Butler Floors is a family owned, local business in south Austin. Butler Floors has been in business since May 1999. That's over 18 years for Rob and Cindy Butler. The majority of our customers are through referrals. We have lots of happy customers who love to pass our name onto their friends/family in need of new flooring. We strive to not only outdo the "big box" competitors with personal service and competitive pricing, but our installation crews are experienced with many years in their specialized fields. And with flooring, that is one of the key ingredients. We have a large showroom with thousands of samples! You can even take any of the samples home with you. After you stop by the showroom, we can then schedule a free in-home estimate. Flooring choices are constantly changing and we are here to help make it as easy and as comfortable as possible for you. Additional DBA - RB Carpet Inc.
Description of Work: Butler floors removed our old flooring throughout the house, prepped and resurfaced the concrete and installed new laminate, tile and carpet. Mr and Mrs Butler were very communicative and responded to all of my texts/emails/phonecards every time. The quality and finish was excellent and even fixed an error I had missed. Highly recommend this local company!!!

Description of Work: This was very small job. My husband wanted part of his computer room tiled. Went to butler floors to buy the tile because we were so impressed with them in 2010 when we bought about 2400 square feet of carpet and tile for our house. The tile is perfect and we have never had to have the carpet cleaned. If there is a spot on the Carpet (we have 3 dogs) we just spray Resolve on it, brush, and the carpet looks like new. This is a family business and great to work with. The price shown above is for the last small job.

Description of Work: Their work crew removed two layers of floor covering from the floor of our modest 50 year old home and installed a new floor covering called Adura, a synthetic product. They also replaced two rooms of carpet. They were very easy to work with, very helpful. Their work crew was punctual, very efficient, polite and respectful of our belongings. While having ones home in chaos is trying, they worked efficiently to minimize the trauma!

Rob gave us an estimate, and delivered the wood himself the day before the installation. I had to call him a couple of times to finalize the time of delivery. The installers arrived on time at 10 AM, and were finished with everything by a little after 1 PM. They were quite neat, and cleaned the room up before leaving. One complaint is they were sawing the wood indoors at first; I work from home so it was very distracting when I had phone meetings (thank goodness for mute). They did close my office door during the indoor sawing, and sawed the rest of it outdoors later. We had painted the walls recently, and they were in great condition when they left--no dings or smudges. Only one handprint that was easily wiped off. There was a little of the adhesive coming up through the cracks between the wood, but I called Rob and he recommended how to remove it ourselves, and said he'd give us a free cleaning kit. If removing it ourselves didn't work, he'd get the installer back out to do it.
Description of Work: We had Teragren Synergy bamboo flooring installed in a 10' x 13' room (159 sq.f.) that we are using as an office. It has two closets and a small, boxy entryway, so has some irregular shapes. We had already removed all the carpeting & pad, and all the baseboards. We are starting with that room, and when we can afford it we'll do 3 more rooms and a hallway. We got a little bit of the "your job is too small" song and dance; they implied they wouldn't normally do just one room, but since we're going to do more eventually, they made an exception--I definitely felt like they wanted us to know they were "doing us a favor." Other than that, they were good overall.
The work went very well, I was especially pleased with the tiling work. Mike Floyd who sold us the flooring was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Description of Work: Tiled two bathrooms and carpeted upstairs and stairway.

It went reasonable well. The tile was beautiful and well priced. They showed up when they said they would. However, there was no supervisor and the installers only spoke Spanish. I don't speak Spanish so communicating wasn't easy. The tile I chose was a fake slate, so there were about five different patterns on the tile. The installers didn't always vary the pattern, so in the middle of the floor there was a section of identical tiles all next to each other. This ruined the slate illusion. When I called Butler, they had the guys come back out to fix it. The installers busted out those tiles and proceeded to replace them EXACTLY THE SAME way. Again, I called Butler and they came out a third time and fixed the problem. While this was frustrating, at least Butler made it right. For some reason, they didn't seal the grout. However, the salesman was happy to lend us his grout-sealing gun. Whatever. All in all, I am very happy with my new kitchen floor.
Description of Work: They installed porcelain tile in my kitchen. They prepped the floor and installed the tile. They didn't seal the grout.

The category Installation / Repair gave me the impression that these guys would repair carpet. We have some high traffic areas that need new carpet. We pulled some carpet out of our bedroom and put in hardwood floors. These guys said they only install their own carpet. Not sure where repair comes in.
Description of Work: Pull up existing carpet and replace with carpet recently pulled out of bedroom remodel.

They had a good selection of carpet to choose from and they used good quality carpet. They contracted the installation work out, but made sure to send out good contractors who did a very good job installing the carpet and were nice people. I was satisfied with them.
Description of Work: They replaced the carpet in 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, stairs and an extra room.
