Description of Work: I feel very fortunate that Winston Kirby did an excellent job of improving the work of his workers. Winston is good, but his workers need improvement. The primary painter of my house could not speak english, was a poor caulker and was focused on how fast he could get finished. Another worker wanted to argue to get out of doing touch up work. Winston was great, but his workers were in need of re-orientation and guidance. | |

Description of Work: I have used him 3 times. He pained the interior of my house. He painted an exterior fence. He also painted a second house of mine. He has been outstanding.

Description of Work: When you meet Kirby, you believe this guy is a man of his word. It is so not the case! Kriby Sr. is very unprofessional! We used his Co. because so many people said he was so great on Angies List. It was not our experience at all. We did not have time to micro manage him because we were in the process of moving. I go into rooms that are a constant reminder how bad of job they did. They had a punch list that was never finished. It is so bad for example, glossy paint to go and patch up an entire room that was flat paint. Our first experience with Angies List was not a good one. We have used several people off the list and had great experiences.

Description of Work: IMr. Kirby came out and provided a bid within two days of my call. His bid was similar or slightly less than other bids I received. I chose Kirby Painting based mostly on Angie's member comments, but also because Mr. Kirby impressed me with his professional knowledge. I had a "gut" feeling that Mr. Kirby was our man. We built our home in 1995. The home "settled" shortly after we moved in. The original sheetrock work was shoddy. This, in addition to the home's "settling", contributed to the opening and buckling of several tape-joints in the living room ceiling which has an open (two-story) cathedral style. The builder would never return to make it right. After 15 years of doing nothing (ha!), we contracted with Kirby Painting to repair all sheetrock cracks, tape-joints, and paint the majority of our home's interior (entry, living, dining, kitchen, stairways, open upper/lower hallways, and ceilings). The work included four tape-joints (10ft-spans/each) meeting at an 18ft ceiling point. Additional work included tape-joint buckles at several ledges and room corners; minor cracks; painting interior walls; front-face of kitchen cabinets; and all trim in these areas. Mr. Kirby's crew did an exceptional job. They are artists in the field of sheetrock repair. Their painting is meticulous. They work hard all day, clean up in the evening, and are punctual in the morning. They finished this job in four days. I would particularly like to commend Juan, who supervised the crew. He worked diligently along with the other men, helped me select slight variations of color, and was responsive to our needs. All men were professional, polite, and a delight to have in our home. I would not hesitate to hire Kirby Painting again. I've been a Realtor for almost 30 years. I know a lot of painters, both good and bad. I recommend Kirby Paint without reservation. Thank You, Winston Kirby, Juan, Rick, Martin, and Pedro. I will be calling you again to paint the rest of our home! I will also recommend you to all of my real estate clients who need any sheetrock repairs or painting!

Description of Work: Painted and primed kitchen ceiling and walls, bathroom ceiling sealed water damage and painted, painted bedroom ceiling and walls and French doors. Don't like the flat paint on French doors but otherwise it was fine.

Description of Work: Winston repaired and painted the exterior of our house. Fascia board and siding were rotting and had to be replaced, as did some trim.

Description of Work: Winston prepped and painted our living room, kitchen, dining room, hall, bathroom, master bedroom and master bath including the base boards in each room. They also painted the back door and touched up the ceiling.

Description of Work: Winston painted our porch ceiling, columns, front door (in and out), the trim, garage doors, all the new siding on the front of our house (including the whole second story), and all the siding on the eaves-four colors in all.

Description of Work: Mr. Kirby painted the ceiling, walls and trim of a large master bedroom in my home. The ceiling looked 100% better when he finished, as he repaired and filled in the dark spots. He also took the time to repair and paint over a wood beam that had gotten paint on it by the previous painter.
