Description of Work: My door would not open from the inside or outside. I called Lockbusters and Jay said he would be here about 2:30 to 3 pm. He phoned to say he would be delayed but came soon after. He removed the whole lock from the door and saw a broken piece inside. He thought the lock looked as if it was original to the building (about 80 years) and said he would have to take the whole thing to a place that specialized in old locks and would probably have pieces that would fit or that they could make with their equipment. He said he would be back the next day about the same time (fortunately, I have a back door so was not stuck in my apartment) and, sure enough, was announced by the doorman about 2:30 the following day. He showed me the repaired lock and installed it in no time.He thought my knob needed to be tightened so he took care of that, too. I asked him how much the repair would cost and he said it came in at the lower end of his quote. When does that ever happen? He was a pleasure to have in my house. Very polite, sure, but extremely personable and interesting to talk with, plus very fast and efficient. Great combination! Next, my daughter's apartment to take care of a sticky lock! Definitely someone I'll call if I have a problem, and will certainly recommend him to all my friends. Five stars don't even do him justice!!

Description of Work: Replaced a door knob and dead bolt, and a garage door lock.

Description of Work: Prompt email response for estimate, was told $125-200 depending on inspection of work needed. Showed up on time some retro fitting needed , total was still on the low end @125 Jay was a professional , and I would definitely call him again if the need arises.

Description of Work: Our front door lock malfunctioned, causing it to jam, so that door would not open. I noted Lockbusters ad in the latest Angie's List magazine, and called. They were extremely polite and responsive. Though I called on a weekend, they would have responded had it been an emergency. They agreed to come first thing on Monday, which they did, diagnosed the problem(broken part), and returned the following day to repair the door. Service person was extremely polite and professional, and the price was right. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: I decided to use this locksmith because of the reviews on Angie's list. I'm glad I used them. Jay was punctual, friendly, and honest. His honesty came in when Jay completed the work and charged me the agreed upon price. I paid Jay and he then asked how did I hear about him. I told him Angie's list. He then told me I get 10% off and gave me $10 back.

Description of Work: Jay made an appointment the same day I called to replace the front door lock to my apartment building. The lock had to be completely rebuilt & a part was needed that came with in 15 minutes of making a phone call for it. These guys were unbelieveable & should charge more !!!

Description of Work: Lockbusters replaced an old door knob and lock and the locksmith also walked through our newly purchased home and gave me some reasonable recommendations on how to improve security for the home overall. Reasonably on time and exactly on time.
