I called Floor Coverings International owned by Robert and Julie Peoples and spoke with them about our desire to change the flooring in our 4 bedrooms. They made an appointment to come to our home and arrived with a van filled with samples. I am very impressed with the high level of customer care given by both Robert and Julie. After we selected our hardwood and carpeting, we set a convenient time for installation. Everything went smoothly. Robert and Julie were always available to answer any questions, and they provided invaluable excellent advice. Robert visited our home during the installation to be sure everything was going well. They are a first-class operation and do outstanding work!

Very professional company to do business with.

This is the third time that I have done business with Robert. I have bought carpet from him twice before. Both experiences were wonderful. Robert's knowledge of the different products guided my selection. I had a tricky stairway that required that the carpet be bound on the sides. The finished look was beautiful. My most recent purchase was for another home. I called Robert for hardwood flooring. He came to the house and showed me many samples. He patiently brought out each sample, told me all about each product, and helped me choose a hickory hand-scraped wood. It is wonderful -- easy to care for and so beautiful. The installers had to take out a large area of ceramic tile before they installed the wood. They were very professional, very clean, and arrived on time. Whenever I have called the office, both Robert and Julie have been courteous, helpful, and quick to respond to any message I left. Another plus working with Robert is that he was able to recommend other tradesmen for various other projects. For example, he put me in touch with a painter who was able to stain my banister to match the new flooring. I would definitely use Floor Coverings International again. They are professional, reasonably priced, and very efficient.

We've used FCI twice now, both with exceptional results. Robert is patient and tireless during his visits to help select the tiles and details, even willing to bring multiple samples in different lighting conditions. His input and suggestions put the finishing touches on the design my wife had in mind, and he shared good cost-saving tips. Robert's tile team did very high-quality work, and returned a few times to make sure that the glass shower surround was installed in the most attractive way. Additionally, they had to re-schedule work around a defective plumbing part (which I supplied, but didn't check before they arrived to install it). They worked quickly and cleaned up every day when they were done; the overall effort involved a lot of dust, but their closing off the work areas with visqueen and tape minimized the impact on our lives. The results were simply stellar. I would only warn you to take Robert's advice to heart: Get your plumbing fixtures well before work starts, check them for defects, and coordinate carefully with the shower enclosure vendor.

I called for an estimate. Robert called me back promptly and spent a good deal of time on the phone with me going over my preferences and getting ideas for samples to bring when he did the estimate. He came out and measured the house, had many flooring options with him and answered all my questions. I decided on a floor and we set up a date for install. The crew arrived and were easy to communicate with a very detail oriented. I had most of my floors replaced, they moved all the big furniture and were very efficient in getting the flooring and baseboard both in and out. I had very few concerns that they didn't address without me having to even mention them. They were very helpful in getting the few issues I had resolved before they left. The flooring and baseboards are all in and look great. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again

It went flawlessly from start to finish. We were just finishing up a remodel when Robert came out with his samples to address the carpet. His professional eye noticed several things that he suggested we do prior to installation. We heeded his advice and were so happy we did. The job was done in a very timely manner and everyone involved was punctual, polite, and very professional.

Prior to the actually laying down of hardwood floors, Robert came to our home to assess and help us choose an appropriate type, color, and amount of flooring to install. The owner could have pressured us into a total condo installation, but didn't; rather he allowed us to keep the carpets that were in the best condition and to assist us in identifying a time that we may want for further installation in the future. On the scheduled date, Robert's crew came in and immediately began taking up the carpets and prepping to lay down the hardwood floors. The entire installation required an all-day process (12+hours). the crew even stayed to help return furniture to proper location and put the bed together. The wood is beautiful and has remained in great condition one year later. This wood transformed our condo into a much more serene and calming interior environment. We can't say enough good about the Peoples' and their business.

Robert and Julie Peoples, Floor Coverings International: This was one of the very best experiences I have had with any contractor,vendor or service provider doing work on my home. Robert came to the home with samples, analyzed our needs and helped tremendously not only with a quality flooring selection but with other decorator details. He arranged for a box of the selected flooring to be delivered for our appproval well in advance. This was much appreciated so we could envision the final result. Installation day, the crew arrived on time and accomplished an enormous amount of work. Anwar, the foreman, was attentive to every detail and ensured it was perfect. He and his crew were incredibly coopertive in moving items and working around our normal activities. He made sure we had felt protectors on the furniture before placing it on the new flooring. The clean up was immaculate and the work was finished in two days - a full day ahead of schedule. Robert returned right after the work was complete and inspected every detail, went over the warranty provisions and remained until all questions were answered to our satisfaction. From initial contact with Julie to the final walk-through with Robert, every detail exceeded expectations. They provided friendly,cordial professional service. The final results are outstanding. I highly recommend this company!

FCI was very helpful in describing how to proceded after water damaged our hardwood flooring. They helped us pick the right flooring and suggested improvements to the house, removed all old flooring, and installed the new flooring on schedule.

Excellent! It's beautiful. There was a small problem with the grout in one bathroom and the sub-contractor was there the next day to fix it. It was the day before Thanksgiving and they worked into the night to finish the wood flooring. This is one of the few companies I have dealt with that get it Right.

The crew came out very promptly (same day the carpet arrived in Austin). They moved the 2 large items I couldn't move myself (bed and treadmill), removed and disposed of old, torn carpeting, put down pad and new carpeting all within a couple of hours. A friend of mine agreed to stay at the house while they were working so I didn't interact personally with the installer(s) but they did a GREAT job. When they left, the room was SPOTLESS. They also replaced the 2 items they had to move. And the carpet is lovely, comfortable, a beautiful shade and fits the room perfectly. Robert, who handles sales visits, and his wife Julie, who does office and scheduling, could not have possibly been nicer!! Julie went to great lengths to arrange the installation for the day the carpet arrived, so my friend (who lives out of town) would be available at the house and I wouldn't have to miss work. It may not have been possible since they are quite popular (and rightly so!) but Julie made it happen. All in all they are extremely accommodating, courteous, kind, friendly, professional, and generally just awesome. There's even more I could say but I'd like you to have the pleasant surprise of finding out for yourself how great they are!!! Seriously do not look anywhere else. They also specialize in hardwood flooring and all kinds of other materials so no matter what your flooring needs, definitely call Robert and Julie Peoples!!! For some odd reason there is another company with the same name in the Austin area, I am not familiar with them but I am thrilled with Robert and Julie and their crew. Excellent.

After driving all over town, totally overwhelmed with all the flooring choices, we called Robert and Julie Peoples at FCI. What a great decision! Robert arrived at our house with hardwood and tile samples based on input we'd provided via email with attached photos. With his extensive product knowledge, he helped us decide on the flooring we needed. FCI installed engineered hardwood flooring in our living room. We decided on Mullican Ridgecrest in Oak Gunstock (5? planks). Robert considered other existing wood in the room (patio doors, built-in bookcase, and hardwood flooring in the adjacent hallway). Durability was important since we have pets. We have been very pleased with his recommendation. Installation was excellent! We also had FCI install porcelain tile (20? x 20? squares) in our kitchen and dining area. Before the job started, Robert protected our maple kitchen cabinets with large sheets of cardboard. We really appreciated the precautionary measure since removing the old flooring took a lot of effort. Robert suggested using a brick pattern to install the tile. It looks great! From the initial appointment to the final walk through, everyone was very professional. We will definitely call FCI for future projects. Note: In June 2010, FCI installed the same hardwood flooring product we have in our living room into our home office. We paid $1688. Once again, excellent outcome!

They sent a contract by email which i signed and faxed back. I got a call the next morning and we set up a time. They called this morning and said if it worked for me they could come earlier than anticipated. They were here 20 minutes later. They did the job in less than 45 minutes and it is perfect! When i arrived home this afternoon, there was a bouquet of flowers on my front porch thanking me for my business...now where do you find that kind of service today! They are fantastic! No wonder they are at the top of Angie's list. I would recommend them to anyone!

I contacted Julie and Robert Peoples, Floor Coverings International, through Angies List. Julie scheduled an appointment for Robert to come to our home within a few days of our call. She was immediately friendly and answered any questions. She conveyed an enthusiastic interest in our plan for our home. Robert brought samples of laminate aned wood flooring to our home. He patiently took us through samples, what the work involved, the pros and cons of laminate versus wood, color choices, and prices. He gave us estimates of different plans of work to decide what we could afford at that time ( downstairs only, downstairs and the stairs only, etc). We also asked questions about what would work best for selling our home and he was able to provide excellent, current, and professional advice about that. Robert made an appointment later in the day so my husband could be there. He works until 7:00p.m. Robert waited, measured, and wrote up different estimates for different choices until my husband arrived. Because of Robert's outstanding professionalism, attention, and knowledge, we were able to make decisions for flooring after that evening. He answered all of our questions completely. He conveyed a sincere interest in helping us find the best plan for our home and budget- no pressure at all. It was an EXCEPTIONAL experience. Julie then contacted us to set up the flooring installation. She took a personal interest in our plan and was very excited for us.Installation was scheduled within about a week and half . Then, we decided to go ahead with tile in the baths. Robert suggested that we do the tile first because of the dust and we would not want to track all the dust on our new wood floors. Robert came back out to the house again with samples of tile.Again, he was exceptionally patient, knowledgeable, and professional. We got the tile installed first. The installers did an outstanding job as Robert said they would. They completed the work on time, and with excellent quality of work. The team was also very professional. The tile looks beautiful. The wood floor installers did an excellent job. They were very professional as well. Anwart, the floor supervisor ,was professional, friendly, and answered questions at any time. They estimated a two day install time and met that timeline. The wood floors show excellent craftmanship and workmanship. They are really beautiful. This company and their teams provided an exceptional experience ! We will continue to use them for our future projects. I don"t think any other company could top their professionalism, service, price , honesty, interest in our home, and workmanship.

Robert & Julie Peoples are very professional and all about customer service. Robert came to our house to show us samples in our lighting. He worked with us around my husbands work schedule so he could also be there. The installation went very smoothly and the installers were considerate of our belongings and very professional. After the installation, Robert and Julie contacted us several times to make sure we were still happy with the work and that everything was up to our satisfaction. There was one minor thing we had questions on (the issue was out of the control of the installers) and Robert worked to find a solution and sent an installer back out to address it. Then Robert called again to make sure that it was to my satisfaction. I have been VERY impressed with their integrity and it was well worth the money. I did not know that people still did business this way, it was amazing.

We are very particular and cautious, especially when making a lasting and expensive decision like this. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received from The Peoples and their Team of Installers. They were all very accomodating and professional...not to mention, knowledgable. Overall, it was a great experience for a major decision and change. We love the new look and feel we had our needs met.

We exchanged voicemail messages for over two-plus weeks. Julie Peoples was courteous and returned my phone calls promptly, but she had to refer most of my inquiries to Robert Peoples. Robert was also courteous and eventually returned my calls, but I wasn't able to do business with him. We wanted to replace approx. 1000 sq. ft. of carpeting with hardwood. Robert referred us to the website of one product, which he described as the "cadillac" of wood flooring. The website wasn't particularly helpful. I emailed Robert and asked for a price comparison between the "cadillac" and the highest-end Armstrong product. He did not respond. It appears that this company is a better option for a very patient customer who knows exactly what she wants and is very flexible with regard to scheduling.

When they came out to do the job, they worked quickly and thoroughly, and were very careful with our curtains and with the new paint job. They paid a lot of attention to the details, such as this weird round outlet that we have in the middle of the office floor, which they had to cut around. We also had some tricky baseboards along the steps leading down to the living room, but Robert's team did a fantastic job with those as well. When they were done, they cleaned up everything and we were left with a great-looking living room and office floor! Julie called later to follow up and make sure we were happy, and of course, we were and are. One last thing: Robert also referred us to someone who did a great job cutting the carpet remnants to our specifications as well as to a carpet cleaner for our other carpets. The next time we need to get new flooring, we will call Robert and Julie first.

When I purchased my home there was a large stain on the carpet in the dining room that could not be removed. The seller of the home contracted and paid a 50% deposit (escrowed) to FCI to replace the carpet at my convenience. When I moved in I contacted FCI to let them know that I was doing extensive remodeling on the home (scraping popcorn ceilings, removing wallpaper, retexturing all sheetrock, painting, recessing ceilings, removing walls, etc.) and that I wanted to wait to have the flooring done at a later time so that it would not get damaged during the remodeling process. When I was ready to have them come and do the work, I was told that it had been too long and therefore they were not going to replace the flooring. I explained that it had already been paid for and I had notified FCI that I wanted to wait until my remodeling was finished. I was told that the owner or manager would have to call me to discuss the matter. He did not return my call so I eventually placed another call to him asking him to resolve the matter. Once again, he did not return my call. To date, he has never returned any of my calls so I eventually used another company to install my floors.

The work was fabulous, a tad pricey but worth it, evident by the oohs and the ahhs that I do everytime I step on stairs. Robert arrived with samples and was there seems like hours as he patiently guided me through the choices. Both Julie and Robert were very easy to work with. The crew arrived late due to a miscommunication and transposition of the address numbers. Th einvoice fro the balance did as well! The work was performed professionally, thoughtfully and carefully. I have two rooms upstairs that are in need of re-carpeting and will most like call Julie and Robert to do over during this spring break!

The installation was wonderful. They succeeded in adapting to anything that came up during the installation process. Tom was wonderful in helping us pick out the right floors, to following up on how to clean them! His team came back a week later, to check the flooring and to personally answer any questions we might have.

Timely arrival; Worked long hours for 2 consistent days. Installers were employees and were committed to doing exceptional work. They were obviously valued employees and thus the entire experience reflected a professional business concerned with our being pleased with the work.
