Diehr Masonry

We are very pleased with the results - cannot tell that a repair has been made. Clayton was punctual and professional and the repair price was very reasonable. Will definitely contact Diehr Masonry for any future repairs or new installation work. Highly recommended.

From my initial contact, through the estimate, during the job and after the job Mr. Diehr was a real professional and a Texas gentleman. The kind of person I would do a handshake transaction. There are not many of these left. The terms and conditions were explained, the schedule was convienant and the crew was prompt while doing what they contracted for. All of this in a superb manner. I have more work I will be needing a mason for in the near future and one problem has been solved. I have my Mason and trust him completely.

I have had significant stucco problems at my house for a long time and could no longer put off the repairs. After much research, I asked Clayton Diehr to do the job. Clayton and his crew did a great job on the stucco repair and also re-painted my house. The house looks new and the water leaks from the earlier stucco problems have been resolved. Clayton and his crew have also been very responsive in touching up a couple of small areas of paint damaged by the recent rains. I highly recommend Diehr Masonry if you need quality stucco repair and painting.

Clayton is very knowledgeable about masonry work and pleasant to deal with. He took his time to explain and communicate. I wish the man that did the underpinning had let me know before he left. There was a part that first man missed, but Clayton cheerfully corrected that and finished it, made it look good. I would recommend him to someone else without reservation to do underpinning or brick and grout work.

Promised to come and never showed up

We absolutely love our new fireplace! The stone mason did an amazing job! Clayton went out of his way to find us the stone that we were looking for.

The masonry work appeared to be done satisfactorily but when I went out to put our my recycle bin for pick-up I found it full of their waste stone and cement. It was mixed in with all the recyclables. They also left some rock pieces in the yard around the mailbox. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I sent a complaint to Diehr. He did not reply. This makes me wonder how well the work was actually done.

We had about 3 days to work with. Mr. Diehr came out and gave us an estimate and we decided to let him do the job. They were out there and had it done 2 days before the foundation guys came out. After the foundation was done, it only took a couple days and they came out and got everything put back together. I think it looks better now than it did originally. We would definitely do business with him again.

From the start, it sounded it like he was very busy. A small business owner who answers his own phone, costs out all his own jobs and does some of the work himself, I didnt have high hopes of getting on his schedule quickly. Mine was a small job and I wasn't in a hurry. So after providing us with a very reasonable estimate, I followed up with him after the "busy season" and got on his schedule a few months later. I was very pleased with the quality of the work, and with how he consulted with me on all the details. He was great to work with, despite the wait.

We had cracked brick above the the bay window in the front of our house. It took 2x to get Clayton to call me back to schedule an appointment , but once scheduled, the job was completed so well that you can't tell we replaced the brick and surrounding mortar. Very reasonable cost.

This is a very belated review; Clayton did some services for me in September 2012. But, he and his men were really good at what they do and the prices were totally fair. They pointed up a fireplace and some outside rock for me and a chimney was fixed for me. Also a rock facade was removed. I really appreciated the good work they delivered. I kinda forgot the price but I know it was in the range described, maybe a couple of hundred dollars more. I should have left this review long ago. That I leave it now shows how highly I think of them.

It went great. Clayton not only did the work but took the time to lead us through the stone selection and buying process. Actually 2 of the 3 times he came out were to help us in stone selection and then pickup/ deliver the stone. He was focused on listening to what we wanted, providing advise (pros/ cons) and guiding us through the decisions. His execution on building the stone fireplace was very smooth/ timely, and the end result was a high quality fireplace, even better then we expected. After construction, based on the stone we selected for the mantel and hearth he felt it needed to be sealed. He came back the next day and sealed the stone. This was beyond what was expected and an example of him going the extra mile to make clients happy. I am very satisfied and would definitely be willing to give him additional business.

I give Clayton Diehr an A+ for his promptness, cleanliness, masonry skills and price. He knew exactly what the plumber would need and was diligent about not creating a lot of dust. He returned after the plumber replace the gas valve and used rock from his supply to replace those which broke and you can't tell the difference - the original rock was over 60 yrs old. His fee was most reasonable! I would certainly would use him again.

Clayton seemed every unorganized and scattered to me. He would not provide me with a date and time for him to look at the job. I emailed him from Angle's list, gave several days when it would be best for me, and he did not choose a date. Instead we talked by phone and he said " I'll look at the dates and check my calendar to see what fits". Then he called to see if he had forgotten about me. He got my address and again gave me fluctuating days for when he could do the job. He said he had some other business on Monday, so maybe Tuesday or Wednesday he could stop by. He said I did not have to be home in order for him to do the work. This was last week (3-7-14). Then Monday morning he calls and says " I didn't have to do my other job and I'm close, so I can run by and take care of your job. I already had an appointment with a guy to cut down some trees and he was due at 9am. Clayton got here before 9. He is a very personable man, and I think he means well. The price was good, and he was very professional. Being organized and knowing what is being done when and who is coming at what time is very important to me. I have a lot of appointments and I have to schedule everything to keep it straight. Clayton did an ok job, but I felt as though I was being fitted in where he had some time before he needed to be somewhere else.

I had some cracked bricks and very badly cracked mortar on the front of my house. Clayton came out and gave me what I consider to be a very good price to fix it. He came back to do the work, but I threw something else into the mix. I asked him to mortar over a crack in the foundation. He did an amazing job on the brick, but forgot to fix the foundation area. I texted him and he came back a couple of days later and fixed that area and another area as well! He is very polite and was so easy to work with. I really appreciated all he did for me. I want to sell my home, so I really needed a good job, and I got it!

We were very pleased with the work and the price. Two other companies had told us that they would have to break the pillars down and rebuild them which would cost a lot more money.

Overall, we were very pleased with Mr. Diehr and the work of his team. Mr. Diehr's estimate was one of two I received for t his project. His price for the job was very competitive and he was rated very highly on Angies List. He was prompt with his estimate which included the addition of cinder blocks and rebar to make sure that future rains are not able to push over the wall as had happened twice before by the previous contractor. Clayton worked with our schedule to ensure we were home and able to watch the work as it was being done. In addition, his team spoke English and worked hard to ensure the wall was built properly. I would use Clayton and his team again in the future for any masonry work we might need.

Well, it took about a month to get this project done. I left a voice mail on October 3, Mr. Diehr called back the morning of October 5 and came out, and he sent a quote by email on October 7. I accepted the quote, and he said they would be out sometime in the next week. After not hearing from him for a few weeks, I left a voice mail on October 28, and he called back on October 30. We scheduled the work on November 4, but ended up delaying until November 7 because of rain. They seemed to be disorganized in keeping track of my project. There were two people doing the work, and I would say that one of them was more conscientious about cleaning the cement film off the bricks as you can see in the pictures. I had to inspect as they worked to point out more cracks to repair, which they were willing to do. Overall, their work was satisfactory, but I was a little disappointed that they required so much supervision.

Based on Angie's List review I contacted Clayton who happened to be in my small town that day on another job. He came by the same day and looked at the scope of the job. Our brick was no longer available and he went and found something that would closely match. We got an email quote a few days later and I Ok'd him doing the job. The work was done on time and looks great. I have since sold my home and plan to hire Clayton to create an outdoor living area at my new house.

He came by first and gave me a quote. Very fair price. Completed the job timely and did a fabulous job. Highly recommend him for masonry work.

He showed up to give the estimate when he said he would. When we decided to use him he showed up on time to fix the brick pillar. He went out of his way to order the correct bricks, and they matched perfectly. I would highly recommend him because he did A+++ work.

Clayton is honest, hard-working, and always does fantastic work at an incredibly fair price. This is the second time I have hired him and I would do so again in a second. He manages his people well, too, but this job he did himself and it was everything I had hoped for.

Their work was excellent. They had an excellent stucco installer but I wanted the price to be lower. They are so good that they are busy all the time but they responded to me. But they tell you the truth like, "I cannot do it for three weeks." They did what they said that they were going to do which was pretty good.

I think the work is good. It is nicely repaired, and blends in well.
