Diehr Masonry

After calling Mr. Diehr he came by the house to look at the mailbox area and called me with an estimate. I told him that I wanted a masonry mailbox, and that I would provide the mailbox to be put into the stone. He quoted a price of $475 for the mailbox, with two cast stone house number plates for either side of the box costing an addition $100. I checked the price of these cast stone number plates online and Mr. Diehr's price was about $35 less per stone than I could find anywhere else. The day before the actual masonry work was to start he came out, removed the old mailbox and poured the concrete footer for the new box. The next morning he came out with one of his workers who was actually doing the construction. He worked all day, and the work was beautifully done. Everything was cleaned up afterwards and we are more than happy with the results. The mailbox is exactly what I wanted, the stone is gorgeous, and everyone from Mr. Diehr to the rest of his workers were polite and kind. I would highly recommend him to do work for anyone, and if I have need of masonry work again I will hire him.

Clayton Diehr does business the way it should be done. He is honest, prompt, and highly skilled. We first spoke by phone about building a stone mailbox. He gave me a quote, date of completion, and promptly got the job done. The mailbox is beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased. When, just a month later, someone backed into the beautiful mailbox, he repaired it and it looks like new. I would highly recommend Mr. Diehr.

I live in the Bastrop area and Clayton first came out to look at the areas that needed to be fixed and then we spoke a couple of times after that and he provided me a written quote via email. He did charge a $25 fee for coming from the Austin area out to Bastrop, but after the great job he did it was well worth it. His quote was almost half the price of another I had received from someone who I could tell did not have the masonry skill that Clayton has.

Clayton Diehr called and came to bid on the job, the written bid arrived as promised and I scheduled the job with him. He gave me a date and promised to be completed within 2 days. He showed up with a helper on time and completed the project as promised. The finished brick wall looks great and I would highly recommend Diehr Masonry.

I contacted Diehr Masonry to make an appointment to get an estimate for the repair of this hole. Because of the distance from their office to my location it was agreed that I would just send a picture of the hole. The estimate of $435.00 was made a few days later from the picture that was sent and I agreed to the price which seemed reasonable to me. There were a few glitches in getting the job scheduled and it seemed as if my job kinda got lost in the shuffle of other pending jobs which I can kinda allow for given the fact that my job was rather small but if I had one complaint this would be it. Mr. Diehr could benefit from getting some office help or using a "to do" list. The work performed was excellent, very good quality. The hole was patched and you can hardly tell where it was and he even replaced a damaged brick for me that was adjacent to the hole.

KEPT LOSING our phone #, then calling back a few daysl ater, - then ] gave him access at his convenience without an apptmt. and never showed, so we gave up and hired some personal friends,,,

He came by and not only gave us the estimate, but also said that the stone he would use would be much nicer than what had existed. And he was so right! I also asked for the house # to be set in the stone, which was an upgrade that was very reasonably priced and a great addition. Most of the work was performed by Mr. Diehr's helpers, who were very competent. All work was completed on time. Mr. Diehr is a very nice gentleman and easy to work with. Don't hesitate to use his services!

Mr. Diehr and a helper did very good work cutting out btoken bricks and installing replacements. Showed up when he said he would and completed the work as per his quote. Offered suggestions on different approaches to the repair.

We agreed to pay Mr. Clayton Diehr $25 trip fee to investigage and estimate a stucco/flashing leaking at a rental property in Leander. He made appointment with tenant. Here's what tenant experienced: "I was totally uncomfortable with the contractor who came out for the second quote. He did not even bring a ladder! I told him what the other guy indicated so he would know where to look and he just repeated to me what I said without doing any investigation on his own. He was not even going to look in the garage even after I told him about it in case he wanted to include it in the quote. I then told him that I was going to show him and he was like "oh, there is a lot of water that is coming in". And still did not get on the roof to look at it." After all, Mr. Diehr demanded his $25 trip fee, even he didn't investigate the leak, nor did he find source of leak.

Engaged with Diehr about two weeks before the project start time ... this was mainly due to getting on their calendar. Estimate was completed within 24hrs, project started around two weeks later. Small issue in getting materials, but nothing that cause concerns. Hard working, professionals.

I was pleased with the estimate. I was also pleased with the person who showed up. I thought the estimate was fair. He went above and beyond the call of duty to work with me. I had a deadline I needed to meet and he helped me meet that deadline.

Clayton came out and did a free quote and provided a competitive bid for repairing the firebox. He showed on time and quickly and efficiently made the repairs. He also worked to repair the frozen damper so it is functional again. All work was completed as expected and without a ton of mess! If I have any other masonry needs, I'll be calling Diehr Masonry first!!

Called several masons in Austin area and basically got the run around on quotes and scope of work entailled. That is when I decided to join Angie's. Found Clayton Diehr on Angie's and called him for a quote to repair brick and install a lintel. Price was so reasonable I was a little concerned about quality. He did a great job, on time for an extremely fair price. My husband and I own rental property and Angie's list is a necessity. Can't believe I didn't join earlier...

Clayton arrived at the scheduled time and cut the bricks out. It didn't take him very long to cut out the bricks and pack up the tools and leave. In fact, I was working in the back office when I didn't hear anymore noise I went out to take a look at the work being done. They were finished and packed up and about to drive off. I had to ask when they would he would be back. He said to call him when the gas leak was fixed to schedule a return trip to replace the bricks. .He took the bricks he cut out, so he could clean them to reuse, as this type of brick is no longer made. After the gas leak was fixed, I called to schedule for the return trip to replace the bricks. The return trip was also quick to replace the bricks that he had cut out. Clayton also patched a few cracks with mortar in some of the other areas of the fireplace. He did a good job on the repair. The only reason for a "B" rating, was I would have liked to have had a tarp or some type of covering on the carpet where the work was being done. Yes, I will call on Clayton again for any other masonry jobs.

Clayton responded quickly to my initial call to look at the sill issue and made room in his schedule to do the work once I had the brick. Since I was out of town when he did the work, he called to let me know that he had finished the job.

Very smoothly. Clayton answered all questions and calls in a timely manner.

Since I work night shift we communicated by phone and he came and did the work by day and I was very happy with the results.

He was professional and responsive. I would recommend him to someone else. I would use them again in the future.

I contacted Clayton and asked for an estimate for mortar repair of cosmetic cracks in the outside face of my home foundation. We agreed that he would contact me within the next week or two when he would be in the area. He called back two days later and we agreed to meet the next morning.He gave me a very reasonable estimate for the work and completed the work within the next hour. I was very pleased with the price and quality of the work and will use him again for any masonry work.

He did a really nice job. I had a brick wall that had separated from the house and rain was leaking. When he fixed it it looked brand new. I would definitely hire him again.

Mr. Diehr did that in an excellent manner without breaking any bricks. A plumber had to come and fix the valve. Mr. Diehr came and took the bricks he had removed and placed them back in the fireplace. He did an absolutely amazing job. He is not only an excellent mason, he is a great craftsman. The fireplace looks just about how it is supposed to look. He did an incredible job and was very professional throughout the process. This is one of the best services I have had and at a reasonable price. He was a quick worker and knew exactly what he was doing.

Found this company on Angie's List and am so glad I did. I have a 13-year old stone deck that's had many cracks show up over the years due to drought, etc. Several different contractors have repaired them, but not a single one did any where near the fabulous job that Diehr Masonry did. Diehr Masony does big masony jobs with crews going out to brick entire houses, but also does small jobs, so you're getting quality, reputable, big company craftsmanship for a small job that most companies won't consider doing. I couldn't be more delighted with the work done, the price, the workers, the punctuality, and quality. Finally, I know who to call in the future when the need arises, and who to recommend to others.

I called the gentleman at Diehr Masonry and he came and looked at some repair work I needed done on some brickwork on the house. I thought there was a problem but it turned out to be nothing more than mortar coming out of the bricks. He repaired all of the cracks in the bricks in a couple of hours and was on his way.

Mr. Diehr came to the job site in advance to determine if the surface to be stuccoed was adequate and to discuss any design details that were not obvious to us. Mr. Diehr worked this rather small job in on weekends. His crew was efficient and skilled. The job progressed in an orderly fashion and the end result is great. We hope to use Diehr Masonry for the remaining 500 square feet when it is ready.
