Description of Work: They will move you so fast. It is worth the money and your sanity! They take care of your stuff. If you buy your own boxes it is much cheaper. We had our own boxes and packed ourselves, but they will even pack you if you don't have time. The time we did that it cost $900.

Description of Work: We called around to a few moving companies and north star was the best priced and had the most positive reviews on angies list. north star moved us from our 2 bedroom house (with stairs) to a larger 3 bedroom home. the workers arrived on time (even ahead of time) and worked quickly. The movers were very professional, courteous and had great attitudes. My husband was really impressed that the movers were very patient in having to disassemble some of the larger/bulkier furniture that wouldn't fit through the door. we are definitely planning to use them for our next move after such a positive experience with North Star.

Description of Work: I was really impressed with the service that North Star provided us with regard to our move from Georgia to Florida. They were punctual, careful with our possessions and I was impressed with their professionalism. Since we did not have a house to move into since it was a last minute move, we had them move our things into storage. When we moved into our home, we had to get another company to move us from storage to the home, so the whole move was expensive when the 2 moves were added together, but, all in all, we were very satisfied.

Description of Work: NorthStar Moving was not hired for the moving services because of the attitude of the rep that came to (finally) give me an estimate. Granted I missed the first appointment because of a misunderstanding of the date of the appointment but I quickly called the company, apologized and rescheduled. The appt was scheduled for the following Saturday at 9am. At 9:45 he called to make sure we had an appt. then chastised me for not answering his calls...there were no previous calls on the number that I had provided nor had messages been left. He said that he would be there in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later he shows up with a serious attitude issue, again accusing me of not answering my phone and making me feel that I was bothering him. All through the :"tour" I felt that he was not listening to me or my concerns. I joined Angie's list because of a bad experience with the last move I had...I certainly wasn't going to hire someone who was not going to take me or my concerns seriously or more importantly, coming with a chip on his shoulder. I went with a competitor, who was a little more expensive but courteous and professional.

Description of Work: I had new carpet installed in my apartment and hired NorthStar to move my things out and then back in. They were prompt, efficient and courteous. They clearly explained my options and pricing was extremely reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to refer them or use them again in the future.

Description of Work: It is not often that I take the time out of my busy schedule to write a company regarding the services they provided to me. However, I feel that the service I received from one of Northstar's crew deserves recognition. I contracted with Northstar to move me on 10/16/06. This crew was headed by Nick. The reason I write is because I felt highly satisfied with the work they performed. First of all, the crew was punctual. It was an extremely hot day, but this did not stop them from working diligently. I had many items that were extremely fragile,and they handled everything with care. Nick also had to wrap a couple of items for me and took the time to mark the boxes so that I knew what he had put in them. I felt this was above and beyond his job duties.
