Payless Garage Doors

They offered to put in new wheels on one garage door. Since they were pretty quick and professional, I had them order and install a new motor on that same garage door. I would use them the next time I need garage service.

They called before arriving to make sure I was home. They arrived on a timely basis and were very expedient about getting the job done.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were fantastic and I really liked them. They were very accommodating. We had an appointment and they got stuck in traffic so we made a deal that they would come on a Saturday. There were no additional fees. It was a special so I don't know what their real price was.

The technician arrived within the appointment time expected, was very pleasant and professional. After checking things over he replaced springs, rollers and lubricated several areas, fixed a light that had never worked since we moved in. The charge was well within the range I had anticipated...and he happily applied my Angie's List 20% discount coupon. I couldn't have asked for any better service. Payless demonstrated a great example of how to make a customer happy.

My experience went ok. They ended up charging me more than what I expected, however, Every time they came out to fix something, something else would break. They had to come back out and of course charged me another service fee. Then the garage door opener broke.

I ordered the service. I scheduled it for 3/24/14 for 8-10. No one showed up, no phone call. I called them at 10 to cancel the order. They could not find the house and were persuasive to give them another chance. I gave them my address again and rescheduled for 3/26/14 only if I was the first customer at 8:00. They agreed. On the 26th, no shoe and no call. I called at 9:00 to cancel the order and get a refund and they directed me to Angie's list.

The provider showed up on time and gave the garage doors a cursory overview. Informed me that the $89 was only for one door and I'd need to pay an additional $89 if I wanted both garage doors serviced. I declined. He spent approximately ten minutes replacing the rollers on the one garage door, and didn't change the light bulb on the light that didn't work. This was an expensive ten minutes of work. He should have offered to service the 2nd door for the cost of the rollers since he was already at my home. I can't imagine that the rollers are that expensive. I would not recommend this service at all.

I thought the company was great. I originally paid $349 for the deal, but they came and told me that they could fix the door for less! I was so appreciative that they were honest and upfront with me.

We would use Payless Garage Doors again in the future.

Called them at 1 pm and they were here and the repair completed by 5 pm.

Overall I was very happy with the service. I called in the morning, and they were able to give me an estimate later that day and perform the work the following day. The actual work performed was very good and done in a timely manner. The rollers they replaced the old ones with were much better than anything I could have bought at Home Depot/Lowes and installed myself. My only complaint is I was given a time frame between 10 and 12. No one showed up during this time and when I called I received no answer. Shortly after I called I received a call explaining that their early job took longer than expected, and gave me a new time frame. They showed up in this time frame and completed the job in a timely manner.

The technician showed up on time and performed the service on both doors within 20 minutes. One of the doors was loud prior to the service and now both are quiet and smooth. I highly recommend Payless for door maintenance.

Outstanding! My wife and I recently purchased a home with a garage door that had seen better days. I called Payless Garage Doors and spoke with Ivan Ramirez to see what my options were. He gave me an estimate and and we made an appointment for him to come out the next day - Saturday, to get all the information from us. Fifteen minutes before he was due to show up, Ivan called me to let me know he was running a few minutes late - 1st thumbs up! Once he got here, Ivan gave us a rundown on available choices and options and we made our decision to have him do the work. No hard upsell tacticts, just had answers to all the question we had - 2nd thumbs up! After filling out the paperwork Ivan told us he would call to let us know when the door would be delivered and installed. I got a phone call Wednesday from Ivan letting me know the door was in and that they would be out later that day to install it if that was acceptable. A couple of hours later Ivan himself showed up right as promised - 3rd thumbs up! Within a couple of hours he had installed the new door, had it hooked up to the opener and operating smoothly. When he was finished the only sign that he had been here was a brand new garage door - no mess - no trash. 4th thumbs up! We could not be more pleased at the prompt, professional, courteous service we received and will more than gladly recommend Payless Garage Doors and Ivan Ramirez. Oh - one final comment...a previous reviewer mentioned they had an issue with a coupon. Ivan said to print out whatever coupon I wanted to use and he would honor it. True to his word, he did. This door is a 40 year old wooden garage door that creaked and shuddered just like something out of a horror flick. After the Technician finished there was nothing but the hum of the door opener. Great service, great price, good people.

We saw him drive by to a neighbors home. 5-10 minutes go by when I get a call that he is " here " but we now know he went to the wrong house. He came in the garage, disconnected the opener, raised and lowered the door, then got up on a ladder at the opener. Reached toward the unit. I couldn't see what he did or didn't do. Now the opener will not raise the door. I was having to try 2-3 times before it would raise, but suddenly now NOT AT ALL. He did not inspect anything as said in the ad. He simply concluded we needed a new, bigger motor. $450. Then left. I went up the ladder, twisted the knob for increasing upward force a tiny bit, now all works perfectly.

My experience with this Payless was mostly good, with a little bad. First the good. My garage door repair was a bit of an emergency. Late yesterday afternoon my garage door almost collapsed. For the last week or so the door had been sagging in the middle and I knew it needed to be replaced. I just couldn't do it right away. Anyway it collapsed and I called around this morning looking for someone to replace it quickly. Payless was the only company willing to work me in. And they did and were very punctual. The installer was very kind, knowledgeable and did an excellent job. It took him about two hours. The door he installed looks and works like a dream. So, in this sense my experience was very good. Now the bad. Payless has a coupon on Angie's list that states "Angie's list members save $100 on a double door or $50 on a single door." When the installer came and before he started the job he gave me the invoice to look over. I gave him the coupon I printed from Angie's list and he called his boss since he didn't know anything about it. The installer put me on the phone with the boss/owner who stated to me he wasn't going to honor the coupon because this was an emergency call and he had to work me into the schedule. I don't know why that matters because he is charging the same price. And the coupon was an incentive for me to use them. One other problem with the coupon is it's very vague. It says a $100 discount for a double door and a $50 discount for a single door. Now, my garage door is 16 feet wide, basically a double door. The installer told me "double" means two doors and "single" means one door. That's not made clear on the coupon. I feel the coupon is being deceptively used. It wasn't honored even though it says "for Angie's List members", and I'm obviously a member. And there were no disclaimers stating when the coupon didn't apply. And the wording describing the discount for the single and double doors is ambiguous. I would like to see the people at Angie's list instruct this owner to either honor the coupon or remove it from the site. And if they continue advertising a coupon then the wording needs to be clarified.

It was great. My garage door wasn't working, it wasn't opening. I was pleased with the service. The quality of the service was wonderful and they were very professional.

We are very pleased with it. The young man also showed me what the issue was with the rollers and replaced them quickly. He made sure that I had his contact information if we had any difficulty at all. I am very pleased with the service.

Most excellent Ivan had the correct part to fix the gear thingy. Also, Ivan showed me the old roller he just took down and showed the new roller he would install. The old roller wobbled and squeeked and his new roller was tight on the metal part.

The guy came out and took down the product information. He stated that someone would call back to schedule a time to install the new seal. I never heard back from them. I contacted them and found out that they couldn’t find the seal for my particular garage door and to request a refund..

Very Well. They were very professional and responded according to our needs. They were courteous and on time!

It was okay. It was a little bit interesting. The guy was early. It was like the first call of the day. The work he did was fine.

Discovered bent motor shaft and replaced motor.

I was quickly contacted after purchasing the deal. The technician arrived as scheduled and evaluated the door prior to performing the "tune-up" that I had purchased in conjunction with a new bottom seal. The technician also recommended replacing the rollers on my 10-year old door and pointed out that the bottom seal was for an 8' door. Additionally, my door needed aluminum channel for the style of seal that they carry. As my door is 16', I would need all 16' of channel as well as an additional 8' of the seal. I approved the additional charges for the rollers, channel, and seal. The technician worked quickly and efficiently to complete the job; including needed lubrication and spring adjustment. I'm pleased with the work quality, though irritated with myself for failing to note limitations of the "Big Deal" that resulted in additional door seal charges. I'd use this provider again and recommend them for their professionalism.

It went well. They ended up replacing the whole door, and credited the cost of the Deal for replacing the door. They actually got it done sooner than they thought. The guy I dealt with was very earnest and punctual.
