My experience was great. They did a good job. There was some minor scratches on the wall of the second floor but they sent someone to take care of that days later. I was very happy with their service. If the need arose, I would definitely contact them.

As a veteran of 3 cross-country moves, I still dread the thought of having to move my life from one location to another. From beginning to end, it was always a stressful and disruptive experience. Until now??. I began the dreadful process of trying to find an honest and service oriented mover. After numerous interviews with hard sell movers with fuzzy-math quotes, and based on a recommendation of another moving company, I called Northstar Moving. Turned out to be the best move I ever made!! Right from the beginning, my Northstar representative Jessica Flores was genuinely caring and extremely patient. I knew from that point that Northstar was my mover. She took the time to clearly explain the no-hidden cost pricing and all the details involved. It takes a lot of skill to turn a stressful situation into a pleasant one and Jessica pulled it off like magic. She actually was making my move fun!!! On the day of the move, 3 Northstar movers showed up in a shiny moving truck?EARLY!!! What a relief on what I thought would be a nutty day. They clearly explained all pricing (and it matched Jessica?s quote to the letter; no last minute ?add-ons?) and listened very closely to my expectations and strategy. The guys were very polite and paid attention to even the smallest details. They were true professional movers ? fast, careful, clean and courteous. In the end the move was pulled off in a shorter time than I expected and nothing was damaged, not even a nick!!! A true feat on their part considering I was moving into a tri-level townhouse with incredibly tight corners and confined spaces. And like Jessica, they made the move fun!!!! Thank you, Northstar, for renewing my faith that excellent customer service does exist!!

Ilam was fantastic on working with me for the date of moving. Escrow kept being pushed back, so they really only had a two day notice, when I had an exact date, however they had about 2 weeks notice that I would be using them. They called us to let us know they had run into traffic and told me when they would arrive. They arrived on time and also warned me about the weight allowed on the street, and that I would be responsible for the fine if there was one. Also, if they would get a ticket for blocking some of the street, I would be responsible for that. They worked REALLY quickly, without doily's I might add, to get the job done quickly to prevent the tickets, and being charged more than needed to be charged. Four great guys, (Ryan/Jose/Jadiel and Luis) did the moving. Since they charge by the hour and also the weight, I was afraid of what it would cost, and if they would slack to make the money, but that was not the case. I was quoted $1,350. That was the amount that it was not to exceed. I only have a few complaints, and that was that I told Ryan(Lead Guy), to make sure that no furniture was lifted from the top. The info. did not get to the guys before they did just that on my entertainment center and the top lifted off. No big deal, it still looks the same. Ryan actually wrapped the dresser I was concerned with to make sure that did not happen with the dresser. I also had a little scratch on the dinette set, but it's not a big deal. Considering how many items they had to move and how fast they did it, I was very pleased with them. I marked all boxes for which room these boxes were to be placed as instructed, however they placed them in wardrobe boxes so you couldn't see. Also, the boxes that were marked really didn't do much good. I just finally stood on the porch and told them where to go in the house to drop it off. Once again, no big deal. I just stood on the porch and directed them. I actually was lost in this house when I first moved in. I would go to the left and go ...ooops...wrong way. lol Also, they say to carry your pictures and lamps in your vehicle, which we did. However, I would suggest you bring all of your plants also. The truck gets very hot in the back and also, a plant was placed on another plant, but the plants survived and once again, it wasn't a deal breaker. Because of the heat also, you will want to carry your propane tank in your vehicle, they can not carry it in the truck. All of the guys were very professional and sweet. I would use them again in a heartbeat. This was the first time that we used a mover, so I was pleasantly surprised. I would also recommend them to anybody including family. Good Job Guys! I hope I don't have to move again, but if I do, you can bet I will call you! As I said this was my first time using a moving company, so I'm sure I could have done more to protect the items if I had gone through this process before.

They were fine. We did have a glass cabinet was broken while it was being moved. We were not able to get a refund for that. But they did a fine job overall.

I received excellent service North Star Moving Co from first call to Jessica to schedule to final delivery at the destination. She clearly explained what services and products they provide how they will be billing. Crew came on time, worked diligently and continuously. Took approximately 4 hours from start to finish.

Three movers came with smiles on their faces. Everyone worked hard to make sure each minute counted. Appreciated the tlc with my furniture and clothes. Also, the move wasn't easy- moved from a high story complex in downtown with extensive hoa regulations as to moving procedures to a home in oc with a very steep driveway and many stairs. The movers made sure the move was seemless.

They were fantastic. Whatever they quoted me for was what they charged me. They were knowledgeable and open about what they were doing. They were quick with their moves too.

North Star sent four guys as agreed. All of the guys were very professional and at the start of the move, walked me through the contract to make sure I understood all of the details. With that behind us, I showed them all of the things to move. It was mostly our furniture as we had moved and were moving a good many of the boxes by ourselves. They sprang into action and were a blur of activity for the next couple of hours -- taking apart our heavy bed, wrapping the the furniture in moving quilts and plastic, asking questions from time to time tp confirm other items that might be going (i.e. pictures, etc.) The only thing that caused some challenge was our big stainless French door refrigerator, which had to be maneuvered around our kitchen island. When this fridge was delivered last year, two guys from Lowes got it in and hooked with a minimum of effort. It did take our N. Star movers several trial and error attempts to get it around the island and out the door and we ended up with two or three dents in the stainless front. But all in all, I found the experience to be quite satisfactory and the movers to be professional, friendly and courteous. At the completion of the move, the head guy reviewed the final cost breakdown with me and even asked if I had a coupon (unfortunately for me, I did not). I would definitely use North Star again. Moving is a pain, so hopefully, that won't be for a long time!

She told me that Northstar arrived promptly at her storage unit and moved everything into the moving van efficiently and quickly. Then, they loaded all items from the van into her home efficiently and carefully. Overall, she was very pleased, and she found the price to be reasonable with the fifty dollars off coupon.

The move went smoothly. Coupon saved me some money and all three guys did a great job. Didn't break anything, though I did lost some minor rubber stopper things and one of my plants didn't fare so well, but everything of value was fine.

We couldn?t have been happier ? from the first call to their Chatsworth office, where Beatriz answered all our questions/concerns and was able to schedule us on the date we needed, to the actual move with Francisco, Isak and Gerson, who arrived on time and treated our furniture and belongings with care and respect. With their patience and professionalism we were moved across town and into our new place with only a half hour of OT?and I thought it would take a lot longer! We will be happy to use them again and recommend them to everyone we know!

NorthStar is the best. Forget all those horror stories about movers. The three-person team showed up on time, worked hard (and we were billed by the hour), damaged nothing, and were altogether pleasant to work with. Prior to the move, my phone calls and emails with the company were friendly, professional, and reliable. I cannot say enough good things about NorthStar.

Our contact at NorthStar was courteous, made intelligent suggestions, and answered all of my questions. The movers arrived on time, moved our stuff quickly and efficiently, were friendly and, best of all, did not damage anything. We had a slightly complicated move, picking up some stuff from a residence and the majority of our belongings from a storage unit. They went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. I must note they worked very hard for the money. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

Everything went smoothly. Once the movers arrived, they realized that we had a lot more stuff (we used to live in a 4 bedroom home) than they thought and had to adjust the price and get a larger truck. The new weight estimate given and the actual weight at the weight station on the hwy. were very close. The team of movers at each end of the move were very good and quick. The foreman kept the men working and tracked the boxes as they were loaded and unloaded. There were a couple of little mishaps, such as we found that the glass shelves for our entertainment center were broken and when we notified the office, they sent a check to have the glass replaced.

I want to be clear that I contacted the branch of this company in Woodland Hills, CA. It was hard to find them on Angie's List once I moved, since Angie's list will only let you search in the area where you currently live unless you pay extra. This company was good on the packing end in the San Fernando Valley. They were prompt and efficient and took good care of our stuff. They were flexible on pick up dates since our close of escrow kept being postponed. Then came the problems. We bought a new house in another state, a four days drive away, and needed a "walk through" with the builders before they would close escrow. The builders were on a tight schedule, and it was hard for us to coordinate with them and the movers and establish when the movers would arrive with our stuff. These movers were very rigid about their "window," threatening to get to the new location before us, put our stuff in storage, charge us for that, and then charge us again to move it into our new home. In fact, our stuff sat in storage in Los Angeles and they did not get it to our new home until the very last day at the very last possible minute of their "window,? late in the evening. The crew that unloaded our boxes and furniture were chaotic and seemingly inefficient. There was little organization or plan for unloading stuff and putting it where they belonged. They were supposed to put all the furniture that was taken apart back together, but only put furniture back together at my specific request, and left some articles ]in pieces in the garage, still wrapped in plastic. They gouged and smudged the walls in the stairwell, left things willy-nilly all over the garage, including a horrendous mountain of huge cardboard boxes, tape, and packing materials, which I had to clean up and pay to have hauled away on top of the $5000 I paid them. Unloading took them from around seven thirty at night until after midnight, so they were outside their ?window? by then! The whole experience was on-beyond nightmarish. I do not know about local moves, or within-state moves, but I would NOT recommend this company for interstate moves. They did offer to come back and repair the damage to my walls and stairwell when my son called and told them what happened, but I was really done with this outfit.

bought angie's deal. I've only used moving company twice. this one is the better one. they don't require a non-refundable deposit like other companies do. and they will email me their insurance certificate (proof of liability) immediately, since it was required by my HOA. I had an issue with a different moving company which never sent me their insurance certificate. the movers were professional and polite. very efficient, too. Went into a bit of overtime, but it wasn't their fault. will use their services again.

These guys were prompt, polite, and efficient. I had packed most boxes already, but they bundled the large items, took apart a four poster bed, protected a big TV and couch, moved it locally and put everything carefully in a storage unit. They listened to what I wanted access to and helped figure out what size space I needed as well. I will definitely call them again!
