Payless Garage Doors

Installed double door 11/30/17, It is 1/5/18 and garage door is off the hinges. have called the phone number on the receipt 6 times, the phone number on Angie's list, (mailbox full). their website contact us form does not work, sent an email, sent texts. I am not one to throw away money, hopefully this company warranty's their work as it says nothing on their receipt. paid $961.24. Someone finally phoned, it is Friday and they won't come until Monday. I guess I will be camping out in my garage to prevent theft. They called from 512-563-1785. Will update after fixed.

The original install was good. As soon as the unit went out of warranty it started hanging the door open halfway and the door had to be disengaged in order to get the car out. Payless came out and replaced rollers, etc. It worked temporarily and then has happened again several times, with three repairs by Payless. Owner was angry and rude on the phone and they no longer answer their phone. Must have me in caller ID. My car is sitting in the driveway and the garage door will not lock leaving my home vulnerable. Am changing my previous A to F.

I think he definitely over charged me. I could have gotten a much better deal. I noticed recently there was a much better deal on Angie’s List. I just believe he is very high. He did a good job, but I think the price was extremely high. I didn’t purchase the Big Deal, I just went on Angie’s List recommendations. Too high price!

The work that was provided was great initially, I didn't receive a book to switch the code on the door so I called the provider. At first the young man was nice and said he would set the code for me and a day he would come out. I couldn't be home for the first appointment since my wife had surgery so I had to reschedule. The second time I called the gentleman was rude and wanted to charge me 99 dollars for the assistance. Based off this interaction I would not use the provider again.

The person who came to do the work was on time and very polite and professional. I had asked that the digital keypad be checked since it was not working. He was able to reprogram in no time and get it working. Did not try to oversell anything.

We went over the price before he came out to do the work. On monday I received a voice mail that they were going to take me to a collection agency for not paying for the service. They were incredibly rude and said that Angie's list had no record of me paying them. Now today I get another call that I owe 349.00 for what I don't know. I told her I will not pay anything, that the amount I paid Angie's list covered everything that was done per Ivan. Every Time I have talked to them they have been very rude. I cant believe a company can do buisness this way and are completely unorganized.

The work was fine, what I took issue with was the lack of punctuality, I'm talking days, not minutes and the on-site useless up-sell. My service only has a 1 year warranty but it would have been voided if I didn't replace the track wheels (6 years old) which wasn't pointed out until the service was performed. A 1 year warranty is horrible in the first place then making it contingent on some parts that cost 1/2 of the service I had already committed to just didn't feel right. Friendly person and all, good prices but not a stand-out A+ service provider that we on Angie's list are looking for.

When I called, I was able to set up an appointment for the next day and the service time was arranged around my availability. The technician who arrived was very polite and professional. He diagnosed the problem (grinding noise from the opener) as actually being due to the friction of the rubber rollers in the track of this double door. He suggested replacing them with a plastic/silicone roller and also replacing the spring, which had been painted over when the builder spray painted the garage. He quoted me a price for the work and the parts on the spot (including tax), so that I could make an informed decision. We decided to proceed. The work took only about 30-45 minutes after which demonstrated the results of what he had done and presented us with a written invoice. He also said that there was a one-year guarantee on their work and gave me a sticker with their contact information to put on the wall be the opener switch. The area was left clean. We are very satisfied with this company's work, responsiveness and professionalism.

Great work! Ran a few minutes late, but that's how service businesses go. Still got it done in one day, stayed late. Great job!

Juan did a good job of understanding what was going on and being able to debug the problem. Previously i had gotten an investigation done by another company and their response was i needed a new motor (which seems to be everyone's response when something doesn't work) and that would cost me $500+. Juan was able to identify in 10 minutes that it was either the RPM sensor or logic board on the motor that went bad. He dropped in another RPM sensor and everything worked great. Didn't have to buy a new motor. I appreciate he didn't default to the "have to buy a new motor" answer and tried to figure out what it really was.

The guy arrived when they told me they would arrive and fixed my door without issue until the price came into play. On the phone I was told that it would cost me $150.00 plus parts. I told them I was an Angie's List member and that there was a 20% off deal for Angie's List members. The man on the phone said it would be 20% off the estimate. So the guy came out and told me it would be $220.00 to fix the garage door and I told him I had the 20% off and he said no problem. When it came time to pay he said the cost was $260.00 then he backed out the 20%, so I ended up paying $220.00 anyway. I have an issue with the fact that I got nothing in writing for an estimate or a bill. I have no idea how much I paid in labor and how much I paid in parts but I can tell you I didn't like that the price changed three times.

Fantastic! They contacted me within just a few hours of purchasing the Big Deal. We scheduled an appointment, then they called back to let me know they could come out even earlier than the date scheduled. Christian was prompt, professional and friendly. I'm so glad we followed his suggestion to add quiet rollers - what a difference! Well worth the additional cost. I would use them again in a heartbeat, if only we had another garage! HIGHLY recommended.

The spring (single setup) had broken on our garage door. I called Payless Garage Doors at around 8:30am; a polite representative answered the phone, asked a few questions, and stated they could have someone stop by our home that morning. This was perfect, since there was no way to get the door open in its current condition. About an hour later, Juan (the tech) called me and said he could be at my house in about 45min. He showed up on time and evaluated the issues. Unfortunately, the existing Coplay spring system was unique and would require ordering parts. Also, Juan noted that the existing spring system was inefficient for the size and weight of the current door. At that point, he offered to order the parts and come back when they arrive, or proposed a dual spring conversion/upgrade which could be completed now, improve the spring efficiency, and allow for easier replacement in the future (standard springs.) He thoroughly explained the conversion, pricing, and provided many specifications (charts) to allow for a better understand of correct spring sizing and configuration. In about an hour, he completed the spring replacement and conversion, tested and inspected everything, and cleaned up. He provided a complete invoice and fully explained the warranty. Overall, Juan was polite, professional, and knowledgeable.

Christian the installer showed up on time finished the work in a very timely manner and answered all my questions very professionally. The price charged was very reasonable.

Juan came to our home the same day we called for service. He was very courteous, professional and responsible. He was very clear explaining to us what needed to be done and then performed all the work in one service visit! We were very pleased with Payless Garage Doors and will definitely recommend them and use them in the future.

The installer knew exactly what he needed to do, and did it efficiently. He worked in the 90+ heat and finished all the work within a few hours. He cleaned up after himself. I was scheduled for the day earlier than the actual day of installation, and they asked to move it back a day.

The work went well. The doors came out beautifully. But this provider did not work well with Angie's List. I paid AL the upfront cost, but the provider said they did not receive it from AL. This led to a payment dispute. So in summary, this provider does beautiful work. But their bookkeeping needs improvement.

Not sure what happened with my order as they did not arrive in the morning as scheduled, but as soon as I called at noon, they had someone out in 30 min. I imagine it was a breakdown in communication- happens to everyone. The repairman was great! Very friendly, helpful, willing to drive out of town for the part and come back to finish the job that day. Suggested the best coupon to use to reduce the cost. I was very pleased with the service once he arrived. I would use them again.

Prompt response from the provider even when there was a confusion by the office manager scheduling the appointment. Office manager told me about the deal they have about replacement remote. Ivan arrived on time like scheduled. He inspected the garage door and other parts of the garage door. Adjusted/replaced sensors. My rollers were too old so they were replaced. I also got a new remote since it was lost. Ivan was fast and efficient. He even helped me save some money applying the coupon on this site. Great service! Highly recommend!

I would recommend Payless Garage Doors for your needs. Juan came out and installed a new opener. After he was done he explained how it worked and all the little things we could do with the remotes and so on. The only reason I gave a B on punctuality was because there was a hiccup with the scheduling so what was suppose to have been completed on the 4th, was done on the 5th. Not a big deal though. I'd still hire them again.

He showed up, explained the I need to replace the whole arm and that the door needed new rollers and a tune-up. He said the part would take a day or two to get and would call when it arrived. After the part came he showed up did the work and left. Went well and the garage door works great now.

It went fine. The installation was good. It's working fine today.
