Great! From the 1st call to the final location, everything went smoothly. Jessica was very professional and helpful. We had to change the date of our move and she had no problem doing it. She gave us helpful suggestions, so all was done by the closing of the new storage unit hours. All of the guys were very quick, but professional and polite. They worked so hard to get everything done under a time restriction. I don't know how they do this day in and day out. No slacking, just hard workers. They didn't expect anything and they were very thankful for the small things we provided for them.

The Northstar team, Phillip Facciola, Lamar Parker, and Ricardo Chevez far exceeded our expectations whe moving our belongings to our new home. They arrived right on time, handled all of our furniture and belongings with extra care, and were extremely courteous, friendly, and professional. We had a storage pick up on the way to our new home and then a lot of unloading and set up. We are seniors and they were so helpful tasking on the lifting and set up for us. They did extra little things we asked that meant a lot to us. I highly recommend Northstar, and will continue to use them and refer others who are looking for professional, courteous movers.

I lived on the third floor. My couch wouldn't fit in the elevator so they rigged it to go over the balcony, delivering it to the ground level without a single scratch. They took my bed apart and reassembled it perfectly. They paid attention to any special requests I had, they even helped me to decide how to arrange the furniture at my new place.

The team of three movers showed up on time and finished earlier than an anticipated. They were friendly and professional. There were a couple of difficult items that had to be moved, but they figured out a way to get them into place without damaging anything. The price of the service was almost identical to other moving companies.

Great crew, fast and respectful of our belongings. Nothing was damaged.

The deal was for $50 for $150 worth of moving services. It went very well. They were prompt, courteous and careful. Their price was very good. We would use them in the future.

NorthStar was great from the original estimate, the follow up, the move itself, and the final delivery. The original moving crew was on time, efficient, and very helpful. The delivery crew was the same, and everything about the move couldn't have been smoother.

Movers arrived on time and were friendly. They were very efficient. They left food trash in the yard in both the old house and the new house. They lost several part to some furniture. When I called the company I never received a response.

The service was excellent. I have been professionally relocated five times in my career and was impressed by the three man team's punctuality, professionalism, communication skills and efficiency. What was most remarkable was the maturity of the young men who worked consistently hard. The foreman, Robert, demonstrated excellent leadership to the other two young men. The move was difficult, involved a piano and tricky stairs. Never a complaint and all had a consistent, positive outlook throughout the move. The move was successful without incident and exceeded my expectations. I would use Northstar again and recommend it highly. Special recognition goes to the foreman, Robert. He is a highly motivated worker, leader with terrific people skills. I would look at promoting him!

Everyone I dealt with at Northstar was friendly and professional. The terms were laid out clearly and concisely. The movers arrived promptly and worked efficiently. They very thoroughly packed all of our furniture and there was not a scratch on any of it after the move. The property we were moving into has a very steep driveway which the truck was not able to drive up. They were able to quickly get a small truck to the location to shuttle the items from the large truck to the house. Although the end price was more than I was expecting, it was a big job and I guess I just did not understand how long it would take to move all of our stuff. Overall I would gladly recommend Northstar to anyone I know who is looking for a moving company.

I have to say that I have been burned more than once by movers and for the FIRST time I can say someone got it right. I was in a pretty rushed and desperate situation to move my disabled mother, elderly father and myself to a new house when our current rental was put up for sale. I made the call on Tues and had an appointment for an estimate on Thursday and moved on Saturday. Ilan really came through and assessed the situation for all possible scenarios. He made me feel like someone really cared about what we were going through. Ilan really stayed on top of the situation from start to finish and really put my heart at ease from beginning to end. He made notes to my file regarding my special needs and the particulars of my move. It was so reassuring when the movers showed up, Ilan took the time to personally walk them through the particulars a second time over the phone. The guys came with two trucks and plenty of man power. It was a whirlwind move and the lines of communication were open and efficient from start to finish. It was truly a blessing to have NorthStar Moving Company in the Valley handle our move. I'd recommend Ilan and his crew to anyone. The price was more than fair and the work was efficient and professional. Truly first rate service with heart.

The service provided was very good. I think it was a little pricey.

ORIGINAL REVIEW, but see update below: I used Northstar and had some problems, so I wouldn?t use them again. First the good news: The movers were very careful with the furniture, and fewer things got damaged than usual. (You always lose something in a move, but this was way better than most.) The movers were also really nice and spent time moving the furniture and boxes just where my wife wanted them. On the downside, though, there were several big problems: (1) Northstar sent a truck that was too small, so they couldn?t get all of my things on the truck! And the problem wasn?t that I had a lot of stuff: My house was only 850 square feet, plus all the junk from a one-car garage, so that?s a move that should fit onto a moving truck. When they said they were leaving some of my things behind, I asked whether they?d come back to get them, but they said they?d have to charge me hourly plus double drive time. It seemed to me that they should have done it at their expense. After I complained to the office later on, they offered me $50 as compensation for the time me and my friends spent moving the rest of my stuff, and I bargained them up to $115 (one hour?s move time). But until I complained, they didn?t offer anything. (2) Even though we?d carefully packed things into standard sized moving boxes so that they could be moved in piles, the crew only brought one dolly. That meant that two of the three movers were carrying only one or two boxes by hand per trip instead of a full load, and that slowed down the move. (3) Relatedly, the move took longer than any other move I?ve done. When I moved into my old house with exactly the same amount of stuff, it took much less time than the move I did recently with Northstar. (4) I hired Northstar because they told me all the steps they?d take to protect hardwood floors, like putting down runners and Masonite, but in the end, they didn?t use any of those things. The floors didn?t get damaged, because the guys just carried everything by hand, but that might have slowed down the move too. UPDATE: After my review went up, I got a personal apology from the CEO of NorthStar. It doesn't turn back time and fix everything but he clearly cares a whole lot about his customers, and that should matter to anyone picking a moving company. He seems like the kind of guy who will help you out if anything goes wrong.

Northstar movers were promt and professional, however, we had a few hiccups along the way. As they were moving furniture to into our new home, some of the wood furniture was nicked and they made a large gash in the wall going up the stairs. Also, upon finalizing the bill at the end, they overcharged us for an hour of time. I noticed it on the bill and they refunded the money, however, had I not been double checking everything we would have paid an extra $120. I also felt we should have gotten a discount considering the gash in the wall but we let it go. Long day and we were tired. Not bad for movers tho. I would like to amend that Wendy, from northstar, saw my review and took great effort to amend the issue regarding the gash on our wall. She sent us a refund check for what we had to pay to hAve the wall repaired. She was extremely courteous and professional. I would recommend northstar and use them again becaUse of the amazing service. Thank you Wendy!

We had a 4 man crew come move us, they did an Amazing job. Worked super fast. We had Allfredo, Agustin, Fredy, and Ivan. They wrapped everything that needed to be wrapped and took great care of our things. They even moved my massive plants for me and my extremely heavy, over sized wood table. They were super nice and friendly even changed a light for me. :) I would defiantly use them again.

When another moving company canceled my move date without telling me, I had to scramble to find a new mover and NorthStar stepped in. The team worked very hard to get the truck loaded up, but because they hadn't set up a viewing at our house (due to the short term that I needed) the team brought an undersized truck. After contacting another team we managed to move all our belongings but the cost went much higher than I was expecting. They snapped into action in a way that other moving companies might not have done, and for that reason I accept the higher cost, but as a piece of advice, have someone from their team come to your house, do not book sight unseen.

NorthStar was very polite and professional, both on the phone and in person. The moving crew were efficient and hard working, and treated our belongings with care. Our only real complaint was that the final invoice was almost double their original estimate. It took twice as many hours as they predicted, and they were working very hard and efficiently the entire time so I know we weren't unfairly overcharged. I think they just didn't ask enough probing questions during the initial quote to get a proper sense of the scale of the move. In general, the experience was very pleasant and I would recommend them to anyone. Just make sure they have a good understanding of the quantity and character of your belongings beforehand.

All went well. Professional team of movers with two trucks did the job efficiently and without any problems. We would use them again in future moves.

From the first contact I had at NorthStar I found them to be professional and knowledgable. Prior to the move I received a call to verify all the information. I was told that they would arrive at my old residence between 8 and 10, but likely at 8. I received a call at 7:35 from the crew that they would be there in 25 minutes. They arrived at 8 AM. Factor was the name of the foreman, Juan and Ernesto were the names of his crew. They were all very professional and took great care in handling my personal belongings. I was a little concerned that I may have not packed my kitchen contents as carefully as I should have and told them. They took extra care as a result. They were friendly and made me feel confident that my stuff would be taken care of. It took them 2 - 2 1/2 hours to load it (dealing with the elevator, etc.), and only 45 minutes to unpack. Total move including double drive time was 8 1/4 hours. I had called another highly-rated provider on Angie's List and got a flat rate quote of over $1200. My move with NorthStar came in at just under $1000, under $900 with the Angie's List deal, so I saved about $400 for which I'm very grateful. These guys are great. I would definitely recommend them and will definitely use them again, although I do hope it's a while before I move!

These guys were awesome. They completed moving our apartment to our new house, from the westside to the west valley in 2.5 hours. Seriously. I will caveat that everything was boxed, we moved most of the boxes ourselves and they had mostly just the furniture to move. But still, it was a 2 bedroom apartment. The three guys worked very quickly. Didn't damage anything, didn't try to sneak in extra charges. Good, honest movers. We had purchased a deal on Yelp that helped with the cost but they were reasonably priced anyway. Definitely recommend.

They were very professional and detailed. Put up with every little request and question I had. A different crew hauled it and unpacked in Oregon in just a few hours. I was very impressed with this company. All the shopping around and interviewing for a mover paid off. I had a previous experience 10 years ago with a different mover who brought way too small of a truck and then kept back a 100 year old upright piano while demanding $650 CASH if I wanted it back. Needless to say the cops were called. So this was a refreshing and pain free experience. You can trust this company!!

They were good. We had some issues because one of the first crew sliced his foot open. We had to wait for hours for another crew. The first crew was a little slow. The next crew was awesome. They worked as quickly as they could even they were on their second job of the day. The company called me and reimburse me some money because I had to wait a few hours. They did what they could. They were very professional.

It was fine. We thought that they were very hard working and a very good company. They ended up working longer but we paid more for their time. The only thing they didn't do well is that they weren't good at navigating, they got lost. The y couldn't find the stores facility. Pricing was average.

They were great. The quote was almost on with what they said. The guys were really nice and very thorough. They were quick and they did not leave anything out. They were also very careful with my stuff. I would highly recommend them.
