Kirby Painting

The person who came was punctual and quoted me the best price. We were looking at other options and I left a message with them to call me back if they had an opening available to do a certain job and I never got a call back. So we just went with someone else who was much more responsive.

It went very well the crew was great, they were sweet, smart and friendly. Winston the owner runs a very tight ship. If there is a problem such as something goes wrong Ie. something is broken etc. They get out ahead by telling you they did something and taking care of it. They were punctual, a little pricey but worth EVERY PENNEY. They were very careful and very professional. When I accidentley gave the wrong paint color and my house was bright blue outside, Winston picked me up and we went to get new paint and he charged only the cost of the paint and $450.00 to repaint the outside of the house. He was great, we had caused our own color disaster and he took it in stride and fixed it immediatly!! He was gracious and pleasant. Before it was over we had another color disaster on the inside (do not choose colors on the Behr website, check them in person first before you select), and again the guys showed me and waited while I went and got new paint. I have nothing but good things to say about Kirby painting, and the crew they have.

We had a very pleasant experience from the first call through completion of the work. The painting team even gave me some tips for completing the painting on the rest of the house which I'm supposed to be doing myself and left a tool for me that they said would be very helpful. The paint looks great, and I'm considering asking them back to do my work for me.

Kirby painting provided excellent service, showed up when they said they would, stuck very closely to the estimate and were very professional. Mr. Kirby and his crew did a very nice job and left a very clean work area upon completion. I was quite pleased overall and would definitely recommend them (and in fact, I have!).

I can only echo the accolades and praises that have already been said about Winston Kirby and his great crew. They were professional, punctual, attentive to detail and always cleaned up after themselves almost immediately after finishing one section of work or the other. Winston was extremely willing to go the extra mile to accommodate any extra touch ups that I found but that he had not bid on. He was extremely fair and wanted to be sure that everything was done to my satisfaction as was his crew. Part of the bid was to paint my bathroom cabinets that had previously been sprayed and were extremely smooth; Winston told me that the cabinets would be brush painted but look like they were sprayed....AND HE WAS RIGHT! The cabinets are just as smooth looking as if they had been sprayed...no drips, no brush marks! His crew did an excellent job and Winson reviewed all the work and made sure that it met his high standards also. They were all very nice people with a excellent work ethic and I enjoyed their presence in my home. I would highly recommend Kirby Painting!

Winston and Regina were very responsive and returned all of my calls promptly. He even met my husband and me at our office to go over the paint colors for the cabinets. We had concerns about the grain of the cabinets showing through the paint, but the crew did a phenomenal job. We really can't believe how great the cabinets look. Truly, all of the work was very well done. He and his crew were always on time, worked hard, and very friendly. Also, they were wonderful at cleaning up at the end of the day - not just the end of the job. We had brand new flooring in for the trim painting, and they were extra careful as they painted. We've already recommended him to several of our friends and family.

Mr. Kirby and his professional crew of young men were the best that we have every encountered. They were punctual and worked diligently each day. The original time frame of the job was met. At the end of each day of work, their clean up efforts were commendable. Everyhing was left tidy and ready to go for the next day. Mr. Kirby and his entire crew were congenial and were only interested in providing the best job possible! We have owned numerous properties and been involved in the real estate business for many years. We would highly recommend this company again and again. An overall outstanding experience!

It went very well and like clockwork. The owner also offered a few ideas on certain colors/type paint which i found very helpful. He was very punctual and the painters worked hard, were very pleasant, and did a very nice job. This company had painted the exterior of my house a few years ago and i was very happy with that work as well. Highly recommended.

Winston and his crew were excellent. Winston explained the process, made suggestions, even saved us from spending $1500 to replace a front door that he was able to refinish. The project went very smoothly. His crew was timely, professional and careful. I referred several friends to Winston, and my neighbors house is going to be painted by Kirby Painting next week.

Communication with Mr. Kirby and his office was always prompt and the crew was on time. Mr. Kirby was often on-site checking on the progress of the job. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Kirby Painting again and have recommended the company to others.

We had used Kirby painting previously (about a year ago) for staining and interior painting. Winston came by promptly when called and produced an estimate for the work from shop drawings. Painting had to be done in coordination with the cabinetmaker and was done as quickly as possible as the work was delivered so that the installation was never delayed due to painting and staining work. He brought by sample of stain and showed me what they would look like on the oak that was used for the cabinets and accurately let me know what to expect from the stain when it was dry and varnished. Winston stained all the cabinets himself and had a crew help with the sanding and varnishing. He is an artist with stain and the bookcases are beautiful. Winston suggested to my wife that the paint color she had chosen would be too bright, but it could be toned down by adding a little black. She is very pleased with the resulting color and agrees that her original choice would have been too bright. His 2-man painting crew did a very thorough job of caulking all the cracks, priming the wood and applying the final paint coat. I did not find a single run or drip on any of the approximately 50 shelves or 10 cabinet doors, or on the cabinets themselves. When we went over the work to look for problems, we did not find a single area that needed to be redone. The wall units had been installed prior to painting and they did a perfect job of keeping the paint off our new carpet. We are delighted with the results.

I received a call from the company the following day after placing a request for an estimate thru Angie's list. They came out the first opportunity that fit my schedule. They told me they could fit me in beginning anytime tomorrow but in 2-3 days would work best. They came out on a Saturday and finished the job which worked out perfectly. I think overall it took 5 days from contacting the company to them coming out to finish the job. I used them because their price was the lowest but more importantly the reviews they received on this site made me feel more comfortable that the finish product would be what I expected.

After providing the proposal in a timely manner, Winston picked up and delivered all paint and supplies as specified. This difficult project was completed in three and a half days by three painters who worked simultaneously and diligently each day. Newly textured areas were primed and given two coats of paint. All of the painters were extremely courteous, task oriented, businesslike, and respective of unaffected areas. They placed drop cloths everywhere, removed and reinstalled doors, and covered cabinetry with plastic, etc. At the end of each day they cleaned up, vacuumed affected areas, and made the house livable. At each stage they asked for our evaluation and gladly took our picky suggestions. We were very pleased with the work completed and would gladly reemploy Kirby Painting for our next painting, refinishing, or restoration project.

This company is wonderful. I have an old home from the 20's and I assumed it would cost much more to paint the exterior which has waterfall siding. They power washed, scraped, sanded, caulked, and painted. they stained my porch and side deck and threw in the iron fence around my porch for free. they also painted 20 detailed window screens front and back. And my separate garage. Winston showed up when he said he would with his very kind and professional crew and they went to work and did an incredible job. Let me say that I am a customer with high expectations. And Winston and his crew more than met my expectations. My house looks gorgeous! They did the work thoroughly and in a very timely fashion. They even worked on Sunday! At the close of the job, they walked around the house with me and asked if there was anything else that needed touching up. They were incredibly efficient and more than that, very kind. I will ABSOLUTELY be calling them again when i have future projects. You get way more than your money's worth from these professionals. They take pride in their work and it shows. They are also good people. Look no further!

I've gotten an estimate from Mr. Kirby for some paint work on my house. When it came to answering questions about my estimate I was given a limited amount of time to go over the contract with him. It seemed like he was in a rush to another job and didn't want to spend the time to go over the details of the contract with me. The estimate was reasonable but his professionalism when it came to answering questions it "I know better" and "I have better things to do like going to the next job".

Winston came out to do the estimate. He was very professional - and very likeable. I trusted him right off. When the estimate for the work came in, it had only a total price tag for the stairs and door work. And it said "all materials, labor and warranty included". That was it. There was no detail. Since Angie's list responses were all about painting, (not wooodworking and staining) I had told him that I wanted a reference where I could go and look at a refinished door (he said he had done these before), he gave me one - but the directions weren't right (it was in an apt complex the gate code wasn't right, and the apartment wasn't where it was said to be). I followed up with a note letting him know that I was unable to find the apartment, if he could provide another I would go there. I also asked him for a little detail in his estimate - what were the warranty terms, and what materials would he be using - and would he actually build up the corners where they were chewed on the stairs, rather than just sanding them down (I don't think this would have looked nice, and that had been his plan when we talked). His response to me was that he was going to pass on the work. That he felt I could potentially be a customer that wouldn't trust him (after all he has all the Angie's list positive reports - why would I need a reference I could look at?) and he didn't want to put his team through working potentially with a customer that couldn't be satisfied. I understand not wanting to work with some customers. But this response was way over the top, based on a few simple follow up questions from his estimate. The other estimates I have received do have detail - it was not out of line to ask for a little detail and a reference. I was very disappointed.

Workers came at appointed time. Work went smoothly with no problems.

Mr. Kirby and his great crew were not only punctual but early! They were helpful and made several valuable suggestions that saved me from color choice mistakes. The crew was fast, neat, helpful, polite and they went out their way to do extras that they didn't have to do. I was so pleased with them that I will recommend Kirby Painting to all my friends and use them again without hesitation. I also think that their prices were fair.

He had a great painting crew and the house looks fabulous. We used deep colors which were hard to cover. He came back in with additional coats until we both were satisfied with the look. His pricing is middle of the road as well. He was very good and I have him lined up for more work. They were punctual, professional, and courteous. I would recommend him to anyone.

Mr. Kirby and his crew were very nice and did a really good job. Mr. Kirby also gave us ideas on how to fix things that we had questions about. We have crows feet walls and the people before us had patched some holes in the wall and just left them flat and Winston fixed them to make them look like our walls. VERY NICE TO WORK WITH.....would use again.

Wonderfully. As usual. Winston is awesome, his crew is great, they work hard and get it done well. Winston is the best value in town, in my opinion. His prices are reasonable and he delivers an excellent product. He's our guy!!

Winston Kirby responded promptly to my request for an estimate. He and his team arrived exactly when he said they would and finished when he said they would. They were all friendly and professional, and did a beautiful job. I plan on hiring them again in the future.

Interviewed a number of Grade A painters and was impressed with Winston Kirby's demeanor and knowledge. Price was higher than a couple of other companies but we felt that he was the person to paint our home. Started a day early for us and finished entire job in about two and one-half days. He inspected the job done by his employees with me and I found the work to be virtually flawless. Extremely satisfied with his work and will use him again.

I am quite happy with Kirby Painting's work. They were punctual and professional. They started the project on the scheduled date and finished it earlier than expected. I got several bids for the project and chose Kirby Painting because they seemed most familiar with the type of house (built in the 1950's with wood siding) and all aspects of the project. I feel like they did a through job.

I could not have asked for better service, attitude and professionalism than I received from Mr. Kirby and his crew. Not only do they provide top notch work, they are great people. Mr. Kirby even called to make sure I didn't pay him too much! Now that's integrity. In this day and age, it's great to know there are people who love what they do, enjoy working with their customers and provide outstanding service. Mr. Kirby will be my painter as long as I live in Austin and he should be yours too.
