 + -1 moreMr. Duhon wrote a very clear and concise estimate for us. He even consulted on what projects were more important than others and which ones we could wait on vs. which ones we could not wait on. He showed up on time, was very polite, clean, well spoken and professional. If he hit a snag or was going to go over budget, he was going to call us. He even called to tell us he ended up under budget. Yay. His time and $$$ estimate was spot on and he even cleaned up after himself. We had some questions over the weekend and had to call him, he picked up and walked us through the issue we were having. When it was determined he had to come out to the house to resolve it 100%, he was there in just a few hours. This was all on Saturday and there was no extra charge at all. The dude simply rocks.
Description of Work: Brought the house up to code with the proper grounding of the panel(s) and more. Installed new grounded outlets where they were not previously. Changed out all the stuck kitchen bulbs (8 of them that I could not remove myself). Put together, installed and wired ceiling fan. Came to the house immediately, on the weekend after a small electrical issue.

 + -1 moreWas thrilled that we got an appointment the next day (he squeezed the job in). Arrived punctually and methodically set about figuring out the source of the problem. Once the problem was figured out, he corrected the wiring and then finished our project by replacing the remaining switches that we hadn't gotten to yet. Money well spent!
Description of Work: My husband and I were a little more than halfway through replacing our light switches with rocker plates when a section of our house suddenly had no electricity going to it. We could not figure out the problem and called Duhon Electric. This was a few weeks before Christmas and Damien came to the house a day later and fixed the problem.

 + -1 moreI had a melted sock, and 4 others that wouldn't work in my kitchen. Including my fridge outlet. I call and was given an appointment for the afternoon the following day. That morning he called and asked if I would be okay with him coming in the morning. Yay, fridge working sooner!!! He fixed and replaced the effected outlet. Fixed two other minor problems, and gave me a quote for two large remodling projects. And all within an hour and a half. What more could you ask for in a servce provider!
Description of Work: He came in to replace and fix a melted outlet in my kitchen. Find out why it happened, and restore power to the four other effected outlets. He also helped figure out why my outside outlets had stoped working. Ironically it was because I over heat the socket I use my hairdryer with in the bathroom! He fixed that problem and rerouted something so it should not happen again. Plus he gave me two quotes for addtional projects!

 + -1 moreI was very pleased. He was punctual, professional, helpful, and fast. I would certainly call him again, as he seems able to figure things out quickly so that tenants aren't annoyed and I didn't feel as if I needed to supervise. I didn't ask for an estimate beforehand as there was no way to know what was wrong until after he'd done most of the work, but the price felt fair. On the first call, I was impressed that he was willing to just reset it and not push to replace it (plus not charge for the call).
Description of Work: Damien came out to one of my rental duplexes to check a tripped circuit breaker that I could not reset. He showed me the way to reset it (unusual breaker) and didn't charge for the call, saying that the breaker might be okay even though it had tripped. He said that it would be less expensive if I bought it from Home Depot and then he could install it at another time. After a new tenant moved in, they reported that the exhaust fan didn't work. I decided to go ahead and have him complete both tasks. The same day in another duplex on the same street, other problems were reported, a burned out ceiling fan and several faulty bathroom outlets. He replaced the ceiling fan after checking the wriing, tracked down possible wiring faults and replaced a GCI bathroom outlet that was causing several other problems. Total of 3 service calls to two different units.

 + -1 moreDuhon Electric did a great job. It took them about a day and a half to complete. I probably could have got the job done a bit cheaper, but it was worth it for the value. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. They came when they said they would, they did the job and were gone. I would use this company if needed in the future.
Description of Work: Duhon Electric changed some wiring on a ceiling fan, they installed a ceiling fan, changed wiring on internal switches in my home, and added some wiring from the house out to a workshop.

 + -1 moreMay 2008-Damien was the utmost in professionalism when were fixing the breaker on a real estate purchase-prompt, explained what was done and was a few dollars under the estimate. Excellent! Dec. 2008-We called Damien the afternoon of Dec. 30 with a hall light that wasn't working. We scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He was there right on time. After 15 minutes of narrowing the problem to a broken light fixture, he explained the problem. Since a new fixture was in order I told him I'd replace the fixture and asked him how much I owed him. His response? "No charge, I will spend more time writing it up than I did finding the problem."
Description of Work: 2 separate service calls: May 2008: replaced a 220V dryer outlet and breaker the previous owner had removed. Dec. 2008: diagnosed a faulty light fixture on a 3 way circuit.

 + -1 moreHe shares a bucket truck with another company. Waiting for the availability of the truck was difficult. I got pushed off the list twice. My job was all about timing and they cut it way too close. I hired them two weeks before the meeting and they finally made it out the day of the meeting. On the other hand, only the bulbs were burned out. His honesty and not getting charged a rental fee of a bucket truck saved me a fortune.

Description of Work: My husband had a electrical problem while working on a project Sunday Oct. 26, 2008. I went on my Annie's List and we picked Duhon Electric because we liked the rating on it. William from the company came within an hour from our call. He was very prompt, thorough, courteous and he was really precise. He traced out the problem, made repairs and made sure everything was working OK. The price was $85 but gave us $10 discount which made it $75 which was very reasonable for his work. We do plan to use this company again.

 + -1 moreFirst of all, these folks respond to email. Hallelujah, because I hate phone tag. Duhon showed up on time, was very professional and gave us two service calls and installation of the part for the fee. A very good deal and we will use Duhon Electric again.
Description of Work: Our ceiling fan stopped working in spite of a new battery for the remote so we called Duhon. Duhon came out and tested the switch and the fan and diagnosed a faulty sensor. He gave us the choice of getting one at a discount place or he could get one for us. We asked if he would install it since the fan is up on an over 9' ceiling and pretty hard to get to. He came out as soon as we had the part, installed it and all is well.

We called to see what the delay was and one brother had thought the other brother had emailed the price quote but he hadn't. They took care of everything in good time. After the phone company brought the wiring to the outside, the brothers came back and got us up and running and within a few days came back and finished the job. Everything works well. We are pleased with their work and would use them again.

I built a house 4 years ago and have had problems with flickering lights, bulbs burning out too soon and most recently the septic guy found there was current on the septic circuit even with the breaker off. William arrived on time, listened to my concerns and methodically addressed each one. He immediately discovered errors in the main service panel that two other electricians failed to notice. He also discovered the breaker panel for the septic was wired incorrectly. He addressed and repaired all my issues within 2.5 hours. I have never had more professional service. I am filing his card and it's good to know I have someone reliable to contact in the event of electrical problems or upgrades. My highest recommendation!!!

 + 0 moreUsually we've installed our own lighting, but this case required extra hardware and tools to mount things properly. After reading Angie's List reviews, we called Duhon Electric. We talked to them on the phone and were told we'd get a call back the next day to schedule. It actually took a couple of days, but it was worth it. William came out right on time and had all three lights and the fan installed in less than a couple of hours. He was very professional and didn't leave a mess of things either. I wouldn't hesitate to call Duhon for any future electrical needs.
