They were definitely expecting me to repeat the bad service from the day before the next day. They were very clear that it would be the case and that they were unwilling to do anything about it.

See above. They can't be beat for speed, workmanship and especially getting stuff covered under warranty.

I'll start this out by saying I'm not very happy with these guys. They did a great job with the presales and installation and then the quality fell off a cliff. They replaced our 15-year-old residential HVAC system with a new two-stage, high-efficiency Carrier system. The lead installer was Jensen. When he turned the system on, he seemed to be struggling a bit with the thermostat. Finally he said that sometimes it takes a couple of days for them to settle down since it's a high-tech, Wi-Fi system. I should have known? The system ran and ran and ran. Actually it never shut off. You couldn't shut it off. It ran for a solid week. It cooled the house but was not removing humidity. The place was like a swamp. I complained and they sent out David to take a look at it. He spent four hours troubleshooting system. He indicated that everything appeared to be installed correctly so it was probably the thermostat. He finally agreed to replace the thermostat with a temporary so we could at least get the humidity out of the house. And hopefully the system wouldn't run 24x7. We ended up with a the most basic of thermostats. You can't even program it. Didn't know they made these anymore. David said he needed to talk to his boss and someone would get back to us. This was Friday. The system had been installed about 10 days at this point. We had an appointment the following Wednesday to have a manager come out to the house for a regular quality control check. Denise called and asked if it would be okay if the manager brought the thermostat out to the house on Wednesday. I finally said sure, what's another couple of days? Wednesday comes around and the appointment is between 1 and 4 PM. I take the afternoon off from work to be here. Russell shows up at 5:05 PM and is completely clueless about what needs to be done. No thermostat. He does take back the defective one and promises to make it right. He also agrees that they would fix the insulation that they tore up and didn't replace. And that's it. Haven't heard from them since. So this is gone from what should have been a relatively smooth installation to an increasingly painful chore. I've got to give them a "D" for the performance so far. It's been pretty weak. Update on 6/15: Russell indicated that he would have someone get right back to us after his visit on 6/10. Finally on Monday, 6/15 I gave up waiting and called. They had no clue that the follow-up was still needed. Ball dropped again. We set up a follow-up appointment for Friday 6/19 to get the thermostat installed. So another 10 days goes by and more time off work.

They were great. They came out when they said they would, gave a reasonable estimate, did the work as promised, on time, and on budget. No surprises and they cleaned up extremely well.

I called on a Saturday to say one of my a/c units was not working. The repairman (Adam) mentioned that if the problem is a blocked drain line that I would have to pay for the service since that type of service call is not covered by my warranty. He gave me a little info on how to check if it was blocked. That wasn't the problem so he came to repair the unit (he was here about a half hour after I called... on a SATURDAY!) He found a blown fuse in the unit and then tracked down the reason for the blown fuse which was a pinched wire on the outside unit. He fixed that, replaced the fuse, and everything went back to normal. While he was troubleshooting he was very careful to explain what would and would not be covered by my warranty. It turned out that my problem was covered, but I found out a lot that about my warranty that I never knew before, some of it a little surprising. Anyway, I was very pleased with the quick response to my call. I was equally impressed by the repairman's knowledge of both my system and how the warranties work.

I would never call them again. I had a terrible experience with him. When I called them, I didn't have a good experience with the person. They wouldn't listen to what I was saying and just kept trying to sell me something so I just said, come out and do the maintenance thing. The guy that came was terrible. He didn't do everything he was supposed to do and didn't find the problem. He either lied about it or was totally incompetent. I had to call someone else and they checked all the coolant levels and found that it was completely empty. The other company had to put in a whole bunch of coolants.

They’re the only people who can work on the machine that we’ve got. Nobody else seems to be able to do it. We bought a machine from Mitsubishi and it turned out to be extremely service intensive. It also has very few people that actually could do work on it. We didn’t realize that when we bought it but we have it now. The men they sent out are co-operative and do their best. They are very good. They are pretty good to work with. They respond pretty promptly to our requests and they do the best they can on this particular equipment. We have no way to make a comparison with regard to their price. They tell us they come anytime between 9 and 5.

It took the guy about 5-10 minutes to diagnose the problem and then about 15 minutes to change out the switch. They charged an additional $195 which I felt was too much.

called to have a service man come out and do a diagnostic. The phone rang numerous times then I was routed to hold for next person. The person who eventually came on seem lost about how to help me. She transferred me to another person. That person never picked up. I called back. After some discussion as to how many times I was put on hold, etc. she told me " she was sorry I was having a bad day". Then she transferred me again. While holding I get a call waiting. It was the person from McCullough. There are companies that do a better job..

I sought an annual inspection of our furnace system and they came through as agreed and did a good job. I used the Snap Fix app to set things up, which was very convenient in not having to call around multiple service providers.

With the end of the summer came the end of our A/C unit. I called McCullough after reading their excellent reviews on Angie's List and other sites. The first time we needed their service was on a Saturday night after I had returned home from work only to find that my A/C was not working at all! Their technician, Robert, was at my house quickly, resolved the issue and they did not overcharge for the weekend / late night service call. The next time I called, the service went just as smoothly. Once the technician, David, determined that our unit was at the end of its life (after 18 yrs), he was upfront and honest, and told us that he would definitely recommend having one of their "Comfort Consultants" come out to discuss new unit options with us, which is what we decided to do. I spoke with Denise, who was very friendly, and she had us on the schedule for the next morning. Tony was the consultant that met with my husband and he was very professional and knowledgeable about the products and answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and they also handle all of the rebates with the energy company for their clients, making it a truly hassle-free experience! We then had the pleasure of working with Jensen, who completed the installation of our new unit. He did an excellent job! Again, very professional, and seemed to go above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, even when dealing with a nest of angry hornets! I already have, and will continue to recommend McCullough to anyone who needs their services! Thank you McCullough, for keeping us COOL!!!

Crews were very competent and cleaned up as they went. Old a/c units were removed and replaced within one day. Rebuilding duct systems took an additional day. Replacement of some venting grills took a few days to locate correct sizes. Company coordinated city inspections and filing for rebates from manufacturer and energy companies. Whole operation went very smoothly.

They have been doing work on my system for a while now and they always do good service. This call they sent out a new tech and he did the best he could.

McCullough was great. Customer service was top notch. When minor problems came up it was always clear that McCullough was going to do things right and make sure that we were happy. Everyone I dealt with was professional, thorough, and competent.

Absolutely tops in all aspects of service. Went the extra mile to see if the unit was still under warranty, instead of just charging me, and it was under warranty! The only company I'll use for air and heat repair!!

Contractor did a reasonable job replacing the upstairs HVAC. Install went smoothly, but followup has been poor. We asked for a solution a problem with poor air flow into the master bedroom which was never addressed. We asked for all of the windows on the front of the house to get shaded screens. Months and months later, we still have two windows that are not covered and we have called on four separate occasions to get it resolved. Every time we are assured that someone will fix it. It has now been almost six months with no resolution. We asked for details for a followup yearly service plan which were never delivered.

IThe Good: I got a really great Carrier AC system and, in combination with the weatherization, the house stays really cool and my energy bills have lowered considerably. The Bad: McCulloughs communication and scheduling was absolutely awful. In particular, they never told me when they would be coming by to perform work. Making it really hard for me to be home when I need to be at work. They also no showed on several appointments and had to reschedule last minute several times. A quote from my email exchange with them: "I'm getting pretty frustrated with the vague times and constant short notice rescheduling with non-detailed follow up. This is a pattern that I've been experiencing with you guys from the very beginning when my first appointment was rescheduled due to "Food Poisoning"." As you can tell, I was getting pretty frustrated with them. In addition to the poor communication and punctuality, they also did a terrible job of doing the work they were supposed to do and cleaning up after themselves. They had to come to my house more than twice after the final job was "completed" to fix mistakes that has been made. On the first round, they completely forgot to insulate an ENTIRE attic. It was a pretty big oversight. It was pretty apparent that they didn't do a very good job checking themselves when they were done either. They tried to leave the house saying they were done when they hadn't even gone back to the master to clean up a gigantic tarp and a plethora of tools. I knew I should have been concerned when the first thing they told me on the first day is that it was one of the guy's first day on the job...it showed. Overall, a pretty poor showing from a highly rated company. I'm happy with the system I got, but I'm on the fence if I would use McCullough again. **UPDATE** McCullough reached out to me shortly after posting this review and offered a year of their "comfort club" services where they would come out twice within the year to make the sure AC unit is ready for Winter and Summer. They have completed the initial inspection for Winter and have emailed me to schedule the summer check up.

Very happy with the entire experience with Alex Stevens initial meeting, quoting, installation and post installation was all superb.

There was some rework but I'm happy in the end.

Only company to communicate in detail. Written estimate naming exact parts used and warranty given. Showed on the install date and installation completed same day. My tenant was comfortable with the workers. The price was the best of three estimates, beating the top estimate by $1600. I live in Dallas and the work was done in Austin. As a lessor, I am delighted to find people I can trust to bid the job fairly and do the work competently.

Unlike other vendors, these people didn't try to up-sell us and were able to give us exactly what we needed. They were punctual, efficient, and thorough, and they coordinated with the electrician so that everything could be done in one day. An inspector even came out afterward to ensure everything had been done right and that we'd been given the proper instructions on cleaning the filters to keep the unit running efficiently. As for the unit, itself, I can't praise the Mitsubishi ductless a/c highly enough. It's so quiet we can't even tell when it's on and it keeps the room at a consistent temperature, unlike the variations in a central air conditioning system. Their pricing was competetive, though the electrician was an extra cost. Although we had bought a unit online, hoping to be able to install it more cheaply, we'd ended up returning it and paying the extra to have the job done right - and are glad we did.

They did an evaluation to see if there were any leaks or problems. They advised me that my A/C still had life. An energy auditor and an A/C tech came out to look at my needs. The A/C tech even showed me how to wash off the filter myself.
