I noticed that my washing machine was leaking in the tub area which dispenses the water. I left a message for James and he called me back first thing Monday morning. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, got the part that was needed and came out the next week to make the repairs. I found him to be reliable, honest, and reasonable in price. I would recommend James for major appliance repair.

Mr. Beardsley wouldn't take payment until he had been out the third day after the repair in order to check that everything was still working, which it was. He was extremely professional, showed up when he said he would, and did a great job.

James picked up the phone on my first call, listed to my questions carefully and suggested a course of action that didn't include a service call. Sure enough, I found a bad connection (a ribbon cable coming out of the connector to the circuit board on my modern hunk of junk dishwasher) and easily fixed it. Thanks James! Mr Beardsley was able to come to my house on the day I called and at the arranged time. He diagnosed the problem and informed me he would have to make a return call (with no additional service charge), yet he wanted to price the cost of the hose to determine if the repair was worth the expenditure as my machine is 8-9 years old. He contacted me the next day, advised that the cost was low and recommended we proceed with the repair. We scheduled an appointment for the repair for that day, he came at the time we established and repaired the machine. Good man, appears very honest and has a number of year so experience and expertise as he advised me on replacement for my machine in the future. Would definitely use him again.

I called and was able to schedule an appointment within a couple of days when convenient for me to be home. James arrived on schedule and went straight to work. Found that the water line had frozen up and nothing was actually broken so no parts to use. He cleared the line and it works just fine. I asked him if he would look under the refrigerator since I had lost a ring and thought the new cat may have hockey-pucked it under. He had a device with a light on a long stalk that he put under the refrigerator, and then the stove, and checked to see if anything was there. That was an extra thing he didn't have to do and I really appreciated it.

After troubleshooting dryer not heating during drying cycle based on owners manual and internet search, with no luck, I called James Beardsley and explained the situation and he had another suggestion on circuits to test before he came out. I was still not able to find the problem and made an appointment. Mr. Beardsley arrived at the appointed time and after checking several items determined the problem and had the needed part in his truck and made the repair in short order. The repair price was very reasonable and I was very satisfied with the experience. While here, I asked about a problem I had with the refrigerator and he suggested actions I might take to do the repair myself, I will certainly call on Mr. Beardsley again if I have an appliance that needs repair.

I needed someone to check my tenants dishwasher and he called her and helped her troubleshoot over the phone - for free. Dishwasher is fixed, and tenant is happy.

I had my tenant call James Beardsley, whom I found on Angie's list. Here's what he said about the service. The dishwasher is fixed and it turned out to be a pretty easy, quick thing. I called the first guy on your list and he was nearby and had a cancellation so he came right over. The dishwasher was fine but there was a valve into the disposal that had gotten jammed. His standard charge for a service call is $75 just to analyze the problem, but he didn't charge any additional amount to fix it. The guy was great. When I told him the brand of the dishwasher he asked a lot of good questions about it, showing he understand the brand and typical problems they've had with various models over the year. Then when he came out he was friendly, helpful, and quick. I see why he has a good rating on Angie's list.

Excellent. . .would highly recommend him. He could have charged me for a service call. Instead, he was very honest about what I should do before asking him to come out. I also particularly like that he is the only one who does the work. . .he doesn't farm it out like many people do.

He is amazing! No wonder he has so many good reviews. I told him it would be easier for me to communicate via email because I go back and forth between my home and my son’s home – he was very accommodating. I have found him to be very honest and trustworthy.

James was extremely responsive, prompt and professional. He was able to come the next day and worked with me on the timing of the service visit (other companies had required a long, set window that we couldn't manage that week). He showed me the problem, explained why it could not be repaired, and even provided recommendations for new washer models. He also advised me on my dryer and maintenance tips to reduce the need for future service calls.

The original appointment was two days out, but James found a gap in his schedule and was able to squeeze us in a day earlier. Our machine had been randomly leaking small amounts over the last few months, and then it suddenly stopped draining. James quickly diagnosed the problem and recommended we replace the pump instead of repairing it since the seals were suspect. He was done in less than 30 minutes and a laundry emergency was successfully averted.

From the initial phone call to the completion of the repair, James acted in a friendly, professional manner. During the phone call, James asked relevant questions to diagnose that the problem was. He arrived in a timely manner the next day and began his services immediately, explaining what he was doing. He expertly fixed the problem in a clean and conscientious manner. Mr Beardsley came to check out my dryer that had stopped heating. I thought it was the part thar controls heating, however, yurns out it was lint build up in chimney shaft from previous tenant. Mr Beardsley told me i needed a chimney sweep. He was fast, professional, courteous anud kind. Would definitely use his service again. Was very aware he coyld well have charged me a small fortune for parts i did not need. This inspired trust.

Mr. Beardsley basically came to pronounce our dishwasher dead. But he tried to save us the service call by giving us tips about what to try before he came. He also gave us a tip about how to make our new one last longer.

James has done an outstanding job for us both times that we called him. Late last year,, he repaired our gas dryer, replacing a part. Then last Friday, the dryer went out again. I called him late in the day, and he was here before noon on Monday. He replaced the part again, and said he would not charge us for his time and labor, and would try to get the part replaced through warranty. So he charged us nothing today and will bill us for the part if the warranty does not apply. He is professional, fast, and extremely pleasant to deal with. We very highly recommend him for any work you need done.

Wish all repair technicians would do such a great job. I phoned James Beardsley about our ice maker which stopped making ice. James answered personally. He asked questions about the ice maker's performance and sensed he had a idea what was wrong. I let Jim know there was no hurry, coming out a couple days later would be fine. But he called back a couple hours later and said he had time to come right over. He examined and used an instrument to test the ice maker and said its internal rotor mechanism (I don't know the correct mechanical term) needed to be replaced. The best thing was that he had a replacement part with him (arriving with proper tools and possible replacement parts is a major reason why technicians should ask questions, as James did, before coming over). He replaced that part, and the ice maker has been working perfectly for several days now. James also answered questions about a couple of our other aging appliances. It was appreciated that he did not try to sell any other products or services or be alarmist about any of our other appliances, some of which we know are reaching the end of their life cycle. The charge was $150 for the replacement part and $75 for the service call plus tax. His entire visit including answering our questions and charging my credit card took less than half an hour.

I heard chirping coming from my washing machine, and the latch on my 15-year old dishwasher wasn't always connecting. I called James and he came out the same afternoon. After about 45 minutes, he said he couldn't get the part for my dishwasher and that it was rusting out on the bottom. He also said the transmission was going on my washing machine and just to use it until it quit. He didn't charge me for his time, although I offered several times to pay him. He knew my husband had died a couple of months ago and thought I had enough on my mind. What a gentleman! That speaks more to me than anything. I will certainly call him when I replace these items.

I called James about my 2 1/2 year old front loading washer. Over the phone he told me the repair is more than the cost of a new washer. He recommended I contact the manufacturer, which I had not thought to do on such a new washer. He even recommended I have a good block of time and a fully charged phone. The manufacturer authorized a local repair person to repair my machine at their cost. If I have another appliance need, I will definitely call James first.
