These guys were amazing. Once they realized the difficulty of the steps, they regrouped, strategized, and did it all with efficiency and a great attitude.James is a great leader and his crew is incredibly strong! I have a few more items to move and look forward to another easy experience with them.

They were respectfully and very careful with all of our personal effects. No damage of anything.

It went very well. They had a fast efficient 4-person team, and they got everything packed in the truck in just under 2 hours --including a lot of furniture from upstairs. After ~30 min drive to the new place they got everything unloaded, (unwrapped --it was a rainy night. So they wrapped most things in plastic sheeting) and placed in ~1 hour. They were very polite and professional. Two items, a bed frame and a TV cabinet sustained minor damage in the move. In both cases, the movers acknowledged they had caused the damage, and took photos to document, and after the move they explained how to file a claim. That process was easily handled by phone and email, and we are satisfied that the settlement will cover the repair costs. We still highly recommend them.

The guys worked extremely hard and were extremely professional. We had a ton of stuff and they managed to take care of all of it in a timely manner. We did have some minor damage to a couple of items and the company was very generous when it came to repairing them. I would highly recommend these movers and would for sure use them in the future.

I was very impressed with this company, They confirmed the appointment, called the morning of the move, showed up on time, and worked efficiently and quickly. All four members of the team were professional and helpful. Each team member had creative suggestions whenever there was a decision to me made. Tight dimensions or narrow hallways did not deter them?..they figured everything out. Based on my experience with this company I would use them again, and recommend them to everyone I know. They were professional and efficient, and pleasant to have in my home. I have had experience with several other movers, including local and long distance, and this company is definitely the best??A+

This is the second time I've used North Star. I can't believe how polite and considerate these men are. I knew they wouldn't just trash my furniture in a box and dump it into the truck. They treated my father-in-law's furniture as though it cost a fortune. And they treated me and my father -in-law with great respect and patience. When it was delivered to my father-in-law's new residence, they asked where they should place the furniture and even helped to assemble some things! They were efficient and made the work look easy. If I ever need to move again. I would love to see Ron again to schedule it and have Dante, Daniel H and Daneil T come to make the move. Moving is a stressful chore that has to be done, but having North Star do it is almost enjoyable. Thank you so much Ron, Dante, Daniel H and Daniel T...you're the best!

It was good and I had no issues. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was the way they found it. They sent 4 movers out to do the job and they all did well. The scheduling was easy.

The movers were great. Professional and fast. I had moved a lot of smaller, fragile items on my own and they took care of the furniture I could not lift. They did a very good job. One piece of furniture lost one of its many legs, but still worked on its own and I wasn't too concerned with it.

In their estimate, they calculated what it would cost for their men to move our things. Instead of adding more men to do the job, they were just going to pay the fewer men overtime. I called twice to see if I could get it repriced without the overtime. They didn't get back to me, so I went with someone else. UPDATE: 2/3/15: Today I received a call from a Senior Operations Manager / Client Care Department for North Star Moving. The manager was concerned that my experience was not good and wanted to apologize for it. She wanted to understand the problem more fully in order to prevent it from ever occurring again. She stressed that this is a company that cares about their clients, and that client satisfaction is a priority. Although there was nothing that could be done at this late date, I was surprised and pleased that they got in touch with me. It makes me feel much more positive about both the customer relations and the quality of the company. Although there is nothing I can do about the initial experience, I would certainly give an A to customer relations at this point, and I will certainly call North Star for a bid when I move again.

NorthStar did an excellent job of moving my items from a 2 bed/2 bath apartment into a single family home. The distance between the two locations was about 10 miles. They had to move out of the apartment down 3 flights of stairs without an elevator. They were efficient and friendly. They arrived on time and called me about 30 minutes before arrival. The entire move from start to finish was 3 hours - very impressive! No damaged items and everything was done in a very professional manner. I would absolutely use NorthStar again (and I can be very picky when it comes to services).

They were wonderful. They were pretty easy going. We had a ton of contractors and providers coming in that day, but they were easy to work around them, and didn't wast any time. I liked them. Their personalities were fun, they were friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend them. Three guys had come out.

I was really happy with the Customer Service of NorthStar in the beginning, and they had a great coupon. Unfortunately the move was just okay and post move was quite frustrating. The guys moved pretty slow and were not very friendly (except for the team lead). I definitely felt they were taking longer than they needed. For example carrying small boxes one at a time. Then I was told that they "load" was done and "drive time" was going to start. I assumed that meant they were ready to go. Really though they spent an additional 15 minutes arranging things in the truck, but I was still charge "double drive time" for this. I felt this should have been part of the loading instead of costing me an additional $29. The "drive time" ended up being 45 minutes to go 9 minutes. Then post move I realized my fridge is no longer working. A piece was knocked off internally. Also one of my cabinets they took apart will no longer hold it's shelf. And they scrapped the freshly painted walls with one of the dressers so there is a big mark on the bedroom wall. Overall I'm glad to be in my new apartment and there is no way I could have done it myself. I just with that all of my items would have arrived in tact and that I would not have felt I was being squeezed for money.

Too tired from moving. The 4 guys were great. This was the second move by Northstar within a 5 month period. Would definitely use them again.

We ended up using another local moving service for much less.

A three-man team arrived early, introduced themselves and got to work with a quickness. They made sure to pad, wrap and secure all electronics and furniture. They let us use their wardrobe boxes for all of our hanging garments and had no issue with the boxes we had packed ourselves, even if those boxes didn't have tops or were just shopping bags full of random knick-knacks. They pulled all of the stuff out of our garage, taking special care with a family heirloom. It became apparent to us that we had a lot more stuff than we thought we did, but these guys soldiered on with smiles. Upon arrival at the house, they kept up the professionalism even in the face of things like "That goes in the dining room. No, no, the garage!" They worked fast and worked hard. They unwrapped everything they'd wrapped, placed it where we wanted it, cleaned up behind themselves and made sure we were satisfied before they rode off into the sunset. It was a truly great experience and we have already become vocal advocates for Northstar among our friends. They were every reason to never move ourselves again.

NorthStar's team did a very professional and efficient job. They were very careful and yet fast with moving all kinds of stuff (big and small, bulky and heavy, as well as soft, squishy and/or fragile). Everything arrived safe and sound and in excellent condition :) We could not have wished for a better experience for our friends. It was an A+ job!

Exceptionally well! All three movers were meticulous about wrapping my furniture and keeping it safe. It was raining so they had to work twice as hard to protect it. I was so impressed by how efficient they were. Added bonus.....they were really nice! When the move was over and it was time to pay, they asked me how I heard about them. When I told them, "Angie's List," they told me that there was a coupon on Angie's List that could save me $100.00. They were gracious enough to wait while I logged in and bought the coupon. This was the easiest, smoothest move I have ever experienced. Living in L.A., I'm sure it will not be the last apartment I live in so I am already planning to use them for my next move.

The entire move was completed in just over 3 hours with a 15 minute drive included. All furniture was carefully handled and placed where needed.

Moved furniture and boxes to storage. Moved matress and boxes to new home. George and his team were very you rough and a pleasure to work with.

Original delivery window was 12/3-12/13, but delivery was actually made on 12/19. They did give me a significant discount (without any argument at all, I might add) for each day the delivery was delayed past the original end date. When the movers came, they were pleasant, polite, quick, and unwrapped and assembled everything, and cleaned up before they left. Other than the significant delay, the overall experience was good and the end price was a fair trade off for the delay.

Under the supervision of Luis, it could not have gone better. Everyone was friendly, professional and did a great job.
