From the original energy audit to the installation, this company is professional and true to their word. They even came back because they forgot to install one of the door weather strips. Helped me get the installation done before the end of the year so I could take the tax credits on my 2013 taxes. Their communication was awesome. I highly recommend Green Collar Operations.

GCO did a great job on insulation work. I wish they offered more services.

Green Collar did an energy audit, put in a new AC unit, insulated my attic and around pipes, they completed all the paperwork and appointments with City of Austin in order for me to get rebates through the city and Austin Gas Co. They also made arrangements for me to get solar screens put on my windows, which I received a $100 rebate. Everyone at Green Collar was friendly, professional and prompt. I think they provide a great service re: completing all ppwk for rebates with the city. My utility bill has gone from $375 to $217 in a 2 month period.

Fine Proposal not easy to understand and not organized well.

The visit was very positive and professional.

I got an ?energy audit? several months before the work was done. Many companies do these audits, which are basically quotes for services they propose to do for you. Green Collar?s rep said their quote was good for a year. They did a ?weatherization? on my house which consisted mostly of repairing ductwork in my attic and installing insulation. It was under the auspices of Austin Energy?s rebate program so they set up the initial and second meeting with the inspectors, which was convenient. I think their cost was good (I got several bids). As near as I can tell they did a good job. In and out fairly quickly and cleaned up after themselves, so no complaints. It was a two-day job. At first they said they might do it in one day. I was skeptical. They were not able to finish in one day and did not have a needed part, so they came back a couple days later and finished. I work out of my house, so that was not a problem. If I had needed to go to work, it might have been less convenient. Their people were polite and unobtrusive. I won?t know if their weatherization will save energy costs until the summer when I need to run the air conditioner. There have been cold days since the installation, and I think the house is warmer than it used to be, but it is hard to say for sure.

We felt they did a very good job. We were installing a solar PV system and in order to qualify for the utilities company creates we first had to have an energy audit performed on the house. Green Collar performed this audit and it showed that we needed to add insulation to the attic and seal our doors. They provided this service and the Austin Energy inspection passed with flying colors. Would definitely use them again.

They were the best price for the services they provided and did not load up the bid with high priced optional unneeded services like replacing the air conditioning units. All the work was done as promised, as scheduled and very professionally including communication on what was to be done and cleanup after the work. The work included replacing weather stripping on all exterior doors, adding insulation, and inspecting and sealing any plumbing or electrical access points into the home from the outside. They moved and replaced items that were in the way of accessing the work areas and even did a few requested items above contracted work like replace the AC filters which I do myself generally.

The owners are truly professional and honest people. They work very hard at making sure the customer has a great experience and the work is done professionally.

They team showed up on time. The attic ladder is in the master bedroom closet, which required them to bring hoses through the house to get to the attic. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional.

Bill who performed our energy audit was outstanding. He gave us a list of things we could do to improve the energy efficiency from "must do first" to "can do later". The entire company is very professional. I have even raised my thermostat a degree already because my house is cooler without all the air leaking out. I haven't seen a bill yet but I am pleased and know it was a good investment already. The owner of the company just came by with the Inspector for my walkthru to get my Rebates ($520). All done so well, with emails, and appts made for me by Green Collar throughout the process. Overall a great experience. I'll be calling them again...

Called, prompt return of call and scheduling. Came out explained what they saw, explained their estimate and all the rebates I could apply for and did the paper work for me. Came on appointed day, on time and did not stop from 8:30 till 4:00. It was a hot August day but the men kept their good nature and their efforts till the end.

Green Collar did high-quality work at competitive prices. What's more to want? They helped me take maximum benefit of federal and local rebates and GC filled out all the paperwork. They clearly explained the schedule and then followed that up forthrightly. I was pleased with the result. I'm writing this review three years after the work was performed. My cost estimate is close, not exact, but I remember clearly that most of the total cost was payed for by rebates. Typically, my outlook is to be cautious about the unsolicited door-to-door sales pitches for home improvement. However, that's exactly how I got my energy upgrades from Green Collar. In this instance a Green Collar salesman's pitch worked out great for me. If you need an audit or energy upgrades, I'd recommend them tracking them down.

Things went great. We recently bought a mid-century house and decided that we should add extra insulation before summer came in all its hellish glory and cooked us to a crisp. After reading tons of reviews and having a few people out to give us on-site estimates, we called Green Collar. Bill came out to give us the initial estimate. He walked us through the individual costs of everything, how the Austin Energy rebate process went, and explained exactly what they would be doing. He was knowledgeable about things and didn't come off like he was trying to upsell every possible option. We scheduled the work to be done a couple of weeks out. They did a pre-inspection as part of the rebate process. I should mention that they handled all of the rebate process, unlike some of their competitors, which weighed heavily in their favor. If you like to take on a lot of bureaucratic work, you can find cheaper companies to install insulation. The guys that installed the insulation were great. They worked tirelessly to knock the work out. I can't remember their names right now because my brain is borderline useless, but they were both top-notch. I'd definitely recommend these guys. NOTE: The amount I spent ($700) is after receiving my rebates. The initial amount was roughly double that. For perspective, I have a 770 square foot house.

The auditor they initially assigned never showed up. Another came out a few days later and was very professional and knowledgeable and provided a $50 discount for our inconvenience. They were one hour late to perform the actual work and couldn't complete it because a part did not come in. They returned to install that part a week or so later but were late that day also. Quality of work and price were great. We will probably save the cost of what they did in the first year of lower energy bills. I'd recommend them if you can tolerate tardiness.

Green Color Operations did an excellent job on weatherization for an older home. We picked them based on the good ratings in Angie?s List and are pleased with the result. They managed to weatherstrip our (1930s) badly fitting back door and were even able to put weather-stripping on the rounded top of our front door. Everything was neat and clean. They seemed very competent and professional.

This company was terrific! I was a little suspicious of a "free energy audit" but signed up anyway because the A/C didn't seem to be running efficiently. Green Collar discovered that two of the three main air ducts in the attic were not attached to anything, i.e., they were blowing cold air into the attic rather than into the house. Working in the attic on one of those 106 degree days (although it was fairly cool up there because of the loose ductwork<g>), the technicians repaired that problem and made sure all of the ductwork was in good shape and sealed properly. They checked the turbine vents, caulked and installed weather stripping in the A/C closet and around two exterior doors, re-worked an exterior door knob that had been difficult to close (sounds like a small thing but had been very irritating), did other miscellaneous caulking and sealing, and conducted pressure tests. Along the way, the technicians were good about explaining what they were doing and why. The house was immediately more comfortable and I slept better that night than I had in months. Green Collar completed paperwork for a rebate from Oncor but subsequently discovered that the house did not quite meet Oncor's criteria. They made a return visit to fine-tune some small things until the house met the program rules. Every person I worked with at Green Collar was professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. Unrelated to the energy work, Green Collar installed a new A/C vent in a small bathroom because it did not previously have one. This was $300 of the total shown above. The Oncor rebate should be $499 of the total shown above. Total out-of-pocket cost for energy work: $265.

They gave me a bid for 3 types of service that were covered under energy rebates. They did a good job and were very good at cleaning up after themselves. They also filled out all the rebate paperwork for me. For pre and post inspections, the owner accompanied the City of Austin employee to check the work and answer any questions of the inspector.

They provided the service. I believe the price was competitive. They went when I wasn't there, so I didn't deal with anyone directly.

These people are the greatest in my view. They are responsive, courteous and professional. They are very knowledgeable. They are about to start up an HVAC servicing company in January 2012 which I intend to use.

They were incredibly efficient and really polite. Their cost was very very competitive with all the other bids I got. I was really thrilled with their service. I don’t have a single complaint about their work. They were outstanding. I would work with them again in the future if necessary.

It worked out well. Either they were recommended by one of the solar systems or I found them directly on Angieslist; I don’t remember which it was that made me to go with them. They were very knowledgeable and efficient. It was a rebated service that we bought.

He was a very intelligent young man and seemed to know what he was talking about. It was a nice experience and he seemed to be honest.
