NorthStar Moving Company delivered on everything they said they would do. From the start, talking to a representative about our needs and scheduling was a breeze, with follow-up calls made to us to make sure everything was in order. But the best part was by far the moving crew who helped us out - Luis R., Jose T. and Wilber C. These three individuals made our entire moving ordeal so much easier and less hectic than my wife, 9-month old baby and I could have hoped for. Luis was great in communicating the estimated cost, timing (I foolishly thought it wouldn't take more than four hours) and how the furniture would be prepared and moved. All of our furniture was packaged very well, and moved with care in order to minimize any sort of accident. At the new house, they unloaded quickly but carefully and then broke it all down for us at the end in terms of the hours spent, lunch break (which they of course deducted out) and drive time. Luis and his crew were awesome, and we would not hesitate to recommend or use them in the future. Thanks!!

NorthStar Moving was the first company that we contacted. We chose NorthStar Moving based on their listings and reviews in Angie's List. MISTAKE. Turns out, that after getting 4 estimates, NorthStar was the most expensive. On top of the price quoted, almost $5,000, there were significant other potential packing costs. In contrast to NorthStar, we found Bekin's Moving to be the lowest cost movers.. It pays to shop. Bekins was just a bit over half the price of NorthStar. Since we didn't use NorthStar, we can't rate the quality of their moving.

Went very well and very fast too. What was really great was that they loaned us wardrobe boxes for our coats and better clothes. (We returned them before they left for the day.) That saved us a ton of money.

The guys showed up using company uniform but after asking they confirmed that they were sub-contractors...they came with a Budget Truck,,, they did an excellent job...I could not even give tip to them to thank as I was out of cash in all the rush in our move. to new home .

Would have given A on everything. Just one concern was the damage to the threshold in the entrance to the second arrival point. We noticed it after they left and felt they could have, at least, pointed it out. Aside from that we were very happy with the work and the workers.

North Star movers were fantastic - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again. From the initial exploratory phone call to the last minutes of the actual move, they were courteous and professional. The took the time to explain their service, sent someone to our home to do a walk-through, and provided a not-to-exceed estimate. That alone gave us great peace of mind - the last movers we had used gave us an estimate and then came in at double that amount at the end of the day. North Star came in under their not-to-exceed estimate. Ramiro and team came in ready to go on packing ay - explained how it would go, and set to work. The whole team was hard working and really pleasant, and they did a great job of packing our things. The next day they came to move our things to our new house and never complained - even about lifting heavy items up three flights of stairs. Everything turned up in perfect shape at our new home. They made this into a very positive experience!

Pick up of our furniture in Los Angeles went extremely well. The crew arrived during the pre-arranged time window, although they forgot to call an hour before arrival. They carefully packed up our things and were extremely detailed and careful about making an accurate inventory of all items taken. We paid by weight, so the truck was weighed before and after pick-up, and we were then informed of our final cost. It came in below their estimate, which was a nice surprise! There were no hidden costs. They told us exactly what the costs would be (the dollar amount per pound, the cost of a smaller truck, the cost of shrink wrap, the cost of a roll of tape, etc.) and they were accurate to the penny. We had some restrictions on delivery to our condo building, e.g., no delivery on weekends, and this is where this company really worked with us. We so appreciated their ability to make this work! They couldn't promise us a weekday delivery, but they said they would really try hard to accommodate us, and they did! Delivery also went well. They delivered during the pre-arranged time window, and gave us 24 hours advance notice, and then a 3 hour advance notice. We had our itemized inventory to check, and every single piece arrived in good condition. They put each piece of furniture where we wanted it. They reassembled the bed. They hauled away all the used packing material. I highly recommend this company and would use them again.

The guys were fast & efficient, worked well as a team. They figured out the best way to get our stuff into the truck and unloaded everything quickly. They were all very pleasant & professional. Nothing fragile was damaged. They asked questions when they needed specific information on what to do or where to put things, so we felt like they were attentive to our needs. The work ended up taking longer than expected but they were positive and hard working throughout. Communication with the NorthStar office was clear, professional and pleasant. Any questions were addressed quickly and satisfactorily. It's clearly a well-practiced, professional organization.

These guys were awesome. Arrived on time, ready to go. In less than 4 hours, they emptied our two-bedroom 1-bath apartment, drove everything to our new home, and put everything inside, wherever we asked them to. They made sure to wrap and cushion everything (to keep it safe), and were very gentle when it came to actually moving our stuff. The addition of the Angie's List discount made the final price even better, resulting in an amount that was well worth it. I highly recommend these guys! (TIP: Be sure to have as many of your boxes already packed and ready to go - these guys are quick, so you don't want to leave them waiting.)

Northstar movers were really great. They arrived on-time (Actually a little early...and I didn't get the promised 1-hour heads-up call from them, which sucked, because I was planning on using that time to get all the last minute items packed up). They were super speedy packing up my old house. I had a ton of boxes and some large pieces of furniture that they handled with no issues. They did take a while to get to my new house--I left about 10 minutes after them, and got there 30 minutes before them. But, they were driving a giant truck, and I was driving a Volvo. Apparently there's truck restriction on the 110, so there's nothing they could have done about it. The move-in at the new house was where they really shined. My new house is on a steep street, and somebody ignored my temporary parking restrictions, so parking their truck in front of my house was a big challenge. They got it figured out quickly though, and moved all of my stuff quickly and safely, despite having to wheel all of it down the hill from where they were forced to park. I had a very large, heavy, desk, which I wanted to put in a room that is pretty difficult to access (through multiple small doorways, etc. They tried every which way to get it through, over and over again, and, unfortunately it just could not be done. The desk has a couple of extra feet in the middle of it, and they simply would not allow the movers to pivot the desk through the doorways. I eventually gave up, and we placed the desk temporarily in my living room, which was obviously far from optimal. Luckily, I met one of my new neighbors after that, who had a sawsall I could borrow. My movers ONCE AGAIN moved my desk outside for me, and set it up on it's side so I could cut off the extraneous legs. And then they ONCE AGAIN hefted my desk up to the doors we couldn't get it through before. And, lo, and behold, it worked! So now I get to keep my beloved desk, and my living room doesn't have a giant wooden desk in it! They really went above and beyond to help me through that, and they were friendly and helpful the entire time.

We were in a rush to get this move done. At first I dealt with a different company, which seemed very professional. The first company sent an estimator over, who spent an hour examining everything to be moved, then another 30 minutes drawing up an official estimate which we signed. Later, this first company added charges that the estimator "forgot to include" but which he said were absolutely mandatory. They also changed the delivery dates to an unrealistic time (30 day extra wait), Thank goodness for NorthStar. I called the morning after I cancelled the deal with the first company and the NorthStar people were fantastic. I spoke with Stefy, who understood everything I was saying. Our move was a little complicated because I was in Los Angeles and it was to be received by someone else in Seattle. Stefy took all the information, scheduled the pickup on my first choice day (for 2 business days after my call), and promised a very quick delivery window. She gave me a rough estimate, but we paid by the weight, not by someone's estimate. The movers in Burbank were on time, professional, and very fast. They explained everything. The delivery took place well before the end of the estimated delivery window. The only minor difficulty was that I had some trouble confirming our payment method for the final payment. But in the end it was taken care of very quickly, and easily. Only two crummy glasses were broken (we did all the packing), and everything made it (there was a scare when a box was missing, but it was quickly found in the back of the truck). The bonus was that in the end, the move with Northstar was over $1000 less than what I would have paid with the other company. Really, I was very happy with everything, and would use them again.

The overall move was good and the movers were very professional and quick to get everything on and off the truck. I had some concerns about pricing but Wendy worked with me and everything worked out great. I was quoted a cheaper price to move on a weekday, so that's a good option if you can swing it. They do care about your satisfaction and are willing to work with you if you have any concerns. A friend who had moved a month prior to me recommended NorthStar and I would also recommend them.

Sadly, we spent the money on a deal for a provider that was not available to assist on the day we needed it (I do not recall "fine print" that indicated this is something to be aware of if a consumer chooses to purchase a special deal via a Angie's List provider). They did inform us of two alternate dates they'd be available once we submitted the date we needed services by, but those alternate dates were Mondays, and we are working professionals who couldn't take a day off to move. They mentioned that if they had any cancellations, they'd let me know, and when I followed up with them after I received services through another company so they knew they did not need to continue to work with us, they politely and professionally replied. For those reasons, I'm willing to offer a grade of 'B' for the provider.

The price was great & they did not break anything, so that's a plus. However, even though they sent an estimator to my house to take inventory for the move, they brought too small of a truck and had to make 2 trips. During the loading process, the foreman came up to me on 2 different occasions to let me know they were finished & I had to walk him around the house again to point out everything they had missed..Including the entire Garage. When they arrived at our new house, they began just unloading boxes everywhere faster than we could direct them where to put things. Obviously, this made finding things & unpacking a bit of a nightmare... I wouldn't say it was a completely horrible experience.. The people were very nice.. I was just underwhelmed based on the quality reviews they have received on this site. Edit: Northstar was very courteous & followed up after hearing of my complaint... As I mentioned earlier, they were very professional pre & post move & the price was 2nd to none.. Maybe I just got the B team on a bad day..

The guys from Northstar showed up on time, were polite and competent, moved furniture and boxes, and provided some packing materials and services as well. Great service at a reasonable cost. It was $435 for labor and $45 for materials.

Went really well! The guys were very punctual and took care not to damage any items during the moving process. They were clear about rates for giving their boxes/supplies. The process was super easy, they finished quickly and the rate was better than what I paid previously with ABC Moving Center.

Perfect doesn't do justice in describing my moving experience. Luis R and his 3 men crew did an amazing job. The men arrived on time. They were professional and friendly throughout the entire job. I was asked questions and kept informed of all matters involving the move. Being that this is a job priced on time, I was extremely pleased at how quickly the men did their work. Things happened a lot quicker than I anticipated and the job came in well under the estimate. The furniture and other possessions were moved to storage. The arrangement of everything in the storage unit was a sight to behold. Everything was arranged with care and precision. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a top quality moving experience.

Very professional and prompt. Luis and crew took very good care of us and were very receptive to our needs throughout the day. Their easy going personalities and willingness to work hard to get the job done were crucial to a successful day, and we appreciated their obvious concern to good care of our belongings. Not a complaint was heard even though they didn't take a lunch break until much later in the day than normal. Definitely helped to make a stressful day go as well as it could have! This is the third time I have used Northstar Movers. They are consistently reliable and courteous. Highly recommend for anyone moving -- big or small jobs!

No breakage. I mean zero. Courteous, professional. No scuffs, scrapes on either residence. Efficient. Customer service wanted to make sure all was well, too.

The experience with the big deal purchase from NorthStar Moving Company was fine, that was a good experience. They were cheaper than the last movers that we used. They were on time. I remember that they were also very friendly. It was a good price as I always get everything in group-on or coupons. I remember everything being good and smooth. I don't remember them giving us a hard time with call back or anything like that. I would give them 'A's all the way down.

Very professional! Moved from an apartment to a house and it was on the second floor down the hall to an elevator. A lot of work. The men worked so hard and fast.
