Nine Design Group

Jill the owner/designer was really good at listening to what we liked, working with us to find an overall theme and direction for the remodel, and helped politely push us "out of the box" in new directions. She was open and honest with us always. Jill is extremely well informed on styles and trends, what will last and what wont. She is very well connected to local and online vendors and contractors. We will be returning to work with Jill in the future!

I have been planning a home remodel for a couple of years and new I needed help with putting it all together. I had met with another designer but when it came time to start my process I realized I was not happy with the interaction with the other designer so I researched online and found Nine Design Group. I met with Jill and immediately liked her and felt she new what I wanted and could help me through the process. The first time we met to "shop" for various items, I knew I had made the right decision when we both picked the same floor tile during separate shopping trips. We are 99% complete with remodeling and redesigning and I am so thankful Jill was there to help me with an enormous amount of decisions. Many times I told Jill to pick something for me because I trusted her so much. At times I wasn't sure I liked things and we made a few changes but usually once things were put together I could see the vision that she had to make my home what I asked her to help me do. She always responds promptly and would notice things about the remodel that I had missed. Unfortunately I had difficulties with my contractor and Jill helped with the communication problems to keep things on track as much as possible. Thank you Jill for all your wonderful help and making my vision of my home come true!!

We found Jill from Nine Design Group right here on Angie's List. We started a large project and found that we quickly got overwhelmed with the number of decisions that were facing us. We called Jill and she responded to us promptly! She came out to the house and we immediately knew that we had called the right designer. She is such a good listener, patient and full of great ideas. She has amazing taste, she is conscious of the budget and found creative solutions along the way! Whether it was questions on color, textiles, granite or tile, she always gave us options and/or suggestions that we loved! We are preparing to start another project and are looking forward to working with her again! I have recommended her to friends and family! She is simply the BEST!

It went very well. She was polite, friendly, and on time. She helped us pick out colors we love. We would not have been able to figure out what we wanted without her help in deciding what appealed most to us. She went from room to room and had many different samples for us to try. She even left samples with us that we were able to take to a paint place and have made up. She gave us advice and answered our question as they came up - including rug sizes for a room, where it would be most appropriate to use bolder colors. She gave us a list of places we could look for accessories and rugs with good prices. The only thing that lacked was that she said she would send us a list of the things we talked about in email. I never received this. She took down my email, but also has my phone number. I could call her just as easily, but I was a little disappointed this was forgotten or not attended to. EDIT: The provider did send me the intended email. Gmail will always bounce back for this sort of misspelling, tested it myself. However, I do believe the email was intended for me close to the time we had our consultation and would consider this to be a miscommunication. Overall, we are very happy with the provider.

Outstanding experience. We had a discussion about interior design questions I had. Offered wonderful solutions. She was professional and right to the point for my needs. I really liked her a lot. She helped with paint selection and even offered her discount at a couple stores so I could get supplies.

Jill was wonderful. She adapts and works well with client's individual style. She made very good recommendations and helped arrange for window treatments to be made. I will work with her again!

The process went fairly smoothly for a redesign with putting in a hand laid wood floor, all new furniture, ripping out the front of the fireplace and adding an antique mantel and stacked stone and tile, retiling the backsplash in the kitchen, redoing the lighting in the kitchen and breakfast rooms, and adding windows to the kitchen. Jill was a dream to work with and worth every penny. The house turned out better than I ever could have dreamed!

I have been working with Jill since January. She has expertly guided me with many of the selections and decisions necessary to get this house built. Jill also follows up with a detailed report listing all of the pertinent information on each of the selections. Jill has accompanied me to various vendors and helped explain the advantages and disadvantages of a possible selection. She has also advised me with the placement of furniture. I have asked a million questions and she always has helpful answers. This project is on going and I plan on working with Jill for awhile..

We hired Jill to help us make some decorating decisions overall, with the focus on transforming our bland fireplace wall. We had our own thoughts, but her guidance, insight and team of experts, made what could have been a nerve racking process, not only seamless, but truly a pleasure. Since we're new to the area, we had no idea who to tap into for the various aspects of the project we had in mind. Jill's advice and team of experts made the process run smoothly. Adam with Spradling & Son's was professional and started the project, with his carpentry expertise. Reid with Decker Electric saved us by staying on track until the job was done, helping us move forward with the project. Cesar Adame (flooring & tile) did a masterful job of the stonework for our fireplace wall. Eli's Carpet Service came in with a crew, tacked down the carpet, with speed and efficiency. Mike Brace, carpenter/fix it guy, helped install a stained glass window and wine rack. It was a great feeling having caring and talented people helping!! Each of the above were kind, professional and seemed to care about what they did. We have some other projects in mind for the future. Without question we will reach out to Jill again!! .

Although it was high in price for an hour consultation, I did get a professional's opinions about some issues. That was valuable.

Unfortunately we never got passed the consultation phase as we decided to look at selling our current home and buying a new home as an option.

Jill is FABULOUS!! I am remodeling my kitchen (painting cabinets, countertops, backsplash, appliances, lighting, etc.) and the thought of having to make all of these decisions by myself overwhelmed me. I met with one of her employees in the fall to help give me a direction. I was concerned that I may not be able to afford a designer with my budget, but she assured me we could make it as expensive (she goes to all of the stores with me to pick materials, etc) or as affordable (we could meet for an hour or two, have her give me a plan, then I do all the legwork) as I desired. I chose to do all of the legwork myself. Because of the holidays I had to put get project aside and finally began working on it January 2014. I called Jill for a follow up appointment to make sure the materials I chose worked together, choose paint colors, light fixtures, appliances, and help me find a place to do a reclaimed wood island. She is awesome. In a short amount of time she helped me finalize EVERYTHING. She spoke with the company she gets tile through to see if she could get it cheaper than I found it, emailed her contact to get me prices for appliances that might be cheaper than what I found (I haven't received that yet so I can't say if it was cheaper, but in all fairness, she just left a few hours ago), found me a light fixture for both my kitchen and dining room, select a paint color for cabinets and walls, and even helped me with the accessories in the room. Did I mention she is awesome? It was such a lifesaver as I am a mom of 4 year old twins and have precious little free time to do this kind of project. I would recommend Jill to any and everyone I know. She is fast, efficient, extremely talented and fun to work with. Regardless of your budget, you cannot afford NOT to hire her.

Have not started project yet. Kellie has great ideas, but holidays and out of town guests have delayed my project.

Kelli was fantastic. I will definitely be using her in the future for remodeling!

After I tried 15 paint colors, I was done. I called Nine Design Group and made an appointment. After showing her around, Kelli picked out the paint colors; I went and got paint samples, and they were perfect! She also looked over the fixtures I ordered and made changes that made a lot of sense to me. I don't live in a mansion, just a simple ranch home. I'm glad I didn't feel intimidated and called Nine Design Group!

Jill is quick and efficient. She listens carefully and has fantastic suggestions without pushing her ideas onto you. She helped with every element of our home from finding the right furniture to choosing colours, and refitting our oven cupboard to house a double oven. Her advice and discounts saved us thousands in dollars, and hundreds of hours. More than pays for herself.

Iill Gruner was on time and very professional. She correctly assessed the type of input I was looking for and covered a great deal of ground in discussing design options, design suggestions and recommended sources for materials. She even sent additional information after our appointment. I would definitely ask Jill for design assistance again.

Heavy duty remodel and staging for resale, thought we might need a general contractor. Jill was able to provide great subs, get them to work together in a coordinated fashion, and came in on budget and close enough schedule wise. Some comments from sophisticated relatives: You need to give this gal a superb recommendation. Everything looks magnificent. We agree. Highest recommendation.

The designer responded quickly and walked through our home. Our immediate need was for a nice carpet for our living area since we had guests coming for the holidays. But I also was looking for a critical eye and assistance with reviewing the furniture and décor that we had and to request some professional assistance with improving the interior of our home. Our designer completed a walk through and offered some thoughts on moving our couches around (which was helpful) and offered to search for a rug to meet our needs. In the following week or so, she emailed options for rugs at a local store. She was professional, prompt and responsive, however, the rugs that were sent to us through email were not the quality and type that we preferred. We wanted an nice oriental rug, however the suggested rugs, though expensive and available on the Internet, were not what we had in mind. When we went to the store where we were referred with our email in hand with the photos of rugs - the sales people indicated that they were not able to find the rugs that I showed them in their show room and appeared somewhat puzzled that they were supposed to have had them at that location. We did eventually find an oriental rug with much searching that was of a much higher quality and the right (larger) size - but not those suggested. After the consultation I was surprised to receive a bill for $200 for the services provided. Perhaps my expectations were not calibrated correctly, but I was not expecting a bill that high.

After reading the reviews for Nine Design, I decided to call them because I too was stuck prior to my remodel of two bathrooms. I wanted to make sure there weren't any product suggestions or good design ideas that I'd overlooked or was unaware of. I outlined my renovation plans to Jill when she arrived. There was a lot of information packed into that hour! She suggested using a Panasonic vent fan/heater/light that is very quiet and sent me the product information in an email following our appointment. She also suggested tiling the walls at least around the back of the toilets for easy cleaning and using a grout that doesn't need to be sealed. When I said I wanted a mirror with light coming from behind it, she told me that can be done by putting a 2 x 4 on the wall with LED running lights wrapped around it. I took lots of notes and felt I got good value for the money.

It was the first time we had used them. We worked with Jill and she was really professional and knowledgeable. She helped us pick out paint colors and furniture among other things.

Kelli is great! She came to my apartment to see what I owned and discuss how I saw things working in my new condo. We then drove to the condo and chose paints. Her color memory is phenomenal, and her advice was spot-on. She recommended a painter, who did the work the week after we talked, and I was thrilled with how well it turned out. Kelli then returned to help me arrange furniture, finding space where I didn't think it could be found, and making suggestions on how to save money on the few purchases I need to make to complete "our" vision for the spaces. I especially appreciated that she kept my budget in mind. Kelli also organized and hung pictures throughout the first floor rooms, making me feel as if I were settled right away. Additionally, she gave me the name of a handyman who is coming next week to hang curtain rods and some art in the stairway. Finally, she's given me multiple options for my bedroom, which has two off-center windows and hard-to-arrange large pieces of furniture. Kelli is professional, always on time, and good at communicating ideas. She doesn't waste time, either, which I really appreciated. Ultimately, her emphasis was on ensuring I was satisfied with my home - and I am! This is the first time I've used an interior decorator, and now I wonder why I waited so long.
