She screens fabrics, fixtures, and furniture that are within our tastes and budget. She is very good about keeping notes of our preferences and adjusting options for further consideration. She brings options from different price ranges for us to see and can help identify ways to save cost without giving up the overall look and quality. She keeps the process moving forward and has the right amount of coaching us to make decisions. She has saved us many hours and possibly some wrong decisions if we had done this ourselves. We are ending up with a better design at a lower cost and effort.

They were great. The price was reasonable. The woman who came out delivered for the money I spent, so that was good.

What a delight Jill was to work with. She brought in roughly 6 granite samples, and I picked on out almost immediately. She brought in several possibilities of back splash tile, and together we made a killer choice. She brought in her HVAC guy for the hood and the duct work -- that was the only tense moment, as she wanted to go copper because of the dark cabinets in the kitchen...but it would have doubled the cost. We quickly agreed, and once it was done, the stainless looks just great. The cook top was easy (with her guidance)...and she even picked it up. She made several trips bringing different kinds of hardware for the pull-out cabinets and drawers; ultimately, we went without hardware and it all looks fine. Her subs were terrific people -- exactly what I would have expected from such a terrific lady. Overall, this experience far, far exceeded my expectations!

Kelli has been a great value and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend her to anyone! And she is fun to work with to boot.

I contacted Jill after reading her glowing reviews on Angie's list. I was in desperate need of help selecting paint colors in a home we are planning to sell. She called me back the same day I left her a message and I was able to get an appointment w/in the same week. She was also very flexible when I had to reschedule the appointment, which is essential when you're a Mom and things just come up. She was very helpful, professional and easy to get along with. We picked out paint colors for 4 rooms, stain for the grout being stained on the first floor, while providing me with tips on staging the house all in the same hour. She was fantastic and I would highly recommend her.

We began what became an extensive remodel of our master bedroom, master bath, and guest bath with a handyman and only a vague idea of what we wanted. When we got in over our heads in making decisions about counter surfaces and matching tiles with each other, we found Jill Gruner on Angie's List. She was like a fairy godmother in the way she made our experience during the renovation manageable and the result spectacular. She's a calm problem solver no matter what challenges arise. She interfaced with the handyman and his company when some problems became apparent. She helped us make choices which reflected our taste and lifestyle, guiding us when we really didn't know. She recommended specialists in several areas, who arrived in a logical order to perform their jobs. Each did superior work. We know that when we are ready to remodel our kitchen, we'll call her to help us again. We recommend her unreservedly for your large or small renovations.

She was awesome. I had an appointment with her and she came over. She was personable and just very nice; I liked her immediately. She had a design business in Chicago but she?s been here for some years. I told her what I wanted in the kitchen. I wanted to redo the kitchen but keep my cabinets and I wanted to put in wood floors. I needed to pull all the colors together with the cabinets and the wood floors. She took measurements and we made plans to meet the next day. When we got to the flooring and tile store, she worked so fast and she just knew what she was talking about. I was amazed at how much knowledge she had and how fast she picked up on my color palate. She was just great. Her cost was reasonable because she worked so fast. She was $90 an hour and we worked for three hours; I picked out everything. She works with all the flooring companies so they know her and how to work with her. I spent around $560 and I did over $30,000 worth of work. The other thing that she did that was really impressive was that she knew how to lay out tile and grout and she could talk turkey to the contractors. She knew what measurements they were supposed to have and she asked all the pertinent questions. She didn?t leave any loose ends with any of the companies that put in my floors, cabinets, and counters. She is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of redesigning kitchens and floors. I was impressed with her efficiency and that she carried out all the tasks. Also, I liked that she worked with what I had and put it with what?s new. She works really hard to save you money. I like her; now she?s my friend. I?m going to do some more projects and she?s waiting in the wings; I?m going to get some furniture and rugs.

OverallThis was our first time to work extensively with a designer and we able to greatly exceed our expectations and remain on budget (although, admittedly, we expanded the scope of our project). Jill, did a fantastic job of understanding what our style preferences were and help us focus our resources to maximize the impact. We couldn't be happier with the results. The ContractorsWe used two contractors that she recommended (for the built-in and for the fireplace tile) and were very pleased. Jill was more than willing to work with other contractors that we chose as well. The LogisticsJill was extremely easy to communicate with -- via email, text and telephone. We also felt that her rates and billing practices were extremely fair. She didn't nickel and dime us and always came in very close to what she estimated up front. Lastly, she was willing to pass along her discounts to us. The bottom line is that she couldn't have made it easier for us to work together.

We called Nine Design in a panic in the middle of our house remodel. We were overwhelmed with the number of decisions that we had to make in regards to selecting wood floors, tile, backsplash, paint colors, lighting, etc. Jill Gruner was able to meet with us right away and immediately got down to business. She has helped us design our master bath, kitchen, den, paint colors for the entire house & deck, kitchen, railing, and lighting. My husband and I have completely different design taste (or lack there of) and Jill was able to find a very happy medium. She charges by the hour, is extremely efficient, and doesn't waste anyone's time. We gave her our budget and she stayed within it. Jill has a very keen eye for design and detail and gave us recommendations that we never would have thought of - you should check out my kitchen black splash and turquoise bird pendant lights! We would highly, highly recommend her. We will be using her again in the near future now that we have moved in to our newly remodeled house. I have been working with Kelli Pesses of Nine Design Group to re-decorate just about every room of my house. She has been fantastic. She has great ideas. She is honest and fair with her time and billing. She is almost always available to answer my texts, calls, and emails. She is prompt. She is sweet and fun to work with. She has great ideas on where to cut corners and how to save money... and is also honest and tells you when it is worth it to spend the extra dime to do it right. I can only say great things about Kelli and Nine Design Group.

Design and construction of the bathroom went well ? even though the design was largely defined early on, Jill stayed very involved all the way through completion and she was very diligent and responsive throughout the entire construction process making sure all of the small details were taken care of. The finished bathroom is so beautiful looks like it came right out of the pages of a magazine! You wouldn?t believe the number of ?wow!? comments we have gotten from friends and family who have seen the remodeled design. It is a joy to step into that bathroom every morning to get dressed. Not only is Jill a highly talented interior designer, she went the extra mile to save money for us countless times on the project. She saved money on the tile (10% discount), saved money at Pottery barn on furniture we ordered for the kids rooms (20%) and she even saved money on the plumbing fixtures by finding a less expensive source of comparable faucets. Jill didn?t ?nickel and dime? us for emails, phone calls or even travel time. Anytime I had a question or a concern Jill was always very accessible by phone or email (usually same day) and she stopped on a regular basis during construction to make sure things were going according to the design plan. We will definitely use Jill again in the future. If you are searching for a really talented interior designer who is easy to work with and who can transform your space and give it a ?wow!? look, we have no hesitation in recommending Jill Gruner from Nine Design.

We are extremely happy with the design result. Things look great. Jill worked within our style and budget guidelines for materials, helped us find installers/painters for things as well and was able to manage everything in our short timeline! We would most definitely recommend Nine Design Group to anyone who asked. We questioned getting a designer to begin with (it felt frivolous), but so much of our time in picking things our, testing our choices etc was saved and it looks better than we could ever have done on our own!! We will definitely use Jill again for our next home project!

Excellent experience! Our home is an open concept home and we thought we could do particular colors and accent walls and well - no, we can't. We had repainted some walls, rooms twice and were at our wits end when we found the Nine Design Group. In absolute frustration and serious desperation I emailed them and got an immediate email back...on a SUNDAY. I made the first appointment I could - which was Tuesday evening. Kelli came out to our home with a lot of paint samples (on paper) and we just worked through it. We decided on particular colors. Went the next day to buy the paint, painted the following weekend and we loved it. Kelli did not pick the colors for us. She asked us what we were looking for and suggested certain things and then kinda let us pick what we wanted. It was an interesting interaction because we were so tired of looking at color and we just wanted someone to tell us what to paint our walls and well - she didn't. She guided us to pick the colors we wanted and well - I appreciate that. It made us feel like we had a solid contribution in picking our color for our home. She is great!

Having never owned a home or used a decorator before, I joined Angie's List to find someone to help with a color change for our living room. Jill's website appealed to me and now, with our decorating coming to a close, I have to say she has exceeded my expectations. After Jill assisted us with wall color and selection of a sofa, love seat, and sleeper sofa for our guest bedroom/office, we were so pleased with the results that we decided to continue with more decorating. For every project, Jill had a professional and reliable contractor to recommend, a store to visit, and/or an online site to view. We had a bedroom closet converted into a computer workstation, ceiling fans installed in most rooms and the back porch, window treatments and wood flooring installed, and we added a massage chair, lamps, vases, and tables that completed the living room. Not only did Jill quickly respond to my questions for the last six months, she was also always available to meet us for personal help at a store or in our home. While her talent is most impressive and she has made our house feel like a home for the first time since we moved in almost four years ago, Jill's personality and the fun of being with her also kept our spirits going when we were in disagreement on colors and styles, indecisive on purchases, or feeling stressed. I cannot imagine having done this without Jill and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a professional and gifted decorator.

I've used her before and she was great then and she's great now! I am going to post a picture of the deck, and you'll see exactly what I mean. For a relatively low sum of $$ (compared to what that deck cost), I got critical feedback on selections. Indeed,I almost screwed up by picking the wrong composite decking color. Just look at the attached picture, as it'll be speak thousands!! Jill rocks when it comes to fabulous selections.

Jill has always been very responsive, professional and creative in helping us to achive the look we're working towards. She has made great recommendations, tailored to what we're looking for, and has given us some creative ideas. We've used a number of her vendors and they have all been very responsive and performed the work professionally. We're very excited to be moving into the next stage of finalizing the decorating and are looking forward to continuing to work with Jill.

Janine made our remodel a huge success! At the beginning of the calendar year, we decided we were ready to complete a dining room, kitchen, and living room remodel. Not quite sure where to start, we thought we had a plan as to what we wanted, we searched Angie's List for an Interior Design/Decorator and found Janine. We left her a message over the weekend and she returned the call that weekend! This promptness continued through the 8 months of working with Janine (she responded to all phone calls, texts and emails within 24 hours). She met us early one morning and within 15 minutes in our home, she saw a change to our proposed layout, which involved moving walls, that would allow us to meet our goals on the remodel and obtain a kitchen island which we didn't think was possible. She helped us define our interior "style" when we didn't even know what to call it! She brought her own architect in to design the plans and then she brought in various contractors for us to interview. She educated us on what to ask and look for in a contractor to meet our needs and our style. After contractor selection, she did everything from paint color selection to fixture/furniture/appliance shopping. She is very knowledgeable on all areas on home remodeling, decorating and design and she will do as little or as much as the client wants and works within the defined budget. When the remodel was complete, she assisted us with reviewing our current accessories and seeing what would work and what we still needed to purchase.

My husband and I had built our home while we were engaged. Not imagining how our individual styles...or lack thereof, would fit together in the home. After we moved in we realized our combined style choices in furnishings etc was beyond eclectic, it was chaotic. Janine was able to come in and help. With just a few easy changes, and gentle prodding to let the disco era go (my husband...not me), we were able to combine the better pieces of our individual collections with style and grace. A big thank you to Janine for her fabulous insight.

Jill Gruner is fabulous. Excellent eye for everything. Great personality, just like talking to her. Handles issues quite well. WOW, i'm glad I found her. She charges by the hour and doesn't sell stuff, she buys stuff on your behalf. MUCH BETTER way to go than having an interior decorator also be salesperson who makes commission (been there done that).

When we bought a new house in November, 2009, we contacted Janine Charland to see if she would guide us through renovation and decoration. We wanted to completely redo the kitchen and master bathroom, paint the entire interior, and most of all incorporate the furniture we already had with dozens of carpets and artifacts acquired through years of living overseas. Janine was friendly, extremely helpful, and upfront about everything from decorating decisions to financial aspects. She provided ideas, websites for purchases of all kinds of fixtures, designed a marvelous display cabinet for an entire wall, guided our choice of color schemes, helped with the hiring of a contractor, designed layouts for wall decorations and furniture placement, and in general was absolutely indispensable! The end result was perfect ? exactly what we had in mind, even though we didn't know it at the time! Janine has the ability to provide help, suggestions, and completely new ideas while at the same time keeping in mind the constraints and sometimes murky vision of her clients. She was excellent at organizing the shopping/purchasing aspect of the renovation, providing numerous money-saving options. We were supremely happy with her work and would recommend her to anyone doing any sort of renovation or redecorating!

My experience with them has been very good and she has been wonderful. She is responsive, listens to what I want and is willing to work with me, within the parameters of what I need. She has only been here a couple of time, but I have been pleased with the experience so far.

I quickly realized Janine has a great eye for detail. She was able to assist me with some simple changes that can made a big difference. I felt she really took the time to understand what my lifestyle and personality was like and what would work for me. Unlike a lot of designers/decorators, I didn't feel she was trying to get me to express her personality, but, facilitating the clarification of my own ideas and vision for my home. I've also taken the time to look at some of the home staging and office designs she's completed - as a business owner myself I wanted to see what difference, if any, having an interior designer on board would make for my future office. The only thing I can say is WOW. I can't believe how welcoming and livable Janine can make a waiting room. Her work - and work ethic are truly amazing.
