Description of Work: We had hardwood flooring installed in two rooms and it looks amazing. The people at hardwood flooring we wonderful. From the moment I walked through the doors I knew I was in the right place, I received honest and knowledgeable advice about flooring choice and installation and had someone out to confirm price within days. The installation went smoothly and we could not be happier with the results.

Description of Work: Replaced carpet on 1st floor of home (900 sq ft). Couldn't have gone better. This is truly a family-run and owned business. Manager was fantastic, never pressured us into making a choice on materials (took us about 3 weeks and 3 trips, and we took samples with us each time). No surprises on the price or length of time to do the job; all went as originally estimated. Crew who did the work were polite, professional, took care with our furnishings. We were thrilled with this company and our new wood floor and would use them again.

Description of Work: From the very first contact with this company and speaking directly with the owner and his daughter, it was a positive experience. I trusted that the job would be done correctly and that our floors would look great. The end product was exactly what we wanted and installed with the utmost of professionalism by the owner's son-in-law. I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: HFS installed engineered hardwood in our home. Reuben and Jose did an excellent job. They were incredibly conscientious about making the transition from the wood floor to the existing tile in the kitchen and powder room so that the wood and tile are exactly the same height. Reuben made an excellent suggestion about where to cut the tile from the kitchen to make the result look as polished as possible. Both did a fabulous job of putting down the wooden floor and both worked on the wood to tile transition by taking up existing tile, cutting it to get a clean edge and re-laying the tile. Jose is an excellent painter. A narrow piece of wood was put down between the existing baseboard and the wood floor and Jose painted a GREAT number of feet of it (wish I had measured it before beginning this note) without painter's tape. I was a little nervous at first but the man has the hands of a surgeon :)

Description of Work: We would highly recommend Hardwood Flooring Services (HFS) if you are considering installing hardwood floors in your home. We wanted to replace old carpet in our den and formal living and dining areas with wood floors. We initially visited their showroom on Burnet Rd. and met with their sales manager, Andrea Trevino. One of the reasons we decided to work with HFS is that Andrea had an excellent technical understanding of engineered wood and explained which products would work best in our home with two kids and several pets. We chose an engineered exotic wood (Santos Mahogany) from the Johnson ForeverTuff line and the floors turned out absolutely beautiful. We had a few challenges before the installation started because we had some very old tile in our den that contained asbestos. HFS recommended Omni Environmental for testing and we were able to safely remove the old tile and adhesive ourselves. The other challenge was our brick entryway. Bob Hoane, the owner of the company, supervised our installation and made sure the entry was completely level before the wood was installed. The HFS installers seemed very experienced, competent and fast with the wood installation. About three weeks after our floors were completed, we had a water leak in our kitchen, which ruined the wood in our formal dining room. HFS quickly provided us an estimate for damages and came out and repaired our floors in one day. Overall, a great experience and they were very competitive on price per square foot with other companies we considered.

Description of Work: I had carpeting throughout living area except kitchen. I asked for hardwood flooring in the dining area. The area was about 10' by 13'. Hardwood flooring gave me many options, expert analysis, reliable product information on many different brands, materials, and quality levels. They came to the house - on time, discussed the project, offered options, took exact measurements, discussed transition options from flooring to carpet and tile, and left me with a very good sense choosing the right company. The flooring I chose was going to take a couple weeks to be shipped in - but Andrea called the manufacturer's rep and was able to have them locate the necessary amount of product for my project and they cut that supply time by 75%. On the day of the install - again they showed up on time, moved my dining table/hutch and set about doing a very professional job, including the removal of old carpet and padding. Every step of the work was perfect - they could not have done a better job. From the initial meeting with Andrea, to the meeting with the company owner Bob, to the superb installation and follow up care guidance, I was absolutely satisfied and would recommend Hardwood Flooring Services to anyone interested.
