NorthStar Moving Co

This company says they give Free Estimates, but when I called to schedule one, they didn't have anyone in my area and just gave me the hourly costs. I have a 3400 sq foot house, I needed a REAL estimate. If they don't have anyone in my area, then how are they going to move me??? NOT.

It was excellent. Everything went great. I didn't have any problems. They had really great customer service. They were attentive and helpful. Everything went very smoothly. I can't think of anything negative to say. They answered my questions and everything. They were better priced than the provider I had been talking to previously.

Fast, efficient movers. Were patient in finding solutions to moving large items without rushing and hitting things.

As you can see from the other comments, these guys are great! I've used them once before and I was very pleased with their performance. I always recommend them to my friends and I've never had a complain about them. They are an efficient and careful bunch. No wasting time and no fooling around. And you definitely get what you pay for!

They were fabulous! Made sure the furniture was wrapped in cellophane so it wouldn't be chipped/damaged. Very fast but extremely efficient and proficient. Not one thing was damaged. The move was fast and cheap. And the movers were all very nice!

I don’t know how much they charged because my daughter-in-law ended up paying for it. She loved them. They moved her in the worst rain storm that we’ve had in years. They did a great job. They put her furniture together. We will totally hire them again. When they asked her how she found them to do the job, she said she got them on Angie’s list and they gave her a five percent discount. They packed and moved. Then they unpacked the furniture. They were great. When I called my daughter-in-law, she told me that she would totally give them her highest rating. She thought the price was reasonable. I would use their services again in the future.

From the moment they arrived, which was just after 8 AM within a window of 8–10AM, I relaxed. Carlos Perez, the lead, instructed his very capable guys, and everything was handle beautifully. When furniture had to come apart, Carlos had his bag of tools and his experience to make sure that went quickly and correctly. Some door handles had to be removed, as did one door, and again, Carlos handle this all very efficiently. Everything was moved without a scratch to furniture or either condo. I will hire this company and this crew again next time I move.

It went pretty well. They did the job that I expected them to do. They were really organized. They knew how to approach every room in the house. The only thing they struggled with was that I have a very large and heavy bed. I would recommend them. I have recommended them to friends.

Overall, they exceeded my expectations in every way. I would use them again for any move and recommend them highly.

The men were very kind and did not hesitate to go above and beyond when something out of the norm was requested. No complaining, always said 'yes mam' and 'thank you ' when I purchased their lunch and dinner. No swearing or rude behavior. They were wonderful!

Northstar suggested 4 men and a full day for our move. The movers arrived on-time and within two hours had us cleaned out of our apartment. They were extremely polite and efficient. They completed packing the "little things" which ended up being about 40% of our stuff. Nothing was broken or mishandled. Benjamin, their foreman, was consistently communicating with me about their progress. At the end of the day, I was $15-20 over the estimate due to needing extra boxes. They waived the extra cost and kept me within the estimated budget which was very helpful. I felt the company always had my best interest at heart. I offer the highest possible recommendation for this company and this crew.

Prior to the move date, I had 2 follow-up phone calls to confirm addresses and times. The crew arrived promptly and were very efficient. I was a bit concerned on the ability of the crew to minimize damage related to the rain. (Yes, it rained on move day). These guys arrived prepared and experienced. These guys were well worth the cost. I would not hesitate to use this service again and I definitely recommend them!!!

Excellent. The crew was professional, friendly and very efficient and fast. The move ended up being more complicated than they anticipated, yet they continued to smile and the quoted price held. An overall great experience, and we'd definitely use them again.

My one complaint was that the job foreman told me about halfway through the job that he had scheduled another move after mine in a City about 30 miles away . This was in spite of the my original time estimate being for 12 hours, although we all knew that was going to be inaccurate, because it was based on a move without any packing (which would increase the estimate) and with more loading and unloading than proved to be necessary (which would decrease the estimate). I think this other commitment by the foreman resulted in his putting the other men under pressure to work longer than they should have without a break, and then it put pressure on me to allow some compromises in the transportation of my goods (making one trip with goods on a platform exposed outside the truck, rather than two trips) that I did not want to make. The move ended up going as I wanted, but was more stressful for me and the crew than it should have been during the last few hours.

Overall I would give them a high rating.

They only sent an email quote for service. They never scheduled anyone to come out. No follow up call or anything.

Extremely well. It turned out to be a tougher job than they had expected, but they overcame all obstacles and completed the work without losing or breaking a thing.

Our experience with NorthStar was fantastic from beginning to end, starting when I called and spoke to Ted Tindall. Ted was responsive and gracious, and set up an appointment within my tight time frame for an estimator to come out and cost out the move for us. The estimator, Ilan Dahan, showed up exactly on time. He very quickly assessed our needs, sat down with me and explained all aspects of how Northstar works and walked me through the estimate. He was clearly very knowledgeable, and he made a special effort to contact his supervisor to get advance authorization to lock into a very short timetable for delivering our stuff to San Francisco (we had opted for an "approximate" delivery date to save money, and Ilan got the normal 5 day period condensed into 3 days, which was a huge help for us, since the San Francisco place is a second residence and we don't live there). When I called Ilan a few days later and needed to add some additional items to the move, he handled that as professionally as he'd handled the original estimate. On the day of the move, the crew who showed up were fast and careful, wrapping all of the furniture items in quilted blankets and reinforcing all of the boxes I'd packed. I got a call from Robert Daddio (the supervisor handling the move on the San Francisco end) the night of the day the items had been picked up in Los Angeles, and when Robert found out my husband was already in San Francisco, he offered to deliver everything the next day, which was perfect. Robert and his associate, Ignacio Hernandez, were wonderful. They put together all of the furniture my husband asked them to put together, including some antique pieces and some stools that weren't really part of the move. They even put the mattress pad and bed skirt on the bed! Oh, and all of the furniture arrived in perfect condition. And it wasn't an easy move, since there were two flights of steep stairs on the San Francisco end. When I contrast NorthStar with the movers (hired by a furniture company) who attempted a few days later to deliver an armoire to us (and who ended up damaging the armoire and not being able to deliver same), it's night and day. One always hears horror stories about moving companies...well, our experience with NorthStar was the opposite...a real delight. We would absolutely use them again, and give them the highest recommendation.

Moving is always stressful, even a relatively small local move. We are so glad that we used NorthStar to move the contents of our offices in Studio City. Throughout the process the customer service was excellent, the crew was professional and the job got done in less time than we expected. Like most people I have first-hand horror stories from past moving experiences and was braced for an ordeal. Instead, the day went smoothly, quickly and I paid less than I expected to. The initial estimate visit was done by Ilan who made sure that he understood what was needed and that we had all our questions answered. The move itself was run by Guy, who was personable, professional and oversaw all the details. Our move had a couple of different parts since some items were going to the new office and some to storage. The attention to what-goes-where was excellent, the truck was well packed and everything was handled with care. If I had a local or a long distance move I would not hesitate to use them again.

Richard and his crew arrived promptly and worked very hard and quickly. They were careful with our furnishings. They provided wardrobes which made our move a lot easier.

Nick and his fabulous, energetic crew showed up on time both days, ready to work. On the first day they packed and moved us to our apartment. On the second day, they packed the remainder of our house for storage. The entire crew worked fast, hard, efficiently, quickly, and were great.
