An estimator, Gil, visited my apartment and promptly provided the cost. Thereafter, we emailed and finalized all items. He was responsive and helpful. The day before the move, I received a call from Joseph Vanegas advising me of the arrival time. On the pick up day, Joseph called to let me know when they would arrive. The movers were timely, professional and courteous. They were very careful moving my goods and a baby grand piano. I was very grateful to Joseph and his assistants. Joseph was a great supervisor and it was a flawless move.

This was one of the best moves I have had in a very long time. Actually, I was skeptical at first as I have moved a lot and hence have dealt with different types of movers. But I was pleasantly surprised with Tim and his team as they were excellent. They were very professional and very accommodating as I have a 4 year old kid. They called 30 minutes ahead of time and arrived exactly at the time they mentioned and got everything done within the 3 hours span. I also had a coupon which was a very good deal. I would recommend them.

They were on time and professional. A small issue was resolved professionally, courteously and above expectations. Would use again.

North Star was terrific! From Stefy who set everything up to Angel, Carlos, and Hector who did the move. Stefy was extremely friendly and communicative and answered all my questions quickly. The guys were really nice and professional, and they even arrived a little early! (Unheard of.) They walked me through everything they were doing, and they were a lot of fun during a stressful event. They took good care of all my belongings, and I didn't have a single issue with damage or loss or anything. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We had a cross-country move (from LA to Boston) and NorthStar had excellent reviews. They were also very honest and said they couldn't guarantee a delivery date (we were moving over New Year's). UPack guaranteed the delivery day we wanted for a great price so we got a trailer through them and hired NorthStar to help with the move. Every step of the process was incredibly professional and wonderful with both NorthStar and UPack. The team from NorthStar showed up early and were great; Oscar/Jacinto, Cristopher, and Sushy started work right away, worked non-stop, incredibly hard, and always professionally and politely. They weren't supposed to take stuff apart but even helped with that! They packed our things very carefully and perfectly in the trailer for the long cross-country haul. We'll be doing the full move in two parts and we'll be contracting NorthStar again WITHOUT ANY HESITATION (and we'd love the same team again, of course). We relied on the Angie's list reviews and they were spot-on: NorthStar is one of the best (btw, we also got the coupon on Angie's List which saved us another $100).

The Huge Problem with NorthStar is their inability to listen, hear, make adjustments and answer Emails in a timely fashion. In addition there is a definite inconsistency in the quality & abilities of the movers/packers they use. The major reason I went with NorthStar was because they provided the service of having someone come to my home and give me a hard estimate. One that they would guarantee they wouldn't go over. And they didn't. However, they left out such crucial information that shipping materials couldn't be pre-delivered without my being there. And, adjusting the amount of materials being used (as I was providing most of the boxes myself), was also out of their ability as well. In conclusion, if would need particular things done a bit differently, you're going to have real problems! In addition, while the packing was going on, instructions about what needed to be left out of the boxes, and what could be left in drawers seemed to easily be ignored. Packed by mistake were my sister's purse, knitting and immediate necessities for the first night in my new home. I spent hours after the packers left looking for these necessities. O.K. Fine . . . maybe knitting isn't a necessity, but she wanted it. Further, I caught one of the packers in my desk packing up my papers, after I was told the papers could stay in the desk and the drawers would be shrink wrapped closed. Not only did this kind of thing add time to the packing process, but it was also (to my mind) and invasion of privacy and as well as untrustworthy behavior/ On the plus side was the man in charge of the workers. He was very efficient and helpful, as were some of the other workers. But, as the supervisor packed as well as supervised, the quality of supervision was seriously compromised. I certainly would never recommend this company to any one, nor would I ever use them again. The money saving coupon was definitely not enough to make a significant dent in the cost, and can't take away my serious disappointment with NorthStar. Please find another mover.

I had a great experience. They were on time. They were polite and courteous. They did the job I hired them to do and I was pretty happy with the service. I recommended them to a few friends.

The reviews are true... this was the most amazingly smooth, quick and problem-free move I've ever experienced. They had a 3BR/3BA house completely loaded into our truck in 2 hours flat. No damage, no dings, friendly guys. Awesome!

this is my second time using NorthStar for a move and again they outperformed their reviews. The three movers arrived early (for an 8am start time) and were ready to work immediately. We had packed everything already in plastic crates and cardboard boxes. they secured the boxes and lids with packing tape and loaded them into the very large truck they brought. They provided wardrobe boxes for our hanging clothes (6 total) which was great. They then wrapped all of our furniture in blankets and shrink wrap and moved it down the stairs and into the truck carefully and quickly. They took an hour for lunch (not charged) and met me at the new apartment to unload. They moved everything in even faster than when they loaded it, getting furniture up the stairs with zero marks on walls and floors. They were patient as we decided what items went where, and they were professional, courteous, friendly and genuine throughout. We had another furniture delivery scheduled for that day (not NorthStar) which canceled last minute, and the guys were gracious enough to drive a few blocks over to pick up the additional new furniture after they were done moving our whole apartment. They are a full service company so they are not cheap - we paid $1000 in labor and double-drive time and another $100 in the supplies they used, but if you can afford it they will get the job done in good time and they will safeguard your stuff. Not an item of ours was nicked or missing, and at no point was I worried they would drop or break anything. Top notch, they deserve their good reviews.

Everyone I worked with at NorthStar was professional and upfront about the cost. The sales reps clearly explained the terms of the move, what was covered, and what wasn't. I had an idea ahead of time of what would add extra to the cost, and did what I could to mitigate that. The only thing that would have made this move a 5-star move would have been if the movers themselves had been as proactive about managing costs as the sales reps on the phone were. For example -- I had purchased a large roll of shrink wrap that I expected they'd use to wrap any furniture that I hadn't already wrapped. Not long into the move, one of the guys was about to use their own shrink wrap for my sofa. Before he could cut the first piece, I had to stop him and inform him that the roll right next to him was for their use. So thankfully I didn't get charged for using their shrink wrap. They did end up using a lot of tape, and while I was okay paying the extra $20 or so that they charged me, the movers could have double-checked with me before using any of their own supplies, That way the buyer knows not only conceptually what they'll be charged for, but how that will translate to the final bill (and in some cases, will see the need to use NorthStar's supplies). I do like that the transaction itself can be handled electronically. Yay!

North Star provided wonderful service. The team packed our house on Monday and moved our belongings to our new home the next day. The team members were professional, patient, punctual and conscientious. We were very impressed with the service that we received and would use North Star in the future.

NorthStar Moving has been quite pleasant to work with in regards to setting up a schedule on my move date, especially since my move out date continues to change. I did do homework on 2 other movers in the area with great reviews and found a better deal with a different company. Overall, pleasant experience, but not the most cost effective.

The three man crew worked very hard the entire time. My only complaint is that the truck they brought for the move was two small and two trips had to be made which put us into overtime. It was definitely more money than I thought it should be, and although I believe their rate was not competitive, the work that the three man crew performed was exceptional.

From meeting with Gil Ben-Harach, the estimator, to the crew that packed and loaded our belongings to the crew that delivered and unpacked our belongings, everything went as planned and without a hitch. Everyone involved was professional and courteous and made a stressful move a positive experience.

BRILLIANT service. I had a very large couch and it was a struggle to get it out of my apartment in California. The guys were great. They were patient, professional and had a sense of humor. They packed the delicate things and on a whole, did an amazing job. When my furniture arrived in Florida I had another 2 great guys unload everything for me. Again, they were great. I couldn't have asked for a better company to move me. The only thing missing during my move was a piece for the guest bed - not sure what happened to it. Very happy with the services this company provided. I'm not planning on moving again any time soon but I will refer them:)

The service turned out very well. They were very professional. They were mostly on time and punctual. I was happy with their service.

They moved everything efficiently and quickly. Scheduling was great and they showed up on time. Three movers showed up to do the work and it took a couple hours to complete.

We had 3 guys move us out of our condo into our home. All 3 were professional and provided great service.

The overs arrived on time and started by having me fill out paperwork and gave me a written estimate of the time and materials needed to complete the job. The foreman was very professional and the move went smoothly. Only a couple things got minimally damaged and we only had one item go missing which is to be expected. The foreman went out of his way to properly package everything and even gave us a few moving blankets for free to keep furniture which was going to remain packed for a while. It was easier to leave it on then to remove them I think. Overall very good experience.

Not only was Northstar on time, they were even a little early! They went right to work, asked all the right questions and communicated well with me as to every aspect of the move. They assembled my bed frame and attached an over-sized mirror to a dresser. They stacked and organized all the items I had delivered and used great care and caution in moving my personal items. What before had taken 4 hours by other movers, they did in 3 hours. My 3 movers were diligent and hardworking. No wasted or down time. They were polite, professional looking and even reminded me to present my Angie's List receipt to ensure I got the discount. I would definitely recommend them to friends and use them again in the future.

The two guys were so polite and easy to work with, they gave me an estimate and it cost exactly what they said. They moved everything into my garage exactly the way I wanted it. I will definitely call them if I decide to move again. I definitely recommend them.
