Tony came out and gave us a quote. He fully explained options, cost, financing, etc. No pressure approach and gave us different reasonable options to consider. We decided on a Carrier Infinity series and some duct work improvements. Zach, Derek and the rest of the crew completed the job in a day. They were extremely polite and professional, very careful with the changes required in the house, and great at explaining everything. We were blown away at how quiet the unit is (our other unit made so much noise) and Zach took the time to explain how to get the best out of the new system. From Rhonda in our initial call, to Tony, Zach, Derek, Vinny, Sade and the others, it was a great experience. I highly recommend McCullough.

Needless to say, McCullough is no longer the company I use for air conditioning services.

Its hard to know the truth. But these are the facts: Their technician told me our AC unit would likely need to be replaced with the next hot day (something about the amperage). On the next hot day our AC was not working. Luckily, the house across the street had another AC company having work done. They looked over our AC unit and noticed it was unplugged and that some drain was misplaced which would have cause significant damage. Its hard to know whether this was an accident or done on purpose. This was either negligence or dishonesty. Either way, they hurt us. I feel bad for the negative review, but when we notified them of the problem, they were not exactly sympathetic.

The technician, Adan, was on time and very thorough.

They arrived an hour after I called and fixed the problem at a reasonable price. I had used them before and will again if I need them.

My hesitation in not giving all A's is I think the maintenance agreements are getting to be overpriced with their last price increase and may not be of that much value. Also the reason for the service call in Jan 2017 was one of the blowers was coming on but not staying on & the tech found a part loose inside the unit - and this unit had just been serviced under the agreement less than 3 months prior so it either should have been caught or it was probably knocked loose by the check the tech thought. Couldn't be definitive so paid the service call fee but left us wondering.

Went great. I've worked with McCullough for years and they are always there when I need them. I don't feel like I'm being sold more than I need. It is a nice feeling. They are patient when I don't understand something and I trust their advice.

It is mid September on a Monday night and 94 degrees outside (over 100 with heat index) when my A/C stops working. I called 4 companies that advertised 24/hr service and this is the only company that answered the phone after 8pm. I even left 2 messages with companies (1 vmail and the other an answering service, and neither called me back). Adan took my call and was at my home within 40 minutes from South Austin to Pflugerville. He was efficient, professional and very knowledgeable. He gave me different options on the repair (single versus dual compressor), completed the repair and checked freon levels and the furnace in the attic. He was fantastic! I will use this company when I replace my furnace and a/c later this year.

Work done as requested and on time. Helped with rebates with Austin Energy program, even helped with tax rebates the next year.

called to request FREON be installed in my AC unit. Refused to make appt to install FEON unless i paid for them to do test for FREON LEAKs. That's not what i wanted, already had a leak check done, there's a small leak in the coils in the attic. The confirmed presence of a leak is why I need 1LB of freon installed each Summer. My assumption is that they don't make enough money for the labor to install FREON, so they impose an uneeded and unwanted leak test. Unacceptable. rated "F"

Showed up promptly when scheduled and worked extra hours to complete the job in one day.

I would not recommend this company for repairs. The service tech tried to upsell me to whole new replacement unit because my system was aging. I would not have known my unit was repairable (new coil needed) had I not called another company to check the unit for a 2nd opinion. I understand there are several options for addressing an aging system, but when a customer asks for all options for repairs, they expect to be offered all viable choices for repairs. I now have a working AC system for only $1,000 versus the $6,000 option they suggested.

This company performed a very minimal task and wanted to charge me an outrageous amount. I knew I had a leak and they came out and told me I had a leak and then want to charge me $400 for leak detection. They didn't even want to go upstairs and inspect anything further.

First off let me say that this company is a fantastic company to do business with! I received a few quotes from different companies here in Austin, TX to install a new Heating and Air Conditioning system. McCullough's quote was right in line with all the other quotes I had received. But here is where they stood apart from all the rest: 1. The salesman David took his time in putting together the quote for us. He measured the existing closet where the new unit was to be installed to insure that the new unit would fit. He also inspected our existing duct work in the attic and inspected the condenser outside of our home. Other companies that came out to our house did not do that at all!! 2. When the day came to install our new unit the technician was on time and very courteous. He even laid down a sheet on the floor so when he disassembled the old unit there was a place to put the old dirty parts instead of putting them directly on our carpet. Overall everything McCullough stated they would do they did. The whole process went smooth!!!! I would highly recommend this company to anyone that needs a new AC unit! You wont be let down!!

They were okay. One time, one technician that came out to do the service just wasn't very friendly or helpful. We had a couple of issues where we had an appointment scheduled and they were late. I called to ask about it and they weren't very helpful about when they were going to be out. Overall, friendliness and professionalism hold it back.

tony was our sales rep and he was great. answered all of my questions promptly and was very easy to work with. the problems started with the duct-work replacement. first, they stepped through our master bedroom ceiling and created a 2x2' hole. we were okay with this as accidents do happen. the real problems started when holes 2, 3 and 4 were created, one being a HUGE hole in the garage. the did switch crews in the middle of our project and told us that the guy that created the first hole was a rookie. there was one really nice girl on the second crew that was helpful and nice. no one else really talked to us or apologized for mistakes made. what really set me over the edge with mccullough was they did not put down floor protector while doing all of this duct work so where was literally a layer of dust over the whole house and piles in some areas from the debris coming out of the ducts/vents. it is stated in their contact that they will provide this and didn't act like it was a big deal when i asked why they didn't do it. after calling/emailing them about it multiple times, they agreed to send a cleaner out to clean the house. she did a sub-par job cleaning and when she left, there was still dust/debris on the floor boards. also, there was a dirt stain on our living room rug that i had asked them at least 5 times about getting cleaned professionally. at our final meeting, they brought over a rug cleaner machine and some cleaning supplies and worked on it. the rug still didn't look "clean" but at this point we were so sick of dealing with them, we said it was fine. with all of that said, our new AC does work nicely. ***UPDATE*** rhonda (office manager) contacted me regarding this review and offered to have our rug professionally cleaned. after the rug cleaning, we are satisfied.

It was horrible. I'll never use them again. We were buying a new house and we had gotten a house inspector and the inspector had recommended them. He said we should have the AC unit at the end of he house checked out by an AC company. The Realtor recommended them and said they are popular in the neighborhood We hadn't purchased the house yet, we were basically asking for an inspection to be done on the unit. I was quoted one price over he phone then there was a 4 hours wait for the appointment. I basically sat around the whole day in an empty house waiting for them. They show up around 5:00 pm. When he gets here, the first thing he tells me is, there are two units so the price is double. So he spent 2 hours looking around and didn't do anything and then gave me a ridiculous quote that basically says I needed to replace the unit and he said if he had to come out another time, it would be another 50 dollar charge. They basically charged me 300 dollars to do absolutely nothing. It was just the worst experience. And then I actually paid somebody half the price to service it and everything. I felt completely scammed and I was irritated. There was no communication, there was nothing. He wanted me out of his way and didn't want to show me or explain anything. There was even no sorry that he was late. The only reason our inspector recommended that we have it looked at was because it was 15 years old and usually the life on them is about 12 years or something like that. I had to actually call a neighbor to pick my kids from day care because I spent the whole day at the house. They weren't rude or horrible. There was actually zero followup after the work which surprised me for them being the company they are.

We have used McCullough for many years and have always been pleased with the company's professionalism and customer service. We moved a few years ago and it was time to replace our downstairs central HVAC. McCullough gave us several options and we decided on the two stage Carrier Infinity system with a WiFi thermostat. The system came with a ten year parts and labor warranty so that was good. The two stage compressor saves energy and enables better humidity control. The crew that came to install the new system was amazing. Very professional and friendly and they used drop clothes and cleaned up after themselves. The service manager came to do a quality control check about a week later to make sure everything was installed properly. We love the new system and our bills are much lower!

It went excellent, they do a very good job. They have a really long check list so it was very thorough.
