Description of Work: I packed most of my stuff myself but they packed the furniture and a few fragile items. They were extremely thorough, beyond my expectations. All additional charges were advised in advance. All reps, packers, driver, and unpacker were very pleasant and took the care of my personal belongings better than any other mover.

Description of Work: NOTHING - Just got a $7,000.00 estimate to move from Studio City to the Las Vegas area 272 miles for a 2 bedroom apartment. All this extra insurance, elevator charges and a Bulk item charge for a safe that I have moved twice by myself. Then they would have to rent an extra truck at the Vegas location to off load from the bigger truck to a smaller truck so it can fit in the apartment complex or that was an extra "walking" charge. I'll move myself!!!

Our prices are competitive, but only when compared to other professional moving companies. We would never be able to compete with you moving yourself. Nothing in your review is out of the ordinary for a professional moving company. We take on liability for your items, take responsibility for getting them from point A to point B. We provide small shuttle trucks at the destination point if it is needed. We move safes and other large, bulky items as needed by our clients. As a professional moving company, of course we must charge you for these services. Special services come with a special charge because they are not run of the mill items and require more time and effort on our part. Again, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary for any moving company. You wanted our help to budget your move with a professional moving company. We responded to your request by sending one of our professional estimators to your home. Our estimator then provided you with a free, non-obligatory estimate. This estimate was a fair price for services. Even if you decided not to use a professional mover there was no reason to be mean-spirited about it. Respectfully, Lauren Lustyan

Description of Work: The crew was amazing. My back thanks them for sure. In 2 days they came in and packed up my 4 bedroom house with 7 years of additional "junk" acquiring and moved us to a newer larger home. They got just about all the boxes and items in the right rooms and upstairs without me having to break my back and do so. The original estimate was a "not to exceed" cost so that put my mind at ease knowing exactly what I'd have to pay at the maximum. The crew was on time each day and by 4pm of day 2 we were completely in (though not unpacked yet) What a relief and load off my shoulders and back to have this service. I'll never move again without reaching out to Northstar

Description of Work: We have used Northstar for both local and a long-distance moves and can highly recommend them for both. Very professional, knowledgeable and one of only 2 companies who insisted on doing a free on-site evaluation prior to bidding on the job. Their pricing represented good value for the service and was right in the middle of the 5 bids we received (1 was ridiculously high, 2 were ridiculously low). The most impressive aspect was the constant communication we received between when the truck left our home in California and arrived in Texas, both from the company and the drivers, who did an excellent job unpacking and setting up our furniture. The manager in charge, Ron, was very receptive to our calls throughout the process, even giving us his cell number to use in the event we had additional questions. Our new neighbor's sprinkler line was broken when the truck rode over the edge of their lawn by mistake and he was very impressed that Northstar took care of the repairs in a timely manner, no questions asked. An honest, ethical and responsible mover - not easy to find in this industry.

Description of Work: They did a great job. It was nice to not have to move all of the stuff myself. The part I didn't know, which is why I didn't give them a higher ranking, is that they charge you an insane mark up on the tape that they use for EVERYTHING. They rolls of tape aren't very long and they charge you by the roll. It's something you learn once they get there. It was never mentioned before and you're kind of stuck once they get there. So...that part of it felt a little scammy.

They did the work and they did it well, but there was some miscommunication and the Big Deal wasn’t utilized. In the end, it was okay because we really appreciated their service.
