Decker Electric

I did have to pay him so he did check the rest of the house to make sure there was nothing else wrong.

It went lousy. I called the office at Decker Electric and explained to them that I would like to get a quote for installing 2 light fixtures. They took my name, phone number, and email address. I was told they would get back to me shortly. I never heard from them.

Decker Electric is AWESOME. Reid and his team were so professional, so meticulous in the installation off all the lighting (especially the chandelier) I am thrilled to have found them and will use them again very soon. Thank You Reid.

We used Decker Electric for a project a week ago and were very impressed with Reid, the owner. We had additional work, which required removing four hanging light fixtures and replacing them with new ones. The crew of 3 arrived on time, were very efficient, and accomplished the job successfully. They were all very personable. I would highly recommend them for any electrical work you may need.

Although he usually only works in Austin, he made the trip to Georgetown, which was several miles away, which we very much appreciated. Reid was there on time, efficiently performed the work and was very professional. We liked what he did so have scheduled additional work for next week.

I had an issue with one light not coming on with the rest of the kitchen lights. I tried replacing the bulb and nothing happened, so I figured that I had an electrical problem. I called Decker Electric based on its high ratings. There was some confusion about our meeting arrangement which caused him to come over an hour after I thought we'd agreed on. When he got there though, he apologized and then told me that the light was most likely operated by a different switch. Lo and behold, he was right and I felt pretty silly. He didn't charge me for the call.

They came on time. They gave me a quote. They did everything I asked them to in a clean and efficient way.

Promised to call me back, never heard from him. Don't know if he does good job or not. Not happy with him, now I have to find someone who really needs the work.

The project went well from beginning to end, they were prompt, courteous, thoughtful regarding wood floors and cleanup, completed the job as agreed, and there were no " surprises". I never felt they were trying to get me to do more than I needed and focused on safety issues such as GFI's.

Very through and professional and fair pricing. He was very patient about our questions and explained everything to us. And the Angies coupon saved us $25! We will use Reid again for any future electric work.

I contacted the company and they replied promptly. We scheduled a visit to obtain an estimate. He was on time and gave a fair estimate for several projects. We selected two projects to have completed right away. We had several missed calls and a little trouble scheduling the work, but I believe this is because it is a very small firm and they were busy. After a week delay, the work was scheduled. They arrived on time, behaved in an very professional manner, and completed the work promptly. We are very pleased. One thing I would ask them to improve. We asked them to install two recessed lights in the area where we wanted them. That night, we realized the lighting in the room was not balanced. I wish they would have used their professional judgment to suggest that we add two more on the other side of the room to balance the lighting. We plan to have them back to do this, but wish they would have guided us from the beginning. Overall a great experience. Very pleased.

Small companies have the problem of nobody to answer the phone. So i left a message for Decker having used them before with good results). Since the last time I used them, the # of favorable Angie's List reviews have increased a lot. So he's busy. I think. After first call/left message, it took Reid 3 days to get back to me. We scheduled something for following Monday. On Friday at 4:30, i had to call him as the patio fan i ordered arrived and was the WRONG one. So i called immediately telling him not to come on Monday. I left a message as he didn't answer the phone. On Monday, i was not at home (went to work) and he came anyway, as he hadn't checked any messages since Friday at 4:30. Ugh. So he said he'd call back later that week once the new replacement fan came. He didn't. So 2 weeks later i called him and inquired about rescheduling. Again, no phone call back for 36 hours. So at that point, I called and said I'd find somebody else. Immediately, he calls me back pretending like he didn't really listen to my message (maybe he doesn't, maybe that's the problem!). He immediately wants to come over to do the work the next day. I guess I don't want to have to engage in this behavior, hoping he gets the call and hoping he calls me back. I work 50-60 hours a week. i don't have the time. He does do good work, though, as i've had him do stuff before. I just don't do this phone game stuff.

Reid co-ordinated the effort with the city perfectly. We anticipated being down a whole day. Instead, the crew arrived promptly at 9, did not turn the power off until 11 and had us back up four hours later. Inspectors were virtually standing by so the down time was minimal. The work was done on an old house. When completed, everything was properly tracked and labeled. They had all the materials they needed. Once they started they did not stop until they were finished. Very professional. Fair price. Second time we have used them and they exceeded our expectations on both jobs.

Making the appointment was very easy. The owner called me directly, and he returned my call within a couple of hours of when I left a voicemail. The electrician, Andy (?), was very courteous and punctual. He seemed very interested in doing a quality job how I would like it done. I gave them a B in quality though, because he used a ladder on the wood floors that left minor scrapes. I was able to polish all of them out but one, and it wasn't even bad enough that I felt the need to alert them about it. The floors are fairly new and do not see much traffic, so it's probably more evident to me than in most situations. I wish I had thought to suggest something to protect the floors. The price quoted and the time it would take were exactly as stated on the call when I set up the appointment. I wrote a check after one hour of work, and it was complete! Overall, a really excellent experience working with Decker, and I would highly recommend them to others.

We called Decker Electric on a Thursday, but we could not meet with them until the following day. We were anxious to have the work done as quickly as possible, so it was scheduled for the following Monday afternoon. They arrived exactly at the time scheduled and worked straght through until the job was completed. The work was completed in a reasonable amount of time. The new panel was larger than the old panel so the wall opening had to be enlarged. They measured very carefully to ensure the panel cover would cover the new opening. Upon completion, they cleaned the area so as not to leave any mess. We requested that they label each circuit to match the outlet that each circuit controlled. We received a call a few days later to make certain that we were happy with the work. We were very pleased with their professionalism, attitude, and quality of the work performed. They will be our choice for any other electrical needs.

After checking my electrical panel, I determined the problem was not merely a tripped or faulty breaker. I have never had great luck with electricians in the past and decided to try Angie's List out of desperation. I found Decker Electric through Angie's List and was immediately impressed with Reid's phone presence. He did not sound like the typical sleazy repairman. He was pleasant and articulate. Andy and Aron arrived and were very friendly, thorough and professional. They spend 2 hours tracing the breakdown and had all the parts on their truck to get me back up and running. Their invoice was clear and straightforward and the price was very reasonable. Kudos to Decker Electric AND Angie's List!

Needed an electrical outlet installed near the patio ceiling to provide power to a new patio TV installation. Also, needed a deffective dusk to dawn sensor replaced. Decker sent a crew out on the scheduled day. They showed up on time and to my surprise felt they could install the patio outlet by fishing the wall, avoiding unsightly conduit installed on the wall surface. After looking at alternatives they successfully fished the patio wall and installed the outlet exactly where needed. Once the TV was placed, the outlet and necessary wiring cannot be seen. A great installation. The new dusk to dawn sensor works perfectly. The crew was courteous, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. This is a great operation to do business with.

Andy and John were early to the appointment and eager to get to work. They worked as a team and appeared to like and respect each other. I was very comfortable having them in my house. They put down a drop cloth and cleaned up well when the job was finished. They worked in a professional manner and I felt very secure that they knew exactly what they were doing and that they take pride in their work. The job was finished in good time, and the actual price I paid was somewhat less than what they had quoted because they had fewer difficulties and surprises than might have been anticipated. They underpromised and overdelivered. Excellent!

Reid responded within several hours to my call. He came the next day to provide estimates, and scheduled the work for later that week. They arrived on time and completed all the work in the estimate plus several additional items I added to the list while they were here. The results were great and I would definitely use them again.

Reid from Decker Electric was wonderful in working with me to adapt to schedule changes and last-minute discoveries that are probably inevitable in a major remodel. His crew was careful and courteous, and took pride in their work. They pointed out a few things I had overlooked in planning the work on the kitchen, and made sure that the finished product would be first-class. Reid oversaw the whole job and checked back with me to make sure I was completely satisfied. He even called later to thank me for my business.

Things worked out pretty well. They showed up and got the job done. I thought it was a bit pricy but what do I know.

I called in sort of a panic since I had an electrical outlet that was burned out, making noises and started smelling funny. I got Reid on the phone, told him about my predicament, and he had someone out to my house within an hour. It was perfect service. I would absolutely call them back
