Decker Electric

I have had Decker do electrical work around my house for a long time. They are easy to work with, fair on their prices and always show up on time. I would recommend this company to anyone. I know that they will take care of my needs for years to come.

Reid (the owner) stopped by on his way home one day to get this done. He found (3) different problems. The dishwasher wasn't working because, the wall switch controlling that 110 VAC outlet was turned off. There was a GFI breaker located in a different bedroom, that was tripped. The garbage disposal had a tripped internal reset switch. I felt pretty stupid, but I had no idea that builders are now putting dishwashers on switches in the kitchen. I thought it was one problem causing all the various "dead outlets." Turned out to be 3 different problems in 3 different places. I know it would have taken me hours to find all these, so I have no problem with paying for competent help.

These guys were easy to work with. Reid brought along a couple of apprentice electricians to do the work of digging the 30" hole for the grounding plate. They hit a couple of big rocks in the process, and they only had simple hand tools, but they persevered. When that job was done, they went to work on the fixture above the stairs. I had no idea how they would reach it; Reid and one of the apprentices held up one end of a folding ladder while the smaller apprentice climbed up to the fixture. Then they knocked out the outlet repairs, which didn't take too long. The price was $300 for the grounding plate and $300 for the other stuff, but the invoice broke everything out by materials used and labor charges. The apprentices were on time, but Reid himself showed up a little late, which is the reason for the "B" in punctuality.

They arrived on time, did the work, cleaned up and left.

The work was performed exactly as I expected. Reid Holm was very punctual, honest and helpful and his quote was accurate. He was flexible with my schedule and was able to do the work in two visits since my lights did not ship as planned. His team was also very courteous. I will use them again when I need electrical work done.

Prompt service. The return calls were prompt. The owner was very professional. He even recommended the fixtures for me to get and what store to go to where they were least expensive.

I had a great experience with Decker Electric and will use them again. They took their time to ensure everything was done correctly. The pendant light contains 4 lights which were difficult to line up evenly. However, they took their time and made several adjustments to ensure the lights were level.

The process went so smoothly. Reid, the owner, contacted me right away about coming by my house to give me an estimate on the work. He was very thorough during this process, getting all the information he needed to submit a realistic estimate. Once I accepted his bid, he called to set a date for the installation. His crew was punctual and he also came to help out with the work. They did an excellent job, stayed within budget, and were punctual. Did I say that already? It really means a lot to me when contractors show up when they say they will...so many don't. I highly recommend this company and they will. They be the first people I call the next time I need some electrical work done. Whether it's a small job or a large one.

Mr. Holm and his assistant called ahead of time to confirm the appointment and arrived right on time. They discovered my attic had a very small crawl space, so the job took longer than they had planned to complete, but they did not charge me any more money than what they had originally quoted to do the job. They were friendly and helpful, and left the room very clean after drilling a hole in the ceiling. I was extremely pleased with Decker Electric and will use this company again if I ever have any more lighting for electric problems. I would highly recommend this company.

The two workers first visited with me about what specifically needed to be done, and we walked around to the various parts of the house and discussed special needs. The ballasts were replaced, and they replaced the bulbs in two upstairs flood lights (very, very tall ceiling). The outdoor flood light fixture needed to be completely replaced. They made a run to the closest store, bought the fixture and still got it installed in record time. Both workers were extremely polite and considerate.

I called first thing in the morning on a Friday and left a voice mail message. It is now Sunday and I have heard nothing from Decker.

Great work! Awesome customer experience. I had been told by a previous electrician that he couldn't wire the overhead fixture to the wall switch (for some reason this particular ceiling fixture was never on a wall switch). Reid was confident it could be done, and he and his team got it taken care of! Additionally, the prior electrician said he couldn't install and center a recessed light in my entryway. Reid (and his team) were successfully able to get it done. My house is so much nicer after the work he and his team did.

We called Decker in the fall to install a ceiling fan. Their quick response prompted us to call them when we needed an immediate repair. I called on Friday evening after the HVAC technician got the heat pump back on line with a work around on the faulty breaker and the repair was made by 11 AM on Saturday. The electrician also rewired a fan that had a faulty remote control without an additional service fee.

I called for an emergency repair on some faulty wiring. Whoever answered seemed to busy to talk and not very interested in taking the job. In fact, he said that he is so busy that he doesn't know if he can get around to it. Then, apparently thinking of the lost money, he changed his mind and asked me to call back and leave my contact information on his voice mail so that he could check his schedule and get back to me with a definite time that he will get out to my place, well, 36 hours later, still no return call. Another company on Angie's List (On Time Electric) got out there within 1 day and took care of the problem. Needless to say, I won't be calling Decker again for any work on my portfolio of rental houses...

Great service! Reed was able to come by to look at the problem within a couple of days. He quickly determined what the problem was and replaced the bad GFI outlet. He also checked to make sure there were no other problems. He was friendly, professional, prompt, and reasonably priced. While he was working, he made sure that I understood exactly what the problem was and what he was doing. I will definitely call him for any future electrical issues!

Reid Holmes' work has been scored highly by others on the List, for us it was no exception. He arrived early, giving me a call first to make sure it was ok. He and a helper arrived and worked carefully and quickly. He made sure I understood the work being done, and he even made a quick repair to a junction box he located in our attic that wasn't up to code. We're delighted with him, his work, and his one-year guarantee on his work. We'll call him again!

They were very professional but also nice people. They actually did a follow-up call to make sure I was satisfied, and I am!

Reed answered my very first call and diagnosed the problem instantly. He followed up a few hours later in the day to confirm our appointment. The day of the appointment, he gave me a 30-minute lead call and met my wife at the house where the work was performed in under an hour. I will continue to recommend their services, and Reed was kind enough to recommend other contractors for other types of jobs (plumbing).

They were great to work with. They were very busy and fit my job in within 2 days of my call. Workers came early and were done within 15 min.

Reed is the owner and was very nice on the phone; I had called to see if my job was too small, and he was very friendly and accepted the job. I had to reschedule at the last minute and he was always very nice--never made me feel like I was "that pest who had to reschedule before" when I called back. He and his crew were very professional and quick. I would highly recommend them.

Reid Holm, owner, is a very good electrician. His assistant, Andy, is very good too. This was a very good experience working with Reid, and I will definitely be calling him the next time I have electricity work. He does good work, is honest, and a nice guy. I was very impressed. I recommend him highly!

I called the company and told the guy about my problem, and he came right out the very next day. He moved the outlet for us and was very friendly. He charged us a very reasonable price, so we will pass on the recommendation to others.
