Jay was very responsive-got back to me soon after I called and left a message. Very prompt-showed up when he said he would. Lock was changed very quickly and I was able to pay right there. He was very pleasant, even after I gave him the wrong address! I would absolutely use Lockbusters again, and I would recommend them to others.

Jay was fantastic- I wish every repair could go as easy and as well as this.

This was the second time we used him. He did same day service and it was fairly late in the evening. His name is Jay. I found him on Angie's List. He did the repair on the same day and it was great. I have recommended him to friends that have been burgled and they did use him. I wanted him to do work on our building but he never got back with us with a proposal. I have used him three times. The work he has done has been first rate and timely.

Very well, service was performed promptly and technician took care to avoid disturbing guests in the restaurant's dining room while working.

took apart the door lock, complained about working on Saturday, tried to uncharge $250 and left without reassembling the lock. Rude, scam artist. Stay away!!!!

When we moved into our house, it had 4 separate keys for entry, and we wanted to get all the locks on one key and increase our security with better locks. Jay was very prompt in responding to our call. He asked us to send over pictures of our doors so he could see what he was working with, and we arranged a time later that day to talk through our options. He has a deep understanding of locks, doors, and physical security and will go into as much detail as you want - really, truly as much as you could possibly want if you want it - when selecting options. He is also very clear and upfront about how much things will cost. Jay told us that it might take a couple of places to find a cylinder that matched our antique bronze/black handle and that he would start looking at places when they opened tomorrow then come to our place to install them later that day. Jay was very communicative over text as he was looking for what we needed to match our finish. It took a few stores, but he was very clear about how long it would take to get to the next place and when he would make it to our house. When Jay arrived, he was professional, polite, and cheerful. He was quick to get to work on changing our locks. Everything he picked up was perfect for what we needed. Jay talked through what was happening during installation, pointed things out for maintenance, and made a neat pile of our old locks for us to keep around to put back in the house if we want to take our fancy new locks with us if we move. Our locks all work like a breeze now!

We had to give out the key to our apartment to painters while we were at work so I was concerned about my daughter being alone in the apartment later that night when others had the key to the only lock. I called Jay and he made arrangements to get there the same night to install a deadbolt on the door. He did it quickly and it looks great.

It went really well. Jay was super responsive and clear in his emails. He arrived when he promised he would. He was able to switch the color to chrome at the last minute even though I asked from bronze. A part of the original bolt connection had worn down in my door. Jay was able to find just the right part to make it fit perfectly. Jay was very quick in performing the service.

I have been using Angie's List for several years, and usually I find the ratings to be in line with my experience. This was the exception, and I am befuddled by the high rankings received by this vendor. My experience: -When you call them, you often get an answering service, and I sometimes had to call them twice to have them get back to me. -They made an error on the appointment time, and I had to reschedule. -They sent a subcontractor out to do the work. Moreover, I found this subcontractor to be of limited proficiency. He was fine for installing peepholes, but that would be it. The lock he installed was sub-standard, and it is difficult to insert the key. I asked him to look at another issue I was having with a door that was hitting against the floor, and he completely mid-diagnosed it. I didn't use him for that work. Their prices are lower, but it is a case of getting what you paid for.

Jay know his business and he was able to get the lock solidly attached to the door and had it back in working order in about 30 minutes. Pleasant and easy to work with I don't know why I would ever call anyone else.

First of all, Jay showed up ON TIME, but at the wrong address - because I had accidentally transposed our street number in my communication with him! Thank goodness we're not on 19th St (we're on 54th) and it only took him another 5 minutes to get here. It didn't bother him at all, and he was happy, extremely friendly, and polite. He went about his work efficiently, and at the same time talked with me about our setup and what he recommended for us (because of concerns I expressed, he recommended changing our ANSI Grade 2 deadbolt to a Grade 1). He also noticed the existing deadbolt plate was crooked and said he'd square it up. Details like that take someone from good to great. He was done in 10 minutes and was never pushy about his recommended changes. We're having him back to do the rest of our lock work. As a side note, someone had mentioned to us that if you have two locks, it might be safest to have two different locksmiths replace them. Just to see what would happen, I asked Jay if he had ever heard of that and what he thought. While he had never thought of that before, he completely understood (except with Mult-T-Lock because of how secure it is). He then said that if we did use someone else, to please make sure we use Angie's List to find someone reputable. Very professional answer, and made my question moot.

He arrived on time, prepared with 2 different types of locks to give us a choice. He answered all our questions in a friendly, helpful and patient manner and was professional from start to finish. Wonderful service. He installed the lock in about 15 minutes and asked for a broom to sweep it all up at the end. He did an amazing job and we are very happy with the outcome. Would refer him and use him again.

I called Jay early in the week to set up a Saturday appointment. I explained that I'd be coming in from out of town to meet him and needed a definite confirmation. Jay confirmed the appointment again the night before and even let me know when he was a few minutes away. He did the work quickly and perfectly, and charged us exactly what he had estimated. Also he looked at a loose doorknob and recommended a fix for that, which he did for free! Jay is a true gem and we will certainly use his services again when the need arises.

He put in a new lock but the cylinder was still broken, he was back within an hour to fix the cylinder. He is not inexpensive but his prices are fair and he is terrific, professional & responsive. I would highly recommend him and already have a friend last night over dinner. Sometimes you get what you pay for and hiring a locksmith is not an area I want to skimp on for quality over price nor should you!

Arrived within the time window and performed the task quickly and professionally. There were no hidden fees. He was friendly too!

I called the main number and they said Jay would call me back. He did, he called right away and let me know he would be here in 30 minutes. He arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He unlocked my storage closet in no time and rekeyed it for me. I was very glad to have everything done quickly because I was leaving town later that evening and really needed that closet opened and rekeyed. I am saving Jay's number for future needs, hopefully there won't be any, but if there are I will be calling him again.

I want to express my gratitude to Scott for his responsiveness, courteousness, professionalism, and honesty. Scott accepted my service request to replace a door cylinder last Wednesday . I canceled the appointment at the last minute however in favor of my building super's unsolicited service offer. To my surprise, Scott graciously accepted my apology. However, the service was not completed satisfactorily. When unlocked, the thumb turn sat rotated 45' clockwise relative to how it had sat before. I could no longer tell visibly from the thumb turn whether the lock was turned on or not. To my annoyance, the super refused to fix it and put the problem on me. I was resigned to the idea of re-hiring a locksmith to finish the work. I consulted Scott and he offered help with live text-messaging. He honestly told me it was actually an easy fix. As it turned out, I fixed the problem myself in no time and saved myself a lot of money. Thanks again.

Punctual, professional, fast, good quality work. Jay helped me decide the best option for the best price. I was able to text him pics of my current lock & he was upfront about the cost after seeing pics. He gave me a small price range & the final cost was in the middle. Other locksmiths quoted a range between $150-$800 - even after seeing my door in person. Thanks, Jay.

He asked to come the next morning at 9, arriving between 9 and 10 am. He never showed or gave me a phone call back. I expect this behavior from your average Joe, hence the "C."
