Gold Standard Floor Care

I had new tile installed for about a year before finally hiring someone to professionally clean and seal it. After the initial treatment, I spot checked a few areas and determined the sealant had not been uniformly applied to all the grout on my floor. Water sprayed on the grout would bead up in some areas but would penetrate immediately in others. I called Blain and explained my concern. He was very amiable and agreed to apply a second coat of sealer for no extra charge, but I have still noticed some gaps in the coverage of the treatment. Also, some stains that I expected to be removed were not. The total price I paid was about one third the price of two other quotes I got, so I guess I got what I paid for, but it wasn't what I expected.

Blain did a great job and the whole process was very easy.

Now, after the second cleaning, my carpets look brand new and I'm not exaggerating. Also, he is the most professional, detail oriented and careful person who has ever cleaned my carpets. He takes the time to vacuum the entire house, places rugs and furniture and door guards throughout the house and he moves all the furniture himself (he works alone) and then moves it back again. I have always had to move a lot of my furniture myself. He takes his time and does a great job. Part of the reason for the excellent outcome is the cleaning system he uses. I have had my carpets cleaned at least 3 times a year for the past 10 years by different companies who use the wand method, have 2-3 people working and are in and out within a couple of hours. Blain uses an upright circular machine and he cleans very slowly and thoroughly. All the years I used other companies, I had no idea that my carpets were not really getting cleaned except for the top fibers. Blain's system cleans deeply and thoroughly so I do not have the returning stains with a week or two as I did before. I stopped to write this because I was just vacuuming and noticed again that my carpets look brand new. I am not a person who writes reviews often but I wanted to pass the word because I would not consider using another carpet cleaner after seeing the wonderful job that Blain does. He is absolutely the best and I have tried many, many companies over the years.

He was great. The system he uses and his professionalism made this such a great deal. He does all the work himself and really takes his time to make sure he does the best quality job. I’ve had him back since the Big Deal to clean my carpets as well.

A+ had my 12year old grout look like new. My grout a light oatmeal color was pretty much black in places. I didn't know it could be clean again and the service and professionalism were so good that I recommended them to my parents

I purchased the $169 for 500 sq. ft. grout cleaning by Gold Standard from Angie's List. Brian came and inspected our kitchen, a large room so the cost was able to cover the cleaning of the kitchen floor. Brian scheduled to come clean. He communicated well through email and we received an invoice for the tax on the $169. He arrived on time the day of the cleaning and now my kitchen floor looks like new.

Blaine was beyond professional, thorough and did a great job on y sons house. He did a fabulous job on my house as well.

We are 150 percent satisfied with the work! Blain, the owner, returned my call on the same day and had we been available would have done the job the same week. He visited our home and provided an estimate 2 days after my initial call and did the job within 1 week at our request. His initial visit was very informative and he answered all our questions effectively. He was extremely thorough, courteous and professional and gave us a detailed estimate by email that day. He contacted us several times before the job to answer any questions that we had. He reminded us one day prior to our appointment, and on the day of the job contacted us to let us know he was en route. He arrived promptly at 9am and was finished about 5 hours later as he promised. He gave us some products to help us keep the floors clean. We are thrilled with the outstanding job that Blain did. We have 4 dogs and our 8 year old tile and carpet had never been professionally cleaned. It looks like we have a new tile floor and carpeting!! A true professional, Blain demonstrated excellent communication and work ethics throughout the job. We will definitely call him when it's time for another cleaning. It was a complete pleasure to work with Blain!

This is a short story - signed up and paid for Angie's List special offer. Contacted vendor, confirmed a time and date for my location, discussed cost of applying grout sealer, agreed to finalize decision on sealer based on on-site inspection of the area requiring sealant. Received confirming email. Received reconfirming phone call morning of appointment. Vendor arrived on time and, after inspecting flooring requiring services, provide a price for sealer plus estimate of how long service will take. Agreed to have sealant applied. The entire process was as good as it could be. The final price was exceptionally reasonable. Vendor's competence was also exceptional.

Outstanding experience! Blain contacted me quickly, came by and looked at what I needed. He explained in detail the process, what I needed to move and what did not need to be moved. Blain showed up on time and did an outstanding job of cleaning our floors. He even sent us a video of part of the cleaning in the kitchen...that was eye opening! We've put a reminder on the calendar to contact Blain next December!

The owner Blain came to our house to give us an estimate. He was on-time, friendly, and professional. He explained in detail his process & technology for cleaning the carpets, looked at a couple of stains we pointed out, and then measured the house to give us an idea of what his service would cost. He had an estimate for us later that day and then we set up a date and time for him to come to our house and clean the carpets. On the day we set up to have the carpets cleaned he arrived at the scheduled time and gave us an idea of how long it would take him to complete the job. His job was made easier as we had just recently purchased the house and had not yet moved in. He quickly got his equipment setup and got to work. When he completed the job he went over with us the problem areas which he was able to take care of and one stain that he was not able to remove. We were very pleased with the results and would recommend him. The only rating I gave him something other than an "A" was price. His estimate was quite a bit higher than the other two companies I had called for quotes. That said, neither of the other two companies came out to give us a quote and explain their process and technology. Who knows if we would have been as pleased with their results if we had chosen one of them.

It went well. He got out some old coffee stains in the grout and was very respectful of our personal property while working.

I hired Blain to clean the tile in a rental house. I went with the up to 500 sq. ft for $169.00 but I ended up having him to do the whole house and to seal the grout also because it looked really good. I would highly recommend him, he was very knowledgeable on how to get it clean and spots out. There were spots on the tile that I did not think would come up but to my surprise he removed the spots. I will use him again in the future.

Brain was on time. Called ahead went over. The procedure in detail, completed job in estimated time and did an outstanding job.

Fantastic-Set up protective rugs and molding protectors. Did an excellent job and provided great advice on how to protect the tile in the future.

Kept in touch by email to remind me of appt. Arrived on time, did an excellent job cleaning carpets. The gentleman obviously takes great pride in his work. He was careful in setting up his equipment, and he spent extra time working on spots and stains. Overall, I could not have been more pleased with his work. Will definitely use him again as needed. And, he saved me from buying new carpeting!

Blain showed up on time and was very good about explaining the process. This was a 'deal' with an additional 2 rooms (5 total) and he made sure to use the largest 3 rooms for the deal.

Short Story: I purchased a coupon, scheduled the services and had the work finished 4 days later. Blain is extremely responsive, prompt, professional and very good at his work. I'd definitely hire Gold Standard again. More than worth the money. Longer Story: I purchased their Angie's List package, which includes the cleaning and scotch guard of 3 rooms. After making the purchase, I sent an email to confirm my purchase. Blain, the owner responded back within an hour with his availability and a few more details and links where I could read more about their services. We set up my appointment for Monday, September 10th at noon. I was worried as to how much preparation I would need to do for their visit. Blain responded very promptly again with information about what I needed to do before the cleaning - not much. They take care of everything, he just wanted to be sure that I put away little items and trinkets that may be sitting on top of furniture and shelves. Blain called prior to arriving at my home and let me know that he'd start unloading his equipment if he got there before I did. Sure enough, he had everything ready on my porch when I arrived, so we did a quick walk-through to discuss the areas and he got to work. You can tell that he takes care with every belonging - corner guards, floor mats on the stair landings, he wears shoe covers while working, and I've been downstairs the entire time and I haven't heard any banging around. He's moving furniture around almost silently. :)

Excellent! They explained the service in advance, and emailed to confirm with prep instructions. They called to say they were on their way, and arrived on time. They did a nice job and left the floor looking amazing. They were very professional.

Blain was very professional: He arrived on time, worked diligently, took care in my space, and finished the job exactly when he said he would. Upon his arrival, he remarked that the space was slightly smaller than he was expecting. (Apparently, I overestimated the size of my new apartment.) Using a laser distance finder, he was able to get the true square footage of the area to be cleaned. As it turned out, the final cost for everything was about $80 cheaper than his original quote. How many people, these days, would tell you when you're overpaying? That said, he was courteous, efficient, and had an amazing attention to detail. I will definitely call him again and have already recommended him to a few people in the area.
