Contacted Lockbusters on-line at 7PM on Sunday evening to request a change of lock the "next day or soon after." Heard back from Jay within 60 minutes. Lock was changed by Scott by 12 PM on Monday, less than 18 hours after requesting service. Excellent customer service experience. Great value.

The office called to say that Scott was running a little late. They had given me only an hour window, so I was not surprised that they might be a bit behind. It ended up being all of like 15 minutes, but I appreciated the call. Scott was polite, and went through all my options. He replaced a Deadbolt and a locking Door knob on my front door. He explained all that he was going to do and what it would cost beforehand. He did his work quickly and also helped tighten another lock on another door at no charge. He was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in doing a good job.

Tenants and mail carrier were having trouble with the front door lock on our townhouse - the key was sticking. Jay was very responsive, diagnosed the problem, and replaced worn out cylinder on my front door. Also worked on front gate lock to make it work with the same key. All locks work very smooth now and we didn't have to change keys, which was very convenient. The only negative was that he had to reschedule original appointment. However I felt it was worth waiting one day to have quality work done. Will use again. His dad is also a locksmith, who did some work for me - he was also great.

When I called Lockbusters I was surprised to hear a very friendly voice on the phone who was able to provide a guaranteed quote, immediately, for the service I needed. We made an appointment for Jay to visit my apartment; he was flexible on times and punctual. I felt comfortable with Jay immediately, and while working he gave me an honest assessment of how secure he thinks my apartment actually is. My lock works better than it did when I had installed in a different apartment, and as I mentioned, he fixed an existing issue with my other lock. While it's never fun to pay out of pocket for something because my landlord won't (and in my opinion should have), I never expected a visit from the locksmith to be pleasant! More importantly, my home feels more secure. I recommend him whenever anyone so much as mentions in passing building security, and I would never call a different locksmith in NYC.

They replaced the locks first, then came back and replaced the hinges. On hindsight, they should have replaced the hinges before the locks, but that was my fault since I only asked them to replace the hinges once they came to replace the locks. The price was a bit expensive, but if that was a reasonable price among other locksmiths of comparable quality, then I am fine with it. Overall, they did a great job! ... And very personable. I would use them again should the need arise.

Jay is absolutely outstanding. What more could you want from locksmith than punctuality , honesty and very reasonable prices. I would recommend him to anyone and will call him with any future problems. Highly, highly recommended.

These guys know their locks and safes. They were on time and worked quickly, cleaned up after, and were quite friendly. They threw in some freebies as well. I would recommended them.

I called Lockbusters around 5:30 and asked if it was possible for them to come by the same night to install a lock. Fortunately, they were in the neighborhood and came by around 7. They were very professional, personable and did an excellent job. They checked the detail and also made sure the place was clean. In addition, they also fixed my wonky door with no extra charge. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a professional, courteous and affordable locksmith.

I called Lockbusters, got a very quick response and appointment time. They showed up precisely on time, completed the exchange very quickly and actually charged a little less than the agreed upon price. All in all, a very excellent experience. Oh, yes, the new lock works very smoothly.

Our low-moderate income, non-profit cooperative used a single locksmith company for 17 years. In retrospect, their work was mediocre. We finally saw the light when we experienced a serious problem with our second entry door lock (door knob would not turn and allow egress from the building) during Memorial Day weekend. We contacted our long-standing locksmith who indicated that they would respond to the building at 4:00pm on Friday. They did not appear. When we contacted them to repair the lock the following Wednesday, expressing our disappointment at their disregard for our safety, they essentially told us "to do what you have to do". We did. We selected Lockbusters from Angie's List. Jay agreed to come to the building, temporarily repaired our old lock (at no cost), indicated that he would order a commercial grade lock and handle that would sustain the heavy traffic. He recommended a lock and handle that satisfied our needs rather than his bottom line. Jay was courteous, responsive and very professional. He reported back to the building on the day and time that he said he would. He did an excellent job . His respectful demeanor, prompt, efficient; and quality work has caused us to look into having Lockbusters install an alarm system for us. Good business practices lead to more business. That essentially is the work ethic that best exemplifies Lockbusters' approach to business. I recommend them highly and look forward to a mutually satisfactory, long-term business relationship. He quoted me the price of $79.00 and that was the exact price of the service. He was very quick and did a great job. He is very friendly and easy to work with.

I never had a locksmith who gave me the flat rate up front. They did not over-charge, they were prompt and friendly.

Lockbusters came to replace a lock on our apartment door. Jay showed up on time and quickly replaced the lock. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes and left no mess. He was professional, friendly and prompt. The flat rate price was listed on the website and that is exactly what we were charged.
