Hardwood Flooring Services did an outstanding job from start to finish. Andrea was extremely helpful in assisting us with selecting the type of flooring that was appropriate for our situation, and in explaining in great detail all the options. We obtained bids from three other contractors for this job and we felt much more comfortable with HFS than with any of the others, primarily because of Andrea's expertise. Plus, the price quoted by HFS was very competitive, so it was an easy choice to go with them. Bob and the crew showed up at the exact date and time that we were expecting them, and completed the job in 3 days, just as they had promised. Each day, Bob came by at the beginning and the end of the day to answer questions and concerns and to make sure everything was going according to our expectations. The workers were very professional. The crew was headed by Vicente, who politely answered a few questions we had as the work was progressing. He also did an amazing job on the stairway, carefully measuring and cutting each piece so that everything fit perfectly. There were numerous transitions (with marble tile, ceramic tile, and a brick fireplace) that were all done beautifully. The crew thoroughly cleaned the floor and their work areas after the job was completed, and clearly took pride in their work. All our expectations were met and exceeded, and we love our new floor. We would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend Hardwood Flooring Services to others, and have in fact already done so.

This company went well beyond our expectations! They had to order the wood for our floors, they began the project on the day they were scheduled to begin. Hardwood Flooring Services showed up EXACTLY when they said they were going to. They told us it would take 3 days to do the entire project. I told my husband, "yeah, sure.. it will probably take them longer." I was wrong. They completed everything to perfection!! My husband was even trying to make conversation with one of the gentleman and he politely told him that he "had to get back to work." They were so professional and made a project that for some could be a nightmare into an absolute dream! Not only did they do a great job, but of the 4 quotes we obtained, they were the most reasonable. You just can't beat it!

I had visited several Hardwood stores in Austin, but just could not find what I wanted. Discouraged about my unsuccessful shopping, I discovered Hardwood Flooring and decided to give it a last try. Andrea, with her contagious, cheerful and encouraging attitude gave me an immediate lift in spirit and after looking at several options,I finally found my wood sample. Bob came to the house in order to measure all rooms and to count the steps. I appreciated his efficient, knowledgeable and polite characteristics. Andrea organized the wood installation dates as well as sanding and staining dates for the kitchen. Throughout the work process she was in continuing contact with me, to ensure that I was happy and satisfied with everything that went on. Ruben and his crew were reliable and courteous and their work performance perfect. The wood on our rounded staircase was installed absolutely flawless, just like living room, study and upstairs family room. The kitchen floor, which was sanded and stained to match, was also done very nice. I have received an extreme good service and am very happy with the end result. The very high quality of work and professionalism that comes along with this company makes it a "best pick" for every customer.

Very professional service from all staff members. They helped us pick out the right flooring at the right price. The install was done quickly with attention to detail. We had shopped at a popular low cost flooring store but decided on this company because the price was competitive and it was so much easier working with one company that does it all. They are the best!

Bob is very knowledgeable about hardwood floors. He immediately identified the species of wood we already had. We only needed a section of the flooring done and had to match the remaining portion of our floors. From there, it was pretty easy. We had a problem with the work on one of the steps. Bob and his crew returned to redo that section and now it looks great. They are a quality operation and worth the little extra cost. You do get what you pay for. Would definitely use them again.

I can only hope the following review adequately expresses how much I truly appreciated working with Hardwood Flooring Services. I had been to so many, so many flooring stores. I had met every kind of sales person possible, I had heard every possible contradicting explanation possible to my questions (and I had a lot of questions) and I was exhausted with my search for 1) the type of flooring I wanted and 2) the person I wanted installing our floors. By the time I got to Hardwood Flooring Services on my list of flooring places to contact / visit I was 1) ready to throw the towel in and forgo wood floors altogether, and 2) was very hesitant to trust a flooring person ? can?t always tell if what they are telling you is true or not. Well, then I had the pleasure of speaking with Andrea. The woman is a fast talking flooring genius. :) The girl knows her stuff. I contacted her via phone first. I was absolutely blown away at how precise she was with her answers and was especially intrigued about her by the questions she asked me in return. I was intellectually curious and had to learn more about flooring from her as well as go into the showroom to see the products she was selling. After spending more time with Andrea I learned that Hardwood Flooring Services is a family owned and operated business. For Real! The father, Bob, and son-in-law, Reuben, install and oversee every installation. Every! Talk about hands-on. I also learned a lot more about the different flooring companies, she validated my concerns about the different types of wood, and the list goes on. She really took her time to make sure I walked out with more knowledge than I had walked in with and I thought I had taught myself a lot before going in! Even though I wasn?t sure if I wanted them to do the floors she still spoke to me and treated me like I was her customer. As if I had already dropped off my deposit for installation. We set up an appointment for Bob to come out and do a measure as well as bring some wood samples for us took look at. Bob supplied us with more information about the installation and different types of wood and how they would wear on the floor. Bob was very patient, polite and not pushy at all! After a very short amount of deliberation we decided to go with Hardwood Flooring Services for our floors and we do not regret our decision at all. It took us a while to figure out which floors we wanted, that?s when Andrea really came through for us. We gave her our budget (which the final amount was LESS than what we had budgeted for!) and she showed us so many things that would fall within our budget. If we showed interest in anything she would run up a price sheet so we could see numbers and keep track of all the options. I finally asked if she would be willing to come out to the house and help us find the ?right? wood for us. Which she did and the wood we liked, we love now! A little about the installation: It took them a week to demo the existing floors, level the floor, lay the wood and replace our baseboards through most of our one story house ? areas not redone were the bedrooms, laundry room and bathrooms. A lot of the area to be replaced was covered with marble. They had to demo the floor, which is a very, very, messy process. They took every step they could possibly take to contain the dust and protect our walls, cabinets and counters in the kitchen, and light fixtures. They put plastic everywhere for protection. All the AC vents had plastic over them, all the bedroom doors were taped off with huge sheets of plastic, the kitchen had plastic sheets protecting all the cabinets, sink, island, stove, etc. Details, details, details ? they didn?t miss any of the details. On the first day of demo I met Reuben. Reuben and I did a walk-through through the house. He already knew what work had to be done but wanted to make sure we were on the same page. He answered all my questions, showed me the wood, asked if I was particular about wood with imperfections, etc. Detailed questions that I really appreciated. Everyday Reuben was in contact with me at least once, kinda keeping me in the loop ? it was great. When all the work was done we could not believe that they had demoed marble in our home. There was zero dust anywhere. Talk about cleaned up. They wiped down all the walls, ledges, everything. It was so clean; it was literally move in ready! Excellent, excellent job! Additional to the excellent service with the wood floors they did a lot of extras for us and they did that very well too. They are just a great group of people. The sincerity and loyalty everyone at Hardwood Flooring Services exhibits is real, it?s not for show to just make a sale and they don?t appease your concerns in a brushing manner. They make sure ALL your questions and concerns are addressed till you are satisfied. These folks are not just selling floors, they are cautiously guiding and helping clients to being happy and satisfied with their floors. That was the one significant difference (one of many) I noticed between Hardwood Flooring Services and many of the other retailers I went to. Honesty and reliability - that is their work ethic.

I always check out Angie's List and the BBB before calling anyone to quote a job, but since I moved to Austin I have gotten used to the complicated quote. You know, the one where the tree trimming guys expect you to be an expert on trees and the pest control guys need 2 hours to discuss the contract options. So I did expect that getting a quote on wood flooring would be a headache. Some provided an open ended quote with a 'price range' because they were not sure how much it would take to level the floor in preparation for the installation, etc. Bob made the whole process seamless. He brought some samples to the house, took a few minutes to measure the space and then gave me a quote. Easy! He is an expert on wood flooring and does not install any other type of flooring; no carpet and no tile. As a result, he can tell you exactly how much it will cost and there will be no surprises. He helped firm up our decision on which wood to buy, gave us a very competitive price, and told us exactly how long the job would take. His daughter, Andrea, scheduled the job and took our deposit. Both Bob and Andrea were a pleasure to deal with. I was bracing myself for tons of dust when the tiles were removed in the entryway and was surprised to see how clean everything was after the removal. They really did a fantastic job. They moved our larger furniture, hung plastic sheets to protect the kitchen area from any dust, and replaced the furniture after the job was done. His crew has been with him for a long time and made the installation process a breeze. They are true craftsmen and pay close attention to details like trimming around doorways and wood-to -tile transitions. The result is beautiful. We love our wood floors! To make things even better, they managed to complete the job a day early and left the house and garage spotless. I cant say enough good things about this experience. I would certainly call them again and will recommend them to friends and neighbors.

HFS came out quickly to look at my rental property. They explained my options and helped me choose a nice looking, low-maintenance laminate. They were fast and, unlike others I have used, came in below the initial proposal - what a refreshing thing! I highly recommend them as reliable wood flooring contractors in Austin.

This is a family run business. Bob (aka Dad) has been in the flooring business 18 + years. He is very hands on. He handled the quotes, wood selection/ordering and supervised the install crew headed by (son-in-law) Rueben. His daughter (Andrea) handles the shop and was a very good communicator throughout. Though there were problems with materials from the manufacturer, Bob made sure all issues were corrected and the floor was installed within our needed time frame. We had great service! This speaks volumes about working with small family run companies!

In the showroom, Andrea is professional and responsive. She has great I felt comfortable and cared for in the showroom. She promised a same-day quote on the dimensions that I gave her, and the quote came on time. Bob's crew worked on a Saturday to get the floor done in time for some out-of-town guests. They, also, were professional, efficient and on-time. They even did some odd jobs for us; i.e., carrying away some debris and carrying a mini-fridge down the stairs and out the back. Bob showed up a couple of times during the day to check on the job.

We originally replaced our engineered wood floor with the Teragren Synergy Strand bamboo flooring in 2007. Bob's team from Hardwood Flooring Services demo'd much of the existing floor (some of it I demoed myself) and then glued the new flooring down directly onto the slab. Unfortunately, the flooring soon began to exhibit signs of failure: serious cupping, bubbles in the flooring where it had separated from the foundation, etc. We later found out that despite Teragren's assurances, the product had failed not just on our slab but in many other houses in Austin. Despite our best efforts - and a few trips from Bob to address some problems as they came up - we eventually realized that the problems were not fixable. So in June 2010 we contacted Bob and Andrea at Hardwood Flooring Services about replacing the bamboo floor they installed with something that would definitely withstand being glued down onto the slab. They presented us with a ton of options from their showroom, and we eventually settled on the Mullican Ridgecrest Hickory Natural flooring. We cleared out the house for them (the hardwood floors were in every room of the house.) and stayed at a friends house during the removal and installation. Bob's team had the old floor pulled out and the new one installed in three or four days. And it looked gorgeous! Just to be safe, we waited for a bit to write this review, just to make sure the floor didn't have any issues. To date we have had none - not a single problem. The floor is still gorgeous, and we couldn't be happier with the final results. If we ever need more flooring work of any kind, we won't hesitate to call them.

I would recommend Hardwood Flooring Services to my mother and my best friends. In fact, I have recommended HFS to several of my friends; two couples subsequently used HFS in their own homes. Andrea and Bob are professional service providers. I took several months to finalize my flooring selection. Throughout the process, Andrea and Bob were helpful and patient. They offer a range of quality and cost-effective flooring options, and they emphasize pragmatic yet attractive options at different budget levels. I had some potentially tricky moisture issues with my vintage slab foundation. Other flooring shops in town refused to quote or significantly over-designed and over-priced their "solutions". As a type-A engineer, I did extensive research to understand the issue, my options, and the products currently available that might meet my needs. Bob was upfront about his concerns in using a glue-down floor for my situation, and he addressed my concerns regarding noise issues with floating floors. (A quality leveling job prevents the "clacky" sound of floating floors that might make them sound like laminate, and a floating installation would avert the need for expensive epoxy sealers on my slab.) I wanted a high-quality bamboo option, so I ended up selecting Teragren Synergy floating floor in Java. My friends and I literally threw cans at the sample, and the cans dented while the sample remained untouched! Bob and others at HFS were punctual with appointments (always on time!), and Andrea was prompt in providing quotes, revisions, and in addressing questions. Scheduling was straightforward, and their staff showed up on time and instilled trust in me. HFS provided an accurate estimate of how long it would take to complete the installation. And their prices! The HFS installation prices are very competitive with anyone doing a decent job in this town. Verify this for yourself. I went all over town (yeah, I'm type-A). Their material costs were within range of some of the internet suppliers as well. I support paying a little bit above the internet prices because you gain a connection with the flooring manufacturers in case there are any issues. This flooring job was a big investment in my home, and I wanted that investment to be both cost-effective and high quallity. The installation went smoothly, and they did a fantastic job of site clean up every day. They even swept the front porch and entry way. The installation was tight. Fireplace undercut was clean, transitions were well done, and they lined up planks on either side of the transitions. The floors have been in about two months, and so far, everything is great. I am so pleased with my selection, and I am so pleased that I worked witth Bob and Andrea at Hardwood Flooring Services. If it sounds like I'm gushing, *I am*.

Andrea, the Hardwood Flooring Services office contact was friendly, professional and helpful. Project appraisal and estimate was scheduled promptly and efficiently by the owner, Bob. He thoroughly answered all our questions, and offered appropriate suggestions for the project. A written estimate and proposed contact was submitted the following day. Labor and miscellaneous prices were very competitive, and the cost of the product chosen for installation was lower that pricing from other sources checked. Installation was scheduled on our preferred date. The installation crew was courteous, professional, and very efficient. In fact, they were not observed to take any breaks except for brief lunch breaks. The project was completed in two days instead of the scheduled three. Bob came by near the end of the project to evaluate the work of his crew, and assure that we were satisfied with the work. The installation was completed in a timely and workmanlike manner.

We have been wanting to install hardwood flooring for several years, finally we decided it was time! My next door neighbor gave me the name of Hardwood Flooring Services of Austin. I went in and met Andrea, she was very helpful and knowledgeable and let take home as many samples as I wanted to help with my decision (this was very different than other companies that I had gotten bids from in the past). The bid came in cheaper than any of the bids we had gotten several years ago! The installation crew arrived right on time and they were all very helpful and professional. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was outstanding. This was by far the best experience my husband and I have had with any home improvement. I am SO glad that Andrea said it was a good idea to have them install our floors!! We are 100% satisfied!! The owner of the company (Bob) showed up several times during the installation process to check on things and answer any questions we had. My floors look beautiful and I'm so very happy that I chose Hardwood Flooring Services of Austin.

Hardwood Flooring Services is the best vendor we have ever dealt with. Their quality was off the scale. They spent a lot of time going through the different wood choices and offered a lot of suggestions of ways we could lay the wood down. They took an extra day to do the installation but that was only because they wanted it to be perfectly level.

After reading reviews on Angie's list, I called Hardwood Flooring Services on McNeil. They gave me the hours of their showroom. I got quotes from one other flooring store, but didn’t like the method they proposed to frame the tile around my fireplace. Andrea, who works in the showroom helped me quickly (before I got frustrated) narrow down my choices according to color and grain. She let me take samples home so I could see them in the various lights. She even helped me carry them to my car. Next, Bob came out to my house and measured. We talked about how I wanted my fireplace tile framed and he helped me decide if I wanted my layout horizontal or vertical. I didn’t decide until the very last minute which way to go. Next Andrea provided me with several bids. From there I decided on the lower bid but added an extra room. She sent me a revised bid and a contract. They put me on the schedule. On my day, Ruben and his two helpers came out. The first day they moved all the furniture out, removed my carpet and applied a layer of something to flatten and smooth out the surface of my concrete. The next day they came and started laying the boards. I chose an engineered wood that is supposed to be resilient to moisture changes. Apparently foundations absorb moisture from the soil they are sitting on. I didn't not know that. I chose the shoe molding. I provided a can of paint the color of my floor moldings and they painted it so everything would match. The shoe molding is one of the things I like best about my new floors. They guys are very exacting. My house has a lot of angles and all the cuts were done beautifully, much better than my original construction. After the guys finished and left I lived with my floors for a week and found a couple of boards that I thought were defective. I called Andrea and they came out and attempted to repair them. I wasn’t totally satisfied so they came again and replaced the boards. Both of these appointments were scheduled to be most convenient for me. I am very happy with the work that was done and my floors are beautiful. My friends and family can’t believe the change it made. I would recommend Hardwood Flooring Services.

I had the most pleasant experience with Hardwood Flooring Services. Andrea and her mom were so friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of wood flooring and installation. I learned a great deal of information from them. They let me take home bunches of samples, and when I couldn't decide what to do, Andrea came out to my house and gave me some other points to consider. The floor I decided on was recommended by Andrea (it was her favorite), and it is beautiful. I was also under a deadline of sorts, and the job was scheduled and completed in time. The installers were on time, very polite and professional. The floor looks great. I especially like the way the floor looks around the fireplace where it was undercut. The fireplace is made of natural shaped limestone so it is very uneven at the base, but it looks like the fireplace was built over the floor. I will use Hardwood Flooring Services again.

Everything went smoothly. We had a small issue at the end with some scratched tile but they took care of it without any hassle.

Absolutely fantastic. I've waited a few months to insure no mistakes popped up. And they haven't. The most professional I've encountered in quite some time. They provided an accurate estimate. They installed the flooring when they said they would. Their crew even helped move some heavy furniture for us even though they didn't have to. After spending 5 years building our new home using contractors/sub-contractors this was one of the most pleasurable experiences we've had. No problems, no headaches, in and out without a hitch. Would I use them again? In a heartbeat.

We are very happy. We also had them nail down spots that we thought were already creaky in our upstairs floor. No creaks at all with our new wood floors.
