We hired Steve's to take over a sewer line job mid-project, because another company had made a complete mess of it. Unlike the other company, Steve and his people were competent, considerate, they listened and got the job done, inspected and back-filled in the time they said they would. I was particularly impressed that Steve visited the site multiple times for quality assurance and to make sure we were being well looked after by his crew. I also found that they were happy to discuss their work and why they were doing things a certain way. That was in complete contrast to the people other company, who was surly and non-communicative throughout. I appreciated that they never left us without a working sewer for more than a few very clearly indicated hours, certainly not overnight (the other contractors had left the site for the weekend with an obviously leaking sewer line). Finally, as a quality company should, they didn't seek payment until the job was finished and inspected. I would definitely use Steve's again.

Great experience. Gave a good price quote over the phone, explained all the work that would be done and needed, and possible areas that would affect cost. Showed up on time, provided the service quickly, and did a thorough job. Friendly company and highly recommended.

I AM IMPRESSED! I will only call Steve for my plumbing needs from now on. The technician actually listened and WANTED to hear exactly what was going on and what remedies I had already tried.

Pilot light on my 11 year old Paloma tankless water heater had gone out and I could not relight it according to the instructions. The serviceman was able to relight the pilot light but admitted that he didn't do much to get it to relight. Although the serviceman was very professional, he indicated he had no control over what could be charged. I felt the charge of $108 was a bit much for not much work.

Steve has been taking are of our plumbing needs for almost 12 years. He is efficient, punctual and extremely knowledgeable. In addition to this he is fair, professional and reasonably priced. There is nothing harder to find than a good plumber, which is why I highly recommend Steve's Plumbing. He even came back to check on our leak to make sure all was well. Spent 30 minutes of his own time inspecting and making sure everything was working as it should. Great guy, great service!

On the call for service they came out promptly and identified the repair required. It was 5 days before I received an estimate for the repairs and it contained very little detail and didn't cover all the repairs they had identified on the service call. Since part of the repair cost was covered by insurance and some not covered, I requested a break out of the access cost and the actual repair cost. It was a couple of days before I received these break outs. I still did not get an estimate for all the repairs identified. The total repair required jack hammering a section of slab in the master bathroom ,repairing a break in the pipe and to correct a belly in the pipe. The estimate never covered the belly repair. When requested, I was told that they would have to evaluate that costs AFTER they jack hammered the slab section. Having no idea of the costs involved until after they had a large hole in my master bathroom. I decided this was unacceptable and gave the job to one of the other plumbers that DID provide a complete estimate. I suspect this was a job that they just didn't want to do. Since they didn't do the work, I have no data to evaluate the quality of their work or cost competitiveness.

They tried to unclog a washing machine drain. I had a coupon, They charged the amount of the coupon, seemed disinterested in attempting to go to any serious efforts.

I did appreciate the fact that when I called, Steve came over right away. He told me he had to pull a plumbing permit which was fine. I know the permit charge was $100 and he charged me $200 which was also fine since he spent the time going to get it etc. The issue was, he quoted me $1100 for the water heater. Now we are up to $1300 but when it didn't pass inspection, he charged me another $300 for the additional work and parts. I talked with the supervisor at the water district asking if the inspectors vary their requirements which is what I was told by Steves assistant but he said they work off the Uniform Plumbing code for 2009 which should be know to all plumbers. I called to talk to Steve about this and his assistant said he would call me back but I haven't received a call. To net it out, I feel like I was overcharged by about $300.

I contacted Steve's Plumbing in the morning, and the person answering the phone was very friendly and offered to have a plumber out that afternoon and would have them call 20-30 minutes prior to let me know that they were on their way. The plumber did call, showed up shortly after, and even parked in the alley behind my house because the dispatcher had actually conveyed all the information I had given them and he knew that the leak was in the garage apartment which is on the back side of my home. I discussed the details of our concerns with him, and left to go to the main house. About 15 minutes later, I returned, and he was finishing up with the diagnosis. He took great pains to illustrate in detail what was causing the leak (it was something he couldn't fix, because it unfortunately is going to require the demolition of the bottom portion of the shower and correct installation). He made sure that I understood exactly what was going on so that I could proceed with the correct solution and hire contractors appropriate for the job. He did say that when I was ready to re-install the drain line, they could help me. As he was leaving, we noticed that the leak had actually become worse and was now coming through the garage ceiling. He cut an opening so that the water could flow out rather than stand and cause further damage, as well as hopefully dry out as much as possible. He was extremely knowledgeable about what was needing to be done, and although I have a pretty big problem ahead, I at least have the peace of mind that I know exactly how to proceed from here. All in all, I thought that he went above and beyond to make sure that his diagnosis was correct and that I knew what was causing the leak, and how to go about making the repairs. I intend to use them to set the drain after I complete the rest of the repairs because I know I can trust them.

I have used a number of plumbers over the past couple of years and finally had settled on one, but when I called for a faucet leak they were backed up and couldn't get to me for at least a week. I didn't want to waste water for that long and the leak under my sink was small, but continuous so they offered a few recommendations. Turns out that everyone was busy and short of people due to the flu, but I finally got hold of Steve's plumbing. I left a message expecting the same, "sorry we're too busy" call back. I was pleasantly surprised when they called back a couple of hours later and said they could work me in the next morning. They sent two guys (Dallas is the only name I remember) who were wonderful. They charged me by the hour instead of by the job and the two of them got right to work. The bathroom sink leak was due to wear in some parts that were original to the house (about 14 years old) so they were able to quickly diagnose the issue and replace the parts. Since it was an hourly fee and they finished fixing the bathroom sink so fast I had them check some other things I was concerned about, including the back porch water faucet. That was rusted badly and would leak all over the place every time I used it. Sure enough, the handle broke right off in my hand when I tried to show them the issue. They had parts on hand and were able to quickly replace the entire faucet for me! They were great about letting me follow them around and watch what they did. Dallas even took the time to explain the water cut off valves outside my house so I know what to do if I have anything major happen, now that the house is getting older. I got great value for the cost, they were able to come out quickly when others couldn't and they even left me with a 10% off coupon for my next job so I couldn't be more pleased!

They came same day as called and were very professional and fully explained what the problem was and recommended repair.

my hose bib started leaking. I called them and set up a time between 1 and 3. They were here about 3:30. Were verynice, knew exactly what they were doing. Wasted no time. One guy turned off the water while the other guy prepared the new hose bib. They put it on and tested it and turned the water back on and billed me and were off. It was great!

Showed up on time and price was good. I am having them come the week of March 4, 2013 to install 2 new toilets. I would recommend them to my neighbors and co-workers.

Went well. Customer service answered the phone promptly and courteously. Said a plumber would visit us within 2:00 and 4:00 pm and would call when en route. Larry called shortly after 2:00 and arrived within the 30-minute ETA. He had some experience installing similar units, read the instructions and installed the unit quickly. Tested the hookup for leakage, waited for me to test the device, and removed the plumbing trash from the house. Replaced the existing plastic hose with a flex-metal hose, at my request.

MY OVERALL EXPERENCE WAS GOOD. THEY CAME LATE AND STAYED UNTIL THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND.

I disovered the leak, went to my trusty Angie's List accout. Located this place and phoned. Received professional assistance, my appointment was scheduled at earliest possible time. Plumber arrived on schedule. He was courteous, and professional. Knew his job, explained to me the problem and corrected it. Reasonably priced and I received a $20 discount. I highly recommend them.

They were very thorough and discovered a problem in the clean out outside. They snaked everything and the price was reasonable. They advised me to watch the outside clean out because we might be headed toward an issue later. Sure enough, about 10 days later, things started backing up in the shower. They came back and replaced the back flow flap to prevent water from coming back into the house. They also checked all of the stacks on top of the house. There was a small mistake with a valve they installed, but they came right back out to fix it.

- I would use them again but probably won't - my neighbor is a certified plumber and offered his services for the future. The pipe connection under the kitchen sink came loose and flooded the storage cabinet - I called and they were friendly, professional, gave a quote which was to be reduced by the first time use of Angie's List coupon - the service person called and said he could go out during the day while I was at work but my teenager was home and let him in - He billed the entire amount - I called the office and they said they would call me upon receipt of the check the man had taken with him and we would give him a card to bill - they never called and I misplaced the ticket as well as the coupon - the difference was only $20 but still - I think the work was superb, quality excellent, and response time was great but follow through was poor in regards to the money end, and the cost for what was done was a bit excessive.

We had a leak in our master shower that had gone through the wall into our office by the time we discovered it. Before the insurance company could deal with the water damage, we needed to get the leak fixed. We called Steve's Plumbing and they came out right away. Rosendo was the person who responded. He was very professional. He explained exactly what needed to be done and was able to fix the leak the same day. Since I was able to pay cash I got 10% off! I am very happy with the service, quality of work, response time and professionalism of Steve's Plumbing. I will definitely be using them in the future when I need plumbing assistance.

Terrific service. Came out the day I called. The technician was friendly and professional. He quickly replaced both faucets and even put in a new cut-off valve box that I had not ever gotten around to installing. I will trust Steve and his crew to fix any plumbing issues that ever arise around my home!!!!

I live in Victoria and needed a plumber at my daughter's house in Austin. Not knowing anyone in Austin, I checked Angie's list. Steve's Plumbing was the first on the list. I called Steve's Plumbing on Monday. I explained the problem and was given various quotes covering all possibilities of problem by a very courteous, cheerful person that answered the phone. They didn't require a credit card or deposit. They trusted me to pay them once the work was completed. (A wise person once told me that people who trust, can usually be trusted) A repairman came on Tuesday. We were not home, but he was able to repair the problem without entering the house for less than any of the quote scenarios. The polite repairman called to let me know when he was finished and what work he had performed. I called them the next morning to take care of the bill. I have been ripped off by so many repairmen in Austin, this was a lovely experience! I would definitely use them again, and recommend them to anyone needing honest, efficient plumbing work done! Extremely impressed!

Very good. Fast, clean, and courteous. The only issue is that I was quoted a specific price over the phone and so scheduled the installation based on that price. I was then presented with a much larger bill. When I explained that this was not what I was quoted, the plumber honored the quote but told me that it wasn't their usual price. The woman on the phone had given me the wrong price. I was happy with the work and with the resolution of that conflict--they honored the price I was originally quoted.
