have been zero problems so far (knock on wood), and when Robert came to check on the job that Friday afternoon, he fixed one problem (bedroom thresholds) before I could even say anything. While I was never fortunate enough to meet his wife, Julie, in person, she's an absolute doll over the phone. If only this were the way every company did business in Austin and elsewhere. The price was competitive and along the lines of our insurance settlement, the quality was outstanding, and the professionalism was through the roof. I would recommend Floor Coverings International to anyone.

I called their office on Tuesday to ask if I could get an estimate. The time was set immediately for Thursday. Robert came out and we discussed our needs and he went to work coaching our decision based on information we had given him. He showed us all the options in our price range. He then discussed in detail the installation process and scheduling. It was a painless transaction. Robert noticed we were installing tile flooring ourselves and gave us some really helpful tips for installing. I would highly recommend Robert and his team to anyone at any price range.

The experience was very good overall. We found it very convenient that they bring the samples to your location and you can choose whatever you want instead of running all over town looking for things. They calculate it all, they install it all, and do it very quick, well and in a very professional way. Robert Peoples is great and definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to floors. He has an excellent crew and they work very well together with all your needs ( we had to mover some equipment at the time the floors were done to lay the floor underneath it, so they worked great with our equipment maintenance company.) We were very impressed. These days it is hard to find reliable, quality professionals in any field. It was a pleasure to work with them!

The experience was terrific from beginning to end! Super friendly and professional and decently priced! We needed reasonably priced products since we were putting the house on the market but wanted something nice to attract buyers. The hardwood floors they recommended worked like a charm, the house went under contract for full asking price three days after it was set active on the MLS! Needless to say we are extremely happy! The installation went incredibly smooth, they moved the furniture and took the beds apart so when we came home at the end of the day, the house looked exactly as we left it that morning but with new floors! They were extremely accommodating, we were going out of town and needed to put the house on the market before our trip so there was no room for errors or delays. We had all the house upgrates scheduled to the day and they worked with us to make it all happen on time, even when it was pouring down rain the day we got the carpets installed. Excellent job done as well! We were worried about the stone fireplace because it is an uneven surface but they cut the bottom of the stone and it looks like it was built on top of the hardwood floors. It looks amazing! And if that is not enough, they left flowers for us when the job was done. Nice touch!

They were very good. They were very careful to communicate timing with them and I got a heads-up the day before.

Initially we had some real issues with them. They had a great response to our problems. They took care of us and their customer service was excellent. We were dissatisfied with the initial work, and the owner came out personally and inspected it. He removed the floor that was wrong and replaced it.

Robert and Julie are very pleasant to work with. They are very professional also. Robert is very knowledgeable with various flooring choices. He came for a home visit and showed us several flooring choices & although he wanted a decision on the spot he was not a high-pressure salesman. The installation was very smoothly and our new flooring is very nice. Robert also gave us some ideas about our other flooring concerns and ordered us an sample.

They managed to complete their work quickly. They were very professional and very responsive. It was pretty amazing to watch them. They had multiple wait crews, and they were very neat. They just did the work and left. The guy who came out before was very helpful, and he showed us lots of samples. He did the scheduling correctly, and he didn't keep changing it on us.

I found this company on Angie's List and true to most of the other write ups, they were very responsive and patient with numerous questions I had. They first came to do an estimate, which was very accurate to the actual price. They installed the hardwoods and tile in about 4 days for a lot of square footage. They were also very attentive of the short time period we had to get the floors installed. Their cleanup was very neat in the end.

This company is amazing. They took care of every detail. First of all, they were wonderful to deal with. Robert came out to our house with samples not once, but twice. He was never pushy but always very patient and very knowledgeable. He pointed out the pros and cons of each sample and was very keen to know exactly what we were looking for; for example, originally we had planned to buy bamboo. He brought several bamboo samples and then also other eco-friendly, "green" woods for us to look at. He gave advice but never pushed one option on us. Something else that made the company stand out was their patience and understanding with scheduling on our part. They worked with us and waited until we were ready to move forward with the project. Installation wise, Robert and Julie found us some dates just before Christmas and had the job done in just the amount of time they said they would. My husband and I were impressed beyond words by the company and the very polite, hardworking crew they sent out. They did a fantastic job, even fitting the wood under the hearth to give it a neater look. We are delighted with the result and would recommend them to anyone.

Robert Peoples is very professional and always punctual. He spent a significant amount of time with us showing us many hardwood samples in our home. Once we narrowed it to two choices, he provided references which we visited. He also provided us places to go view various tile choices. The tile demo happened first followed by a space of time where we brought in painters. Immediately after this, the tiles were installed followed by the hardwood. The installers were on time, and more importantly were accomplished craftsmen performing very nice work with attention to detail. They were always agreeable to any suggestions. They were very helpful in dealing with items like fixing floor squeaks, etc. Robert was available whenever I contacted him. I believe I received a reasonable price for the high level of service and materials we received. I didn't price shop because I was impressed by Robert and the track record & references from other Angie's List members.
