Fantastic. I interviewed 3-4 different companies before selecting Heath and the team at Longhorn Lawns. They responded promptly to all emails and calls during the vetting process and were on time to all appointments. Heath, the owner, was involved personally from the beginning and he and Arturo were the only ones that made recommendations based on what we really needed vs. what would make them the most money. They were right on budget and were able to get the full job done exactly when they said they would. Integrity flows through everyone there and Julie in the office always quick to respond with any questions I may have. As a small business owner myself, this is exactly how I strive to run my business. A+.

When we first called Longhorn Lawns early 8/2012, Heath immediately came to our house and was very profressional. He sure knows everything about lawns, landscaping, gardens, etc.!!! We contacted this company as they are on Angie's List--and we just moved to Austin. Heath gave us an estimate and it was good! --agreement for lawn cutting and trimming every 2 weeks during growth months per year. First time the team did a great job--even trimmed some overgrown bushes, etc. They continue to do a great job every 2 weeks and I will use them for additional yard trimming (trees, etc,) in the future as needed, also (extra charge). The office personnel Heather and Julie are also very helpful and responsive.

They were very professional and got a bid to me in a timely manner (despite me calling in the middle of their busiest season). The quote was comprehensive and detailed. I was able to understand exactly what they proposed: remove existing sod (what was left of it), put down 6 yards of top soil and resod with St. Augustine Palmetto. They were able to show up 3 days earlier than originally scheduled. They called me to make sure this would be OK first. The workmen did exactly what was proposed and left absolutely no mess or debris. They even ran the sprinkler over the new sod as they put it down. This is critical for new sod. I was provided with very detailed instructions on how to care for my new sod in the near future and ongoing. Overall I was very impressed with their professionalism and with the quality of their work. I would recommend this company to anyone. They are very professional. They are very nice estimators and the mowers are very good. I am very pleased with them.

There were no glitches from beginning to end. From quote to completion, everyone from Longhorn showed up when they said they would and kept me in the loop while the project was ongoing. They did a wonderful job!

They were responsive and where they would be when they said they would be. It was a fairly large crew and they were fast. A little pricier than other services I have used for just a basic mow and edge but I needed someone who could get out right away and they were able to do this. The only thing I did not like was when they used the blowers on the back porch, they blew stuff everywhere, and there was lots of dirt/debris blown into the house and up onto shelves and containers, but it wasn't the end of the world.

I contacted Longhorn Lawns to see about providing routine lawn care services for my home. They were very responsive to my phone call, and I had an email estimate within a couple of days. I went with weekly service, and they have been coming out for the last 2 months. Their price was a little bit higher than some of the other companies I had contacted, but their service is outstanding. I'd give them a B+/A- on price if I had that option! My lawn looks so much better when they come than when I had other companies coming. They move my hose/lawn furniture as needed, and they even filled a hole in my yard (at least I think it was them ;-) I don't know who else would have done it!). I would definitely recommend them for anyone wanting routine lawn care services.

Longhorn Lawns has been a breath of fresh air for me. As an out-of-town (former Austinite) landlord who owns property in Austin, it was a nerve-wracking experience finding someone I felt comfortable with. Longhorn Lawns has not only been exceptionally responsive to all my questions, calls, and emails, but that has also accommodated my "last minute" requests for minor landscaping tasks, as well. Additionally, LL (Longhorn Lawns) was able to provide a bi weekly mowing service which was lacking in most places I contacted. The service includes mowing, edging, and debris removal. There were no feeble attempts at up-selling at the time I decided to retain their services. They were willing to commit to the same day of the week for servicing. I have requested quotes for minor landscaping tasks such as tree cleaning and raising and hedge trimming as well. In each case, the quotes were sent, not only in a timely manner, but also exactly when promised. As an added convenience to my tenant, they were able to schedule these services on the same day as my normal lawn servicing day. Invoices arrive in a timely manner and there are multiple different billing and payment methods available for your convenience. I look forward to continued business with Longhorn Lawns and I have no reason to seek Lawn Service and Landscaping services from anyone else.

They come out every two weeks. Overall, the job went fine. I would just recommend them for overall. They hadn't any landscaping done, but just a lawn care.

After many emails, an appointment was set up for 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28th, a time that the company selected and we said fine, that works for us. They never showed up. At 3:30 that afternoon, they emailed and said they would not be able to make it, and would like to reschedule. We made it a point to stay near the phone all day awaiting their call---our property cannot be entered without a gate code. They never called. They seemed quite disorganized to me. This was not a good experience at all.

I highly recommend LL. With regard to lawn maintenance, the quality of the work is very high, and I am generally very happy with the weekly service. In addition, LL crews note items that need to be addressed (such as insufficient watering) to keep the lawns and beds look great. I appreciate the quality of the work and the degree of communication. With regard to other projects, the process has been very straight forward from the initial project discussion to the bid to project completion. The work has been completed competently and on time, and the plants, trees, etc. look great. It's clear that LL care about the customers and the work they are doing. I also appreciate the follow-up calls from the office following project completion. Over the last 2 years, I have awarded only one project to a different landscaping company, and that was based entirely on the price difference; overall, LL pricing is reasonable, and the quality work AND customer service is excellent. Indeed, the customer service at LL is exceptional, and that differentiates LL from other landscaping companies I have dealt with. If I have a question, I can generally count on a phone or email response within 1-2 days and a meeting to address my concern or the actual resolution of that concern within 1-2 weeks. (The only exception has been the extremely busy period in the spring which also coincided with very speedy growth of the company.) All LL employees that I have come in contact with, from the owner all the way down to the crew chiefs that do the actual mowing, have been professional and courteous.

They do fine. They send a sufficient number of people to do it in a matter of 30 minutes. They have at least two people doing the lawn work. They blow the leaves off of the porches and everything. They also fertilize when needed. There is nothing I don't like about them. I will continue using them.

They were wonderful. All their workers were very courteous and if they had a question, they would come and ask. They did what they said they were going to do. If there was something that they saw could be done differently, they asked me and told me what the difference in price would be and if there was going to be any. Sometimes they didn't even charge me when they felt that there was not much of a difference in the amount. It's a very good company all around. One should definitely give them a chance or get a bid from them. Their price was reasonable.

They showed up when they said and had no cost overruns. They responded professionally and always answered questions. Quite happy ... happy enough to have them continue with maintanence.

They provide an excellent service! It's obvious they strive to please. I receive many, many compliments on my yard in part due to them!

Overall it went ok. I had to call/email multiple times to get them to come out. It had rained several days in a row and they were behind on contracted mows so couldn't get out as planned. However, they did not call to say they would not be out - I had to recontact them. The mowing estimate was high ($50), but by that time I was beyond in need of getting it mowed and didn't have time to do it. They actually charged only $20 to trim the bushes and pull the vine - which I thought was reasonable considering how long it would take. They offered to reduce the mowing rate to $40 if we contracted to do it biweekly. I think this is high given the size of our yard and the lack of landscaping to mow around. They moved a small table and two chairs off the back lawn, but did not replace them when they were finished. They also knocked off all the caps off my copper tiki torches while edging and did not replace them. It subsequently rained into the torches. I haven't tried to light them to see if they are still functional. The grass looked good. The vine was removed. The bushes in the front of the house looked just ok. It was good enough for $20. It wasn't a bad experience, but I don't think it was quite worth what I paid for it. I wouldn't use them again only because of cost - not because of poor quality. They were nice on the phone and in emails. The invoice was clear and sent via email per my preference. Payment was easy through my online bank pay, but there was a charge to pay by credit card.

Arturo Dominguez (landscape superintendent) came by my home on Thursday, August 6 to view my yard and talk about my goals for landscaping. He had lots of ideas for the yard, and suggested that the bid (and potential work) be divided into a couple stages (hardscape vs planting, etc). Although I wasn't in a rush to initiate work, Arturo stated that the bid (and a simple design) could be delivered over the weekend, which sounded fantastic to me. When I hadn't received anything by the following Thursday (August 13) (4 days after promised), I contacted the Longhorn Lawns office, thinking that perhaps they had decided the job didn't interest them. Hearing that Arturo had promised to deliver the bid sooner, Julie (the office manager) seemed surprised by Arturo's actions. She assured me that he was still working on the bid, and also that Longhorn Lawns was still interested in the job. Arturo called me shortly thereafter and apologized for his tardiness (offering no explanation for the delay). He promised that the work would be completed the NEXT weekend. Unfortunately, AGAIN, no bid was delivered as promised. When I hadn't heard anything by the following Tuesday (August 18) (nearly 2 weeks after the initial meeting), I called Arturo on his cell phone. He was once again apologetic, but once again offered no explanation for why he failed to honor his latest promise. I told him that I wanted a bid that day, or to skip it. Later that day, I received a bid that was too simple to evaluate: it listed no plants, omitted entire areas of the yard that were to be landscaped, wasn't divided into stages as had been discussed, etc. I called Arturo to talk about the oversights, and also to voice a complaint about the process. Arturo blamed the bid's oversights on the fact that I rushed him (demanding that he deliver a bid that day), so I pointed out that all of my expectations about the timing of the bid were based on promises that HE made! He responded by stating that he refused to be insulted by a customer and hung up the phone (while I was in mid-sentence!). I subsequently called the Longhorn Lawns office and spoke with Heath, the owner, who was apologetic, seemed sincerely interested in the job, and also told me that an updated (and more comprehensive) bid was being completed. However, because Heath wasn't able to offer any explanation for the problems I had encountered, I communicated that I wasn't interested in moving forward with the project. Later that same day, I did receive a 2nd bid from Arturo, but it was also significantly incomplete - omitting entire areas of the yard that had been discussed for landscape, etc.

A great experience overall - Julie was prompt to answer phone calls and handle paperwork, Arturo and his crew punctual to the estimate and installation appointments. These gentlemen worked hard the entire day to dig out trenches and install the limestone edging. Also worked very cleanly - minimal debris left in driveway, soil and mulch were restored in beds. Estimate was also less than bids from two other companies!

This is a brother/sister lawn service. They are young but very eager to please and willing to give over 100% to make you happy. We have found Heath to be very knowledgeable about lawns. He has always addressed our questions and concerns very promptly. Julie keeps the office running and is very prompt about responding to our billing questions or letting us know if they have to cancel due to rain. Using Longhorn Lawns has been a very good experience for us, and we recommend them highly.
