Mr. Beardsley was very cordial, helpful, and knowledgable. He arrived at the agreed time, and he diagnosed the problem within just a few minutes. He had the necessary part on his truck, and the repair was completed promptly and properly. Overall it was a great experience.

James Beardsley is the only person I use for refrigerator and freezer repair. The most recent service call was on our freezer which was building up ice in the door. He diagnosed the problem and adjusted the door. He only charged for the service call, $65.00. Previously he worked on our built-in Kitchenaid refrigerator and went way out of his way to find parts and get it up and running right again. He is excellent. Very responsive, punctual, professional. Everything you want in a professional relationship

After seeing James' reviews on Angie's List, I called him when the agitator on my washing machine stopped working properly. He quickly returned my call and diagnosed the problem over the phone. He came the next day to repair the washer. That morning, he called with an estimated ETA and called again when he was on his way. He was very prompt and professional. He quickly replaced the worn part and gave me good advice on running the washer (I've been using too much detergent...we don't need as much as the detergent boxes say we do). His charge was reasonable. Overall, I was very pleased with his professionalism and service. I will call James again the next time I need any appliance repairs and recommend his service.

He wasn?t able to fix the problem the first time and had to come back. He found out it was a computer issue and gave great advice that helped me save money. He told me that it would cost more to repair it than to purchase a new one.

James returned my call promptly, and arranged to meet me at my house the following morning. He diagnosed the washing machine for about 10 minutes, and determined that the transmission was failing. Since the machine is 8 years old, he advised to just buy a new one. He admitted that it would be better for him if I would fix the old machine, but not the smart thing to do. I appreciated his honesty and would definitely use him again.

He was fine. He was not able to fix the problem but he recognized the problem. He was very helpful. He was not able to order the part because of the holiday, and we had to buy a new over. He was good though. I would rate him high as he evaluated the work though he could not do the work. He was very helpful. I would call him again if I need a repair on an appliance. He was knowledgeable. When I called him he was in a training to keep up with new products and I thought I had interrupted him. He was articulate. He called me back when he was going to. He did everything he said he was going to. It just turned out that he could not fix it.

When he arrived, he was mildly insulting to me as a woman and my knowledge of appliances, and then charged me $55 to tell me I needed to buy a new fridge. He then proceeded to waste 15 minutes of my time trying to get me to go buy a new fridge at one of his relative's appliance shops, even going so far as to call them in my presence to tell them I was on my way and to "take care of the young woman." Overall, this was a waste of my time, money, insulting, and overall I felt like he was attempting to "pull a fast one" on me.

He showed up on time, and was thorough in his assessment of the problem. He is courteous and respectful, and I am sending him out to my mothers to look at her microwave that is not performing correctly!

Mr. Beardsley called ahead and arrived on time (a big plus in my book). He gave me expert advice on the washing machine, listing all the reasons why I should replace it rather than repair it, and even recommended which brand and style to buy and where I might get the best deal. I took his advice and have been very happy with the new washer. For the dishwasher he recommended I try using a very inexpensive cleaning product on the unit before thinking about replacing the circuit board/drying element which would have been quite costly. His suggestion worked perfectly and saved me a ton of money. Mr. Beardsley was friendly, generous, professional and so very helpful. If you're lucky enough to use his services my opinion is that you will never regret it. I wish all home repair people were this experienced, knowledgeable and honest. (Note that the $80 I listed above is just a rough guess since I don't have the bill handy and can't remember exactly what he charged me. I do know that it was quite reasonable, especially considering how much $$$ he saved me).

James Beardsley returned my call promptly, asked me to describe the problem. He then told me that I probably didn't need him, that I could try Dishwasher Magic (available at Walmart) to remove deposits and build-up from my dishwasher. That did the trick! I always appreciate and trust a repair person who tells me that I can solve the problem inexpensively, even if it means that the company doesn't get the business right then. I remember that kind of customer service, and will call that company the next time something is broken, and will refer others to them.

I read about James Beardsley Applance Service on Angies List when my dishwasher was running really loud. I could tell by the reviews this was the place to call. I called and let him know what my issue was, and he told me that before he came out to see the issue (and to charge a service fee) he provided me with a few things to try on my own. His suggestions worked and I didn't need his service....this time. But in the future there is no question when I can't fix the problem on my own, this is the first place I'm going to call!

I've used James multiple times, dishwasher, oven clock and stovetop. He is my first call when I have an appliance problem.

Excellent. He was able to come over within a day of my call. He made sure I provided him with the serial number from our oven so that he could make sure he had the part on hand. He was also very straightforward with me, saying that if the repair had been anything more extensive than a simple replacement of the bake element, he would have recommended that we consider replacing the oven instead of fixing it, since it is so old and is hard to get parts for now. He is a very friendly, personable person also.

After a previous very good experience with Mr. Beardsley, I immediately thought of him when our dryer stopped. I placed a call to him on a Sunday evening, leaving a message. Then about half an hour after making the call, we were able to start the dryer again. He called me back first thing Monday morning to set up a service visit, but I told him that we would not need it after all. He said, "That's good to hear. I was going to suggest to you that usually when a dryer stops in the middle of cycle, it's overheated and needs time to cool down, so I was going to ask you to try it again before I came over." I appreciate Mr. Beardsley's willingness to give advice that could help avoid the cost of a service call, even though that may not be in his own best financial interest.

James Beardsley is extremely professional and truly does have the customers satisfaction as his first priority. We had Mr. Beardsley come out to fix our dryer about a year ago. It randomly had a large piece of foam stuck in the vent. Easy fix. He identified the problem, got it taken care of and didn't try to over charge us. Nothing extraordinary on that call. About two months ago, our 3 year old dishwasher stopped working. We called Mr. Beardsley (without mentioning he had come out before) and told him what was happening. He immediately gave us several ideas on diagnosing the problem, dealing with the company and finding out the cost and manner of obtaining parts. He traded several phone calls with us because, as he said, he wanted to avoid charging us for a home visit if we could find a solution over the phone first. It turned out it was an expensive defective control panel that would have cost almost as much as a new dishwasher. He never charged us a penny and helped us realize that a new dishwasher was probably the best way to go. I have met few people in home repair that will actually spend time trying to avoid coming to your home and charging you. Maybe he was just really busy, maybe just a very honest professional. I think it was the latter, but, either way, customer wins! Thank you Mr. Beardsley. By the way, the junk dishwasher was a Maytag and the expensive fix was extremely common in those models. We are now happy Whirlpool Gold owners.

My fridge was leaking water from the bottom front - I called James Beardsley and he came quickly, immediately diagnosed the problem (frozen drain tube for the defrost function) and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. I also had him check the dishwasher because it wasn't cleaning as well as it used to and he told me the pump was slowly going out - rather than have me spend a lot of $$ for repairs he stated that, unfortunately, replacement would be more cost-effective than repair. I really appreciated the fact that he was honest about this. Some contractors would have repaired the problem at a high cost to me just for the added revenue for themselves. James was prompt, courteous, knowledgable, and professional. I will definitely use him again myself when needed and will recommend him to others.

The service was prompt and excellent. They were punctual and reasonable, and did not charge for the repair of the vaccuum cleaner.

Gas oven stopped working. Called Mr. Beardsley on a weekend, left message. He called back Monday, got scheduled with us promptly to diagnose. Igniter was blown. Type was not common, so could not repair same day. Got part in next day, scheduled for repair day after. All good. Mr. Beardsley is very gracious, relaxed, responsive, and expert and generous with information. We like him a lot and will use him next time an appliance

James was very helpful from the initial phone call. He came out to fix a valve in my washer and also fixed the legs so the machine was level. The machine has been unlevel for years because the legs were not installed properly. He was efficent, competant,and a happy nice person. He was prompt and was able to come out the next day.
