Payless Garage Doors

It went fine. I had no problem with them. When they came out, they said the $49 was only for a tune-up and they had to replace parts so it ended up costing $205 plus the $45.

It went great except for dripping oil on my car - I should have trusted my instincts and pulled the car out of the garage! The oil came right off.

Despite multiple efforts, the service provider was us able to repair my door opener. I must now reach out to the manufacturer.

He was very knowledgeable. I didn't realize that the new garage door opener wouldn't work with the remote that opened our other garage door. He explained that the doors were different systems and wouldn't work on the same remote. That was the only disappointing aspect of the installation - and obviously not his fault. He did a quick and tidy job. No issues at all.

Excellent service - prompt, friendly, very reasonable price. I highly recommend this company. The last one we tried was about to charge 3 times (!!!) what Christian charged and they were flaky as well.

Great! I was able to schedule within 2 days with Ivan. The tech Christian showed up right on time at 7 am. He was polite, and worked hard the entire time. Job done in 2 hours. I have already recommended them to a coworker. I received estimates from $1000 to $1200 from two other companies. Payless' price by far the best.

I was a bit worried that I had not heard from the vendor within the promised 3 days of purchasing the special. Today, however, I heard from Payless Garage Doors and was able to schedule their technician for this afternoon. Smooth installation and good advice. I am very pleased with the product and the installation.

The Angie's list price was $349 for the deal. This was only the second deal I had purchased from Angie's List so I did not know to read the reviews first. Because I had already purchased the deal and then read the reviews I learned that there would be additional charges at the time of services. For example, the sales tax that they charge is not included and when they contact you for appointment they will let you know how much you will have to pay extra (about $16 for me). Also you will read that you might need new wheels for the door rollers (additional) , or a new seal (additional) or who knows what else. They were super prompt responding after I purchased the deal. You will be contacted by email. I ignored the email on accident and almost missed my appointment. They were great about getting me rescheduled for the next day. The did not come during the prearranged time because of a previous job that ran over. They had to push my install to later in the day but they gave me a break on some additional service that I needed. The installer was very good. He was in and out in about 30 minutes. We did not have a garage door opener previously and we have been opening and closing it manual for 13 years!! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE DOOR OPENER BUY THIS DEAL!!!! Worth every penny to not have to open that door myself any more. When it comes up again I am giving it to my brother as a gift!!

I called him, and he returned my call, he came out and looked at it, he was very professional, did his work without any problems, finished and was gone. The price was good, and he made time to get out here, because it was a short notice.

They were prompt, diagnosed the problem and fixed it without any issues.

I was disappointed in both the company and with Angie's list customer service. I bought the service and the tech did a good job. However, the disappointment set in when he said he was required to add on sales tax. What? This was something new from Angie's list and has always been included in the price before for other services. There was nothing in the "deal" info about added tax. I was unhappy about the addition but I paid. Then I called Angie's List customer service and the young woman said it was not the way it was usually done and she would check into it. It's been months now and I've never heard back from Angie's list. I'd say both deserve an F for customer service.

It says that the type of garage door is quiet and would be good if there was a bedroom above it. Well the whole house shakes whenever its being used and is so loud. It was also deceiving because the deal stated that the original price was around $700 but when looking online I noticed there were actually better ones that were cheaper than the $349.00 deal.

These guys are great. They were on time and it was easy to book appointment. They are extremely courteous and fixed the problems in a professional manner. I was extremely pleased.

Went very well. Had a problem with the garage door phantom opening day 2 and he returned immediately and fixed it.

1. I would use this vendor again, but only after having phone communications with their office manager or owner. 2. Contractor responsiveness was what I expected and company communications were conducted through Angie's List messages. During the time of installation however, technician responsiveness and ability to communicate with me was lacking. 3. I gave a B rating for professionalism for the following reason. The terms for this offer (provided by the contractor on the Angie's List website) made no mention that the contractor would email me, after I had signed-up for and made the $349.00 purchase, that they would be tacking on an additional $28.79 for sales tax. While I have no problem paying the sales tax, I found this "after the sale addition" a bit slick. The details/terms of this offer made no reference that sales tax was to be added on at a later date. I concluded the contractor had factored sales tax into their price on Angie's List and that the full price for me to accept their offer was $349.00, and not $377.79. 4. On the day of service, the two servicemen arrived within the agreed-upon time frame. Below is why I rated quality and responsiveness as C ratings and not A or B ratings: A. The full package of services, in the advertised offer, was to include a garage door tune-up. What I expected was that the installers would inspect and tighten the nuts & bolts of the door and then lubricate the rollers. What I received was an installer who from a distance pointed at the track (I think that's what he was pointing at) and spoke unintelligible English. Communication during the install was difficult and not of the quality I expect from workmen in the U.S. B. I was taken aback at the pace at which these two installers got out of the truck and then quickly proceeded to get through the installation. Screws and washers were left on the garage door. Had I not observed this and then swept up, I'd likely have received a flat tire. No instruction was provided as to operations, but I was handed manuals.

They did a quick assessment of the repair and was able to get a person our to repair the garage on my schedule. They were responsive and also gave me the great 20% discount! They were able to provide a few options for replacements which was great. I highly recommend this professional and local company!

Very good experience with this provided. The appointment was set up shortly after I purchased the Deal, the installer was on time and got the job done quickly. The only negative I have is that I was immediately told that I needed new rollers for $99...I had already told myself that if there were any added charges, I would decline the installation and get my money back. But I just said no to the new rollers. I think the price was good and the installation itself was without incident, and everything works fine, so I would recommend.

I've had the opener for 14 months and it's been running like a champ. No problems to report. Everything looks good.

I bought a garage door opener deal. They were quick to schedule the work at my earliest convenience. Christian was very professional and did the job very quickly. He also changed the plastic wheels for nylon wheels to better handle the weight of the door. Christian also programmed our car to work with the new garage door as well as the one we already had, this was in addition to programming two remotes for us. I would definitely have them back for any garage door work I need.

I initially contacted another Angie's List high performer whose name I thought sounded "better". After a quote from that company and feeling disappointed in the lack of answers regarding a custom door, I (reluctantly) called Payless Garage door. I thought Payless sounded cheap and I didn't want a cut rate door. The response time from Payless was quick and the in home estimate was scheduled in short order. From the first meeting with Christian (who arrived promptly at the arranged time) it was a match made in heaven. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and came prepared with an album of before and after pictures from previous jobs. He was willing to let me explain what it was I was wanting and was able to answer questions from a position of many years of actual experience in selling AND building doors. He was willing to listen to my wish list drawing out what it was I was describing, and then he gave me a quote on the spot. Payless was up front about what they would and would not provide in the quote. I needed replacement of the wood framework surrounding the garage door and where as the previously contacted company reported they did NOT do this and I would have to get that done elsewhere, Payless gave me a bid on framing clearly stating up front that they would not paint the frame once installed (fine with me). Wanting a custom wood door (cedar) I was told, up front, that they would stain the wood for me but I would have to provide the stain, (again, great with me). The time from contracting the job to installation was only held up by me and they were patient with my delays. (investigating stains and ordering it as I could not find it locally etc.). Payless was more than accommodating with my schedule and patient with my delays. At the last minute I decided to have a garage door opener added to the whole installation and they were very helpful in providing assistance with this also. The door works well and looks great! Of course, the door is still very new and time will tell, but I must say I am VERY happy with the cost, service, aesthetics and function of my beautiful new addition. I would have to say that the weakest point in my experience with Payless was with the office person and even then when I addressed a miscommunication and apology was given and things were corrected. The office person was nice and courteous and although not very knowledgeable about the actual garage doors, she rightly made inquiry to those who did .

Oiled my rollers on the garage door, gave me another remote since mine didn't work. Very courteous and fast, answered all my questions.

It did not go well. They showed up hours before our scheduled appointment in a truck with a different company name on it. My husband was home and not expecting them. The guys didn't know what services they were out to perform, they gave a cursory quote for $500 which my husband was suspicious of since they didn't know the jobs to perform and didn't seem to have any cost basis. He told them to contact me with the quote which they never did. A few days later a nice lady called me from Payless as a follow up call asking how satisfied we were with the job. She was surprised to learn the job was never completed and that we had never received any follow up quote. We went with a different company that did all the work plus installed a support bracket and service work on all 4 openers for $364.

I had a fine experience. They indicated before they did the work what it would cost. The basic job which was part of Big Deal was done at the price that was quoted. They showed up on time. They called when they were on their way; indicated when they would be there. Everything went very smoothly and there were no problems.
